I went to the restaurant to celebrate my wife’s birthday and we left amazed! Everything was so good, the food, the service, the atmosphere, everything! We will definitely come back since now it is one of our favorites restaurants in Amsterdam.

Such a great experience! The menu design and the concept is well organized… it is not just a restaurant but also full of Brazilian history experience. The chefs are so kind and friendly.. gives you all the details with some little background of Brazil. Definitely recommend 🫶🏼

We live around the corner, but to my shame I have to admit that this is the first time we have eaten here. It was a real pleasure from start to finish. That goes for the food and the service. Thank you very much!

I had dinner at Elo recently and the experience from start to end was great. Service was attentive and knowledgeable, and the food...what a superb and refined interpretation of Brazilian classics like acarajé and baião de dois. The presentation was beautiful, too. The passion fruit caipirinha was to die for - if I closed my eyes, I could think I was back at a Rio beach (my hometown). My guest had never tried Brazilian food before, and it was a feast to his senses. Highly recommended!

Amazing food and great atmosphere!

We spent a lovely night at Elo with a five-course dinner. The food was amazing, with an original combination of tradition flavours from Brazil and a nice touch from local ingredients. It is exquisite but at the same time very homey. The service was lovely, very sincere and warm-hearted. We will definitely come back:) A true bonus to the neighbourhood. Update: we went back again for a spring menu. it was as amazing as the first time. We would love to go back again soon:)

All these 5 star ratings are wholeheartedly deserved! Went here on a rainy Saturday for a family dinner and had an incredible experience. We received great service and top notch quality food (and wine as well of course). Only shame was to see the restaurant fairly empty, but I imagine that was due to the weather and perhaps location, since it’s not in a very central area. Wish more people knew about this place, definitely a hidden gem!

The food was delicious, well prepared, original. Really different than usual. The non-alcoholic package was also great by the way. And a very nice hostess!

Wow, what an asset to have a restaurant of this level in Bos en Lommer! We live nearby and have wanted to try it here for a long time. We recently had something to celebrate and Elo turned out to be a wonderful place for that. 🪑 setting - you will find this restaurant in a residential area in B&L. From your table you can look out onto Admiraal de Ruijterweg where the tram passes by. Inside there is a lot of white, but also (changing) art on the walls. The interior feels a bit cold. I think this is due to the white tiles and the spotlights with white light aimed at the art. Fortunately, there is a nice flower arrangement and candle on the table and the chairs are wonderfully comfortable. In the background a playlist with all kinds of Brazilian cliché bossa nova classics (think: Girl from Ipanema - I think the music could be a bit more exciting) sounds softly. The open kitchen is nice to see. 🧑‍🍳 service - very friendly and clearly passionate about the profession and this business. When we were there the restaurant was run by just two ladies, one of whom mainly worked in the kitchen and the other did table service. Each dish and wine received a good explanation. The atmosphere was informal and friendly. The service was unfortunately not 100% consistent; At the end of the evening we suddenly had to wait a long time to be able to order another coffee and then ask for the bill. Even though it wasn't very busy. 🥗 the food - excellent! What a beautiful, creative card. The main focus is on vegetables and how delicious they are prepared here. The creations look beautiful. The works of art on our plate are even more beautiful than those on the wall. The menu starts with warm sourdough bread from Fort Negen with a great beurre noisette. If the entire meal consisted of just this bread + butter, I would be a happy person. Then the most special creations follow one another. Every course is a party. The artfully crafted mushroom dish was my favorite. The dessert was also nice: not too sweet and with subtle flavors. 🍹 the drinks - we took the wine arrangement. I'm not a wine connoisseur so I can't say much about it except that it was tasty and the wines went well with the dishes and it had a good structure. A non-alcoholic arrangement is also possible. 🌱 Dietary requirements - the menu is already largely vegetarian, but they easily adapted the par dishes with meat / seafood without concessions to creativity and originality. 🚽 facilities - neat toilets with nice scented candles. 💰 Value for money - such a menu plus wines is not cheap in a restaurant like this. But in this category the menu prices are average. It is the extras that are a bit on the high side in my opinion. For example, a bottle of water for €6.50 and the cappuccino (although very tasty) was an absurd €6.50. Even for Amsterdam that is a high price. The menu calls this “coffee with biscuit” so we expected a tasty biscuit with it, but we only got a small piece of nougat. All in all, it is definitely worth the time and money to go here. The menu fills the evening; We were there for four hours (of which the last hour, as mentioned earlier, we waited a bit too long for service). Conclusion: we are very happy with this beautiful restaurant in our neighborhood and will definitely go back. What's nice is that a new menu is created every season. Don't wait like us for a special occasion to go here; just go right away and enjoy!

