Had a delicious meal in the heart of Bussum. We had a 5-course surprise menu and it certainly lived up to its name. Nice, unique dishes. Good wine list and friendly service.

What a charming restaurant, and on a lovely little street. First time, but certainly not the last.

As a picky eater, choosing a menu that causes a lot of stress is quite a hurdle to overcome... But that hurdle wasn't there at all the entire evening. What delicious meals, taste explosions, and very good and tasty variety between the dishes. Friendly, efficient service, a chef whose love for his craft shines through, and a very driven hostess. Beautiful, atmospheric, and cozy restaurant. Definitely recommended!!

Beautiful restaurant in the nicest little street in Bussum. We had a delicious meal, the service was friendly, and the menu is extensive. The Dubai Tiramisu is delicious. The dishes are beautifully presented. We will definitely return to this restaurant.

A lovely restaurant run by a couple who have owned several other establishments in the Gooi region but have now settled here. The table layout is spacious. There is a fairly extensive menu, and the advice is to order 2-3 dishes. For such a concept, I honestly found the portions a bit on the large side. There are also a few proper main courses. The service was polite and the accompanying wines tasted delicious.

What a gem! I just had a delicious meal here. If you love good combinations, not a standard bite but really want to eat well, you have to eat here. Truly superb, plus very good service. Your coat is still taken the old-fashioned way and you get free welcome amuse-bouches. You really feel that a restaurant is being established here and not a commercial food factory.

After a friend recommended it, we ended up here for our 25th anniversary. It had a really cozy atmosphere, and as others have said, the acoustics were okay. We opted for the 4-course menu, plus a shared dessert. The dishes looked fantastic and tasted great. There were three ladies serving, and all were equally friendly and professional. And to finish, a beautifully presented dessert. We will definitely eat here again because there are even more delicious dishes on the menu.

Restaurant Therapy in Bussum is a place with a distinct character. The unique atmosphere is immediately noticeable upon entering: warm and a touch quirky. The beautiful art on the walls (presumably by various artists) contributes significantly to this experience, although it's a shame the staff couldn't tell us much about it. Nevertheless, the overall ambiance is perfect: everything is carefully coordinated, and the restaurant exudes a clear, conscious vision. The menu features small dishes (and a few larger ones) that pair well with the extensive wine list. Cocktails are also available, which is definitely a plus, although we didn't try them ourselves. The hummus and cracker amuse-bouche is a lovely way to start the evening. The kitchen demonstrates that they cook with care and love. We enjoyed dishes including chicken beignets with a sticky sesame glaze on butter beans, delicious beef tenderloin tataki, a refreshing poke bowl with wakame salad, Peking duck with fluffy steamed pancakes, a refined chanterelle dumpling, Iberico rib fingers with coconut and spring onion, and a flavorful rendang. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted excellent. It was noticeable, however, that the menu leans heavily on Eastern influences. This is clearly a deliberate choice, but personally, I would like to see more variety, for example, with the occasional French-inspired dish. However, this is limited. The young staff is friendly and genuinely engaged. The hostess is visibly passionate and eager to please. At times, she took her time with certain tables, even joining them for a while. For some, it was a pleasant experience, but for others, perhaps a little too informal. Restaurant Therapy could further enhance its online presence. The website is a bit dated, with lots of outdated, irrelevant information. And on Instagram, you often see the same faces and the familiar orange drink on the terrace, even in the middle of winter. With a bit more variety in its presentation, Restaurant Therapy could establish a much stronger online presence and appeal to a wider variety of guests. All in all, highly recommended for lovers of culinary delights, fine wines, and a restaurant with a unique atmosphere.

Highly recommended in Bussum! From the delicious starter (homemade hummus with sesame crackers) to the 5-course menu featuring salmon tartare, ravioli with Iberian and ricotta, dumplings with kimchi in curry, cod, venison with raspberry sauce, and the accompanying wine menu. Everything was equally excellent, and the lovely hostesses made for a fantastic evening.

