Eetcafe Het Hert in Naarden

Had a lovely and delicious lunch here yesterday! We had the sandwich of the month, with rendang. Mmm! It was so tasty! And lots of meat on it too. The waitresses were very nice and friendly! A great success.

When we went there at 15.30 and at the entrance we were asked if we are there for food or drinks, and we told them for food. We sat, and quite some time later the waitress came. We tried ordering food and she told us that it is not possible, so we left. Thet were pretty rude and they did not say goodbye. The atmosphere was nice.

Top place! The food was delicious and the crew was fantastic. Friendly, fast, and accurate.

We arrived too late for lunch and too early for dinner. Unfortunately, the only options were drinks platters or bitterballen. We asked if bread and croquettes were available, since they also had fried bitterballen. Unfortunately, this wasn't possible. A couple at the table behind us had suggested the same thing and were also disappointed. Unfortunately, we only had drinks and went elsewhere for dinner.

The food was delicious. The fries were very dry and the waitress could have been a bit friendlier.

A lovely, atmospheric spot. Beautiful garden, though the enormous parasols obscure the view of the beautiful facades. A perfectly fine and tasty lunch, though the price-quality ratio might need some careful consideration. But perhaps I should reassess the modern value for money in the hospitality industry. It's still skyrocketing.

Great food, but above all, the service is top-notch! There are a few nicely set-up tables along the street, but thankfully it started to rain, so we were able to see the rustic dining room and sit on the covered terrace. Highly recommended

Het hert is niet meer zoals het was Slechte frieten en taaie spareribs. Ze namen het vlees mee. Tafelgenoot bestelt garnalen. Nochal rubberig dus uit de vriezer

A nice drink with a snack was fun!!

Located in the old part of the town, seen from the outside it seems like the usual Dutch bar but inside there is a very large environment with a covered terrace and, for the summer, outdoor tables. It has kitchen where you can eat from hamburger to spareribs and salmon fillet which are delicious. The desserts are also excellent. Very kind staff. If I want to find a small flaw I would say the menu is only in Dutch but the staff is still available to help you.

Really awful food. We ordered 4 different things, not one of them was edible. We were charged 50€ for terrible mustard soup and a piece of old cheese on bread (that was described as salad in the menu). Staff is friendly, but the rest is no good.

Terrible overpriced food. We ate mustard watered down in luke warm water and salt (the soup of the day - horrible) and a salad, which was a few leaves of greens and an old piece of cheese on top of one piece of bread. 50€ for that. Shocking. Possibly the worst lunch in my life. Absolutely not recommended sorry.

A lovely spring day brought us to the fortified town of Naarden. My wife knew a restaurant with a courtyard garden called Het Hert. Found enough space here. Quick response and order delivered.

Kwamen per toeval langs. Een leuk bruin eetcafé met een serre achter. De bediening is informeel en heel vriendelijk. De loempia met geitenkaas is een aanrader. Heerlijke combinatie. De uiensoep is eveneens heerlijk. Rijk gevuld en niet te zout.

While it was freezing outside, we ate here at 20 degrees, very cold... slow service, long waiting times for the food... hardly any other guests. The food was not worth the money, a steak costing 32 euros and very small, 60 grams at most. Slip sole also small, while as an experienced sole eater I am used to better...a starter of 15 euros for tartare, 3 bites, very small, thick veggie burger, fine, but why 2? Perhaps for the turnover 19 euros.. In total we lost 136 euros...phew in an ice cold conservatory and still hungry.. Next time back to Bregje,...always great there..

Had lunch here yesterday and it was delicious! Would highly recommend for lunch after visiting the Fortress Museum - also seems great for large parties if you reserve something in advance!

We had coffee there, it was fine

Had lunch at Het Hert last week and that was fine. Delicious croquettes with tasty brown bread and a little salad. So we thought we would have a nice dinner on February 15, 2025. Was a disappointment. The 2 soles served were paper thin, the bread under the hamburger was not tasty. Poor quality bread. The dessert did not look appealing. Without any imagination. Shame.

Personeel heel aardig. Gezellig bruin eetcafe. Prijs kwaliteit niet in juiste verhouding. 2 superdunne slibtongetjes voor 26,50. Hamburger vlees is goed, broodje slechte kwaliteit. Dessert appelstrudel ziet er niet smakelijk uit. Al met al niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

After playing an escape room via Google, I settled down at this cozy cafe. We were 6 people and were immediately given a friendly welcome. We tasted just about everything on the menu, to the amusement of the staff. The atmosphere was good. The food was delicious, service top notch and atmosphere a big 10. In general the correct description is - Too bad - The food is mediocre, the tables are not clean, even the menu is too disgusting to handle. When we were there there was no capable chef in the kitchen. The tenderloin was fried (if it was tenderloin at all) and the carpaccio had a bad taste. Assuming they aren't trying to bottle the customer (and I don't think so), I would look for another butcher. The service was friendly and the coffee was excellent (if you like strong coffee like me) In any case, not worth a visit.

Eaten surf & turf salad for 19.50. Price-quality ratio was hard to find. Both the prawn and the tenderloin were overcooked. In addition, the tenderloin pieces were certainly not tenderloin.

Jaren geleden voor het laatst in Het Hert gegeten. Vanuit de ervaring van destijds afgelopen zondag weer eens gereserveerd. Wat viel het tegen.Eten was zeer matig. Zelfs het toetje voldeed absoluut niet aan de verwachting.

Service was good and atmosphere too, but 2 people got food poisoning from the liver. The pork satay was also still pink. The chef probably wanted to cook quickly because it was very busy. The soups (both) were very tasty.

