Ever since I was little, this has been a top place to eat, cozy and informal!

We had a very pleasant evening. We had a great seat in the restaurant and weren't bothered by other guests. The service was impeccable. The jugged hare with red cabbage and mashed potatoes was delicious. The venison steak was also excellent. It was complemented by vegetables, roasted potatoes, fries, and potato gratin. In short, a great meal in this cozy restaurant, and we will definitely return.

We went last weekend, and it's great that our favorite host is back. We hadn't seen him in a while. Now we'll definitely come back more often. The food was very good. And the service was excellent. See you soon!

Not what it used to be for a long time. Apart from the increasingly bad service, the quality of their dishes is rapidly deteriorating. You can better get a hamburger at the local chip shop…

Wonderful place for a nice meal

Had a beer and everyone's 4 super small bitterballen. 1.10 euros per bitterbal, too expensive for such a small ball. Quality wasn't good either, just think mora. So a beer is totally fine, but nothing more to eat there.

Delicious food, everything was to your liking

The first time we went to eat here and to be honest our expectations weren't that high as we had read some negative reviews about the bar being loud. Well, we didn't notice anything! Staff was very friendly and the food was really tasty! We ate 3 courses and we received generous portions for each course. With the main course all kinds of hot and cold vegetables, 3 types of potatoes, where can you find that nowadays? In short, if we are ever in the area again, we will definitely come back!

Gluten-free bread was not gluten-free bread, when asked, it was simply said, it is no longer available. Fish stew was very dry vomit with mussels that could break a window. Never again

Over het eten valt niks te zeggen was gewoon goed maar duurde allemaal erg lang hadden geboekt voor 2 uur moesten zelf vragen om te bestellen en om half 4 hadden we nog geen hoofdgerecht toen we er iets van zeiden als ons eten nog niet klaar was kreeg je als antwoord denk het niet de tafel is nog niet afgeruimd.Personeel is zeer onvriendelijk en 1 persoon in het belang zo hoorde wij dat ze tegen een collega zei goed hoorbaar doe maar anders beginnen ze weer te zeiken en toen zei ze goed hard naar ons toe ja zo praten wij ook weleens daar zakt je broek toch . Weet wel toen Koen er geregeld was was het veel gezelliger.

Food nothing to complain about, but not enough tournedos so a choice had to be made as to who would have to sacrifice his or her food. Sitting in the cafe shouldn't cause any extra problems, but otherwise we were sitting with a bunch of noisy people who had a little too much to drink. Because of this we were not able to have a pleasant experience. Food arrived late and two guests had to wait a long time for their food. Didn't have a great evening...

Wij komen hier al jaren. Altijd was het goed. Helaas is het sinds een aantal maanden erg terug uit gegaan. 1 medewerkster maakt er echt een puinhoop van met haar stomme opmerkingen. Het eten was onder de maat, soep was enorm zout, de spareribs waren gesopt in de saus ( erg vies), het toetje met ananas was inspiratie loos. Bij een andere tafel waren ze de bijgerechten vergeten. Medewerkster haalde alleen haar schouders op. Dezelfde medewerkster heft ons van de tafels weggestuurd toen we met 28 personen wat kwamen drinken ( incl bitterballen) Het enigste wat ze zei was....komen jullie van het ROC...dan moeten jullie in die hoek zitten......deze tafels zijn alleen voor eters.....heel vreemd..De gastvrijheid is hier ver te zoeken tegenwoordig. Wij komen hier voorlopig niet meer.

Food was decent, too much sauce. Noisy on the terrace. You are on a fairly busy road, so traffic drives right past the terrace. All children in the ministry. Personally, I wouldn't eat here a second time.

Very poor service, no good day, no response to questions, having to wait half an hour for a high chair, helping other guests known to staff to move around earlier, and after all that, raw food. If you say anything about walking, this is snarly denied and she walks away to continue chatting. But left without eating. Very unfortunate

A great place to have a lunch in a pleasant atmosphere not far from the hotel HUP… had a salads with beef tenderloin chunks and strips, a great home-made burger and spare ribs. All good, well prepared and quickly and friendly served.

