A waste of money, nothing original except for the heavily dilapidated building. But that’s not much to look at either. They find it more important to drill into everyone that they want to be energy neutral.

Had a really fun and interesting guided tour. Highly recommended for a visit to the fort island.

Today, we visited Pampus with our 8-year-old son. We enjoyed it immensely! My son particularly liked the blacklight scavenger hunt and the key activity. Personally, besides the fort, I also enjoyed the boat trip and the friendly, welcoming volunteers. There was plenty to do and experience. We will definitely go back again.

Interesting, lots of information, a nice hot air balloon film, and a cozy restaurant. The boat trip to the island of Pampus makes the whole experience complete.

I went for my husband, and he is a WWI and WWII collector. I have visited many settlements, bunkers, forts, and castles, and Pampus was the worst he has seen, except for the boat trip. He found it dilapidated and not worth the money. Not a single original artifact except for a piece of roof. Dilapidated and unfortunately not fun.

With the videos, animations, etc., it was a very fascinating visit. It is, of course, a dead monument, but it has been brought very much to life because of it.

I was on Pampus before, in the 90s or early 2000s. It is amazing now, with all sorts of new things to see or do! I especially think the balloon basket is a great idea. You can easily spend a few hours on Pampus and I don't know if we even saw everything! What possibilities there are now: staying overnight, camping, spending time there with groups or classes. And that is not even mentioning the island's self-sufficiency regarding electricity, water, growing your own vegetables, etc. You simply have to see Pampus at least once!

A special historical site! In good weather, the day gets off to a great start on the water during the boat trip. It is interesting to learn more about the defense line during the First World War, thanks in part to the enthusiastic volunteers who share their stories with such passion. Excellent to combine with a subsequent visit to Muiderslot Castle.

We really enjoyed our time at Pampus. Our daughter found the dark corridors quite scary, so we skipped the very dark ones. We were helped in a friendly manner everywhere. So we really had a super day.

Brilliant place to visit and get some dutch history

Had a super fun evening with delicious food, tasty wines, and very good service in a beautiful, impressive setting!

Highly recommended for curious and/or adventurous kids. The tour is listed as age 12, but I think that from age 9 or 10 they are ready for it as well. In the end, we enjoyed ourselves the whole afternoon.

Spent a day at Pampus today: awesome! What a fantastic island, and there is so much to see and do! It started with the ferry to the island. It immediately gives you a kind of holiday feeling (think of the boat trips to the TVTAS islands). A great and beautiful boat trip. And then the visit to the island: in one word, amazing! How cool to see that defensive structure from bygone years. And the explanations via signs, photos, a "hot air balloon ride," etc., were sublime (also for children!). So, compliments and thanks to all the volunteers (Mieke was pure gold during our tour of the fort!), managers, organizers, etc. We had a fantastic day!

Through word of mouth, we found a couple to spend a day in the so-called light house. Read about it being romantic, etc. Well, full of optimism, we took the ferry to Pampus. (Nice, friendly crew). In the late afternoon, we were warmly welcomed by the waiting staff. After checking in, we immediately received the key to the light house. At first glance, it was quite nice. I did notice right away that there was a lot of cobweb outside. But because both windows were open (37°C), there was a lot on the inside as well. Since we are spoiled, we asked for a cobweb brush and received one. After clearing the room of cobwebs a bit ourselves, we went back for the introduction and the story about how things work and if... We had dinner! Which, by the way, is vegetarian, well?! I'm quite a picky eater, so? Personally, I found the first starter absolutely inedible. It was a combination of Mexican? with no idea! Doritos with old dry cheese. In short, I didn't like anything on the plate. And then I saw 2 small pieces of melon... when you haven't eaten anything all day, you're happy. I took them in my mouth. And my face has never contorted so much... melon dipped in lemon!!!! Haaaa!!! Gross... I was done with it. After an hour, we got the next treat inside the restaurant. Dry, hard bread with salmon and mussels with shrimp and sauce. Afterwards, I had more waste than actual food that was edible for me. The shrimp and mussels were so small, it immediately made me think of a 1:25 scale... My salmon was clearly from the microwave and just fried up, because the texture was nowhere to be found. It was like porridge in your mouth. Dessert afterwards was a scoop of vanilla ice cream and some soft, thawed fruit. In short, very hungry and with a bag of nuts we still had, we went to sleep; by then it was already 11:00 PM. Well, off we went. In the meantime, a whole colony of spiders had emerged. Scared and horrified, we tried to sleep above the clouds under our picnic blankets. Of course, we couldn't sleep and spent our time staring at the ceiling and walls with a flashlight, watching how all those spiders came to life and how all those webs we had removed were being repaired. At 2 a.m., we fled the lighthouse. We wandered around until 3:40, but out of exhaustion, we went back because it started raining. With coats on, socks and long pants, and with it being 30 degrees inside the house, we still tried to sleep, both of us huddled together in the middle. Taking turns keeping watch with the flashlight before they came down. I heard my girlfriend snoring a little; I looked up with the flashlight to see three spiders fighting, and one came down exactly at the height of my girlfriend's head. I almost wanted to kick her out of bed. Fortunately, the spider stopped 30 cm above her head and climbed back up. In short, we didn't sleep the whole night. Luckily, my girlfriend lasted 30 minutes thanks to my heroic performance🤪 Eagerly waiting for the first ferry to go back to the mainland. (1100) Breakfast was a nice setup but meager and well.... We were served breakfast in the cottage, but we took it with us, opened it up somewhere else, and ate it. The staff was very friendly and helpful.. great people. However, the cottage could be a bit cleaner for the price you pay for one night. There wasn't even a trash can, and the table was crooked, causing round items to roll off. And it would be better to spray all the cracks and beams behind it with expanding foam so the spiders stay out. Outside is okay.. but inside??? In short, this isn't for spoiled brats, hillbillies, and influencers. Or so it seems to me... The business is nicely set up. However, a wooden cottage between stone and concrete just doesn't quite fit. It should rather be a stone-light cottage.. But that is my personal opinion and taste!

