You pay for what you order. They've understood that very well so far... But getting 3 croissants out of the 4 you paid for and only realizing it at home? Then it's the pastries. 5 of the 8 were in that paper bag, and then you have to go back...

Excellent bakery!!! Everything they make is very delicious and made with love!! Whether you get sourdough bread or the wonderful croissants you will be completely satisfied. The bakery is very clean and the staff is very kind!!

I've tried several times now to give Fort Nine a fair chance. Unfortunately, I always notice the same thing: the pastries all taste very similar. Even different flavors seem barely different. For example, the mango compote in a cruffin tasted almost the same as other fillings, while you'd expect something unique. At these prices, it's simply not worth it for me. It's a shame, because they're super friendly here.

I devoured two butter cookies (cinnamon croissant and almond chocolate croissant) along with a chai latte. Delicious and incredibly filling!

Went all the way west from Diemen via public transport because my wife insisted. Glad she did. Spacious bakery — well, limited seating, but still somehow spacious. Coffee bar on the left. Bread selection impressive. Service amazing. Efficient system in place. Wife spent her weekly groceries here. Budget… obliterated (just kidding, but it did feel like we almost robbed the store). Worth the journey.

I cross the city just to restock my speltbrood and granola, and I never leave without an almond croissant. My absolute favorites in Amsterdam. I just wish they had a few small tables or benches — it’s takeaway only.

Many non-Dutch speakers say, "If you ask for an unsliced ​​loaf, you get a sliced ​​one." A half-a-farmer's loaf weighs an average of 615 grams. I recently received a lot less than half, at just 530 grams, and even then, you find a piece of stone in the loaf.

Visited this place twice in three days. All the bread looks fantastic. Croissant cinnamon rolls are out of this world, best I've ever had. Buttery, crispy croissant dough with slight cinnamon (my mouth waters just thinking about it). Also tried two of their breakfast sandwiches. If you like kimchi, keep the "pickles", otherwise pass. I'm a huge fan.

Fort 9, Delicious with everything they sell..

It took me 45 minutes to walk from the city center, and unfortunately, the bakery is completely overrated. The quality of the products is good, but you can get the same in Germany. They bake everything themselves, and you can watch them, and the staff was very friendly—but I wouldn't go there again.

Very good products, but maybe a bit too pricey. Today I bought a 13 euro sandwich- expecting it to be at least as good as the cheaper (yet still costly) options. Unfortunately, it wasn’t worth it. It wasn’t a very balanced sandwich, but I can see there was a lot of input used. I guess you have to know what to buy- yet then again it’s a bit too expensive to gamble. And for these prices I do think seating inside should be available - but it’s too busy. Which is caused by the hype I guess. Very friendly staff nonetheless

The famous cheese soufflé sandwich. My opinion. Of course, it's a very old concept in Amsterdam. So it's not really new, as many millennials think. 😁 It is very tasty, though, and this one is too. A good sandwich and a delicious cheese soufflé. The sauce is tasty, but way too much, making it a mess and overpowering, which is a shame. And the price, oh dear, is a bit high for a regular cheese soufflé sandwich. You'll be full in one go, though, so it's perfect for lunch. Definitely try it and enjoy it. Would I queue for it again? I don't think so. Because I really hate that anyway.

20 different types of pastries and only one, super sugary, plant-based option. I think in 2025 you can do better than this

We tried the pain au chocolat and the hibiscus compote pastry. Both were delicious, and the hibiscus one was a unique and pleasant surprise. Luckily, the queue wasn’t very long when we visited, but I wouldn’t say it’s worth waiting in a long line for. Still, a nice spot to try if you’re nearby.

Omg,the staff were so friendly and really took good care of the customers. Sometimes when I go to places, I come across employees who are superficial and not genuinely friendly, but Fort Negen was completely different. Their miso cookie, kaas croissant, and of course their almond chocolate croissant are the best!

Fort Nine gets a -1 from me if I could! The owner who insists I buy unsliced ​​rye bread is, in my opinion, a bad business owner, despite the quality of his products. I will never spend a cent here again.

I'll have to see what the hype is all about. Sourdough seed bread is incredibly delicious, though twice by early afternoon I've stopped getting small loaves, only half large ones. Service is mediocre, and they only deliver in huge paper bags, not plastic ("we don't sell that"), so if you want to freeze it, you have to transfer your bread to bags in batches yourself. If you're a serious baker, ask your customer whether they want their bread sliced ​​or unsliced, in plastic or paper.

Went there for the first time recently, and the bread was delicious! I suffer from stomach problems and a light stomach, and this bread had no negative impact on it!

If you want bread, sandwiches, something sweet or coffee then this is the place to be! Everyone from far and wide is also aware of this so expect queues. The staff are amazing - I've no idea how they stay cheerful and efficient! I'm just very grateful they are willing to work there.

The cheese croissant, chocolate croissant, almond croissant, and sourdough bread are so incredibly delicious. You won't find better anywhere in the Netherlands. It's a shame all the weekend specials were gone an hour and a half before closing on Saturday. But it wouldn't hurt to try again another time, even if it's a three-hour drive there and back. It would be great if the weekend specials were also available on Fridays. The staff is always friendly, no matter how busy it is. Fantastic!

I bought a cheese croissant, a plain one, and some bread —they were all absolutely delicious! The staff were polite and patient. The only downside is that there’s no place to sit except for one bench outside, which was quite crowded. If you don’t plan to sit down, I highly recommend this place!

There's so much hype here, but I was quite disappointed. The coffee is absolutely awful, and the pastries were disappointing, even though I tried them several times. On the plus side, the staff is incredibly friendly!