I don't normally write reviews, but I have to make an exception after visiting this great restaurant on January 30, 2025. With the best menu (5 courses + 2 small extra courses) that I have ever eaten (and there were some starred cuisines there). Perfect, very warm service and perfectly put together wine accompaniment, which wonderfully complemented the individual courses. Definitely too cheap for this level. I didn't want to believe the positive reviews when I came across this restaurant during my search for a good restaurant near my hotel, but this restaurant is definitely worth a trip to Amsterdam alone!!!!

Well I was highly suspicious of a consistent 5.0 rating… but just found out why it’s entirely deserved! Unique, delicate and delicious flavour combinations + fantastic service. All without the Michelin price tag. Will definitely be back!!

Met een groep van zeven hebben we hier een erg gezellige avond gehad met eten en drinken van top niveau. De bediening was geweldig: zeer servicegericht, gedreven, toegewijd en attent. De sfeer was ontspannen, ongedwongen en de nauwe onderlinge plezierige samenwerking tussen het personeel en de concentratie in de keuken was opmerkelijk. Er wordt 3 maandelijks 1 menu gepresenteerd, waaruit je de gangen kunt kiezen. We kozen voor het volledige 5 gangenmenu. Stuk voor stuk waren de gerechten verrassend met aparte combinaties van ingrediënten, waarvan je in eerste instantie je wenkbrauwen optrekt: paddestoelen met koffie (overheerlijk!). De gerechten zijn met precisie opgemaakt en een plaatje om te zien. De smaaksensaties die we hier hadden deed denken aan wat we in sterrenrestaurants opgediend hebben gekregen.

A truly wonderful first dining experience! The restaurant has a warm and open atmosphere with an open kitchen. The walls are decorated with art by Amsterdam-based artists, curated to match the seasonal menu—a lovely detail. We had the five-course menu with wine pairings, and every dish was beautifully presented, unique, and the perfect portion. Filipe, our waiter, made the evening even better with his friendly explanations, humor, and great wine suggestions. Compliments to the chef and Filipe for such a special evening—I can’t wait to try the new menu!

What a hidden gem in BOLO!! This place is incredible. They offer a tasting menu which they can also do vegan (which is what I had). It was next level good. But the best thing? They also offer a “soft pairing”: non-alcohol drinks they pair with each course. They change their menu every 3 months so my husband and I will definitely be visiting this restaurant 4 times a year (minimum!) from now on. Thanks for an amazing evening Elo Food Based!

With a group of seven we had a very pleasant evening here with top-quality food and drinks. The service was great: very service-oriented, driven, dedicated and attentive. The atmosphere was relaxed, casual and the close, pleasant cooperation between the staff and the concentration in the kitchen was remarkable. 1 menu is presented 3 times a month, from which you can choose the courses. We opted for the full 5 course menu. The dishes were all surprising with unusual combinations of ingredients that initially raise your eyebrows: mushrooms with coffee (delicious!). The dishes are prepared with precision and are a sight to behold. The taste sensations we had here were reminiscent of what we were served in star restaurants.

Stunning experience! We've had an amazing 5-course dinner. Every single dish looked gorgeous and tasted absolutely delicious, we think even better than some of the more expensive well known high-end restaurants you'll find in Amsterdam. Also, the staff is super friendly and passionate and the service was perfect. One of the best restaurant experiences we've had in a while, to be honest. The interior is simple but alright, still cozy and the open kitchen is a nice touch. But the food... you should just go and make a reservation here. We will definitely come back!

Had a delicious meal at ELO yesterday. You can taste the cheerfulness and passion of the owner and her team on the plate. Each dish was a small painting of beautiful fresh flavors with Brazilian influences. The highlight for us was the Picanha with a cassava puree. Top cooking, top sauce, top flavors. We ended the evening with a dessert of moderation. Surprisingly beautiful structures and wonderful fresh shades of yuzu combined with caramel. Definitely recommended to eat here!

New entry in the area. Loved everything about it, the food, the playfulness with textures, the delivery of uncommon (at least to me) dishes, unpretentious and young. Menu changes every month or so and is inspired by artists, whose art is then also shown in the restaurant. Well done to the team for putting this together and all the best of luck! Edit: Second visit and the summer menu is a must!

This restaurant is the discovery of the year for us. Creative and very tasty dishes and matching wines. Price/quality ratio is very good. Beautifully decorated tent and the service is very hospitable and passionate. We will definitely come back here very soon.

