Long story short: If price matters more to you than food quality, this place is a decent option. It was the first time I felt embarrassed toward my guests whom I brought to a restaurant; the starter says it all. The gambas, listed at €15.50, arrived in a tiny bowl. While the plate size doesn’t necessarily matter, the size and number of the prawns certainly do. These three prawns are as big as half a pinky — for €15.50. On top of that, the prawns seemed to come from a packet rather than fresh off the fish-auction. I nearly sank into my chair. And the bread? €7 — not home-baked and not even served warm. A disgrace. The main course was the Sukade. One expects a delicious plate of flavourful, slow-cooked chuck, but this turned out bland at best. The slow cook wasn’t ruined, but it was noticeably tasteless. The purée might also have been unseasoned. Again — a clear disgrace. We skipped dessert — given the particularly sub-par starter and main — and went elsewhere. Oh, and the wine? €12.50 per glass. In places like Troef, Bistro de la Mer, etc., you’ll find cheaper and better. No — what once was the ‘Wijmpje Beukers’ is no longer. Apparently there is more focus on the commercial aspect whereas this place once was about the neighbourhood in De Pijp. It symbolises so much of Amsterdam’s hospitality scene, but this took it just a little further. I genuinely felt swindled. Two stars only for the attentive staff — the service was fine and the atmosphere was actually quite nice. If you don’t care much about the food, but want to spend cents — then this place is a match; apparently the owners think the same.

Oh, Wijmpje Beukers, what a treat! We had a great spot at the back of the restaurant, and even though it was quite busy, the staff kept everything under control. Fast service, delicious food, and an espresso martini for dessert. The foam on top is beautiful—highly recommended!

Slightly overrated. Food is good, not super special and considering the place itself I do believe the prices are at the high side. With normal wine and water you easily spent 100 euro per person. It’s super crowed, not so much space between the tables (read super super packed) hence quite noisy. Food wise ok. Vibe is good though but it’s more a cafe vibe than a restaurant vibe.

Cozy atmosphere and great wine recommendations. The carpaccio is highly recommended! Truly delicious. We enjoyed the location and the food, but the main course portion was a bit smaller than expected for the price.

It is definitely a must go place if you want to eat well in Amsterdam. Dutch vibe with excellent service. We had a very good time. They advised us well on the wine and the food was really good. I especially enjoyed the pairing with the dessert.

In the heart of De Pijp, we really like this restaurant. Especially when the weather is nice, the terrace they have is a nice place for dinner and drinks. Their menu is quite short but all their options we tried a were really good. We had the beef steak and the fish, we also had the pimientos de padrón and some fries as sides.

Good atmosphere and playlist. But the food isn't that great... Very salty dishes, loaded with cheese or mayonnaise, which made us sick... Expensive and not very good. I don't recommend it.

Crazy good food, lovely warm service and unbelievably good wines. Where can you buy Saint Veran for €50? Stunningly good.

Samen met mijn partner d.d. 29 mei gegeten bij Wijmpje Beukers. Mijn partner koos voor het visgerecht. Echter de vis was niet meer vooradig en besloot het vegetarische gerecht te nemen. Dit bestond uit een paar plakken courgette met parmezaanse kaas. Niet echt geweldig. Ik nam de biefstuk met worteltjes, mille feuille van aardappel en een hollandaise sausage en jus de veau. De mille feuille van aardappel is natuurlijk gewoon een gratin van aardappel maar deze had een keiharde korst waar je bijna je tanden en kiezen op stuk beet. De sauzen kwamen rechtstreeks uit een pakje van Knorr. Kortom het eten was niet om over naar huis te schrijven. Daarentegen was de bediening prima.

