Ekmekci Eindhoven in Centrum

Ekmekci almost made me fat 😂. I used to come here so often for a while that I think I tried almost everything on the menu. Eventually, I decided to say goodbye, because I really needed to lose some weight. I went back recently after a long time and man… it was just incredibly tasty again! Especially the Chocomel with coconut milk, truly delicious. 😍 It just remains a nice place I love to visit. Just a little less often now. 😂

It is a shame that there are so many bad reviews among them. We do not share this experience at all. The staff was friendly and spoke excellent Dutch. The food arrived very quickly. And it tasted delicious! When we sat down, the waitress noticed that the table was still dirty, so it was cleaned neatly. There was also pleasant music playing. Thank you and see you next time.

We had a super tasty sandwich! Everything was wonderfully fresh and flavorful. We found the price-quality ratio to be very good. Definitely recommended, and we would love to come back again!

It was a terrible experience. Our food arrived 45 minutes late, and even after we pointed this out, they used a disrespectful tone. They employ staff who don't know how to speak to customers.

We ordered 2 gözleme and a sandwich. We had to wait 45 minutes for our food. When we informed the staff in a normal and polite manner that our order was delayed, we were spoken to in a very rude tone. They even falsely accused us of shouting at them. When we went to the cashier to discuss this, they also made mocking remarks and said: "You might as well include that in your complaint." It is a real shame that such a good establishment has such employees. We will never, ever come back here. The fact that they treated us so poorly, offered no apology whatsoever, and then falsely accused us is truly unacceptable.

We were here today and our orders took a very long time to arrive. When we pointed this out, we were spoken to in a very disrespectful manner. Furthermore, we were falsely accused of shouting at the staff. When we went to the cashier to discuss this calmly, we were addressed in a very mocking and disrespectful way. We were even laughed at in front of other people, and the way we were spoken to was absolutely unacceptable. As customers, we have the right to ask about an order that is taking far too long and to indicate when we are dissatisfied with something. We do not have to be treated this way for that. We found it particularly upsetting that we were mocked in public and treated so disrespectfully. This is absolutely no way to treat customers.

I visited here recently; I have never seen such bad service in the Netherlands as I did in Eindhoven. You hire people who don't even speak decent Dutch, and they make a big deal out of every little thing. They are rude, shout, and have 0% respect. I strongly advise against going there. Unless you want to be treated disrespectfully and/or feel like you are not welcome there.

We ordered and waited 45 minutes for it to arrive. Secondly, I had to get everything myself, things like sugar and napkins. The bread was dry, and the service was terrible...

Unfortunately, we tried it twice, but it is absolutely not recommended. The first time we came here (from Tilburg) for breakfast, precisely because it was supposed to be an ekmekçi. At least you expect fresh bread! Unfortunately, the breakfast was a huge disappointment. The bread clearly came from the freezer and was still ice cold. For €18, we got a few pathetic slices: one cucumber, one cheese, and a few tomatoes. Also a pathetic little pot of honey, strawberries, a few olives, and something else (which we don't like)... For that price, you really expect something more (alternative choices and, above all, quality). The tea tasted like nothing either. The omelet was dry and without salt or spices, meaning it also had little flavor. When we mentioned this, the response we received was: “Do you want salt? Here is salt and pepper... everyone has their own taste, sorry, it will be better next time.” That is why we tried it a second time (yesterday). But honestly, nothing had changed at all. The bread was supposedly reheated, but still did not taste as you would expect from a real ekmekçi. The small simits were clearly not fresh. The omelet and other dishes were also bland and tasteless again. In addition, we found the service very disappointing. When you need a staff member, they seem mainly preoccupied with themselves and there is little attention paid to the customer. The tea was brought late and we had to wait several times. After two visits, I can unfortunately only say: way too expensive for what you get, little taste, no fresh products, and mediocre service. For €18, you really expect a well-presented and tasty breakfast. Unfortunately, it is absolutely not worth the effort. Honestly, I do not expect this feedback to be listened to or that anything will actually be done about it. That is a shame, because with a little attention to quality and customer satisfaction, there is a lot to improve here.

The food was really NOT tasty. The chicken was way too spicy and inedible. We had the chicken katjang. The bun tasted like nothing; all you tasted was a lot of spicy chicken. This is really NOT recommended.

Tasty food and a nice atmosphere, staff are friendly, only the music is a bit loud and the food is really expensive, but otherwise it's good though.

Really bad service, if the chef doesn’t come out of the kitchen none of the waiters are paying attention to the costumers needs. I placed the same order online. The payment was successful but there was “again” a fail in the placing of the order. So I placed the same order at two different waiters and I got the mistaken order. Waited half an hour for a simple order.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the breakfast at Ekmekci. We were particularly disappointed by the quality and quantity. We received only two slices of cucumber, and in our opinion, the bread was also very sparse. The egg and omelet were not cooked properly and lacked flavor. Additionally, we received a few small bowls containing jam and honey, some olives, and a little cream cheese. We also found the quality of the honey to be very poor. For breakfast, you expect fresh products, plenty of bread, and above all, well-prepared dishes with flavor. Unfortunately, we did not experience that here. When you consider what you ultimately get for the amount you pay, we certainly do not think it is proportionate. For us, this breakfast was disappointing, and we would not recommend it.

