Restaurant Faulk in Bussum Centrum

We recently dined at Faulk's, and it wasn't just "eating"; it was a true experience! Each dish was a masterpiece, a delight for the palate, and—it was a surprise menu—each dish came with a lovely explanation of the dish itself and the accompanying wine or juice. I had the juice pairing, and it was a truly surprising experience, incredibly delicious and unique, and I think no wine can compare! Add to that the wonderful atmosphere and very friendly service. A full 100 points and highly recommended, I think!

Hands down my favorite restaurant in town. Delicious food (and gorgeous, too!), great wines & pairings, and the owners are delightful. Already thinking of excuses to go back real soon.

Had a great evening with delicious food and very special flavors. Service was great, nothing was too much and the lady was very friendly. The restaurant is very cozy and the tables are not too close together. The fact that you can only choose from a menu seemed like a disadvantage to us, but because of the smaller quantities it was perfect. We were also kept busy when we were the last ones to sit comfortably. We would love to come back again soon.

We had a delicious meal here. Faulk is one of the top in the Gooi and in our opinion is actually the best. The matching wines were well chosen and completed the dinner.

On a Saturday evening I end up in the Faulk restaurant in Bussum and that is a really nice surprise. Faulk is a small restaurant that has been decorated with great care and attention, It feels warm. You could call it subtle and that also applies to many of the dishes. We choose the 4-course menu and it has a lot to offer. Faulk also often knows how to present beautiful wine-food combinations. It is not always successful, but the combinations with a nice glass of Albarino from the Spanish region of Rias Baixas or a Cardonnay from the Languedoc are certainly very nice. The ravioli with spinach, ricotta, pine nut vinaigrette and cheese foam is impressive. A nice subtle combination of flavors and structures. The main course, polder fowl, is also excellent, although the glass of Croatian Teran does not suit it as well. We finish with a cheese board. Faulk is highly recommended. The dinner is delicious, they know how to present a nice combination with the wines, the service is very nice. This is just a pleasant place to spend an evening.

Always a culinary highlight, eating at Faulk. Relaxed atmosphere, knowledgeable people, fantastic wine advice. Every dish is a party!

After 10 years we returned to Faulk and again had a delicious meal. We had something to celebrate so we had an extensive dinner. We are not big eaters so the four-course menu was more than sufficient. With a nice bottle of Portuguese wine we were completely satisfied. It would have been nice if we could have had a salad with it. Price/quality excellent, but I think the wines are quite expensive.

Fine Dining in a relaxed atmosphere!

Beautiful and delicious dishes. Balanced menu. You can taste the chef's expertise in every dish. Beautiful and unexpected wines that match the dishes perfectly. Excellent service and hospitality from the hostess who is also an excellent sommerlier.

Had a very nice experience. Upon entering we were warmly welcomed and immediately noticed the intimate atmosphere and the beautiful interior. We went for the 5 course menu (my wife went for the vegetarian version) and it was delicious. Also for those who don't drink, a non-alcoholic drink pairing menu is provided that is definitely recommended. We'll be back.

Wij vonden het eten heerlijk en de service heel erg attent. Ook ziet de zaak er mooi uit; alleen een bepaalde ‘warmte’ ontbreekt. Misschien iets te ‘braaf’. Behalve dit was ook wijn heerlijk en goed gekozen bij de gerechten.

We had a very nice evening here. Food was delicious, we had the 5 course dinner with wine pairing. Each wine came with a nice and accurate explanation about the wine region and in combination with the food it was perfect.

Update 2024 FAULK has undergone a metamorphosis in terms of decoration and furniture. It now seems like you are dining in a 'kitsch jungle'. The dinner is still excellent, but we (and others) think the metamorphosis really does not suit such a classic restaurant. Miss a personal touch, photo frames from Hollywood greats...? What does this have to do with FAULK? You see this design everywhere in major cities. Shame. --- FAULK ANNIVERSARY MENU enjoyed, tastefully and ingeniously prepared by the passionate chef Menno. Owner Monique chooses excellent combinations of wines with the dishes. She enjoys talking about the wines she has chosen. Definitely recommended, but for us the portions could be a bit larger.

We hebben hier gegeten voor een wine - dine experience in samenwerking met de Wijnhalte in Huizen. We hebben heerlijk gegeten. Echt een aanrader.