Very unfriendly people. No experience With the servers but the managers. If supplier contact. Had them.

Beautiful location, dog friendly and delicious lunch (slip soles). We sat in the covered conservatory, and when the weather is nice you can also sit in the large garden at the back. Price/quality is excellent. We'll be back!

Innovative tapas with different flavors

We eat here very regularly and always feel welcome and appreciated. The price-quality ratio and the fantastic service make it a pleasure to eat here.

We were welcomed , even though we didn't have a reservation. BUT , after that it all went only downhill. It took forever before our order was taken . We had a starters and main course. We did enjoy the starters , but we never got the burgers we've ordered . We were there for 2 hours and we left the place hungry without dinner.

For people who have a lot of patience. First wait at the bar because the agreed table was not yet available. Then wait another hour and a half at the table before order and dish are served. Orders are not fulfilled properly at our table or in the surrounding area. Everything is going wrong tonight, is the response from the wait staff. Food was good. Service and kitchen do not have sufficient capacity. We felt sorry for the staff and also for ourselves that our outing ended this way.

Great tent, great card. The veal liver that I was really looking forward to was undercooked. That is very important for the liver. This one was very small and far too raw. My comment on this resulted in the remark “you should have said that earlier”. A bit weak. No more calf liver in Het Hert for me.

It's slightly on the expensive side,but the vibe is too good... the service was lovely, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The interior of the place is beautiful...

Ooh... That was a bit of fun. Sitting in the garden with the lovely weather. Lunch was really tasty and a nice plate full. I will definitely come back here again.

A cozy place with lots of details inside and a beautiful sunlit terrace at the back. The service was decent. Good selection of beers, including non-alcoholic options, and excellent food. The Niçoise salad was superb, with the tuna perfectly cooked. The sweet potato fries were also great. The burger was excellent. We ordered flatbread for our daughter—she didn’t really appreciate it (not the most child-friendly dish), but we liked it. We weren’t too impressed with the regular fries—they were a bit dry. And the food took quite a while to arrive (though understandable, as there were seven of us). Overall, I highly recommend this place, and we will definitely return.

Heerlijk gegeten, vriendelijke bediening. Zeker voor de locatie een keurige prijs voor de kwaliteit. Wij zijn hier om 16.00 begonnen met borrelen en zijn uiteindelijk blijven dineren. Personeel denkt graag mee en is flexibel

Hert is een leuke lokatie, met heel vriendelijke en vrolijke bediening. Eten werd vlot geserveerd. Vond de hoeveelheid patat bij het eten ruim onder de maat. Kregen voor 3 personen een rond schaaltje met daarin alleen maar kleine stukjes patat. Bij de vraag of alles naar wens was, gevraagd of dit de juiste hoeveelheid patat was voor 3 personen waarop bevestigd werd geantwoord (?) En of dit juist was dat wij een schaaltje friet kregen met alleen maar kleine stukjes 1,5 tot 2,5 cm. Ook hier werd bevestigd op geantwoord. Aangegeven hiermee niet akkoord te willen gaan, en na enige tegensputteringen , konden wij toch een ander bakje patat krijgen,gelukkig maar. Het eten was verder helemaal top, en de avond was gezellig. Vind wel dat voor de prijzen die het restaurant rekent, de hoeveelheid eten daar op aangepast zou moeten worden, immers € 23,50 voor een sparerib of €21,50 voor 1 stok saté is best niet voordelig.

On a Friday afternoon without a reservation, we were tipped by friends to have lunch at Het Hert. It was quiet upon arrival, although there were guests eating. And even though we didn't have a reservation, we were more than welcome. The employee was friendly and offered us something to drink and a menu. We ordered two sandwiches and they were good! Carpaccio sandwich was filled and fell over your bread, it was very well filled and my sandwich of the month was tasty and the sandwich was still warm. We had a good lunch here. We liked the price. The atmosphere could use some improvement, but the taste is not inferior. Highly recommended.

This is a street in Naarden, which is located within the municipal borders of Naarden and the borders of the province of Noord-Holland. This cozy cafe in a beautiful monumental building is the oldest catering establishment in Naarden Vesting. Here you can enjoy a meal under the rays of the sun on the terrace located in the courtyard (it has a sunny position and can be almost completely opened in summer), making it unique and the only such terrace near the fortress. This is a beautiful, cozy brown cafe with continental cuisine, where you can always have a delicious meal and relax after walking around this picturesque town. In addition to the original food area, there is very fast service and good staff. I really liked the tuna tartare appetizer, with teriyaki sauce, sesame and wakame foam🤤😋👌 It was something incredible! Such a good wine list here, more than 400 wines. If you find it difficult to choose or you are not sure which wine is the best for your meal, the friendly waiters are always happy to help you. You can also drink delicious coffee here from Yauco Selecto grains. Cafe Het hert is a place to enjoy!

Fried Shrimps are really nice, and the staffs are helpful and kind.

I was here for a moment, waiting for someone. The espresso was good, the service too. I appreciate a glass of water with coffee. I didn't eat there, but I'm sure I'll like it in a place within the fortress walls of Naarden, this eatery!

Too bad the Biet wellington wasn't there.

Last Sunday we wanted to have something to eat and were able to take a seat at the bar. There were 5 staff, you would think enough, but none of the ladies asked us what we wanted to order. We asked if we could open the door so that they could bring the food to the other room. But then we waited another 5 minutes but nothing. Then we went for a drink somewhere else.

They were reduced in number and one kitchen employee due to illness, we heard later, so it was hard work, but the service remained friendly and with a smile. Very good bartender and very strong lady who managed the floor. We will definitely come back.
