Beautiful location, excellent and friendly service. The atmosphere could be better. A makeover of the restaurant wouldn't hurt.

It looks good inside, nice covered terrace. Friendly service, plenty of staff. The food was good and plentiful. Not high-end, but good. For example, I don't really like the curry sauce on my club sandwich. What I really loved was the flammkuchen. Absolutely delicious! Just a nice place with affordable prices.

Super nice and friendly people work there; they make time for a chat, and the service is top-notch.

Nice place, absolutely!! Inside and out. We had reserved a table, but they took into account that we might get cold, so they reserved a table inside for us as well. Very thoughtful, but it was possible because it was unusually quiet.... Service excellent! The food and the menu are as expected in a casual eatery. Everything tasted good. See the menu. One tip: at the end, we ordered two flat whites and received two lattes (it was listed that way on the bill too). That is really quite different. Just hire a barista. Otherwise, we thought it was fine.

Nice place to go with your dog! Good food and friendly staff. It could use a fresh coat of paint here and there, but for me personally, that doesn't detract from the atmosphere. I really enjoy spending time here.

When you walk up, the building and surroundings look a bit run-down; this could be made quite nice with some plants and attention. The terrace wasn't very atmospheric, no nice music or anything. The food was fine, the service too, except for the dessert; the ice cream contained crystallized ice and that wasn't tasty. The whipped cream, too, from a cheap spray can, was really not worth the money. Furthermore, we sat in the sun for a very large part of the time; it was really scorching hot and there were still many parasols standing by empty tables. I would help the guests with that or perhaps hang up shade cloths. I won't be coming back, but that is mainly because we were sitting in the full sun.

We had a delicious "Cool Cappuccino" here! I would definitely order it again. From a distance, the café looks a bit unassuming, but the closer you get, the more lovely it becomes. Cozy and beautifully decorated, you can't help but feel comfortable. The server was incredibly friendly, as were her colleagues. The restrooms were also clean. We highly recommend this place! ☺️

Had a delicious lunch on a warm day. We were immediately asked if a parasol could be put out for us. The staff were young but very friendly, quick, and correct. The salmon wrap and carpaccio wrap were both delicious. Just a small tip though: ice in the drink would be welcome on these hot days. We will definitely be back 👌

We had reserved a table, everything was arranged perfectly. The staff was very friendly. Mustard soup with bacon bits was perfect 👍 For the main course, Berlin schnitzel (could have been accompanied by a few more vegetables). My partner had salmon and was very satisfied with it. So all in all, we had a good meal, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was nice.

Unfortunately, I didn't get what I ordered. Although I was offered a drink, which I declined because my glass was still full, they didn't bring it up again. Otherwise, it's a cozy place to enjoy a nice meal.

We came for the best spare ribs in Lelystad, but unfortunately we went to eat at 6:00 PM and everything was sold out... a bit of a letdown. Next time we'll call ahead to see if there's enough to order... otherwise, the other food was fine!

There were 10 of us, and we sat comfortably outside on the terrace. The portions (lunch) are fine and the food is tasty. I had the Tuna Melt myself. I think it is a nice place and I will definitely come back again.

Nice location and friendly service. The food was a bit disappointing. Spareribs for 25 euros, 3 small baskets with fries and no salad or anything else. Quite meager and simple overall. The steak was overcooked. I wouldn't go back for the food, but the location is nice.

Hmm, I get a call on Wednesday afternoon saying that our dinner for 6 people for a 61st birthday, reserved well in advance, is allowed to last a maximum of 1.5 hours because decorations need to be put up for a private party. If anyone asks me if this pub is recommendable, they will be told to stay away! What terrible hospitality!

At first, I always went there with my husband, but now for the first time without him. It was always our regular spot to grab a bite to eat or have a drink. This time I went with my son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter.

It's a cozy restaurant right on the beach with a great outdoor area. The drinks are delicious, but a bit pricey. The service is super friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, the food wasn't so great. We ate there twice; the salad with goat cheese was very good, as was the bread and butter appetizer. However, the fish and chips was a disaster. The fish was tough and dripping with grease, and the fries were soggy. €23 for that is steep. The spare ribs were also mediocre and overpriced.

What an incredibly fun place and the food was delicious. A bit noisy due to a falling cutlery tray, but that certainly didn't spoil the fun. Nice, friendly service, I'm a fan!

Overall, we sat quite comfortably and enjoyed the sun. The waitstaff came every 2 minutes to ask if we wanted another drink, even though our glasses were still full. But when another person joined us, we had to wait 20 minutes before our drink order was taken, and there was no sign of the waitstaff. We had to ask to order food ourselves; an ashtray was requested and then forgotten. The food was okay, though the bread was half dried out.