The sourdough bread with seeds is undoubtedly delicious. However, in my opinion, the croissants, cruffins, Danishes, etc., are always baked too dark. This makes it less appealing and affects the taste. It's also unhealthier because it releases carcinogenic substances. So, I would definitely go for the bread, but not for the rest.

Came here and tried the bread pudding which was unfortunately a poor choice. It was just a block of bland stodge! It really had no flavour at all, including the icing on top, which is a shame because I loveee a bread pudding. Maybe a poor pick from our part, hence why I’ve only ducted one star.. All the other pastries looked delightful, service was efficient and the place has a real buzz to it. I’ll be back, just not for the bread pudding 🥲

There was a line, so we thought it best to join since the smell of freshly baked bread and butter from the croissants was wonderful outside. A truly irresistible aroma🤤 It was a delicious cheese croissant! The best we've had so far. The canelé was nice and crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, just how it should be. If we're ever in Amsterdam again, we'll definitely get more! It was truly delicious.

The best pain au chocolat in my life! My French friend took me there. The Fort Negen team uses Valrhona chocolate for the chocolat filling so the chocolate quality of this pain is top-notch. You can also see the crew working the doughs and baking fresh breads. Highly recommended. A gem in Amsterda.

I’ve tried pretty much everything from the pastries to the bread to the soft serve to the sorbet (with or without toppings) — all excellent. As someone who grew up in France, I can confidently say that they might make one of the best croissants I’ve ever had. Everything tastes decadent, flavorful, and is very well-executed. Sellers are always friendly and helpful even if it is extremely busy. Very convenient that you can also get coffee on the side.

A very popular local one! Also you can see a long queue in the shop. They offer many options with bread, pastries, ice cream and others. I wanna have a cruffin but they only serve them on weekends. Instead I took a choco almond croissant and kombucha. The croissant is very different from the ones in France, here they are more crispy, and idk if it’s common the one I bought had two layers. The filling is rich, I can taste so many chocolate. I saw a lot of locals they bought 4 or 5 bags, so I think the bread should be good too! Recommend to come and have a try!

It was fantastic. The almond croissant was perfectly flaky, and the cheese soufflé sandwich was perfectly balanced with the fresh sauce and pickled onion. The coffee was also delicious.

Top-quality pastries and baked goods, all artisanally made on the spot, everything is incredibly fresh and flavorful. The selection may not be extensive, but it's delicious. We ordered a classic croissant with perfect air bubbles, a pain au chocolate that was incredibly flavorful and not too buttery, and a delicious flaky cinnamon roll with a truly balanced cinnamon flavor.

Fort Negen has amazing soft serve, served in half a croissant! It’s novel, and it’s delicious. I also bought a loaf of the raisin and nut bread, which was dense and wonderful with a slight sourdough tang to counteract the sweetness of the raisins. Amazing. I made the time to come here during a six hour layover in Amsterdam and it was so worth it.

Finally I visited this bakery. The place is cute and the service is high. There is a very good choice of sweet baked goods like cinnamon rolls, pain au chocolate, many types of croissants, gluten free brownies and bread ofc. I took an almond croissant which was good, rich but still a bit on the heavy side for me when it comes to butter.. But this is typically dutch,overall was good, just not my taste completely so I will try something different next time. The brownie was delicious, I will take it again for sure. They bake the goods in front of you and you can see the ladies knitting the dough live from the windows shop

Pastries were delicious. Tried the kaascroissant and the Rum Cruffin! Lines were not too long at 11am. Staff is very pleasant. We also got bread - not sure, but it felt very underbaked in many parts. No seating area. They also have a sandwich shop next door.

Broodje tahini was super super super vies. Ik kom jaren voor de bakkerij en dat zit helemaal goed. Lekker brood. Maar de belegde broodjes zijn wel even een teleurstelling. Althans, het broodje met tahini. Zat kaas en ei op en crispy geraspte aardappelen. Smerig mensen. Niet aan te raden. Na 2 happen de prullenbak in. Jammer.

Used to be crazy about this place (I didn’t even mind the 7 euro double shot late haver but all of their pastries are burnt and if you get the bread pudding with glacé, be aware it’s because the cake is black as charcoal on top. Blah

The bakeries I ordered are incredible, the iced latte was not bad but nothing special. But the presentation of the food here is something I really dislike, all papers. Even if you dine in, there’s no actual nice plate or glass, it’s nakeries serviced on napkins, drinks in paper cups and paper straws. This is the worst idea ever. Such perfect food just ruined by bad presentation

It's a lovely little establishment. It's small but so busy that the wait in line is worth it. In my experience throughout my travels so far, it was the best almond croissant I've ever had. You can also get your coffee inside the establishment. I'll definitely be back.

It’s not TikTok that made this place popular, it’s the quality. A must-go for anyone who loves good bread. I often buy a Boerenbruin (farmer's brown bread), rye bread, and the ‘Paris eat your heart out’ Croissant. And the Chocolate Miso cookie is my guilty pleasure (great for sharing). I love dark-baked bread, and they'll search one out for you if you ask. You can also request how thick you'd like your bread sliced; super convenient. This bakery is truly worth a detour.

4.5/5 The almond croissant has a high butter content, making it crispy and flaky, but the pastry itself is rather flat and the air pockets aren’t very noticeable. There’s a generous amount of almond cream, and it’s not too sweet. I really like it. The cruffin, on the other hand, wasn’t as impressive. The sugar on the outside was a bit too sweet and overpowered the buttery aroma of the pastry, and it wasn’t as crispy as I expected. The filling had more fruit jam than cream.
