Toko Manis in Jordaan

This is how Indian food should taste. And I know because I grew up with it. Been there at least 10 times and never disappointed

Delicious, authentic Indonesian food. The sayur lodeh ade me feel like I was a kid again.

New chef, very satisfied, the food was sublime! Last night we had nasi rames with rendang and smoor, really flavorful and tender. The Ikan pepesan was also delicious. We will definitely be back and hopefully we can pick up some large orders on the 22nd.

We really wanted to have some Indonesian food while in Amsterdam, and this place had some super positive reviews. This was our first time, and the gentleman behind the counter was incredibly friendly, walked us through everything, and gave us some nice recommendations to get the most out of the menu. You can tell that this place enjoys a local vibe without worrying about frills, and the food resulted in the perfect takeaway evening. You should give it a try and we’ll definitely be back!

New owner. Really awful food. So tough. Sorry, but it's just not acceptable. And it's gotten a lot more expensive. I'll never go back. Such a shame. It used to be such a good takeout restaurant.

It used to be great, until they decided to probably replace the cook and start selling smaller meals at a higher price. Dry and tough rending that used to be great, now inedible... a shame.

This is really indescribable....it goes straight into the garbage bin. The vegetables have not been washed, they are full of sand and I have a pebble between my molars! Completely jerky.

The food was super, super tasty this week. Delicious Daging Smoor. Too bad the older lady behind the counter couldn't really reach the containers, so my meal was floating in sauce. That really wasn't nice. But I have eaten more often and always a kind word, and quality food with a delicious Indonesian taste. As connoisseurs, we come back here often and happily.

This is the first time I tried this place, maybe it’s my bad luck but I ended up with a food that I couldn’t eat. The brown rice was very dry and probably a left over from the previous day. The beef with sambal was sooo salty, this is the main reason couldn’t eat it. Aubergine was very tasteless too. It was also strange to me that prices are not visible in the store and I was only offered a 15 euro plate. It was mostly rice and I don’t think these portions deserve 15 for a takeaway food. There are so many other good alternatives in the neighborhood for more reasonable prices. Maybe it’s my luck for today, based on my experience I don’t recommend to eat there.

Was my first time in this restaurant. Was received very hastily by a Chinese looking lady. There was no one behind me so why was I in such a hurry? A friendly young man took over and I give him 10 stars for the service! Unfortunately the Chinese Lady took over again! Bad experience! This food has nothing to do with Indonesian food! The peanut sauce tasted Chinese! And the food tasted like bad Chinese too! I live on the same street. This was my first and last time as a customer here! Really, really bad! No Indonesian food! Anyone who likes Chinese will probably be happy here. Not me.

Best place in the Jordaan 🥹 truly the sweetest ladies & the tastiest food!!!!!! Go - my usual is the fried rice, tofu, tempeh, eggplant, & peanut salad. Couldn’t be better.

Wouldn’t recommend it - the lady serving immediately upsold us quite manipulatively by giving us 2 options either 15 or 16.5 euros (although there are clearly more and cheaper options on the menu hidden by the door), and when I tried to explain that I was trying to order a cheaper option, she beraded us and we couldn’t change it. They don’t accept card and the food was mid.

Literally a takeout. The atmosphere is lack lustre but do not let that put you off. The food is amazing! Good sized meal of either one meat one veg or two meats two veg. Wished they could be flexi with a meat AND two veg meals, too.

Plenty of dishes for both veg and meat lovers, and you can pick and choose multiple. Vibrant and healthy food, very reasonable price and the lady who served me was friendly. Some seats at the window, too. Recommended for travellers needing something filling and healthy!

Very friendly & welcoming staff. As we are Asians who have just travelled around Great Britain, Ireland and Belgium the last month, we really miss our rice. We had the two meat and two vegetables option. The eggplants /aubergine was amazing. The food was heated up really well. Very delicious and warming meal. Water was provided without being asked. Super goed Indonesisch eten in de Jordaan. Sateh Kambing een aanrader is wel vaak later op de avond op dus wees er snel bij.

Only for to go, you know take away. Good kitchen varity in Indonesian dishes and a fine and friendly service of the staff. Yeah, got to come more often here. Tastes are good.

I came with a group and we all got the option with 2 meat and 2 vegetables and a few of us got the extra skewer and egg. All the options were delicious and you can’t go wrong picking any of the available options. Very full by the end of meal so we can say that it is an excellent portion size. The eggplant was a particular standout. The restaurant is in a quiet street when we went around 5pm on a Wednesday. Only a few other patrons had takeaway while we ate. The staff was very friendly and happy to help us with our food. A recommend if you have the time to go for a walk away from the city centre. There’s also some good apple pie dessert just down the street

Heel erg vriendelijk personeel, zijn in voor praatje en geven leuk advies! Eten was zeer lekker, veel vega(n) opties. Satésaus echt op de Indonesische manier, erg lekker. Overall echt een aanrader!

Voor de verjaardag van mijn Indische vader eten gehaald. We wilde losse gerechten, maar dat werd door de verkoopster sterk afgeraden. Ik ben wel eens aardiger behandeld als klant. Dus werd het nasi rames. Inderdaad hele grote porties, met veel eten. Maar mijn bejaarde ouders eten niet meer zo veel. Ons gaat het ook vooral om de smaak. De smaak vond ik - en mijn ouders gemiddeld -. Ik zou er mijn eten niet meer halen. Ik denk dat het eten er voor de gemiddelde Nederlanders wel lekker is. Voor doorgewinterde Indo's niet.

Cocina indonesia muy gustosa y variada. Original. Todo un descubrimiento. 10 € por un planto hondo bien servido es una buena relación precio/calidad.

Super lekker eten! Voor 12 euro heb je een bak met rijst, twee groenten en twee vlees en/of vis, zo'n maaltijd is makkelijk genoeg voor 2 personen dus het is zeker je geld waard! Voor 2 euro extra heb je er een gekookt ei en een saté'tje bij. 5/5

Kom hier al jaren, een van de betere in amsterdam. Ook hun catering voor feestjes etc is aan te raden :)

Food is not bad. Opening hours are not reliable, they generally close earlier than the indicated hour.

Pasamos un mes en una casa de intercambio de estar en la misma calle como este de Indonesia para llevar, así que fuimos dos veces. Habiendo vivido en Amsterdam dos veces antes, teníamos expectativas bastante altas para calidad de pequeño llevar tiendas como esta. Está bien = si Manis tienes hambre y prisa, pero no esperes nada más que eso. La comida era servida fría (afortunadamente, un microondas en casa), los fideos eran difíciles, las especias y la ausente, las raciones eran muy cutre. Hay un montón de buenos lugares para conseguir barato en el Jordaan come sabroso. Este no es uno de ellos.

Mi compañero y yo decidimos pedir comida en este restaurante. Elegí un poco de carne de cabra (Sate Kambing), las porciones son muy pequeñas para lo que pagas, pero que ni siquiera estaba el principal problema mi cabra estaba mayormente negro/quemados. Mi pareja también era bastante entusiasta no sobre su pollo. También pidió algunas verduras, tomamos un bocado cada y el más a la izquierda a la basura bin. Caro y la comida no era muy buena en nuestra experiencia.

Este lugar sufre un poco de incoherencia. A veces es muy buena, y otras veces sabe como fue improvisado sin pagar ninguna atención. Puedes elegir lo que quieres desde el mostrador de delicatessen, y tienen picante o suave, vegetariana o varias opciones de carnes. Los precios son un poco elevados para lo que es, pero la calidad es generalmente vale la pena.
