First time at Fat Phil's. It was very difficult to find, hidden somewhere on the outside of "the mall." A grumpy man behind the counter told me there was a minimum wait of 30 minutes. There were only four customers inside... It's a good fast-food chain. We ended up going to 5 Guys instead.

The food was lukewarm, the wings were wrong (and if you tell them you didn't get the right ones, they claim they were), the burger and cheese were burnt. We didn't get our fries and coke because we supposedly didn't order them, even though they were looking at the wrong receipt... We don't think we'll be back.

I walked into Fat Phil's and immediately felt: Here works a man who puts more soul into his business than the staff will ever put into their burgers. The owner is a bit scary from a distance, but as soon as you talk to him, he transforms into a warm, gentle little angel. When he told me he was the owner, I felt so proud I almost wanted to pinch his cheeks as if he were my own uncle. You can tell he's poured time, money, and love into the industrial vibe, into the wall art (really surprisingly modern for a boomer), and into every detail that he personally oversees. Secretly, he's just a reverse bounty: white on the outside, culture at heart. But honestly: the staff could show a little more respect and maybe pretend to be awake a little. The burgers? Okay. But they could definitely be better, especially when the boss isn't looking. The price-quality ratio is a bit on the high side, but his energy makes up for it. In short: A business run by one hardworking man with a heart of sugar. 4/5, simply because I wish him the best.

We had a delicious meal. It was relatively quiet here. The food arrived quite quickly.

The burger wasn't just disgusting, it was also way too expensive for the poor quality. The staff were unfriendly, and the service was poor. Definitely not worth it, and I'll never be back.

Free fries on Black Friday. They forgot all the meat except a patty on my Meat Madness burger. I'd been gone for half an hour, so I called, and they offered a refund. Still, a great burger and fries, and I got my money back because of the wrong order.

Had a delicious burger at Fat Phil's! 🍔 Truly one of the best I've had in a long time: juicy, perfectly cooked, fresh ingredients, and a super tasty sauce. The bun was nice and soft, and everything was nice and warm and fresh.

The food was incredibly tasty and served very quickly. The only issue is the price. I understand why this quality of food requires such a high price, but compared to fast food and dining out, I still think it's a bit much.

Went there for the first time and got a Philly cheesecake and didn't like it. It fell apart completely, had paper stuck around it, and it was hard to eat, and the meat just wasn't good. Way too expensive at 15 euros. The fries were also pricey but tasty. The sauce was fine, but they could have delivered the tray with some paper. It was quick to prepare.

I don't understand all the bad reviews. You might pay a tenner or two more than at McDonald's, but what do you expect? This isn't your typical fast food joint; you get good quality at a reasonable price. The food was delicious, everything was fresh, and we had it on the table within 10 minutes.

I got a 72 euro meal to try a little bit of everything, and the food was really good, especially for the price. The mac and cheese tasted plain and had no flavor other than boiled macaroni. I recommend ordering only the burgers and the chicken tenders because they were worth the money. I got the double chicken burger and the double cheeseburger, and they were really delicious, but so was everything else.

I went to Fat Phil's on September 1st. For dinner, I ordered a sweet potato dish. Completely burned! I went back to a girl with black hair, and she wouldn't help me. I forced her to remake it, and she eventually made it better, but it was still inedible!

I had a terrible experience with this restaurant. The address was impossible to find using navigation, and no one in the area knew where it was. I called several times, and when I finally reached someone, I was given incorrect directions. When I called again because I still couldn't find it, the employee spoke to me in a very rude and disrespectful manner. He literally told me it was my problem and that I would cause the food to be thrown away. When I asked if it could be delivered, he was again rude and completely unfriendly. In the end, I didn't receive my order, even though I paid for it. Very disappointing, no service, no respect for customers.

I used to come here for dinner and took a break, but after a long time, I decided to have a greasy meal again. Unfortunately, the best burger I ever had is no longer available. The chicken in the burger appears to be ground chicken that's been shaped to my liking. Previously, when you took a bite, you could see it was actually a chicken thigh or a chicken fillet with the chicken strings, but unfortunately, that's no longer the case. The quality of the double cheeseburger is also poor; the taste and quality are much lower. They're not the cheapest burgers, and that's fine with me as long as it's delicious.