Service was slow. Our food was brought to the wrong table every time, the food was tasteless or too salty, we had to ask for tea three times and then eventually had to walk over ourselves to have it refilled. What is on the menu is not reflected in the actual breakfast that is served. Not recommended. Utrecht is a better location with good and fast service and you get what you order.

I specifically gave five stars so my review would appear at the top. My wife and I went there for the first time today. I will share my completely objective observations. Because we are Turkish, we specifically look for Turkish restaurants and want to eat halal products. We researched online and went there for this purpose. My notes: The staff are definitely not waiters; they are 18-year-old youths. They seriously need training. We ordered gözleme (Turkish flatbread). The dough was pre-made phyllo dough, so we ate it, but I don't know how we ate it. I'll open a separate parenthesis for the simit (Turkish bagel) 😑 It was a rock-hard dough. They heated it up a bit and brought it back, and it was even harder. The most common product, the tea, was incredibly bad. In this country, which is a connoisseur of cheese, we ate, or rather couldn't eat, the worst and saltiest cheese. We were most upset about this. 4 olives, 2 tomatoes, 2 cucumbers, 2 cubes of cheese, and incredibly bad honey... Unfortunately, there is no direct correlation between the quality of the products and the quality of service and the price. There's an inverse relationship 😒 When paying the bill, the cashier kindly gave a 10% discount and said she would relay these complaints to the boss. I wanted to share my observations objectively. Unfortunately, a business like this doesn't deserve such a situation. I don't know how aware the boss is of this situation. I hope he sees this and takes action. 🙂

They only give one sugar cube with difficulty. No salt, tomatoes, shaved, many workers, no one looking after them, they've put a drop of butter in a drop of honey, but the gözleme is good, no complaints, solid.

Put in the car for half an hour to get breakfast. When we arrived, we were told we couldn't order until after half an hour, even though they have been open since 9:00 AM. Terrible!

Picked something up here today to take away. First of all, really way too expensive for what you get... The sandwich was really too small for that price. Then, a latte macchiato with coconut milk where the cup wasn't even full... And that costs €5.50! It wasn't even tasty because there was way too much coffee... Then you pay an extra €1 for the coconut milk, of which apparently only a tiny bit is used. This is a real rip-off; we were planning to have breakfast here sometime, but after this experience, you will never see us again.

Had a super tasty watermelon-strawberry drink with stuffed potato pesto. The service was fast and the staff were friendly.

Not bad. The gözleme (Turkish flatbread) was delicious. However, the price is a bit high overall; you can have a better buffet breakfast elsewhere for that price. The full breakfast menu only included two tomatoes and two slices of cucumber. The cheese was tiny, just two or two cubes. The white cheese looked like it had been sitting for a while, its shape had changed. The stale éclairs were served reheated. The simit (Turkish bagel) wasn't bad. The only good thing was that there were plenty of eggs. The tea was in a large glass and well-brewed. Also, the seats were covered in food scraps and crumbs, and were all stained. It had a neglected feel to it. Overall, it wasn't bad, but unfortunately, I won't be coming back.

I don't often write reviews, but I am happy to do so to provide feedback/tips for the company; The music was playing too loudly and it was quite cold inside (some people were even wearing coats > March). The food was disappointing compared to our expectations and the photos..

We ordered Chicken Pesto and received the wrong kind. When we asked about it, we simply said they were out of pesto and the chef simply used a different sauce without consulting us. Our food arrived before our drinks, and we even had to wait 10 minutes for our drinks afterward. We didn't receive a fork, knife, or napkin with our food until we asked about it. The service was simply slow and unprofessional, and the music was way too loud.

The missing menus couldn't be delivered immediately. We had to call back for that. Ultimately, it was delivered three hours later.

Ordered 2 chicken donor kapsalons. The fries were rock hard, and you had to search for the donor chicken, so little. When I mentioned it at checkout, all I got was an apology, and that was it. That wasn't something I'd repeat the last time I visited.

Be careful while eating, as there may be glass in the food. Pay close attention to the tableware. We reported this issue to the manager. One broken glass was replaced with a smaller one. The drink was simply poured over instead of replaced, despite the risk of shards of glass. This is an extreme dining experience: delicious, but dangerous. Looking for a thrill? Then you've come to the right place.

If you'd like a good Turkish breakfast in the morning, right in the center of Eindhoven, this place is highly recommended! It's a place with very friendly people. We'd also like to thank Nevra for the great atmosphere!

I had a chicken piri piri sandwich with pesto mayo. It was awful. It was more like a vegetable sandwich with a few chicken pieces. It wasn't tasty either. I didn't even try the pesto sauce. Mezze was served with simit that wasn't fresh. Mezze was all mayonnaise. It was truly awful. Don't expect Turkish mezze.

