Eetcafé 't Dammetje in Wijk 21 Oude Haven

We discovered this place by chance. We were just going for a drink and ended up staying for lunch. The prices are reasonable, and the two sandwiches (salmon and carpaccio) we ordered were excellent. The welcome was truly exceptional. We needed a phone cable to charge ours. They lent us one without any hassle.

At first glance, it looks like any other tourist spot overlooking the town square, but the food definitely exceeded expectations: tasty soup of the day and a delicious and original "zaanse sambal prawn" dish. The lady who welcomed and served us was incredibly friendly!

Attentive and non-pushy service. Bread starter was easy to share with range of dips. Tasty chef special of ravioli. Portion size good. Indoor restaurant open to outside space and so smoke travels.

Onlangs hier gegeten en ik ben aangenaam verrast. Vanaf het moment dat we binnenkwamen werden we vriendelijk ontvangen. De service was uitmuntend: personeel is gastvrij, alert en denkt echt met je mee. Je voelt je meteen welkom.

Geweldige service, een gezellige sfeer en alles tot in de puntjes verzorgd. De avond kreeg een perfect einde met de amaretto sour – echt fantastisch!

Food was good (sandwich with spreads, pork tenderloin and tournedos with mushroom sauce and the recommendation is definitely fries with parmesan cheese) but despite indicating that we had to leave on time, the wait for food took a bit long and we had to ask again for the food. 1 starter forgotten which was later deducted from the bill. Apologies and free drink were offered and there was sufficient attention from friendly and service-oriented staff

I've been coming here with my boyfriend since it opened. Super cozy and the food is very good. The service is good and interested in the guests. The owner Jeffrey is always ready for everyone. In short, a cozy and atmospheric cafe.

Erg gezellige plek om lekker op het terras of binnen in het restaurant een hapje te eten of een drankje te doen. Ook aan kinderen is gedacht door een mooie kinderstoel en genoeg te doen (kleurplaten etc.). Wij voelden ons als gezin daarom erg welkom. Daarnaast hebben we een heerlijk diner gegeten. We hoefden niet lang te wachten op ons eten en we werden vriendelijk bediend door iedereen. Zeker een aanrader op de Dam!

Onwijs lekker gegeten met goede muziek op de achtergrond. Veel aandacht voor ons als bezoekers, fijne sfeer en de gerechten zijn heerlijk. Dank Jeff & collega's! Wij komen zeker terug.

Целый вечер мы провели в абсолютно пустом зале.Кроме нас посетителей не было и это удивительно,ведь все заказаные блюда были вкусно приготовлены.Ценник правда высокий и тянет на ресторанный,хотя это место больше напоминает кафе.Официант был очень улыбчив и приятен в общении,что не всегда происходит в Голандии.

It's a nice quiet spot in a middle of Zaandam squere.I have the most amazing ribs,and the porcions are big.The french frys with parmezan and souce was perfect side dish to go with.And the sweet wine was realy good.I reccomended this place,a little expensive but Dutch is expensive country so for that matter is all good.

Bij dit cafe wordt je ontvangen en bedient als familie. Het eten is van uiterst goede kwaliteit, je proeft echt dat alles huisgemaakt is en dat het menu is samengesteld door iemand met ervaring in de keuken. Ik ben normaal totaal niet van eten op een terrasje, maar dit was ver boven verwachting. Het personeel is altijd vriendelijk, een slechte ervaring kan je zeker buitensluiten!

Ate here with some friends of mine. Compared to the other cafes on the Dam, this is a really different quality. Everything is made with passion and love. I come here more often!

At this cafe you are welcomed and served like family. The food is of extremely good quality, you can really taste that everything is homemade and that the menu has been put together by someone with experience in the kitchen. I normally don't like eating on a terrace, but this was far beyond expectations. The staff is always friendly, a bad experience can definitely lock you out!

When we entered 't Dammetje, we wondered for a moment whether this was the right place to eat. But how wrong we were! From the moment we sat down, we were amazed by the delicious dishes and the warm, friendly service. The food was fantastic: carefully prepared and full of flavour. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy and friendly, which made our evening extra special. The service was attentive and made us feel welcome straight away. 't Dammetje is definitely recommended, and we will definitely come back here!

This is a bar/restaurant, they serve decent food. Portions should be a bit bigger to match the price. We had a great time, friendly staff. Improvements: don’t use the same fryer for French fries that you also use for fish.

We had a delicious meal here yesterday with my sister. Carpaccio salad, salad with hot chicken + fries with parmesan cheese and truffle mayonnaise. This was super tasty. Very attentive service, we indicated that we had a film showing in 55 minutes, well, in 10 minutes we had food on the table. They really tried their best so that we could enjoy the food and not rush it. Fantastic, lovely cafe.

Very nice, fresh, hip tent. Service is fast and top. They go the extra mile to make your evening perfect. There are heaters on the terrace and there is plenty of room to eat inside. Also perfect for drinks in the evening. I absolutely recommend it!