Food is good, but the portions are very small. This makes the overall experience somewhat disappointing.

A delightfully intimate family run restaurant. The food was fantastic, with textures and flavours brilliantly showcasing the chefs talent. All the elements were executed perfectly. The chef did come out to speak to us after the meal and it was a lovely personal touch, his passion added to our dinning experience. The wine paring was also spot on, with the hostess seemingly genuinely knowledgable on the wines. We will definitely be back!

The quality of the cuisine here is excellent. Every dish is prepared with great care and craftsmanship. The service is very attentive and professional. The chosen combination of wines with the dishes is very good. Restaurant is one of the best in 't Gooi. Highly recommended.

Lovely restaurant, great service, good food also the vegetarian option is wonderful. Portions are just nice, Dessert is good but not spectacular, Beetroot is top just as the quinoa.

Nowhere is the food as personal as at Faulk. The atmosphere is also small and friendly with excellent service and attention. The food is subtle and surprising with excellent wines. Only the chairs are not comfortable if you want to dine all evening.

Again great. Last Saturday everything was taken care of down to the last detail, and everything was perfectly coordinated. Highly recommended!

Gemoedelijke sfeer in dit huiskamer restaurant. Goede gerechtjes en mooi opgemaakt. Het tussengerecht van bietjes was voortreffelijk. Ook de bijpassende wijnen waren goed maar ook verrassend. Met allergieën werd flexibel omgegaan. Komen na de verbouwing graag een keer terug!

Wat een top restaurant, heb samen met mijn vriendin het 5 gangen menu genomen. 1 x vega 1x normaal met het alcoholvrije dranken arrangement. We hebben er van genoten, ene gerecht nog beter als het andere. Ook de begeleidende drankjes vielen heel goed in de smaak. Een aanrader

What a great restaurant, I took the 5 course menu with my girlfriend. 1 x vegetarian 1x normal with the non-alcoholic drinks package. We enjoyed it, one dish even better than the other.

A very enjoyable experience for a special occasion. Surprising tastes based on combinations of Dutch produce only. Beautiful delivery with personal intros for each dish by the chef. The dishes are expectedly small and that's quite alright, as this is about teasing your taste buds and the nuance fades away after a few bites. That said, the 4-dish course served over approx. 1 hour left us almost full, and the absolutely fantastic bread served with the meal finished the job:) Each of the 4 dishes was paired with some very nice wines offered by the glass. Loved it and would love to come back.

We had a really delicious meal at Faulk. A nice cozy homely atmosphere and a chef who really knows what cooking is. All the hallways were little works of art. The matching wines were also delicious. Nice reception and service. A top place for a nice dinner in Bussum.

We waren midden in de week gekomen. het restaurant heeft een menu, waarbij je hooguit het aantal gangen kunt kiezen. Uiteraard kan rekening worden gehouden met allergiën mochten die er zijn... daar hadden we gelukkig geen last van. We werden in alle opzichten super verwend door de chef en de bediening. We waren super tevreden en zetten het zeker op de nominatie om nog eens te komen!

We haven't wanted to go here for a while. We should have done that much sooner! Delicious dishes and personal service. We had a wonderful evening. Super.

Eten was fantastisch, helaas de rest erom heen viel zwaar tegen. Akoestiek kan beter, veel geluidsoverlast van luidruchtig tafel, kon elkaar soms niet verstaan.. Bediening kon zeker beter, veel vergeten, geen bestek op tafel etc.

Zeer geslaagde avond gehad bij restaurant Faulk. We werden mooi verrast door de vegetarische gerechten, creatief en zeer smaakvol. En we kregen ook goede alternatieven voor niet alcoholische dranken, wat je niet vaak ziet in het Gooi. Nogmaals bedankt toppers Menno en Monique voor de mooie avond.

Heb hier vorige week gegeten met 5 personen. Was helemaal top. Mooi menu van hoge kwaliteit, mooi wijn arrangement en aardige attente bediening. Aanrader!

Het 10-jarige feestmenu Faulk vinden wij echt een aanrader! Elk gerecht was een plaatje en de smaaksensatie voortreffelijk. Top-kookkunst! En super goede bediening die alles weet van de wijnen.