We ate here on Saturday 31 May. The main menu consists of 3 options: vegetarian, fish and meat dish. The fish dish was no longer available. We chose the vegetarian option which consisted of slices of courgette with Parmesan cheese. Not great. My table companion ate steak with a mille-feuille of potato, carrots, hollandaise sauce and jus de veau. The mille-feuille of potato is of course just a gratin but this time with a topping that you almost broke your teeth on. The sauces come straight from a Knorr packet. This place is not recommended. The service was extremely friendly. But then again, you don't go out to eat just for the friendly service staff.

Het was helaas teleurstellend. Het begon al bij binnenkomst, een donkere pijpenla. De muren zijn bedekt met donkerbruine laag verf. Zelfs de ‘kunst’ aan die muren heeft dezelfde kleur Bijna alles wat we aten leek door een blender gehaald. De lamsnek was zo klein gemaakt dat een mes niet nodig was. De vis was te droog . De groente leek wel een babyhapje. De opmaak van de gerechten was ook niet aantrekkelijk. Kortom, hier komen we niet meer terug.

This is a special place, located in the prettiest part of De Pijp. The café is dark, cosy, with shimmering beams of light from the semi-open kitchen. The food is a unique combination of comforting and elevated. The service is friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the offerings. Note: they now take reservations! Go!

What an enrichment! I had previously received recommendations about Wijmpje Beukers. My visit exceeded all expectations. Amidst a multitude of many establishments with pretensions in Amsterdam, I come across an opportunity where being authentic prevails. This is where hospitality and culinary authenticity are practiced! Here the entire team makes it happen with full dedication! I did have some questions about a “Tarte Tatin” as a starter. Many chefs are more likely to forget the name of the dish than if they can actually make it as intended. But my curiosity was rewarded! A beautiful taste experience where I could clearly identify with the chef's intentions. The other dishes on the menu have more than invited me to come and taste them again soon. The main course: “steak” had a perfect cooking. And that's what it's all about in the end. I also felt differently in a star restaurant. Compliments Chef! If I already give 5 stars on Google, then I can probably give a critical note, right? Here: Less sauce with the dishes. The taste of the main components and preparation is actually unique. The patron at Wijmpje Beukers can be incredibly proud of his/her entire Equippe! What an incredibly beautiful establishment!

It's really unbelievable, a 10 +!!! Never had such a good and tasty carpaccio before, taste sensation and so tender, what a surprise. The steak main course was also phenomenally good. In addition to the good atmosphere and the nice crowd, the food continues to amaze you. Wine fits well and is at the right temperature in a good wine glass I think Mrs. Grimm from Het Parool would have given it a 9.5 A 10 from me You have to go here!

If you are visiting Amsterdam, this is a place that is not to be missed. The food is imaginative and delicious, the cocktail and wine list are extensive, and the service is just what one wants in a restaurant. After dinner, move to the bar for additional culinary treats!

One of the best on the cooledt neighborhood. Tables are maybe very close to each other but the food and service is outstanding. I would come back

Fantastic, you can't make a reservation here. So you come by spontaneously, you see a free table and you know your evening is going well. Delicious original dishes, sweet service, nice wines, perfect!

Very friendly staff, always welcoming and cheerful! Cozy atmosphere in the restaurant and nice music, love it! The staff can give you good advice about wine or choosing from the menu, which is really great because you don't have that everywhere in Amsterdam. All in all, definitely recommended, you can go here with your first date, in-laws or friends, everyone will leave here happy!!

Tiny portions. Had the seabass and fries. The fish was really good but the fries were not good. I could have got atleast two main courses. But i grabbed a kebab on the corner after the meal instead.

Eetcafe Wijmpje Beukers Upon entering you are immediately welcomed, very friendly staff, good service and we immediately had a table for 3 people👌 You cannot make a reservation so keep that in mind😉 I think this is a good concept, as I am regularly late with making a reservation. The interior has changed, dark colors, nice atmosphere, music available, but the box at the back of the restaurant was not on. Food was good, my dishes were a bit too overpowering in taste. The cauliflower had the right bite but the sauce was too sour and the smoky flavor of the Kohlrabi could have been a little more subtle🙂 But despite the areas for improvement, I can definitely recommend this restaurant!

