In for an espresso, pastel de nata (decently authentic), and an apple pie which was delicious. Cozy place.

The games aren't complete. Patatas bravas are refined potatoes with a little salt. The burgers are mediocre. The beer is good.

A wonderfully cozy cafe/restaurant with food and games that defies description. You always feel welcome.

Great Amsterdam bar. Used to be called “De Looier” which I like more than the current name, but nothing else has changes and it is still a great place to waste an evening away! Love it!

Ambiance is not bad and location is quite. By the canal and outside seating is good on a sunny day. However, service and food was quite average. Nothing special about the food or coffee. As far as service goes, they had no way to provide me a receipt which I needed for a business expense. They kept saying “our paper is not working”. They did not show any interest in helping solve the problem and almost made it sound like it was my problem. In hindsight, I should have put my foot down and insisted they figure this out as it’s required by law to produce a receipt. Note that I’m not a local so possible their treatment was biased. But keep it in mind if you choose to go 🤷🏽‍♂️

A cool pub spread over two floors, cozy and located on the canal. They serve small snacks and plenty of drinks, which are also happily brought to the outdoor seating by cheerful, very friendly staff. Regular live music, and a diverse crowd.

This is a proper old Dutch hangout and definitely not for tourists... We like to keep this amazing little gem to ourselves...😉😂

The pub was highly recommended to me as an authentic and warm place in Amsterdam, and I had been looking forward to the opportunity to experience it. Unfortunately, my visit fell far short of expectations, leaving me with a thoroughly unpleasant experience. I had booked a table for four people for lunch at 14:15, on Sunday 8th Dec 2024 but upon arrival, I was allocated a table in the middle of the bar, directly next to the front door. This placement was far from ideal, as we had to endure constant people traffic, people around us, and the front door opening and closing repeatedly created an uncomfortable cold draft. To make matters worse, the table had only three chairs despite the booking being for four people. When I informed the staff, a young lady brought a small stool instead of a proper chair. When I inquired if a proper chair was available, she did not respond and instead gave me a hostile look, which was incredibly unprofessional and unwelcoming. I have never encountered such poor customer service, and such bad education and her attitude alone left a sour impression of this business. Despite my strong inclination to leave due to this treatment, I chose to stay to avoid making my visitors feel uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience did not improve. While I understand that Festina Lente is not a formal restaurant and offers a limited menu, the food was mediocre and did not justify the restaurant-level prices. I had anticipated a cozy and enjoyable experience but was instead left dissatisfied and regretful of my choice. In summary, my visit to Festina Lente was marked by poor seating arrangements, very simple food, and unprofessional service. This was my first visit, and unfortunately, it will also be my last.

Traditional brown café with a hip crowd. Good selection of beers.

Typical neighborhood bar/restaurant. Cute corner sport with outdoor seating. Inside experience is a bit different. Service is so-so, especially at the bar. Several beers on tap plus the usual cocktails and the standard bar bites. I enjoyed the pale ale and marokkaanse balletjes- sautéed lamb balls with yogurt sauce. That’s all for now.

The sandwiches are comforting and the place is very calm and soothing. We had lunch there at midday, it was very nice!

Nice place, but it has become very expensive, even compared to surrounding cafes. Very unfortunate.

On a sunny autumn day, it was possible to drink a beer and order a small snack. The service was very nice and smiling. The atmosphere is relaxed and so is the decor.

The place is undemanding, the toilet is undemanding, they don't even ask you what to eat or drink. Terrible service. They don't care. I do not recommend!!

Nice cozy cafe to enjoy the sun. Tables outside are very close to each other. Hard to sit comfortably. That is the only downside.

Great place, super cozy location and everything the problem are the managers they don't have a menu for drinks, when asked the waiter says the menu is in his head. Ok that's fine, he says he has cappuccino, latte macchiato, and americano coffee. ok I want a Caffe macchiato, which in the whole world means coffe espresso with a splash of milk this guy argues that is actually "Americano" which doesn't make any sense, but anyhow I order that ordered 2 coffees, 1 orange juice, 1 Moscow mule after 20 minutes the waiters stil didn't even start preparing anything! when they brought everything, the coffee "Americano" was awful. It was actually what in Italy would be called a "ristretto" (that is half the volume of an espresso, we are talking about less than 10 ml of coffee) Super bitter to say the least, clearly burned and over extracted that was something like 3€ 20 something € in total of which 11€ for a Moscow mule!! and this was at like 2 pm!! ripoff to say the least glad didn't order any food cos I didn't want to wait another 2 hours for them to go catch a chicken and butcher it to prepare you a Sandwich

We went to this café to nibble on tapas and drink a glass of wine on the terrace, thanks to the Guide du Routard. It was very good, pleasant atmosphere and simple service. I recommend, and view of the canal.

Incredibly cute place by the canal, they have breakfast as well as lunch and dinner options but also perfect if you want just a drink.

A must visit cafe with a great selection of beers, food and coffee. Vincent runs the place and he is an incredible host and the music is always good. A cosy environment and great vibe for any time of the day and is open late! Lots of local people and not so many tourists. I drop in every time I visit and urge you to do the same!

Great atmosphere. Staff were helpful and friendly. Wine was good as was the coffee. Sadly werent able to eat there due to a Poetry Slam taking place on the only night we had available. :) Definitely recommend as an atmospheric and warm drop in on a cold December afternoon

Schönes Café mit gemütlicher Atmosphäre!

A great place for drinks and food. It looks and feels like an old fashioned 'bruin café', but with a more modern twist with the menu. They have a nice selection of lunch options and a variety of tapas to choose from. Staff was friendly, although we had to wait a bit. It was quite busy, with people meeting for talks and drinks (and games) and others like us to have a relaxed lunch. An easy recommendation.

Great staff and best flat white in Amsterdam

Jammer dat je geen dranklijst hebt. Ik kijk graag even waar ik zin in heb op het moment. De biertjes die we hadden vielen tegen. Geen bitterballen o.i.d. uit de frituur om te snacken. Wij zijn uiteindelijk weer doorgelopen om elders op een terras te gaan zitten.

Leuke tent aan de gracht met roze picknicktafeltjes. Ze hebben een gezellig team en goeie service. Ik vond de pasta ook erg lekker.

Ik kwam hier altijd graag. Maar de prijzen zijn inmiddels zo exorbitant (zeker 25% boven het gemiddelde in de directe omgeving), dat ik heb besloten dit cafeetje links te laten liggen.

This is one of my favorite places that we went to because it was so random! We stumbled upon this place because it was one of the only sit down places we could find in the area that served food. And boy was it good! Definitely a “locals” place because menu was all in Dutch but our server was so helpful it was no issue. Both of the people that worked there were always smiling so that was nice to see! So friendly! What he recommended to me was toast with some sort of lettuce or arugula and Burrata on top. It was so good! I also got the cappuccino. So good. They just make ‘em better in Europe. My friend had their croissant, cheese, and hard boiled egg. She said it was good too. Had a cute vibe as well! Like a bar/coffee place/cafe. They had games in the corner you could get out to play as well. Super cute! I would definitely come back here!
