Hair in your food, as usual. For the third time! The owner gives you a dirty look and always sits at the table with her son, aimlessly checking on people. A creepy look. Not a pleasant atmosphere. The chicken is never cooked properly. Expensive prices and not worth the money. There's always a foul smell. The barmaid, around 50, thinks it's normal to flirt with my husband. She's also very rude. I've read several reviews about her, and the owner doesn't respond to the feedback. Clef visible, and she likes to come to your table and ask questions when you're married. It's a shame, we'll never come back. The place is often empty, now I understand why. A tip for the owner: be friendlier. Hang around less with your staff at the tables and stare at people less. We also got sick after eating the chicken.

I had to wait half an hour for a simple pancake, while it wasn't even busy. As if that wasn't enough, I got conflicting answers about something as simple as ordering two smoothie mixes while that was possible last time. It feels like they don't treat customers equally. Definitely not recommended if you expect good service.

Eetcafé Riad on Burgemeester van Leeuwenlaan is without a doubt a hidden gem in Amsterdam West. After countless visits and tasting every dish on the menu, I dare to say: this is the best restaurant in Amsterdam. The atmosphere is warm, genuine and relaxed. You feel welcome from the moment you step in. The decor is stylish but not pretentious; it feels like coming home, but with a chef in the kitchen who knows your taste better than you do. The kitchen is incredibly versatile. From richly filled couscous to perfectly seasoned tagines, and from surprisingly refined pasta to classic sandwiches - every dish is prepared with love and you can taste it. Everything is fresh, generous and served with attention. You notice that people cook here with pride. What makes Eetcafé Riad truly unique is its consistent quality. Whether you come there in the morning for a hearty breakfast, in the afternoon for a quick lunch or in the evening for an extensive dinner: it is always a hit. Always good. Always better than you expected. In short: anyone who doesn't know Riad yet is missing one of Amsterdam's most beautiful culinary secrets. And anyone who has already been there knows that one visit is never enough.

Ordered food from the riad. The food arrived quite cold, but that was after the delivery person indicated that he had to deliver several orders somewhere, even though it was not the customer's problem and the riad had to hire more delivery people. After I finally wanted to start my cold meal, I was surprised to find a hair in my food. my appetite disappeared immediately. After I threw away my meal, another hair appeared. This is the 2nd time I order something from them and have been very disappointed twice. Unfortunately, the customer is not highly regarded and the ego of the employee, a boy, is extremely disgusting as you are told. Riad never again.

I order from Riad Eet Café quite often and the food is usually just delicious, so I just wanted to say that. But what I experienced tonight was really disappointing and rude. I had deliberately ordered a kapsalon at five past eight in the evening, because that is when I am only allowed to break my fast. To my surprise, the delivery person was already at the door at 17:50. I politely indicated that I could not eat it now and that it would be cold by then. The delivery person called the store and put his phone on speaker. I heard a woman say: You just have to give it to him, we can't do anything about that. Really no understanding or thinking at all, as if it was my fault. I decided to call myself. At first I got a friendly lady on the line, but then a young man who immediately went on the defensive. He literally said something like: What do you expect from us? That we make the dish twice and spend double the amount? So he immediately assumed that I wanted them to make it again and that they would lose money because of it, while I just wanted to discuss whether something was possible. He also said: I understand that you are fasting and that is why you are so irritated. Super disrespectful! No apologies, no understanding, nothing at all. As if it is only about their system and the customer does not matter. Response to previous message from owner: Good that you still made inquiries, because there was no question of that on the phone. There was no room for a normal conversation or any form of understanding. There was an immediate defensive reaction and my story was immediately swept off the table. You say that the conversation with the delivery person and manager would show that no instructions were given about the delivery time. But I clearly checked 20:05 as the delivery time via thuisbezorgd.nl, something that is simply possible within the system. If you go back to the order via thuisbezorgd, you can see that yourself. You also say that the order was confirmed at 18:22, but I already had the food before 18:00. How can something be confirmed at 18:22, if it is already at my door at ten to six? That is simply not true. You also indicate that other customers with a fasting time clearly state a time. So I did that too. And with that you give the impression that I expected you to “smell” out of nowhere that I was fasting, which is completely wrong. I chose a clear time, which apparently was not picked up on by your side. That is not my fault. Then you say: If the delivery person has to come back, he has to drive twice, that is not feasible. But I did not ask that at all. In fact: I was immediately told that making a new meal “would cost too much” and that I should order again at a later time, then I would at least get it warm. Sorry, but that comes across to me as sarcastic and not at all customer-friendly. You write: “Without clear instructions, we cannot respond to this.” That instruction has been given. That it may not have reached you via thuisbezorgd, that is possible. But just say that honestly instead of placing the responsibility entirely on me and talk to a customer. And then you end with: “We find the negative review unjustified and childish.” That is quite something. I honestly think it is childish how I was treated on the phone with condescending remarks, zero understanding and absolutely no willingness to accommodate or even indicate how annoying it can be for someone! Now in this answer it suddenly all seems neat and professional, but then also be honest about how the phone call really went. This just comes across as hypocritical. If you say that customer contact is important, be sincere about it, not just in a polite response afterwards - for the reviews.