I would like to thank you and your entire team for the good reception and the surprise dinner that we enjoyed last Sunday. We had a retired restaurateur in our party and he couldn't believe that so much quality was delivered for so little money. So hats off, or as we Belgians say: chapeau!! Of course also thanks for the coffee that we received from the house. We had the 3-course surprise menu with 16 people in which we could choose fish / meat, this was communicated in advance.

Ik wil jou en je hele team van harte bedanken voor de goede ontvangst en het verrassingsdiner dat we mochten degusteren vorige zondag. Wij hadden een restaurateur op rust in ons gezelschap en hij kon niet geloven dat er zoveel kwaliteit voor zo weinig geld geleverd werd. Dus hoedje af, of zoals wij Belgen zeggen: chapeau!! Uiteraard ook nog dank voor de koffie die we aangeboden kregen van het huis.

Cozy meal for 3 people. The starter was delicious. But main course was chicken satay with fries. When the dish arrives at the table it is cold, I give it back. When it comes back, the fries are overcooked because they were put back in the fryer and the satay was put in the microwave. And that's what you pay for, because of my angry face and my dissatisfaction they didn't put my cold dish on the bill and it was a good thing otherwise I would have been even angrier and the hell would have broken out. Ask them if you enjoyed it????

Heerlijke rijkgevulde Spaanse vissoep met brood als lunch gegeten. Dikke aanrader.

Lekker en snel gegeten. Alles was goed warm en goed gaar. Lekkere champignonsaus en lekkere knoflooksaus zat er bij. De koolsalade was ook erg lekker

Super lekker gegeten zowel diner als dessert veel keuze ....super bediening mooi restaurant/ café...zeker een aanrader.

Weet niet goed wat daar gaande is. Wij zijn al meer dan 20 jaar vaste klant bij de Barrier, voor ons altijd 5 sterren waard geweest. De laatste maanden komen wij niet verder dan 2 sterren dit is nog aan de hoge kant. Service is op dit moment ver te zoeken, onverzorgde uitstraling van het terras en een te lange wachttijd om iets te kunnen bestellen en dan wacht je veel te lang op je drankje / bestelling. Barrier wij maken ons zorgen!

Het eten is lekker, wel aan de hoge prijs, de bediening is wat stug

Ik vond het eten erg lekker, heb lekker varkenshaas gegeten. Ik kom hier volgende keer ook, goede bediening.

Je gaat niet met honger naar huis, het eten smaakt goed en de sfeer is gemoedelijk. Als je van nagerechten houd moet je hier niet zijn.

Koffie gedronken en een biertje drinken. Gezellig.

Genoten van een heerlijke lunch. Vriendelijk ontvangen, geen lange wachttijd, heerlijk gegeten voor een nette prijs.

Via Eetcafé de De Barrier hebben wij een buffet aan huis gehad bij een feest. Het buffet was van uitstekende kwaliteit en werd precies volgens afspraak op tijd geleverd. Daarnaast gaan we graag een hapje eten op locatie in het eetcafé. Het eten is altijd prima. Het personeel is heel vriendelijk en de prijzen zijn heel ok.

Ik had het verrassingsmenu, maar dat was heerlijk!!! Complimenten voor de chef!

Gezellige zaak. Leuk personeel. Mijn schoonouders gaan daar regelmatig eten.

Ontzettend lekker gegeten! Man en ik hadden het 4 gangen verrassingsmenu (Mmm met asperges). Kids ook prima gegeten met een leuk en lekker toetje. Super leuke locatie en gezellig interieur. Heel aardig en kundig personeel! Kunnen veel restaurants een voorbeeld aan nemen! Bedankt en tot snel!

Hier na dat we rondje Helmond hadden gefietst iets gegeten het is een eetcafé,en dat was inderdaad te merken veel herrie binnen en dat is normaal voor een cafe het eten is prima maar geen fijne sfeer zo zittend aan de bar met schreeuwden mensen om je heen en ze hebben heel veel personeel dat vooral elkaar in de weg liep als het mooi weer is het prima op het grote terras maar binnen voor mij geen herhaling

Verassings menu was heel lekker

Okok, het is mijn lokale eet gelegenheid, we kennen veel mensen maar het personeel zorgt er ook voor dat het gezellig is. Het eten is zoals de gezelligheid echt lekker, wisselende kaart en lekkere wijnen.