I’ve been to this restaurant in different cities in the Netherlands, and they always have great quality food. However, this branch has the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. The manager looked angry the entire time, was extremely rude, and acted aggressively. It was so unpleasant that half of our group canceled their orders and went somewhere else. I do not recommend this branch at all — their behavior completely ruins the dining experience.

The food at Fat Phill’s was really tasty and enjoyable – no complaints there. But the service wasn’t great. When we went to order, the guy behind the counter acted a bit weird and kept us waiting. When the food was ready, he just handed me the burger in the paper wrap with a few tissues, no bag or proper packaging. That felt careless and unprofessional. The food itself is worth it, but I really hope they improve the service and presentation.

One star because we weren't even allowed to taste the food. We were refused service 40 minutes before closing time. A small, old, gray-haired, arrogant man stopped us from ordering at the terminal, which, incidentally, still indicated that orders could be placed. He rudely said, "The kitchen is closed," and then walked away. The restaurant was still full of customers at that time, and food was still being brought out of the kitchen. So it felt very strange that a fast-food restaurant would refuse customers 40 minutes before closing time.

No burger is worth €13 a piece let alone a greasy tasteless basic one that too in a stuffy, smelly(greasy smell as soon as u enter) no AC environment on a hot day . Im not going again.

Food was good and plentiful, filling after a day of walking through the Mall of the Netherlands. Was very quiet (we were the only ones). Staff was friendly enough. No complaints really. Wouldn't mind returning if we go back to the Mall.

Today we went to Feth Fils in Mall of the Netherlands and we were treated in a scandalous way. A short, white man with gray hair – probably an employee or owner – attacked us because my husband took a sip of water from his own bottle. He immediately started talking aggressively, saying that we were not allowed to bring our own drinks, as if we could know that (there was no sign anywhere). Instead of communicating this normally, he threatened to follow us, made angry hand gestures and even put his middle finger up. He said that we “shouldn’t see this as a picnic” and that we “weren’t welcome anymore”. We were in shock. This is not customer friendliness, this is intimidating and disrespectful behavior. He was on the verge of insulting us, just because someone had a bottle of water with them. A warning to everyone: don’t go here if you want to be treated normally. This is no way to treat people. As long as this kind of staff works there, Feth Fils is a place you better stay away from.

I went there today with a few friends. We just wanted to have a nice look around, but what an uncomfortable atmosphere there was… As soon as we were inside, we got a strange look from an employee. An older, short man with gray hair with an arrogant look. When one of us took a sip of her bottle of water (which she had brought herself), he exploded. He started saying that we were not allowed to have a drink, in an extremely blunt way. No explanation, no normal tone. We asked if he could talk to us in a normal tone but no, he looked like he had just come from the street!! He stuck his middle finger up and we were speechless. After that he kept looking at us, as if he had to keep an eye on us. As if we were doing something wrong by just walking around calmly. His attitude was so condescending and arrogant - no sense of customer friendliness at all. This is NO way to treat customers. If you can't show basic respect to visitors, you don't deserve customers. This arrogant man must be fired immediately.

I was the only customer and my order was ready quickly. Chilli cheesesteak was ok, bun too soft, meat could be more seasoned in my opinion. Seasoned fries were tasty, the coleslaw was just scooped from a large bucket from the wholesaler, no taste!

Nice place but very expensive. If you like that American melted cheese definitely recommended. For me it was a bit too much of a good thing. Portions are fine. A bit on the pricey. We were with 2 had 1 burger 1 sandwich and 1 loaded fries with drinks we spent 50 euros....

My girlfriend and I recently went to a burger joint in Westfield Mall of the Netherlands. We chose a cheeseburger with loaded fries (cheddar topping) and a drink. For almost 40 euros we expected some quality – especially considering all the videos we had seen online. Unfortunately, it was a big disappointment. The burger was small, the bun dry, and the cheese not even melted. The whole thing just didn’t taste fresh. The fries were limp and lukewarm, and the melted cheese on top was cold. In addition, the staff were not exactly friendly or helpful. We were really looking forward to this dinner, but left disappointed.