Nice place with fast service and friendly staff. I was helped immediately and in a friendly manner, and the owner made a nice joke at the checkout. All in all a nice and cozy place!

Yesterday we had breakfast with my 3-month-old baby and my girlfriend. The service was good, very friendly staff. The food was fresh and very tasty. The atmosphere was also pleasant. I will definitely come back here.

Didn't realize they were open at 10am on Sundays. Even though we arrived way too early, we were helped very kindly. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended.

In general, a great place to have a nice lunch with your family and friends. Riad is a Moroccan restaurant in a quiet neighborhood. The food looks good and is tasty too. The reason for the 4 stars is that some staff members cannot deal with stress, causing me to receive a grumpy response or to misunderstand requests. Riad is undergoing renovations during quiet periods, but that also makes the inside much more beautiful. I also saw that new recipes are being added ;)

If you compare riad with other rubbish Moroccan tents, Raid certainly stands out above them all! Nice terrace, friendly staff Clean tables, clean toilets food is always tasty and if something is not right then they want to compensate or serve it again, so they certainly want you as a customer to enjoy it and come back. Chago employee who doesn't even say hello normally. If you ask after an hour where half of our order is now, she tells you to complain to the chef. Never again!

Delicious fresh Moroccan food, their sfenj is so fluffy and fresh, I just always have to have it. The harira was well filled, with plenty of meat in it. My kids also liked the smoothies and shakes! And their breakfasts are just fine, lots of choice and always fresh

Grill mix specially ordered for €25 (most expensive on the menu). I waited 45 minutes for this. I was in shock when my plate arrived. Plate was filled with 3 super small pieces of meat and a sausage. There was also 2 bites of a salad and some fries, the other half of my plate was filled with iceberg lettuce. Don't order here if you want to fill your stomach!

1e keer hier gegeten. Blij verrast, we hebben genoten. Wij hadden de kipsaté en de hete kip schotel, kip saté is een aanrader. Friet komt heet op tafel, lekker krokant nog. Al met al een positieve ervaring. Je kunt hier ook prima terecht als gezin.

Eten was wel goed/oké ... maar het ging niet leuk op het eind, reden voor mij om daar niet meer te komen. De prijs die mij werd verteld kwam niet overeen met wat er op de bon stond. En vervolgens kreeg ik een hele verhandeling over wat zij had gezegd volgens haar! Het gaat me niet zo zeer om het geld alleen, maar vooral om de houding en de wijze waarop het allemaal werd 'opgelost' .... namelijk NIET! voelde me totaal niet serieusgenomen. Ik vond het erg klant-onvriendelijk, jammer!