It was very difficult to choose from so many delicious dishes on the menu! The four of us chose various dishes, including eel, scallops, veal loin, bisque, Peking duck, kopi aspinata, and beef tenderloin, and every single one of them was delicious and flavorful. The wines were good too, and the friendly service made it a fantastic evening! With so many tasty options on the menu, we will definitely be back!

The food was excellent, but the acoustics were terrible, and the kitchen's timing was also off. We ordered some oysters with our aperitif, and they didn't arrive for 40 minutes.

Op een mooie avond eind mei, fietsen we langs restaurant Therapy en worden enthousiast begroet door oude bekenden op het terras. We schuiven aan voor een drankje – dat we al gegeten hebben, is geen enkel probleem. Het wordt een gouden moment: fijn gezelschap, heerlijke wijnen, een spontaan nagerecht én uitstekende service. Wij komen zeker terug!

We had a wonderful meal last night! We had the 5-course menu and were pleasantly surprised! We thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be back! Oh, and the service (the two girls) was truly fantastic!

Walking up to the restaurant, it looked closed. Very dark inside, but turned out to be open. Still very dark inside. Part of the interior style, but a bit more light to actually see the dishes would’ve been welcome. Service Very attentive. Friendly waitresses. Concept/menu Small dishes with inviting titles. The food First, the positives: good wine list. The first course was okay. Though the dish names were more exciting than the dishes themselves. Not great: edamame beans in both the risotto and the taco. In the risotto, they felt mashed in. Didn’t fit at all. The foie gras had too many sweet elements. Unpleasant taste. The pumpkin crème had a lot of goat cheese. Totally overpowered it. Other flavours disappeared. Curry sauce had a strange peanut taste. Like a very diluted peanut soup. But the real disaster: the ribeye. Sauce unpleasant. And the piece of meat? Definitely not ribeye. Just an overcooked sirloin. After two dishes, we decided to skip the third. No dessert or coffee either. All in all, a restaurant trying to push a luxury concept. But the dishes just don’t quite work. Partly the quality of ingredients. Partly odd flavour combinations. That last bit can be personal, of course. But we were five people at the table… The real dealbreaker: being served sirloin and told it was ribeye. ---- Nederlands —- Lopend naar het restaurant, leek het gesloten. Erg donker van binnen, maar toch open. Ook binnen was het erg donker. Hoorde bij de inrichtingsstijl van het restaurant, maar iets meer verlichting om de gerechten te zien was wel welkom geweest. Bediening Heel attent. Aardige serveersters. Concept/menu Kleine gerechten met uitnodigende titels. Het eten Eerst de positieve punten: goede wijnkaart. De eerste gang ging wel. Alhoewel de titels spannender waren dan de gerechten zelf. Niet sterk: edamamebonen zowel in de risotto als in de taco. In de risotto leken ze er gewoon tussengeprakt. Paste totaal niet. De eendenlever had te veel zoete elementen. Onprettige smaak. In de pompoencrème zat veel geitenkaas. Overheerste volledig. Andere smaken vielen weg. Saus van de viscurry: aparte pindasmaak. Alsof er sterk verdunde pindasoep werd geserveerd. Maar echt een drama: de ribeye. Saus onprettig. En het geserveerde stuk vlees? Geen ribeye. Te ver doorgebakken sirloin. Na twee gerechten besloten om geen derde te nemen. Ook geen dessert of koffie. Al met al een restaurant dat een luxe concept probeert door te voeren. Maar de gerechten zijn het allemaal net niet. Ligt aan de kwaliteit van de verwerkte producten. En aan sommige aparte smaakcombinaties. Dat laatste blijft natuurlijk persoonlijk. Maar we zaten wel met vijf mensen aan tafel... De doorslag om hier niet meer terug te komen was m.n. de sirloin die aan ons werd verkocht als ribeye.