I’ve had quite some conflicting thoughts overall with the quality of the food. But the more I consider the price of the food, the more I realise that that the quality just does not match up. I’d much rather use my money and go to a proper burger spot if I’m craving a burger. I ordered the truffle burger and I wasn’t at all mad. The combination of truffle and the fig jam was surprisingly a nice combination. The only thing they need to figure out is the ratio of both ingredients as my burger became way too sloppy because jam was just spread everywhere in it. And again, for the price of the burger, it wasn’t much worth it. The beef patties itself were pretty basic, the bread wasn’t as fresh as I’d hoped for either. I also had a side order of wings. Another overpriced side for the quality. I was so excited for the lemon pepper wings and the sweet teriyaki but both were underwhelming. My appetite wasn’t pleased enough to want to finish the order. They should really consider creating a new batter and something more home made as it almost tasted as though they deep fried some chicken without flavour and just poured a pack of seasoning/ sauce on the wings. Also disappointed in the fresh lemonade. It was literally just syrup with water which costs so much. All in all, not at the top of my list for recommends when it comes to burgers and wings, at all. It’s not worth your money. If you’re looking to order loaded fries, I’d say you have better luck going for those.

Kudos to the entrepreneur. They forgot something with our order 3 weeks ago and remembered this by putting a handwritten note in the cash register. He solved this super by putting this right without being difficult. The man works hard and others can learn something from his customer service.

Today I went to Fat Phillip in Leidschendam, in the Westfield Mall, with my girlfriend and children. We were looking forward to eating here, but ended up leaving without ordering anything due to the incredibly rude attitude of the man behind the counter. My girlfriend tried to ask something in a normal and polite way by saying “sir, sir” twice. She thought he didn't hear her. Instead of saying “I'll be right with you” or something nice, he just continued to ignore her. Finally he responded in a particularly blunt manner: "I hear you, why do you keep calling me? I'm busy, right?" We immediately said, “Sorry, we thought you didn't hear us.” But his response was: "Yes, I think it's so strange. You see that I'm busy and you keep shouting. That's not possible, is it?" We were really surprised and shocked by this tone. This is not how you should treat customers, especially when children are present. We immediately got up and left. What a bad experience. We will never come back here again

Never going there again!!! Today was the 1st time I have been there. Everything was unclear, so I wanted to ask how I can order. So I called the employee. He didn't turn around and then shouted twice more. I thought the employee didn't hear me, but the gentleman ignored me. Then he turned around and said; You can see that I'm busy... He could at least say, I'll be with you shortly. Then I would have waited a while. The employee's response was not acceptable, so I indicated that I do not accept the diet and do not want to eat there. The employee's response was, great, go ahead!!! Maybe they could take a day's customer service course!

I got sick from it twice! Ate there for the first time a few months ago. The food itself is fine. Unfortunately I got sick afterwards. Today I wanted to try it again and unfortunately the same thing happened again. Employees are not customer friendly and that also makes the atmosphere less pleasant.

Upon entering, the gentleman immediately shouts that there is a half-hour waiting time because of the iftar and it seemed as if he found this very annoying. We planned to try Fat Phillls. When we came in we were already looked at a bit like... No, 'no customers after all'. The smell in the restaurant was, to say the least... Retro Musty. The menu cards on the tables gave an unclear picture of what exactly everything is. So we saw a column. Everything can be clearly seen there. Once everything was ordered.. And seriously people, we are 2 adults and 2 kids, we came to an amount of 86 euros. And then we would also share the fries with the children. Seriously... 86 euros. Big bye. All together. We left. It became BK.

Truly the most ridiculous price-quality ratio I have ever experienced. It's just a "luxury" fries shop and then you pay 80 euros for 3 people for a lukewarm bite.

Something strange happened to me today. Set foot in the business and was immediately attacked by the order that I was not allowed to drink my own drinks in the business. Still quite understandable. And I spent another €44 for 2 people… and it wasn't even a menu… 2 burgers with fries and drinks. Too expensive for what it is. Burger too salty and meat very far from the right note. My wife had a spicy burger and yet while ordering she removed the option. Average fries it's a shame Holland is known for these good fries. Disappointed overall. Otherwise nice atmosphere and sober decoration.

Like others have mentioned, they serve a different amount of food than what is written on the menu after you have already paid, with the excuse that the menu is old. The manager refused to serve what I paid for (what’s in the menu) and didn’t apologize at all for the situation. The food was mediocre and the atmosphere was not inviting.

Received 2 Philly cheese steaks with stale bread. It was difficult to bite into and after the first bite we went back to say something about it and for new bread (can happen). They were very angry and irritated towards us and threw the sandwiches away in front of us. Fine, we ask for our money back, says the employee; is good, but then you are no longer welcome. Never again and certainly not recommended. Annoying man is lucky I don't complain to his manager. *Blond man of about 50 years old.

