Kudos to Family, who has a very clear allergen chart and extensive options for allergen-free meals. I hope they publish this on their website too!

Do yourself a favor and order here (they recently started delivering to your home). What fantastic quality for this price! To family corporate: Please fix your interface (for mobile). The reservation button is halfway over the call icon, and adding text for both "order" and "call" or something similar would be a real improvement. It's currently really unintuitive.

Family in Terneuzen has a completely different atmosphere than in Axel and Hulst. The service staff isn't as fast. The food preparation staff is excellent; the sandwich was delicious! It's a shame about the service.

Went with a large group, the service was great and the boys from JVOZ JO-13 had a great time!

We sat in the sunshine on the outdoor patio. Service was very prompt. The young, friendly waitress. Steak wedges with teriyaki sauce on flatbread. And Italian toasted sandwiches. It was delicious.

A surprising good dinner at this restaurant, which we found it by accident. We got their Wednesday specialty which is a one pan dish served with rice or French fries. A good deal I must say. The service was friendly and we were enjoying ourselves.

I've been here several times, and every time, something goes wrong regarding gluten-free food. For example, the first time I ordered takeout, I got a regular frikandel with my order instead of a gluten-free one. I wanted to give it another try today, but mistakes had been made from the start. I also got the impression the staff wasn't interested. Despite having a reservation, we were only seated at a table for 4 with 5 people. I had proof in my email that I'd made a reservation for 5, so I disagreed. My order had to be returned (after a long wait) after I pointed out to the waitress that the sauce wasn't gluten-free (it said so on the allergen menu, and I've ordered the dish several times at another location where it's done well). By the time my order finally arrived, my fries were gone, and the rest of the table had finished their meal. It's a shame, because the food itself can be delicious, but with the service and reliability regarding food for people with allergies, I wouldn't recommend it here. The branch in Axel, on the other hand, is doing well (under the same owners, bizarrely enough).

We had to wait an hour for our food, even though the restaurant was only half full and two satay meals didn't take that long to make. Other tables also had to wait a long time. The satay we received was very dry. All in all, it was unfortunately not a good experience.

The staff could be more attentive. This caused people to walk out without eating anything.

We were on vacation in Breskens and stopped off in Terneuzen. Mondays are schnitzel day there. So, it's just right for us Germans 😁. I have to say, we've rarely had a better schnitzel! With diced ham, sautéed mushrooms, and a slice of cheese. The price was really reasonable. We took advantage of it on both Mondays!

Fast service. Good food. Youthful and relaxed atmosphere.

I thought it was a lovely place to eat. Nice seating, a lovely and fun children's corner. They have an extensive lunch and dinner menu, and because so much of it looked delicious, it was hard to choose. We ended up going for the beef stew with fries and a burger with fries. Both were more than enough and very tasty and hot. The only downside is that we'll have to come back next time we're in Terneuzen to try something else ;)

Best place for kids in Terneuzen, although the play area is very small. The food is good. The acoustics aren't great, making it a bit noisy.

For dessert, I recommend ice cream. 😋

The three of us went to dinner in a nearly empty restaurant, but we still had to wait a very long time for someone to come and take our order. We started with cold, ancient bread with tapas and aioli. Last time, the bread was nice and warm, which was a shame. The ladies' main course was fries with stew. The meat was cold the first time, then microwaved. I had spicy chicken with fries. Last time, during the jazz festival, it was incredibly good, but this time it was a disgrace. The chicken was floating in a watery mess with vegetables. By the way, the kitchen staff doesn't even wear hairnets... not that they actually cook, of course, but still... And the housekeeping is indeed poor. Tables aren't cleared, they stay full for a long time, etc. There's one lady who's screaming her lungs out, the rest are just hanging around. I don't know what happened, but in a few months, things have gone from very good to very bad.

We ate spare ribs, this was really a disgrace, burnt, came off the bone badly and after reporting it there was no reaction, we just walked to the bar to pay, but unfortunately not even an apology after we reported for the 3rd time that they were bad and that they could taste it themselves, there was no reaction either, too bad they treat their customers like this

The food was good but the house white wine was sour. This was said to the waitress, before the food was even served, the answer was that it was the normal house wine and that this was not possible. Nothing was done about this. After the meal another waitress came to whom I asked for the bill and I pointed again to the full glass of sour white wine that I had left. This waitress had then gone to the kitchen and came back with the message that I did not have to pay for the glass. So unfortunately I was not able to drink during the meal because the first waitress did not believe me.

The lady who helped us came up with excuses. We were already skipped on the terrace, we were also skipped in the restaurant itself. Took a very long time to eat, food is delicious, shame on the staff!!!!! We will not come here again because of that. The worst thing is, there was almost no one in the restaurant!!

With 8 people reserved for a lunch. Table was not cleaned yet and was not done (stains and sticky). It was very cold inside but air conditioning could not be lower according to employee because that went automatically. You had to keep your coat on. Very long wait before the food arrived. From now on we will go to Family Axel because we always have a very good experience there.

Too bad, had to wait a long time for everything while it wasn't busy...food was also disappointing compared to the other times we were here. After dinner we wanted to order dessert with coffee and tea, but after waiting 45 minutes we gave up. Too bad, went somewhere else for our dessert...

