Fa. Pekelhaaring in Nieuwe Pijp

Pekelhaaring to me is a perfect example of Bib Gourmand at its best. Creative dishes with fresh, seasonal ingredients, expertly prepared, in a casual environment. I had arancini, fresh tagliatelle with deer ragu, and a poached pear tart, all for under €35 (if you share the dessert).

Fantastic food! Excellent service and a beautiful restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. The food quality is excellent. Definitely worth going back.

Delicious food, great selection of dishes. The drinks were good. The foie gras was delicious when you combined every element. The Rabbit leg was good as well. The ravioli was a bit salty with all the cheese but delicious if you didn't scoop all of it up.

Absurd to wait 45+ min between appetizer and main. Portions are ridicullus, some cold and non existing. Avoid.

Magnificent! The rating must be higher because during our visit this evening, there was great teamwork. We asked for menu suggestions and they were delicious. The place is friendly with locals who want beautiful, unpretentious food but with just unpretentious service. We are lucky to be at the back and the attention paid to the dishes is also noteworthy. My favorite restaurant in De Pijp. A relaxed place that feels like a living room, where the staff offers genuine tips. The ingredients are always high quality; the oysters are always excellent, and the tagliata di manzo never disappoints.

Wow, I highly recommend this tagliatelle with wild boar ragout.

Great place, with high quality Italian food in generous portions. Great vegetarian options, extensive wine card and creative desserts. They serve starters, primi, secondi and dolces but are flexible to mix and match. Enjoyed it very much! Try the ricotta stuffed courgette flowers.

The food was good tho it came a bit late

The food was very flavourful with the wild Boar stew tagliatelle being really flavourful and comforting and I recommend ordering the larger portion if you have a bigger appetite .The waiter was really kind and gave us recommendations on picking the dishes.The oysters were also very fresh and the portions of all the food were very generous.

Very bad lunch experience - an apetizer called sandwich. Paid 11.5 euros for a small burned bruschetta. All the waitress could say... sorry to disappoint you.

Pickled herring is relatively expensive for what you get. The bill was also incomprehensible. There was a price per piece in the left column, but sometimes it was multiplied to a total in the right column and sometimes it wasn't. That's inconvenient if you're with a group and want to pay afterwards. The starter was absolutely delicious but too small: there was only 1 wild prawn, and when I asked the waitress where the other one had gone, she replied: it's processed in the marrow. That could very well be, but still... I ordered the rib eye medium but it came rare. The meat wasn't of such a quality that it could handle that. Not tasty.

Food: Excellent culinary experience! The dishes are good in portion, and the taste amazing! Prices are normal. Interior: Rather disappointing second-hand furniture store interior with DIY lights that blind you when you sit on the table. The acoustics are another non-addressed matter as the high level of noise makes it impossible to have a conversation. Unfortunately, this is the aesthetic that a lot of Amsterdam's hip places have and is accepted by the market. It really does not reflect the high quality of the kitchen, thus it made me rather upset. The chef's creations are high level thus it deserves an appropriate environment that would allow the client to enjoy them. Service: Polite personnel but not really attentive. The client needs to make an effort in order to catch the attention of one of the waiters.

Cozy restaurant with very good food

Overrated food and experience. Service was terribal, the team didnt have any attantionto to the customer or timing of the service. Waitted over 30 min to main. A very bad experience. Lots of other better value and better experience.

Quite busy Friday evening, the waiters were struggling to serve all the people within the allocated reservation time. Otherwise, very nice place!

This is one of Amsterdam's evergreens, but without being boring or predictable. Always good and always surprising, highly recommended!!

This Italian restaurant, located in a quiet neighborhood during the week, filled up quickly during lunchtime. We chose to eat on the terrace under an awning, which was pleasant. To compose your meal, you can choose between the menu items or a selection of the daily specials listed on a blackboard inside. The waitress was friendly, although rushed, and we were served within 20 minutes. The dishes were delicious, a real treat. To accompany our meal, we had a glass of wine and a Moscow Mule, which was truly excellent and I highly recommend it. A meal full of flavors that I recommend to anyone longing for Italy!