The guide Ruurd was great! Pampus is an experience you simply must see! But I think 5.25 for a flat piece of apple pie is really too much and looks like exploiting tourists.....

Very interesting visit. Learned a lot about Pampus thanks to the guide. That tour was a real added value. Told with humor! Lots to see and exciting corridors. A minor downside is that it is not well signposted if you walk around inside on your own after the tour, or want to walk around the outside of the fort.

A lovely destination for a day out. This was my second time. There will definitely be a third time. Plenty to see. There is also plenty to do for children. The restaurant serves excellent food and drinks.

A nice day out by boat from Muiden to Pampus. Good audio(visual) information at various points in the fort. It remains instructive, educational, and interesting.

It is certainly nice to visit once and delve into the history of the Fort. A guide is recommended, but you can also wander through the rooms on your own, where there is a display, film, explanation, or other means of guidance everywhere. I definitely recommend spending about 4 hours there. There is a restaurant where you can have something to drink and eat. The only downside, in my opinion, is that the last boat leaves Pampus as early as 5:00 PM, and the restaurant was already in closing mode from 4:30 PM.

Incredibly fun with children. The boat trip is an experience in itself. It was quiet when we were there. We took the boat on Friday at 11:30 during the summer holidays. Friendly and helpful volunteers walk around on the island. The 7 and 9-year-olds thought the scavenger hunt was really cool. We walked through narrow spaces. Afterwards, we did the hot air balloon ride and the key codes. It would probably be a bit more difficult with the games and scavenger hunt if it were busier. For us, it was a fantastic day. Watching the Klokhuis video the day before is also a good tip! The boys were prepared and were really looking forward to it!

We went to Fort Pampus with our family during the holidays. A very nice experience. The boat crossing and the educational tour you could do on the island. We were thrilled.

I used to come here as a small child. Back then it was still a dangerous ruin, which made it super exciting! But even now, it is still a lovely place to be, and it is nice to go for a boat ride. A really fun afternoon out.

The boat trip to and from Pampus was in good hands. And led by nice and helpful people. The restaurant had good products and the people were very friendly. However, we do have a critical note regarding the toilets. What is wrong? The men's toilets were dirty, but the ladies' toilets were extremely filthy, so filthy that several ladies left the toilets in great disgust and even stopped using them. So, what was supposed to be a nice trip was unfortunately cut short because the toilets were so dirty. Tip

A nice, unique day out. By boat, you really feel like you're "getting away for a day." An interesting tour by an expert guide, followed by a walk around on our own and a look everywhere. Informative! They really thought about making it fun for children too. Friendly staff everywhere. A virtual balloon ride as an extra treat. Because Pampus is small and has never been used for its intended purpose, that was enough; I wouldn't be quick to go a second time myself.

Always nice to be there again after a bit of boating, a bit of history, and enjoying a cup of coffee.

We enjoyed ourselves immensely with our daughters. The boat from Muiden is quite an experience in itself. On the island, we first enjoyed a nice walk around on our own, then had a delicious lunch, and after that did the scavenger hunt! There is plenty to do and see for everyone.

The films, and especially the virtual balloon ride, are highly recommended. I found the information about the construction at the time and the concept of self-sufficiency downright impressive. The visit to Pampus gave us much more than we had anticipated. Plus, there is a nice restaurant.

Visit Pampus, We visited Pampus today. A nice boat trip to the fortified island. Upon arrival, we immediately had a cup of coffee and a delicious piece of apple pie. After that, we were able to join the guide right away. He showed us the fort in a fun and informative way. It was interesting to hear about the history of the island. Afterwards, we 'did' the virtual balloon ride over the fortifications around Amsterdam. After a tasty lunch, we took a walk around the island. You can cover the whole area within half an hour. It was nice to watch the informative film about the island's self-sufficiency. In short, a fun outing that we did with a discount using a Museum Card and a Postcode Lottery ticket.

Cool island, great for a day trip. For young and old!