Food was ok. Strawberry coupe contained 4 strawberries, with soft ice cream. No ice cream ball as far as I noticed. Hamburger was tasty but very big. And I don't find it really warm there. Compliment regarding the prices, they are quite low, so definitely try it!

Nice warm apple pie with ice cream and whipped cream. The banana split was oddly enough in a glass cup instead of a bowl. The ice cream is soft ice cream.

What happened here wasn't just bad – it was a complete nightmare. A disgusting display of incompetence, indifference and pure contempt for the customer. We clearly indicated that we wanted to sit on the terrace. What's happening? No one asks anything, no communication, no explanation. Then we sit down and wait – 15 minutes of absolutely nothing. Finally a waitress arrives, completely dazed, and asks what we want to drink. We indicate that we had already ordered – wide eyes, no idea what we are talking about. Pass everything over again. Ten minutes later nothing. She comes back, and yes: repeat again. Twice even. She literally didn't understand anything. As if we were in a bad play, written by someone with no knowledge of catering or common sense. Then: I went inside to get the drink myself, because the waiters are too miserable to move their legs. Later we were politely told that our order was “takeaway”, and that we were therefore not even allowed to eat on the terrace. While we literally said that from the beginning. No excuses, no responsibility – just blaming their own stupid mistakes. And then comes the low point. The “Dubai shake.” Five euros for what can only be described as spoiled, sour milk in a plastic cup. No pistachio. No chocolate. No taste. Just disgusting, cowardly trash. It was so disgusting that I seriously doubted it was safe to drink anymore. It's really criminal to ask for money for this. Shameless scam. The fries? Sloppy, squishy crap. Cold, tasteless, and dripping with old grease. Even a snack bar at 4am after going out would be ashamed to serve this. No 'enjoy your meal', no service, not an ounce of friendliness. As if the staff are sitting there waiting for their punishment to be over. This is not a cafeteria. This is a failed joke that customers are suffering from. The manager – if there is anyone at the helm at all – has completely derailed everything. Everything fails here: the organization, the food, the staff, the service. Don't fall for this. Spend your money somewhere where they know what decency is. This place should be closed down.

Excellent burgers and nice, quick service. But parents with very unbehaved children should not actually have access after 6 p.m. Perhaps the name of the restaurant should also be changed!

Had to wait 40 minutes for an order of 3 fries and 3 snacks at the snack bar, while this could have been a lot faster if the maid could multitask. In addition, there was also a hair in the fries.

Nice location/decor, but very disappointed with the order. "Dubai shake" for €6.95, tasted heavily of synthetic flavorings and was half a cup of shake and half a cup of whipped cream. "Cookie monster" ice cream was of better quality, but very small portion for €5.95. For such prices very substandard portions and "dubai shake" just simply disgusting. And in the end you mainly come for the drinks, not the furnishings.

We went to eat with 6 people. We were on the trip with small children so we asked if the door could be closed. Unfortunately it had to stay open. It took a long time before we could order. And once we ordered it took almost an hour before we got our food. Someone had ordered something that was apparently out of stock. But they only came to tell us after half an hour. Finally we ate, the children wanted an ice cream and the adults had another coffee, the coffee was almost gone and the ice cream wasn't there yet... The hamburger was tasty but the service and atmosphere unfortunately weren't. Next time we'll go back to Axel!

Went here for dinner today with three people, taking the order went smoothly and the drinks came quickly. However, the order did not arrive. The group that came in after us had almost finished their food while our order had not yet arrived. When asked, it seemed they had forgotten the order. But that was not admitted. We left an hour after we entered. The only combination possible was a drink

American burger + fries. Burger was composed of finely ground minced meat, and had little or no seasoning. The sauce seemed like pure concentrated tomato paste. Frisian okay. Edible, just.

glorified chip shop with disappointing dishes Family in Terneuzen is at its best as a glorified chip shop. The fries themselves are good, but otherwise the food was disappointing. The stew that was served was not very tasty We also tried the beef teriyaki, but this dish was disappointing: there were only a few small pieces of meat and the taste was flat. The hair salon was also nothing special. All in all, Family offers little more than a standard chip shop experience, with dishes that are not worth repeating.

The day before the four of us came, we had discussed a specific table. We immediately used something. When we arrived the next day, there was no "Reserved" sign on this table. That is absolutely not nice, I get the feeling that people are handling it carelessly. The next day, at this table, we had a very nice afternoon.

As 'winners of the month of May' it is up to us to thank you for the free dinner for 4 people. We enjoyed the quality of the dinner, the service and the atmosphere. Family Terneuzen (and also Axel by the way) is characterized by an excellent price-quality ratio, a neat interior and friendly staff. For an easy, quick and tasty 'snack', Family is definitely recommended.

Delicious cheese toast with beautiful presentation, friendly waiter who wishes you a pleasant day even when you leave the restaurant. Play area for children and cozy seating in a large room. Small detail, the cutlery, i.e. knife and fork, is better suited if they are the same for everyone. (different knives) Conviviality and the atmosphere is optimal and then you will come back.

Very cold because of the air conditioning. Had to ask 3 times if he could go out. And it took a long time before we got food. Very annoying with 3 small children. People who came in an hour later got food earlier! In the end the food was fine except for the children's food, the children's spaghetti was way too spicy! Staff was also friendly.

Eating on location is fine, but takeaway is not good. Semi-raw fries and satay without satay sauce when you get home. It's a shame because I like coming there, also in Axel.
