Small Indonesian restaurant. We ordered nasi goreng and gado gado, among other things. The nasi was disappointing; at the very least, a few more pieces/slices of cucumber could have been added. The nasi was also bland. The gado gado was okay. If you're looking for a truly budget-friendly meal, it's doable; if you've had experience with other Indonesian restaurants, it's quite disappointing.

Finally, we stumbled upon a genuine Indonesian food joint! Initially, we hadn’t planned to visit, but our insatiable hunger compelled us to come here. The place is compact and cramped, so if you’re traveling with a smaller group, you might want to consider sharing a table with strangers. Once you’re seated, you’ll place your order at the bar and settle the bill. The wait can be quite long, so be prepared for a bit of patience if you’re extremely hungry. On the taste front, the food is absolutely delicious and reminiscent of home. It’s even better than any Indonesian restaurant I’ve been to before. However, the portion sizes are quite small, and the pricing is surprisingly high. It caught me off guard, but I suppose it’s worth it.

I came here craving some Asian flavors in Amsterdam, but sadly left a bit disappointed. The mee goreng was dry, the nasi goreng felt bland, and overall nothing really stood out. Considering the higher prices, I was expecting more in both taste and presentation. Hopefully, the dishes can be improved because Indonesian food has so much rich flavor to offer. But thanks to the coffee ☕️

This restaurant is very small and it has a little outside seating, but it was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for a nice little lunch or dinner.

It's underrated they have less review than other Indonesian restaurants in Amsterdam, I had their soto ayam, the stuffed shredded chicken in sticky rice is also yum, and it's easy to carry and eat when travel.

Small, cozy restaurant! Peace and quiet in the hustle and bustle of the city. We had satay skewers (lamb and chicken), freshly prepared and very tasty. You won't feel overeaten afterward ;-)

Severly disappointed with the food. Came here because of the good reviews, only to be served with very very bland and overpriced food. Found hair in my food as well. The restaurant was quite phobic. The severs in the restaurant was quite unfriendly, they were complaining about customers in Indonesian not being aware that we can understand what they are saying. If you are looking for affordable Indonesian food in Amsterdam, I highly highly recommend Koeah instead!

Small intimate setting, not much seating, but good food. I could've eaten my weight in Lempers and Bapaos. First time having Indonesian and can't wait to eat it again!

One of the Indonesian culinary delights that you can look for when traveling to Europe, specifically in Amsterdam. The menu variants sold are of course Indonesian, starting from gado-gado, meatballs, noodles to fried rice. The owner is friendly and quick to order without waiting long for it to be delivered

I was simply going to write “speechless, amazing, 5 stars.” Then the clean dishes were lifted from the table and the memory lingered longer, unrushed to depart its perch on my tongue. The view a feast for the heart, the food a symphony for the senses. Yes it’s really good. And the green chilli table sambal was 10/10

Way too expensive Even extra chips cost money. Only vegetable in the Nasi Gorang was the cabbage. Not worth 1/2 the money

The Es Cendol not authentic and not good

Tasteless nasi goreng and pretty pricey. The portion itself is so little I was so surprised. We ordered 2x nasi goreng, bami goreng and bihoen goreng all tasteless, sorry to say. The one we brought home gets more than the one served there. Not sure how they survive so far.

The Surinamese sandwiches were good. The roti, on the other hand, was with curry instead of masala and green beans instead of long beans. Shame. Furthermore, a fine eatery.

Very disappointed with the food quality. Ordered Bee Hoon goreng and Nasi Goreng Ayam, it taste blend and full of white pepper to create taste. Stay clear of this restaurant for Indo food. The Wok fast food joint is way way better.

Their foods are quite tasteless and bland. What’s making it worse is their service, especially the chinese guy. He’s only kind to white people but not to fellow Indonesian.

It's food. Quite expensive food at that. It may or may not fill you up. But it will not make you happy. Really a waste of money, if you ask me. You know those Asian restaurants that call something a vegetable dish, but then It's only bean sprouts and green beans? That. Would not recommend, even though the location is really cute.

Why just one star overall ? Because the dish served even though it was ok, is not a Nasi Goreng. Nasi Goreng is not some kind of fried rice with bits of chicken.

For Indonesian cuisine outside Indonesia I would refer this restaurant to anyone around Amsterdam. No wonder it was awarded two times for "Where Chefs Eat". It was established in 1982 by mother and daughter who still serving to date. You will find many typical Indonesia hot sauces like Sambal Belibis, sambal hijau, etc. In colder time better find time to be seated inside. It was nice to chat and eat here with friends enjoying delicacies while listening to original Indonesia soft songs. We are sure returning back sometime. It was very appreciated they gave free refill of hot water when we ordered hot tea.

As a Singaporean, Indonesian food is one of our favourites. However there are a couple of pointers : Attitude - not fantastic Soto Ayam - soup is warm and the portion is small Mee Goreng - not too bad Salted fish fried rice - tasteless Cendol - small cup but taste good Other than that.. I believe you can get better Indonesian food in Amsterdam. 😅

Went there on Saturday and the place is always full with customers. It's a nice place to have Indonesian food and it tastes so good. You can have your meal inside or at the terrace. They have normal tables for group or a high chair for single travelers or couples. The kitchen is so close to you so you can see and here how your food is made. Make your order and pay in advance at the counter. Easy to find, in small alley with alot of restaurants, and not to far the Amsterdam central station.

Food was tasteless and tasted like heated supermarket noodles. Place looks authentic but it’s not. Overpriced and in the middle of the very touristic Dam square neighbourhood.

Makanan yang enak sekali. Authentic Indonesian food. Typical dishes like Soto Ayam - chicken soup, Bakmi Goreng and Nasi Goeng - fried noodles and fried rice, Sate - barbecued skewers with lamb meet or chicken and peanut sauce ... can be ordered.The restaurant is relatively small, the owners are nice. It feels a little bit like being in Indonesia.

Disappointed by my lunch here. Food had little to no flavor and they were only accepting cash. Staff also wasn’t very welcoming and they didn’t open on time. Maybe if I had picked other menu items, it might have been better.

Redelijke prijzen en goed eten

Pranzo veloce, menu simplice, cibo buono, posto curato e pulitissimo e ottimo servizio. Perfetto per chi vuole sedersi in una strada tranquilla, nonstante il centro busy, per fare un pranzo al vuolo. Il cibo arriva davvero in 5 minuti! Li si mangia bene, con un buon prezzo, circa 13 euro per piatti. Hanno alcuni opzioni vegani e vegetariani, i principali piatti sono noodles di riso o uova e il riso fritto. Non hanno alcoolici.

Zeer gezellig klein restaurant in het centrum van de stad met zeer veel keuze aan gerechten en zeer vriendelijke en snelle bediening! De smaak en kwaliteit van het eten waren zeer goed en de prijs was echt schappelijk voor wat je aangeboden kreeg...

Really comfortable atmosphere with delicious food and fast service. We got lunch and the restaurant had a great location, so it feels cosy yet it is still close to everything. Staff was really sweet! Will most definitely come back, especially to get their Lemper!

The place isn‘t that spacious (but then so many restaurants with great food aren‘t!). The food came fast and tasted good.