We had a wonderful meal tonight! The dishes were very tasty. It wasn't busy on a Wednesday evening, but there were definitely some other guests. A great experience!

Onze gastvrouw was naar eigen zeggen 16 jaar oud. Nog op school en nog niet zeker wat ze hierna gaat doen. We wensen haar het allerbeste toe maar wat deze jongedame ook gaat doen dat zal een succes zijn. Want we gunnen elke organisatie deze topper. Als je op die leeftijd van A tot Z gastheerschap in je vingers hebt, alles met flair en oprechte interesse kunt vertellen, oprecht geïnteresseerd zijn in je gasten en dan ook nog kennis hebt van alle gerechten en wijnen, dan ben je gewoon uniek. Wat een verademing in hospitality. Heel, heel veel mensen in de horeca kunnen nog veel van haar leren. Chapeau! Verder was het team keurig bij binnenkomst, jassen aannemen. Direct brood en water op tafel en erna eigenlijk allemaal perfecte gerechten. Goede wijnen en de sfeer was gemoedelijk. Inrichting is keurig, niet te sjiek maar juist erg prettig. Wij komen snel terug! Top tent dit. Alleen maar complimenten.

What a fantastic restaurant! We were completely surprised by the delicious dishes. Really divine. For people who, like me, are not good at making choices (there is really too much delicious food on the menu) there is the choice stress menu. Well, no more stress. And as a reward, five delicious taste sensations. The service is also good, as is the atmosphere, nice and relaxed and not too stiff, which we unfortunately often encounter in restaurants of this level. We will definitely come back here!

Delicious food! We had the stress free menu and all dishes were top notch. A bit small, after 5 courses we certainly still had room for dessert. The only downside we found was that it was not particularly atmospheric. (and the name of the restaurant is a bit cringe too)

Superb experience in this restaurant with a calm and sober atmosphere. Attentive service, I appreciated the friendliness of the staff. Excellent quality cuisine. I recommend the crab bisque, duck liver and French toast.

Te over priced, hele kleine gerechtjes en ook de kwaliteit viel echt tegen. Het is wel oké, maar niet fantastisch en dan wel duur

Heerlijk gegeten! Voor vegetariërs ook zeer aan te bevelen. Zeer verassende, smaakvolle gerechten. Mooie wijnkaart en hele fijne bediening!

We chose the 5 dishes menu. Vegetarian and non vegetarian. It was really very tasty. Prepared with care and beautifully varied. A very extensive wine list, with a large part of the range available by the glass. Therapy is highly recommended with an excellent price-quality ratio.

Vorige week ons 50 jarig huwelijksfeest hier mogen vieren! Het was geweldig georganiseerd, feestelijke aankleding van het restaurant. We aten zeer verschillende gerechtjes en ze waren allemaal even lekker! Ook de bediening was top, vriendelijk en zeer bekwaam! Kortom restaurant Therapy is een aanrader! Gezellig, modern ingericht restaurant met een ongedwongen sfeer en heerlijk eten! We hebben het vijf gangen “keuze stress” menu gekozen en waren aangenaam verrast. Erg smaakvol, goede smaak combinaties en unieke gerechten. Goede uitleg door de medewerkers. Zeker een aanrader!

Prachtige zaak, mooie inrichting. Gezellige gerant en gastvrouw met kennis van wijn en spijs. Gerechten w.m.b heerlijk op smaak, zoet, zout, zuur alles in balans. Slakken in kruidensaus met wat paddestoeltjes in een tuille van naan, eendenlever met brioche en ahornsiroop, de bom!!. Lamsrack met munt, langoustine met soto, linzen. Sticky toffee en crèpe Suzette geflambeerd aan tafel (!). Complimenten, ook over de factuur. Prijs en prestatie prima. Alle waar naar z'n geld. Neem de tijd voor een avond hier eten, het is het dik waard.