'Het 10-jarig bestaan menu' was werkelijk verrukkelijk en mooi uitgebalanceerd. En het wijnarrangement erbij was weer heerlijk en origineel. Echt een aanrader!

Je mag, als je een bepaalde prijs betaald verwachting hebben. Wij hadden een 5 gangenmenu. De porties zijn klein en het is vooral biet, aardappel met klein beetje zuurkool en het stukje ontbijtspek nauwelijks zichtbaar. Het voorgerecht beetje zalm is niet spectaculair en het stukje rund. Wat in lengte 2 cm was en misschien breedte 1 cm, was niet mals. Het dessert was zeker niet slecht maar niet verfrissend eerder droog...De smaken van overige is goed maar niet onvergetelijk! De prijsverhouding klopt niet, qua inkoop en verkoop. Er wordt niet gekookt met passie. De bediening is ook op de automatische piloot. Het lijkt of het hart er niet meer is...

Afgelopen zaterdag geweldig genoten van het jubileum menu. Alles mooi op smaak, prachtig gepresenteerd en prettig geportioneerd. Wij waren onder de indruk. En bij iedere gang een passende wijn middels het wijnarrangement. Veel dank voor een hele fijne avond!

Heerlijk eten, nette goede bediening en goede bijpassende wijnen. Echter zijn de gangen wel aan de kleine kant.

Als altijd weer een topavond. Wat een heerlijke gerechten en wijn / spijs combinaties. 😋

Mooi gebalanceerd menu met veel zorg en smaak bereid. Goede bijpassende wijnen. De chef-kok verstaat duidelijk zijn vak en kookt met passie en aandacht. Erg jammer dat de gastvrouw totaal geen feeling heeft hoe ze met haar gasten om moet gaan en je direct al bij binnenkomst het gevoel geeft dat je niet welkom bent. Hoe goed de kwaliteit ook is van de de kookkunsten van de keukenbrigade, dit zorgt uiteindelijk er voor dat we niet meer terug komen en Faulk niet aanraden helaas.

Faulk, een kleinschalig idyllisch restaurant wat in mijn mening zich classificeert in de hogere culinaire top van de omgeving in het Gooi. De Chef laat zich via 2 menu's (optioneel vlees of vegetarisch) kennis maken met zijn unieke en diepe smakenpalet. De gerechten worden begeleid met bijzondere wijnen die normaliter niet vaak terug zijn te vinden bij restaurants in de buurt. De sommelier (vrouw van de chef) kan met veel kennis en passie vertellen over de druifsoorten en de ''pairing'' bij de gerechten. Het culinaire spektakel werd afgesloten door koffie en een huisgemaakte kaneel truffel op patissierniveau. Dit was mijn eerst kennismaking met Faulk, en ook zeker niet de laatste.

Gisteren kerstafhaal menu gehaald. Fantastisch menu en goede en leuke beschrijving erbij gehad.

Heerlijk gegeten en geweldige wijn erbij gedronken. We hebben een hele speciale familie avond gehad met bijzonder lekker eten.

Gewoonweg een heerlijke avond gehad waar er echt aandachtig voor je gezorgd werd. Het eten was heerlijk en met passie en aandacht bereid, dat proefde je echt terug in ieder gerecht.

Bijzonder plezierig restaurant. Ingetogen en smaakvolle inrichting. Mooi menu met zorgvuldig afgepaste composities van smaken, kleuren en texturen. Rijke en diverse wijnkaart met een tegenwoordig zeldzamer wordende klassieke basis. Bediening attent, heel vriendelijk en deskundig. Het geheel een aanrader! Het was een mooie avond.

Voor een tweede maal gegeten bij Faulk, heerlijk! Het menu bestaat uit verfijnde gerechten met veel smaak en een plezierige aanblik. Het vegetarische menu doet absoluut niet onder voor het menu met vlees en vis. De wijnkaart is zeer uitgebreid. Wij gaan hier zeker vaker eten. Ook heel fijn is dat het restaurant ruimte biedt om heerlijk ruim te zitten zonder "last" te hebben van de overige gasten. Een echte aanrader.

Wat een helden! We genieten altijd volop van hun gastvrijheid en gerechten. En toen het nog kon, van hun kratjes sterke drank. Hun afhaalmenu (ten tijde van Corona) is echt top geregeld!