It was really nice to have visited once, especially in combination with dinner and camping! The service is perfectly organized! You can walk around the island itself in no time, but the museum is very interesting and nicely laid out. Because we stayed overnight, we got an evening tour when everyone else had left, which was really cool! The breakfast isn't necessarily huge, but it's nice that it's delivered to the tent. The dinner is nicely organized, the chefs really do their best, but the drinks are mega expensive. The drinks were also pricey on the boat on the way there and in the café the next day.

Together with the grandsons, we enjoyed a visit to Pampus. They thought the blacklight scavenger hunt was fantastic. I would also have liked to do the guided tour, but (unfortunately) it was only for ages 12 and up, and our youngest was 10.

By boat from Muiden to Pampus. Reservations are necessary for the outward journey; free choice for the return trip. The island was bigger than expected! There is a free audio guide and you can join the guided tour. Ruurd spoke with great enthusiasm; it was fun, thanks! It was nice that there was a free water station on this warm day. Free car parking is available in Muiden at P1 & P2, both about a fifteen-minute walk to the ferry.

Today we visited the fortified island of Pampus. It was a unique experience. The boat crew was also very helpful. And the wheelchair we had requested was already ready. The explanation of the fort's function was clearly explained to both adults and children using very engaging videos. In the future, I recommend that family and friends visit this interesting fortified island.

It's worth taking the steamboat there. It's very interesting.

The boat trip to the fort is a treat in itself. The scavenger hunt and games route for the kids is a great way to discover the fort and learn about how people lived in the past. They walk through the entire fort without even realizing it. The hot air balloon ride is a fun experience; the volunteer was very enthusiastic, which makes it even more enjoyable.

I enjoyed myself with my party of 9 people (75+). The map we received could have been a bit more detailed for us. Overall, highly recommended.

What an experience! Muiden is already beautiful with its castle. By the way, you can see it beautifully from the ferry to Pampus. On Pampus, there is plenty to do for young and old. We did two scavenger hunts. The last boat back leaves at 5 pm.

Super interesting and fun island. Learned a lot and got a nice breath of fresh air. Lunch was yummy.

Enjoyed the unique location and interesting information; the ferry was only delayed on the way there and back, but that wasn't very bothersome. Plenty of boats pass by the departure point, and waiting on the island is not a problem anyway.

A really nice place to moor the boat for a bit and grab a bite to eat or drink. Cozy terrace with a stunning view.

Beautiful crossing to Pampus from Muiden. There is a lot to see at the fort, and I would definitely recommend joining the guided tour. There is quite a lot for children to see, but I think they will be bored after 1.5 hours. We were there for about 5 hours ourselves.

I visited Fort Island Pampus by ferry from Muiden with two grandchildren, aged 8 and 6. They had an unforgettable day, with fun scavenger hunts and games, and happily wandering through scary, dark corridors. The round-trip boat trip topped it all off.

A beautiful piece of Dutch history, with state-of-the-art facilities. Enter at your own risk; the bunker has slippery spots and it is very easy to hit your head, be warned!

Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time to see everything, so I definitely have to come back again. The tour was very well done and explained in an understandable way. The film about the forts around Amsterdam and the virtual balloon ride were fantastic.

A nice family outing; the boat trip is certainly a fun addition. The dining experience was more than fine. What struck me is that the wooden stairs and bridges are less well maintained; a lot of parts are loose, and that is unsafe with small children in your arms.

Very interesting museum! But I got bored quickly and find it a bit poorly signposted, all inside the museum itself; you are definitely done after 1.5 hours. And the boat trip on the IJssel was also nice, about 20 minutes by boat!

A fun and educational place to visit. Our 5 and 7-year-old children particularly enjoyed the scavenger hunt. It was nice strolling through the fort, having a drink on the terrace, and during the summer holidays there is a fun lab for children where they can do a little experiment and do arts and crafts.

It is impressive to walk around here. The guided tour is highly recommended; volunteers share the history of Pampus with great enthusiasm.

We really enjoy our stay today at Pampus. The men who tell us about the history was good and told the story with humor. We enjoy the airbaloon trip. The boattrip was nice and really joyable. We will come back with our grandchilderen so the can learn about our history.

Beautiful Fort Pampus, very interesting history, and the tour with God's Peter was very good; he has detailed knowledge of the fort and island, and great interaction with the visitors. Beautiful nature, everything eco-friendly and sustainable, a truly enjoyable experience for all ages.

Nice day out, short boat trip, interesting facts about the island. Camping is also possible during the high season. Very friendly service in the restaurant.

If you go to Pampus, you are guaranteed a wonderful day. A lovely trip by boat, and the fort provides vivid information. You can also sit outside and grab a bite to eat. We had a fantastic day!

Super exciting and interactive. We were absolutely thrilled. And the tour led by the volunteers was incredibly interesting.

Authentic fortress, with a bit trip you need to make to reach it, absolutely fantastic! With a nice cafeteria on island where you can eat with a nice view on the sea. Interesting for both kids and adults, and finally museum card friendly. I would give it six stars if I could.

We had a blast here for our company weekend. It was both interesting and entertaining. Would recommend.