Gisteravond voor de 2e keer hier heerlijk gegeten. Wat een fantastische gerechten hebben ze op de kaart staan. En op aanraden van Mirjam ieder gerecht met bijpassende wijn.

Ik heb meerdere keren hier gegeten en dit is zeker een aanrader. Zeker ook voor mensen, zoals ik die beperkt zijn in wat ze lusten. Het gebeurd mij niet vaak dat ik bij elke gang alles lust. Zo ook groenten. Maar bij restaurant Therapy dus wel.

Mooie wijnen en heerlijke gerechten. Bediening is vriendelijk en prettig. Wij hebben de 5 gangen gedaan en waren stuk voor stuk mooie en heerlijke gerechten. Porties exact goed, niet te veel maar gewoon genoeg. Als je lekker avondvullend gezellig uit wil, goed eten en een lekker wijn erbij is Restaurant Therapy de juiste plek.

Last night I spent dinner there with my inlaws and we chose the 5 course option. The ladies from service were very caring, asked frequently for drink top-up, also took the time for a little wine tasting. What I admired the most: they managed to serve us eight always at the same time. The food was very delicious, though the portion seemed to be quite small, after the whole dinner it was obvious they were the right size. Also the fish quality was top. Moreover the ambience was nice and clean, the only point I have is sitting a high table on a high chair was a bit uncomfortable for such a long time. Apart from that, it was very loud so normal conversation was a challenge. However, I would recommend this place, despite the high prices.

Al een aantal keer gegeten en omdat we elke keer zo enthousiast zijn gevraagd of ze ook een verjaardagslunch wilden verzorgen. We hebben hier een heerlijke private lunch gehad voor 14 personen en dat was super geslaagd! Heel intiem en goed verzorgd.

Al meerdere keren hier gegeten en het eten is altijd goed van smaak, met verrassende combinaties. Wij hadden het 5 gangen verrassingsmenu met bijpassend wijnarrangement en dat was perfect op elkaar afgestemd. Zeer fijne, gezellige en gastvrije bediening. We zijn hier gisteren voor het eerst wezen eten (hoezo nu pas?). Wat een mooie en fijne plek! De ambiance is goed, misschien tikkeltje aan de donkere kant maar dat vonden wij niet storend. De gerechtjes waren bijzonder smaakvol en werden mooi opgediend en wat ons betreft ook goede porties. Wij hadden uiteindelijk 3 gerechtjes per persoon en een kaasplankje gedeeld. Een ruime keuze aan goede en bijzondere wijnen en desgevraagd ook zeer kundig wijnadvies van een jongedame met de mogelijkheid tot proeven bij twijfel. Sowieso was het personeel heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam en met oog voor detail (glazen water/wijn bijschenken, direct bestek wisselen toen er een mes op de grond viel, op tijd kaart aanreiken voor de volgende keuze etc). Dank voor de mooie avond. Wij komen hier zeker terug!

Het beste restaurant waar ik sinds tijden heb gegeten. Tegen Michelin ★ aan! Perfecte bediening en beste chef-kok die bij de beste zaken heeft gewerkt, heel gast vrij en voelde mij helemaal welkom. Hartstikke lief en mega persoonlijke aandacht! Drukke gezellige sfeer!!!

Gezellig restaurant. Zeer goed eten. Bediening was top. Muziek was niet storend. We vonden het iets te donker waardoor de menu kaart moeilijker te lezen was.

Geweldig concept met unieke kaart

Food is good but service was bad. Had to wait 2 hours to be served 3 consecutive small dishes. I asked the waitress twice on what’s the hold, first time she said kitchen is busy, second time she said that this normal waiting time between dishes because it is luxurious dinning. I am not really happy with the answer on both occasions because it was Tuesday and not busy and I have been to Michelin luxury dinning and you don’t get to decide for me the waiting time between dishes. Also the seats are not that comfy after hours sitting down.