One of the worst breakfast place I have ever been. As a Turkish people we wanted to eat Turkish breakfast but only names were Turkish in the menu, the rest was something else. Restaurant was very cold and so noisy. While waiting I have checked the reviews on google and even I saw that 2 years ago people wrote the same things and restaurant owners never fixed them. So it was my mistake to sit but was too late. AND especially the MUSIC!!! So loudly! In principle I will never come here for a disappointment!!!

The service was totally disorganized and careless. The loud music was awful and ruined the atmosphere. On top of that, the place was freezing cold — we had to sit wearing our jackets. Zero comfort, zero customer care. Terrible experience. Waste of time. Never coming back. Not recommended at all.

We ordered a pizza with doner kebab. We received a doner kebab with literally a few slices of doner kebab. When we pointed this out, a 17- or 18-year-old boy was very grumpy and irritated because a server asked if we could put more doner kebab on it. For that reason alone, I wouldn't recommend this place; when you eat somewhere, you expect a bit of friendliness. The only positive was a very friendly woman in a headscarf who apologized and worked very hard. More people like that in your restaurant, please. And everyone else needs a course in friendliness.

Parking is available outside in a private lot. No parking is available nearby. Family atmosphere. The portions are small for the price. I find it expensive for what it is. The food was good, but nothing special.

A Turkish restaurant where the staff doesn't speak Turkish, English, or Dutch. Only "yes," "no," and "my colleague is coming, I can't now." Two pumpkin spice coffees tasted like diabetes in a glass, which we paid 13 euros for. Gozleme with egg and sucuk had a guest appearance by three stray pieces of sucuk, and the main ingredient in gozleme is salt. Moreover, after ordering, you can take a tour of the entire Benelux region, that's how long it took for us to get our food.

What a great place, the staff is incredibly friendly, and I recommend ordering the watermelon strawberry drink! It's so delicious! We've found our new regular spot!

I went to Ekmekci for the first time yesterday, and I'm so glad I did. I had kol böreği (a type of pastry) with tea and a latte. The kol böreği was delicious, and the tea and coffee were equally good. I didn't try any other items, but judging by the quality of the börek, coffee, and tea, I suspect their other products are prepared with the same care. The staff was attentive and friendly. I had the opportunity to watch the orders being prepared during my stay, and I was very impressed by how clean, organized, and meticulous their work was. The restaurant atmosphere was also very pleasant. The music was so good I didn't want to leave. For all these reasons, I wholeheartedly recommend Ekmekci to everyone. I'll be visiting frequently from now on.

Today my wife and I had lunch at Ekmekci in Eindhoven, and it was a truly wonderful experience. From the moment we walked in, the friendly and genuine attitude of the staff was immediately noticeable. We were warmly greeted and given plenty of time to make our choice, without any rush or pressure, something you don't find everywhere these days. The restaurant itself is clean and fresh, with a charming and original decor that creates a cozy atmosphere. It has a modern yet warm feel, making you feel instantly at home. The food was served quickly and was deliciously fresh, just as you'd expect from a good lunch. As for value for money, it far exceeded our expectations. You definitely get a fair price for what you pay. We will definitely be back and highly recommend Ekmekci!

The gözleme has nothing to do with gözleme; the tables are covered in grease. The cook is touching the cash register with his greasy hands, which is very, very bad.

Food was very good, came quick. There was only just me and a couple of people to be fair tho. I had the eggy(something. Scrambled eggs, had it with sucuk, tomatoes and young cheese. Tasted great, nice big portion. Ambience and decoration really lovely. I will be back.

I waited an hour, even though it would have been shorter if I'd picked it up myself. When I arrived, they still hadn't made my order, and I had to wait an extra 15 minutes. It was during my break. Ridiculous. They didn't even compensate me for that. Not even an apology. When I got back to work, I saw that they hadn't added the ingredients I paid extra for. Worthless.

I had to wait 50 minutes for my gözleme, even though they initially said it would take 25 minutes. After I finally got my food, I discovered at work that they hadn't added the extra ingredients I'd been charged extra for. First and last time!

We had a reservation for 11:00, and now it's already 12:15, and I'm still waiting for my food. I have a saying: "If you can't make it, don't." Somebody needs to get fired.

I've never seen such terrible service and food. At a Turkish restaurant, you're expected to speak Turkish and be served delicious Turkish dishes. It's completely unacceptable. The servers speak only broken English and don't even know the menu by heart, so I had to explain everything step by step. I received the wrong order and made it very clear that I wasn't going to pay for it. The gözleme didn't even taste like gözleme; it was so unappetizing and fresh. The worst gözleme I've ever had, and it's overpriced for what you get. I wish I had taken a picture. I could list many more things, but save your money. This is the worst restaurant ever!

We came here especially from Lommel for breakfast, but unfortunately, we left feeling quite hungry because we waited 15 minutes for someone to take our order. After that, I went to the cash register myself to ask if someone would take our order, but after 30 minutes, no one was seen again, so the service was 0. No one who came after us had already eaten.