NEVER AGAIN!!!!!! NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!!! My visit to Fat Phills in The Hague on December 8, 2024 was downright disappointing! Upon arrival at around 3:01 PM, placing our order via the order column went quickly, but after that it went downhill. We had to wait more than half an hour for our food, even though it wasn't particularly busy. To our frustration, other guests who came in at the same time as us received their food ten minutes earlier. Our drinks were served in advance, but due to the long wait they had become lukewarm. When our food was finally brought by a blond Dutch man with slicked back hair, his attitude was anything but friendly. When I politely asked for a new can of iced tea because my drink was lukewarm, I was treated in a disrespectful manner and asked "why" I wanted that. Instead of responding in a customer-friendly and professional manner, as I am used to from other restaurants, I was rudely asked to come forward myself and get a new drink. Earlier that day, the same employee had also asked me to get a napkin from behind the cash register because he was "busy". This is absolutely not how you treat customers. When I went to the cash register after dinner to speak to the manager, to my surprise it turned out that this RUDE employee was the manager himself. When I asked if this was his usual way of dealing with customers, he started shouting and making gestures, saying that I was "nagging for a drink after waiting five minutes for the food". Despite me explaining that we had waited over 30 minutes for two burgers, he couldn't answer anything meaningful and ended the discussion without offering any apologies or solutions. This experience was far below standard and absolutely not customer friendly. For me this is the last time I visit Fat Phillls!!!!!! I hope they improve their service so that other customers don't have to go through the same disappointing experience. PS: From the reviews it appears that I am not the only one who is treated this way. During my visit I also witnessed a customer asking for a straw and being told in an irritated and rude manner that she had to get it herself. If you don't like your job, maybe you should consider quitting instead of treating customers like this. It is understandable that no one wants to work for you and that it is supposedly "busy"! In addition, a wrong order was also served to the table in front of me. I saw and experienced enough during my visit! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!!!!

Besides this incident, the food was also nothing special. It was fine in itself, but certainly not something we would come back for.

Best loaded fries in the province!

This is the second chance I gave to the business . In our first visit we were waiting 45 mins for our order , before my ask on how longer would take for the food to be ready and surprisingly to get the answer that they skipped my order ! Now I went with some bags of McDonalds to take something for a take away , as food in fat Phil’s in general is good and someone ( seemed like the manager ) ran to me to ask me if I would sit here or take away . Obviously I realized that he was asking for my bag with McDonalds so I kept my anger and said take away . Then he continued saying that if I would like to sit there ( which I had just answered I wouldn’t ) I wouldn’t be welcome to do it . As a result , I walked away cause of the repetitive reminders as well as the bad past and then the manager yelled as I was leaving that I am not welcome To come back anymore ! Because I walked away from My order ! Crazy !

Dirty food chicken was not good, the only thing that was good was the drink (except the price)

I found the food unpalatable, the cheese sauce tasted spoiled and the burger was not seasoned. hardly any flavor that the burger has, hence the dollop of sauce on it. price too high for what you get. think before you come here.

We did it again... we went Fat Philling in The Hague... again this time, fat burgers with crispy fries and delicious sauces at fair (but increased prices). Here you can end your day of shopping in the Mall of the Nederlands with a culinary treat. There are enough free parking spaces. Tot ziens!

The food isn't awful but WAY too overpriced. For example: you're paying €14 for a VERY average burger. Besides that, expect to wait about 30 minutes before your order is finished. The employees are kind and work hard, no comments about them. I liked the music and graffiti on the wall, looks really cool and adds to the atmosphere. Unfortunately the food is way too overpriced, price to quality ratio is way off. I'd suggest going to one of the many other places...

It says online that they are open until 11pm on Saturday. But upon arrival (8:05 p.m.) we were told we were closed, while several tables inside were occupied.

Had dinner at Phat Phils yesterday with my husband and daughter. Chose to sit outside but the table was so ridiculously dirty when we wiped it with a baby cloth it was just black. Then we asked a man behind the counter if he wanted to clean the table and then we were told that this was not his priority, never heard something so ridiculous before 😂 then asked if we could clean it ourselves because it was just too dirty and then we got we received a cleaning bottle with wax paper with a super arrogant look from that man, what a terrible guy! The food was way too overpriced and I got a mini leaf of lettuce on my burger, all in all it was a special experience. Definitely not worth repeating.