Better than expected! Really delicious food, with good service. If you look inside from Dam Square, it really does look like a cafe, but the food is really restaurant worthy. And the service was very good, we had nice advice about a matching Rioja with our food, received nice Espresso Martinis, and had a very nice evening. In my opinion, definitely recommended.

On a Friday at Eetcafé 't Dammetje. Starter: a bread board, which is of course delicious... But then the main course. I had the tenderloin tournedos and it was so tender... It melted in the tongue. I almost thought it was a shame to use the gravy, but believe it or not, it just turned out even better! This together with a delicious tempranillo from Rioja. For dessert I had a pistachio scroppino, twist on the lemon, and man was it delicious! In addition, super nice and friendly staff! I had a nice evening and will definitely come back!

Jeffery and Miguel were top tier humble service men. 100% went above and beyond, extremely accomodating. Will be returning, lovely bar. Unfortunately arrived after the kitchen was closed but the atmosphere and service were fabulous. One of the true divas on our table wanted a strawberry daquari and they learned how to make it then and there for him. So cute.

Heerlijk gegeten met mijn vrouw. Het was mijn allereerste social deal ervaring. Dit gedaan om het etablissement eens uit te proberen. Nou ik kom zeker terug. Lekker biertje op de tap, goede kwaliteit eten en ontzettend vriendelijk personeel. Enige rede voor vier van de vijf sterren, iemand van het personeel had de device in zijn/haar zak die de muziek verzorgde. Buiten bereik van Bluetooth stoorde de muziek of viel geheel weg. Misschien denken aan een vaste opstelling voor het apparaat. Maar ik kwam uiteindelijk voor het heerlijke eten en om te praten met mijn vrouw.

Fijn terras, niet te groot, lekkere zitplekjes. Het 12-uurtje was heerlijk, de prijs prima (social deal), en de bediening was goed. Kortom een goede plek om te lunchen. Ik kom hier zeker terug! ;-)

We had a 12-hour meal here (soup, croquette and sandwich) in the sun on the terrace on the square. The soup was made with fresh ingredients and tasted delicious. The sandwiches were thick slices of nice fresh bread with tasty tuna salad and carpaccio. A croquette is of course always good ;) The people working in the service were very friendly and service-oriented. They gave a glass of water because it was so hot. Recommended.

Food was good. The quality of the wine could be better. Staff friendly and service-oriented. In terms of decoration/layout it could be a little better (table layout is not cozy). All in all, we would love to come back again.

Atmosphere was good and very friendly, but the kitchen is a disaster. Ate with 4 colleagues but had to wait 2 hours for our main course, sitting for a total of 3.5 hours. We won't be there again. After receiving a response, I immediately sent an email and what I actually expected...no more response! Would have thought it neat.

Big disappointment, it was a birthday dinner with friends followed by a trip to the theater, we were there at 5:30 PM so we had plenty of time to eat in a relaxed manner, the order was taken at 6:00 PM and about fifteen minutes later the starter arrived, at 6:30 PM picked up the plates and asked if the main course could be served, yes please, then we still had plenty of time, at 7 p.m. nothing yet, everyone around us, including those who came later, had already eaten, asked and said that we had to go to the theater, to 7.10 pm I asked again, it would take another 10 minutes, at one point it was already 7.30 pm and we had been in the restaurant for 2 hours and still no main course, we paid for the drinks and starters and left, they were told staff complained that there was little staff and that it was force majeure, perhaps not so many customers made reservations with groupon deal, they received all the attention and the customers who pay full price are not paid attention to, had relied on the good reviews, food might are very good, but we didn't taste any of it, You asked for my contract details, I gave them and then I heard nothing at all

Bad experience. We ordered via social deal. We had to pass on our choice in one go. This was because the waiter had to go to a house party. So the store had to close at 9 p.m. A nice fine we were there 6.15. Well, we didn't get any further than a starter. The main course, however, had to wait. By the way, my starter (bread board, which was bread, I think, was really fresh the day before. A nice wait, the tables next to us already received food.. group of 8 and table for 2 people. After a long wait we went to the bar to ask for our money back. After some back and forth discussion, the food suddenly arrived, of course we were ready at 7:45 PM, and it was not busy in the store. I did not get a refund, I had to contact social deal for that because we already had an appetizer, well an expensive appetizer this way. 2 young guys, who don't really fit into the catering style, one prefers to talk in street language level... I had to hold back A course would be nice Adding music that just sounds perfect would be more enjoyable No, certainly not worth repeating Was it said that you can eat well here? I was craving my chicken thigh satay...unfortunately Out of disappointment we went to eat a shawarma sandwich They just forgot about us All in all, more than inadequate!!!!!

It's just not all there Service is very young and has absolutely no experience with themselves anymore. Food is minimal for the breadboard, herb butter is very hard So fill it in yourself You won't see me in the dam anymore.

We had a company outing here on November 10 with 40 people, it was well organized, the service was top notch, very friendly and the food, everything was so tasty and of course the DJ was also very nice, we will definitely come back here.