Alles klopt aan dit restaurant! Bediening, gastvrijheid, muziek en niet te vergeten de gerechten. Alles is top. De sfeer van een eetcafé met gerechten op sterrenniveau. Topavond gehad.

In terms of quality food, Wijmpje Beukers is much more than a cafe. Their vegetable dishes are among the best in Amsterdam. I like to eat meat and fish in moderation, but here I almost always eat vegetables, because it is much more difficult to create an exciting and tasty vegetable dish than frying a piece of meat or fish in a pan with butter. You can wake me up at any time of the night for their salsify and Jerusalem artichoke.

Intriguing cuisine with amazing flavors

Wijmpje Beukers is een toprestaurant dat zich vermomd heeft als een gezellig eetcafé. Zodra je de kaart ziet weet je eigenlijk al genoeg: een zeer beperkt aantal gerechten, alles huisgemaakt en van zeer hoog niveau. Met chef Daan afgesproken dat we een proeverij zouden krijgen met gerechten naar zijn keus “to share”. Nou dat hebben we geweten: op die manier is zo’n beetje de hele kaart voorbij gekomen en hebben we echt genoten van wat hij voor ons heeft gemaakt. Dit is echt een top restaurant waar alles klopt: de sfeer, de bediening en bovenal de kwaliteit!

Had one night in Amsterdam due to flight delay. Ate dinner here and it was fantastic. Fantastic wine menu and all at what felt a very good price . I had the bavette which was cooked perfectly, sauce was very good. Staff were Friendly and offered English menus and were lovely.

Wijmpje Beukers is lekker ongedwongen gezellig en vooral heel erg lekker eten. Niet reserveren is altijd goed, dan kan je spontaan aanschuiven en go with the flow. Maar dan het eten,.. echt heel erg lekker. Je proeft dat chef Daan er met liefde, kennis en kunde, kookt! Het bediendend personeel onder de leiding van Job, is vriendelijk en toegankelijk. Geen arrogantie maar een fijn en warm welkom. Echt een aanrader voor een ontspannend, spontaan, avondje gezellig maar vooral lekker eten!

Aardige bediening. Leuk ambiance. Mooi opgemaakte gerechten met prachtige combinatie kleuren. Leuke kaart. Smaak valt tegen. Het lijkt alsof kok graag aparte combinaties zoekt maar qua bij elkaar passen van smaken telkens erin faalt. Bij de bieten voorgerecht past hoeveelheid pompoen pitten, pittige rode pepers en mierikswortel niet goed bij de gemarineerde aardbeien en bieten. Ander voorgerecht is veel te pittig qua toegevoegde olie. Bij de hoofdgerecht spitskool alweer overvloed, deze keer saus en een gebrek aan een ingrediënt om de smaak mee te neutraliseren. Toetje heeft noten met overvloed pinda smaak. Al met al net niet. Terwijl presentatie top is. Jammer. Restaurant ziet er erg goed uit. Met een kok die meer over hoeveelheden en smaak combinaties weet zou het veel meer kunnen zijn.

Qualità del cibo eccellente, servizio impeccabile, bellissima atmosfera. Forse un po’ cattiva l’acustica ambientale che rende l’ambiente poco favorevole alla conversazione, tuttavia è di gran lunga preferibile gustare i sapori della carne e contemplare la rarissima bellezza del cameriere biondo il cui aspetto cancella ogni pensiero per lasciare spazio ai sogni.

Si presenta come un normale pub, ma i piatti sono molto più elaborati e costosi. I piatti principali mi sono piaciuti molto, ben presentati e gustosi. Meno i dolci che erano troppo grassi per i nostri gusti. Ma è un giudizio personale.