Upon arrival, you are startled by the building visible from the bike path. Once inside, it is nicely decorated, though full of fake plants; it could have used a bit more life. Considering the location, there is also a battered picnic bench. That could definitely use a makeover too 😅 The food is fine for the price, but not exceptionally good. Also, not all ingredients are listed on the menu. Definitely a passing grade and worth a repeat visit, but there is certainly still work to be done!

We wanted chicken satay but it was sold out at 6:00 PM 🤭 dinner time. So we ordered pork medallions instead, admittedly only three pieces and nice and dry, but we could wash it down with pepper soup uhhh sauce for €3.50; if it runs out, just mix it with water 🙈. The other guy had Beaf at the Beach with Roquefort soup uhhh sauce for a whole 5 euros, ridiculous. The pepper sauce was soup too, haha! The schnitzels were nice and chewy and they also had a nice soup uhhh sauce with it. The hamburgers were fine after a whole day of boating; you can't really mess that up, but kids are easily satisfied. Ice cream afterwards at 7:00 PM? We thought so, haha… was sold out! The girl did her best but got slammed for serving incorrectly in public; you don't do that to your guests. They still have a lot of hospitality experience to learn. They won't see me here again, don't worry. 😦 bye bye!

Just had a drink; nice place by a small body of water. There was only one table left, everything else was reserved. That was strange though; we were there at 5:00 PM and several tables were reserved for after 6:00 PM. Several people who wanted a drink were turned away. A missed opportunity, I suppose, and slightly less revenue that day. A bit of a learning experience. Otherwise, super friendly waitresses and delicious cold beer.

We felt very comfortable. We were alone in the restaurant on a Tuesday evening, which created a very relaxed atmosphere. The service was very friendly and attentive. The drinks were delicious, and the background music was pleasant.

Definitely treated in an unfriendly manner. Our children were spoken to because they took a stool and asked not to stomp their feet due to potential sand getting into the shop. Clearly noticeable young staff wanting to go home early.

Had a bite to eat on this sunny terrace by the IJsselmeer. I have eaten here in the evening in the past and that was fine, unfortunately this flamkuchen was not good. The main cause: undercooked and also very unevenly baked. Too bad, because the main courses of other guests looked fine too.

We sat outside on the terrace here with a number of network members who come from all over the Netherlands. Fortunately, the weather was beautiful, which, together with the location, the delicious food, and not forgetting staff member Jasmijn, made this another fantastic gathering. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

April 2026: the boating season has started again. Stopped by @the Beach right away. The same friendliness and coziness. But am I seeing this correctly: the drinks menu seems more extensive. Summer 2025: It feels like coming home. Honest people with dishes that are just right. No frills, no oddities, just good. Wonderful evenings on the terrace or inside. And the spareribs are fantastic; the meat falls off the bone. But also the schnitzels, the satay... Actually, the whole menu is just good.

Really nice cafe on the beach side. Food was good and waitress was nice. They allowed us to take our large dogs inside and sit with us. The dogs even got a water bowl brought for them. The bench we were seated at was broken on the one side but was not an issue as they had plenty of chairs to pull up. The beach itself is a little disappointing and smelly but thats something out of their control. Would be an amazing cafe on a nicer beach.-

Super friendly service. Delicious food and drinks. No waiting time at this time of year. I would recommend that the owners improve the lighting and advertise in the parking lot. It's sure to be a goldmine in the summer, but in the spring, the friendly ladies are waiting for customers.

After a wonderful shopping spree in Bataviastad, our bellies were rumbling and we passed this charming and cozy restaurant on our way. We received a friendly welcome, and our dog was also very welcome. He was immediately well cared for; he was given a nice glass of water and a delicious cookie. We had a wonderful lunch there. Thank you so much for the excellent service. We will definitely be back if we're ever in the area again.

We were passing through and stumbled upon @the beach. I was able to make a reservation online right away. Excellent food, fast service, nice atmosphere, and great staff!

Great location, great service, good value for money

It was very peaceful. We had a delicious meal with the sun at our backs. I'm usually a bit skeptical about vegetarian options, but I highly recommend this vegan satay. The service was quick and friendly. The atmosphere was okay. The plastic plants and cushions were quite discolored by the sun. But that doesn't really matter.

Loud music, and I paid 3 euros for half a cup of coffee. Pretty expensive, but tasty is something else entirely.

Five people ate here. Two had steak on the beach, which was delicious. Three had Schnitzel Vienna. The owner came over to ask if we enjoyed it. We said the schnitzel was too dry, which was a shame because the combination of goat cheese and honey was unusual. He told us they use a different supplier. As compensation, we were offered a glass of wine, which we appreciated. The service was very friendly.