Toegankelijke en sfeervolle zaak, open keuken en vriendelijke bediening. Gevarieerde kaart en ook voor vegetariërs keuze. De meeste gerechten waren top en heel smaakvol, de artisjok viel iets tegen. Suggesties voor wijnen waren goed. Gewoon fijn restaurant zonder kapsones.

Nice location with delicious food and good wine. Downside: they have a shortage of wine glasses and they are quickly taken away if someone does not drink wine but does drink water and still wants to toast...

Beautiful place. It smells good when you enter. Friendly service. The map is original. I had the tagliata di manzo. Rarely tasty. Good Italian wine with it. I think you need to make a reservation. They are in demand. And rightly so.

Cannonau - stracciatella - porcini tartette - lava cake, all full of flavours and textures. So so good. The tastebud high comes at a price but it was worth it. Our servers were lovely too.

How irritated I was with staff who kept asking if we knew it yet. Exactly 2 hours after we sat at the table and had just finished the main course, the monkey came out of our sleeves and we could no longer order dessert because the next guests arrived for our table! This is so customer unfriendly you wouldn't go out to eat for that.

Met een groep vrienden hier gegeten, Ik ging op een houten stoel zitten. Had direct een groot gat in mijn gloednieuwe panty (Falke panty), door een grote houtsplinter van de stoel. Meisje is de bediening zei dat het vergoedt kon worden. Volgende dag gemaild, het bedrijf mailde dat ze niets voor mij konden doen. Volgens mij is daar een aansprakelihkheidsverzekering voor. Slechte service!! Eten is goed, erg prijzig

Good atmosphere, good prices, excellent food, great wines, professional service.

What used to be a good restaurant is now crazy expensive for food of not particularly skilled cheffing… Disappointing dishes abound. Embarrassingly small pastas at €17 Tagliata at €28 overcooked and dumped on a plate lacking any sophistication. Staff good. Room pleasant but aside from this just not up to standard for the price.

A nice and attractive restaurant on the Van Woustraat. Good menu with less obvious ingredients. Food is really good. It's a shame that tap water costs 3 euros and the potatoes we ordered were forgotten.

Another delicious meal at Fa. Brine hair! One of my favorite restaurants for years! The food is very tasty, the service is top notch and the acoustics also seem to have improved. We had a very nice evening and are already looking forward to the next time. See you soon!

Vroeg of we hier een klein broodje konden eten dat was geen probleem Kregen een kaart waar geen echte broodjes op stonden later kwam ze met een groot bord en rattelde alles op toch maar besteld en was redelijk Ben naar het toilet gegaan naar het naar boven gaan van de trap was het slecht verlicht zodat ik de laatste trap struikelde Bloedend been enkel blauw het enige wat ze zei gaat het. Lijkt mij goed om de trap beter te verlichten voor ons nooit meer

This is my personal favorite in Amsterdam. I lived next to here for years and have been there a lot. Lunch, dinner, everything is always top notch and the staff is really great. Personal attention, relaxed, knowledgeable. I always recommend it to everyone!

Heute Mittag zum Lunch eine perfekte, hervorragende Fischsuppe geniessen dürfen:) auch der Pekantarte mit pochierter Birne und Schokoeis war große Klasse! Ein hochklassiger Lunch in entspannter Atmosphäre mit sehr kompetentem und sympathischem Service. Komme wieder!

The food is tasty. But we find the atmosphere cold. Whether that is due to the windows (as if you are in a shop window) or the ventilation system? We were in quite a draft and the smell of the fragrance sticks from the toilet also drifted past through the ventilation. That didn't make it any tastier. The acoustics are also terrible. With a group larger than 4 people, it is no longer possible to understand each other.

I normally never bother to post a bad review, but I thought the service in this restaurant was so bad that I made an exception for De Pekelharing. I made a reservation two weeks in advance and arrived 10 minutes before my reservation. There was no room at that time, which is of course not a bad thing. Would we like to take a seat outside? After sitting in the cold for a little more than half an hour, during which no one even offered me a drink, I decided to give it a try.