What an incredible experience! We were pleasantly surprised by the flavour combinations and quality of every dish. Two dishes in particular stood out to us - the torched mackerel and the octopus. Daan and Tom are two incredibly talented young chefs. You can feel the passion that they have for creating great food and sharing it with others. They also kindly gave us many recommendations for other restaurants in Amsterdam during our visit. 10/10 experience, definitely worth a visit (or two!)

Een verborgen PAREL in de Pijp!!! Wat een SUPER LEUKE plek!!! Via een site over de leukste restaurants in de Pijp gevonden. De beschrijving van de formule sprak ons erg aan, dus maar eens gaan proberen vandaag. Gouden greep! Wat een super leuke, gezellige, gastvrije ontvangst en bediening, ZO LEUK!! En erg lekker gegeten ook. Ook de muziekkeuze sprak ons enorm aan en kom je niet vaak meer tegen zo. Houden zo. Wij komen absoluut weer terug!!De fietstocht uit Amsterdam Osdorp meer dan waard. Warme complimenten en groeten, Ronald & Betania.

Super cozy atmosphere, great service, very tasty food.

Op aanraden van vrienden hier gegeten. Erg onaardig behandeld door een mannelijk personeelslid. Je kunt niet reserveren, prima, maar er werd mij erg onvriendelijk verteld dat ik nog niet aan tafel mocht tot mijn gezelschap er was “regels zijn regels”. Dezelfde jongen zei toen we de rekening vroegen dat hij die niet brengt en dat we maar even naar de bar moesten lopen zodat andere mensen alvast konden gaan zitten. Ik vind dat geen stijl. Het eten was heel erg lekker en de service van de dames uiterst vriendelijk maar de behandeling aan het begin en eind vind ik echt niet kunnen.

One of my favorite spots in De Pijp and all of Amstedam. Great food, great ambiance, lovely service - very attentive, lots of eye to detail. And the menu changes frequently so you have a chance to try out different dishes weekly. It's a home away from home!

Heerlijk gegeten! Bediening is vriendelijk en snelle service (soms iets te, we hadden brood vooraf nog niet op en hoofdgerecht kwam eraan) maar al met al een dikke aanrader.

Heerlijk gegeten met mooie wijnen en uiterst vriendelijke bediening dat alles voor een zachte prijs. Enige nadeel je ka niet reserveren zodat je dus om 17.30 al aan tafel zit of anders erg lang moet wachten. Vega opties ook erg lekker!!

This is one of my favorite places in Amsterdam. It’s super cozy, and a real Amsterdam feel. The food is great. Added plus is that they don’t take reservations so you actually have a chance to get in.

Heerlijke sfeer en een absoluut uitmuntende keuken voor een eerlijke prijs. De sauzenmaker is een tovenaar! Wij keren graag en veel terug.

Absolutely amazing place. In the local area and never had heard of it until my friend mentioned to go. They don't take reservations, but worth the wait. Had a glass of vino at the bar, the host is onto it making sure she knew your order meaning you were next in line. Then the food, oh the food. Bang, amazing. Get in my belly. The wine so complimentary. An amazing night, amazing ambience. Get here ASAP.

Deze gasten snappen het; het klopt gewoon. Goed eten en het personeel is snel en vriendelijk. Knap ook hoe die tent altijd vol zit.

Gisteren hier gegeten, eventjes wachten aan de bar en dan zo aan tafel! Vriendelijk en oplettend personeel en heerlijk gegeten. Erg leuk plekje.

Sterrenniveau lekker. Gele biet, opperdoezer, BBQ bloemkool? hoe verzin je het!, maar wat een geweldige traktatie voor je smaakpapillen. Net als hun vlees en vis. Alles klopt hier. De uiterst vriendelijke bedrijfsleider die je meteen een "je voelt je thuis" gevoel geeft en alles van wijnen weet. Zeer vriendelijk personeel en een keukenbrigade die op zeer hoog niveau met een brede glimlach kookt. Wat een geweldige avond was dit. Doen doen doen! je zal er geen spijt van krijgen. Tot heel snel weer Toppers!