Fantastic restaurant that offers a 4 or 5 course tasting menu for 40 or 50 Euros. Wine pairing is an additional 39 or 49 Euros. Totally worth it! Make a reservation.

Great flavors with a surprising interplay of "classic" influence and the team's Brazilian roots. We both took the 5-course menu, with the cheese plate. One of us without meat and I must say: the very best meatless variants of the dishes I have tasted anywhere! Complete and just as inventive, if not more inventive than the regular menu. We had the matching wine arrangement once, but my table companion also got to taste several wines and a drop more here and there. The service was warm, knowledgeable and attentive, with a Brazilian flair. They change their menu every 2 to 3 months, and I would happily come by every season for their full menu. Simply very good!

The owners and staff were incredibly friendly and the restaurant small but cozy. Michelin style food but for an affordable price. They change the set menu every three months so we have every reason to go back!

El personal es muy agradable y el maridaje de vinos es increíble. Tienen un nuevo menú cada temporada y acaban de empezar un menú de verano. Las coloridas ilustraciones de la pared coinciden totalmente con el ambiente del verano. Sin duda volveré de nuevo muchas veces.

Amazing restaurant with a chef who worked in Michelin restaurants and that is clear from the amazing fusion dishes they are serving here. Delicious and they also have amazing artworks on the wall.

We had an absolutely delightful experience dining at Elo Food Based a few weeks ago. It is not often that we see restaurants being able to bring together the coziness of hearty dishes and the finesse of such high level cooking but Chef Renata does an outstanding job. My friend and I both had the 5-course menu (one vegetarian) with full drinks pairing (well thought out options). Each dish was carefully constructed and the seasoning was perfect! We're already excited to return for the summer menu soon. Of course, cannot forget to mention Felipe who was a bright, fun company throughout our evening! Both him and Chef Renata took all our requests and wishes into consideration with a lot of grace and were ready to accommodate immediately. Anyone looking to try Brazilian flavours in a polished setting, I highly recommend. To others, you should treat yourself to such good food anyway!

French fine dining with twist of Brazilian flair. I was fortunate to visit on the first day of the summer menu last night, and was blown away by flavour and technique in every dish. Special mention for the tomato starter and the mate dessert which were stars of the show, and the wine pairing was perfectly balanced. Amazingly well looked after by the staff, this place is a gem in a very lovely part of the city. Well worth a detour for any local or visitor

The menu is colourful, curious, creative and full of discoveries. A delicious mix of new ingredients and culinary techniques. I personally loved the tiny touch each of dishes had with the teas and sauces around. And the staff is a 100/10. I definitely will come back to try the summer menu.

Delicious food, very creative, I love it

One of the best dinners we had in the Netherlands. The dishes are very original and not your average flavor combination. You can really see the latin influence on them and that makes it a unique flavor. The wine paring is also very well executed and the wines were very original and paired perfectly.

This place is a gem. We had the 3 course dinner but I wish we had chosen the 4 course one because everything was so good . All 3 dishes were a surprise, delicious and refreshing. We had the wine pairing which was just perfect. What really made our evening complete was the very enthusiastic yet professional service. Cannot recommend it more highly than this.

Wow - one of the best restaurants in Amsterdam, without a doubt. The food tastes incredible, they use quality ingredients, and the menu is super creative. We all really enjoyed every course. We will hopefully be returning there every season to try each new menu. The staff were all super friendly. We did not feel rushed at all and could admire the beautiful presentation of our meals.

I’m always very skeptic when I hear about Brazilian fine dining experiences but Elo has delivered everything! As they change the menu every 3 months I’ll make sure to pass by and not miss a thing! The food, service and atmosphere are simply amazing.

The food is new, different and takes you to some regions of Brazil. The chef and the staff are very sweet and funny. You can tell they have heart for what they do. The ambiance of the art collection that interacts with the menu is also a great combination! 10/10 would recommend!

New wonderful place in Bos and Lommer. Went here with my partner the weekend after Valentines day. The food was very good and highly recommended. The only thing is that they were very busy that evening and it took very long for some courses to arrive (we had the 5 course menu). In such a price range I would expected the waiter to offer e.g. wine for free for the inconvenience. After we asked for it they did it and it would have been nice if that would have come from the staff.

Wow, food and service at this level so close to home! What a gem. I very rarely get surprised by food anymore in Amsterdam, but this time, every dish was a little treat. You could taste the love, craftmanship and good ingredients. All dishes are well balanced, the Brazilian twist is great and refreshing and the wine pairing worked every single time. And as a meatlover I did not miss not having one meat dish. Well done, Elo team, we'll be back