Now we were already fans of Pekelhaaring. But with Tristan serving it is a real treat. So thoughtful. We had a great evening. The duck liver mousse as a starter is highly recommended.

Really loved the appetizer (raw fish one), the main course duck breast has large portion, the food itself is good (8/10). If you have a small stomach, a main and an appetizer would be more than enough. The service is alright, nothing so special nor disappointing. -Revisit My experience was really good that I had to come and leave a review🥹 I was so in love with the starter duck breast with duck liver. The seasoning was just right and left myself still thinking about the food after I returned home. The main course Monkfish was a little bit too salty but in general delightful, the fish itself was really fresh❣️The staff had a big smile and was really attentive. Forgot to ask his name but he definitely made the night better. Well done!

We are very disappointed with the food. It was poorly presented and bland in taste. The seafood had a questionable freshness and the gnocchi just did not male sense. Don't order it. We were expecting a lot coming from a restaurant with a huge prestige. Sadly, we were left with a dish out of any expectations.

I ended up at brine hair a bit by chance, but it certainly didn't disappoint. Compliments to the service, she was really very good advice and helpful! The only downside was a piece of plastic in our main course. The two starters (crudo and bagna cauda) were really good, the chicken was also very good but the toppings (?) were a bit boring, the lamb dish was really great! All in all a very tasty meal.

More than decent pasta with gambas, cozy atmosphere and DELICIOUS tarte tatin with figs and vanilla ice cream (10/10 would recommend)

Heerlijk gegeten, mooie smaakvolle gerechten en fijne bediening. Ik ben afhankelijk van een rolstoel en na overleg is er meteen een oprijplaat besteld zodat rolstoelen ook naar binnen kunnen. Hulde voor deze actie.

Incredibly good and delicious food. Without fuss and no whining. Odette's Italian relative (Odette's Buffet) It's just a bit strange that when you sit down, you get an old wine bottle filled with tap water - without asking for it. Seems like a house service, but when you get the bill, all bottles of tap water are on the bill. There is no further information about this or it has never been discussed/asked for water. I don't care about the few euros, but no one has ever asked for water. Simply put down what looks like service. Next time maybe just ask or put it on the menu. It's okay if you are charged for water, but be transparent.

I already visited here quite regularly and my first time to come here to give credits💕💕. I know here is my go to place when I want to share good time with friends, my go to place when I don’t know what to eat, my go to place when I want to have good food and make my belly content. It can be my casual dining as price/value is not crazy in comparison to most place in Amsterdam but also can be nice fancy share dining because it’s just so delicious. Love fish soup !!!!!!’ And please order cheese cake !!!!’ Here got the best cheese in Amsterdam.

Very nice place! Friendly service. Unfortunately not real real aranchinu but more like risotto bitterballen €32.50

As soon as we left the restaurant, my boyfriend and I had the linguine with lobster and they didn't have a strong taste despite the bisque. I took the tagliatelle with lamb, a little too spicy and then I found some lime cubes I think, which didn't have much to do with it. We took a second between us, a breast of veal and veal sausage, with potatoes, peas and green beans. We only ate the peas, potatoes and breast, everything else was raw and the taste wasn't very good. And in the end I found two midges in my glass, probably coming from the bottom of the wine bottle they used for water, it was the last glass otherwise I would have had it changed.

We had dinner here on our wedding day and were really surprised by their delicious food.

I've been coming here for years and the food is always delicious and fresh and the service is friendly. Yesterday I had the Buffalo mozzarella with tomato, strawberry and samphire and the taste was so refined, beautiful products together. The mullet is also delicious and the cheesecake the best in town. It was a fantastic evening

Both the food and the service were great!

In the open kitchen 3 cooks are preparing our lovely meal. My ‘varkenslende’ is deliciously cooked with a slice of fat defining the gentle taste. It’s accompanied with a wonderful mixed salad and a great glass of Verdejo. All this served with a gracious smile.

Ate here with my whole family for my birthday. The food was delicious, the atmosphere cozy and the service super good. That is sometimes different in Amsterdam at the moment. So I can definitely recommend Pekelhaaring!!
