I had a fantastic meal here, truly excellent service! When I forgot my bag, they even sent it to me for free. Now that's what I call real service. A huge thank you to the lovely man, and especially to Serpil for going the extra mile. Highly recommended!

Fred Brasserie is a fantastic spot on Fred. All the food looks delicious, and it is! My personal favorites are the vegan sandwich and the Caesar salad—highly recommended! The elderflower drink is also my favorite. Besides the delicious food and drinks, the atmosphere is cozy and the staff very friendly. In the summer, it's lovely to sit outside, but luckily there's more than enough space inside for the Dutch weather. Everything is just as it should be, and even better! I'll definitely be back!

Unfortunately, I can't say too much. On Saturday, August 30th, around 2:00 PM, we waited 25 minutes for service. No one showed up. We went to the neighbor's around the corner. So maybe we'll come back someday. But I don't think so.

I had one of the worst dining experiences here. I ordered a Caesar salad and found not only a grey, slimy, foul-smelling boiled egg in my food, but also a hard piece of gristle/bone in the chicken that nearly cracked my tooth. This is absolutely not something you should expect in a Caesar salad — it’s a basic dish, and both issues are unacceptable. When I pointed it out to the waitress, she took my meal away without offering to replace it. Instead of apologizing or making it right, she told me I “don’t treat her okay” — which is an absurd and unprofessional response. I was still made to pay for the meal even though I could not eat it. Poor food quality, no care for customer safety, and zero willingness to fix a clear mistake. I left hungry, frustrated, and feeling disrespected. Definitely not returning and would not recommend.

Based on photos and reviews, we chose Fred Brasserie for our post civil wedding with our witnesses, on a Tuesday. To be honest, I was quite disappointed with the dishes. Everything was very plain, the dishes were basic and there was nothing creative - unlike what I would expect from the menu explanation. There was only one person catering to the whole cafe (she was very nice), but because of that, things were missed… we received 5 plates and 6th was forgotten. Similar with the drinks. It is important to mention that we booked way in advance so that our ensemble wouldn’t be unexpected, as we were a “high” number of people. Regarding space, the cafe is very cute and aesthetically pleasing. Honestly, it was a very happy day and didn’t care much. But after some careful thought, I decided I had to reflect this experience in my review. I don’t even have photos os the food because the looks were really disappointing… I think this place could use some improvement.

We thought we’d get great looking and complex dishes based on the other photos, but after waiting a really long time, we got perhaps the saddest two dishes I’ve seen in a long time. The Apple pie was good though, so I gave an extra star.

It was clearly too much. Too little service both on the floor and in the kitchen. Service that was there was friendly. But they couldn't handle it. They indicated that the waiting time would be max 20 minutes for lunch. After 40 minutes and no interim update lunch was cancelled. Then we got a story about too little staff etc., then they should not have accepted any more customers/orders. Furthermore it was very noisy. Decor is atmospheric. I wouldn't go here again.

Booked a High Tea for a birthday. It was a really great experience! Ser and her team had prepared everything down to the last detail and all the guests were full of praise. They had never experienced such a High Tea with chicken burgers, bagels, quiche, prosecco and many sweets. Ser, thank you for your hospitality and an unforgettable afternoon! A must for anyone who has something to celebrate!

I celebrated my 75 birthday with a high tea for my dearest friends. The hostess/owner made a classy, warm and festive atmosphere, where you felt you were in your own living room. The food was first class and everyone enjoyed the different specialties. I highly recommend celebrating any special occasion at Brasserie De Fred. Thank you again for a job well-done.

We tried their Philly Steak and one of their Egg Benedicts. Both are very disappointing. The sheared meat they served as a stake was really overcooked and burned. Definitely not a 4,7 place as the reviews are scaling to.

What a great thing. You can still count here. To honest and delicious food with old-fashioned good service. I had the pancakes myself. Super tasty. My guest ate Charlie's ball. Honestly? You won't eat a meatball like that anywhere. In short, highly recommended. I will definitely go again.

You can now find it here almost every weekend! Beautiful place, good food and friendly service (and chefs!). I am a creature of habit and take the same thing every time, and it remains delicious. My husband tries everything on the menu and so far every dish has been a treat! The lady at the counter with the dreads is super friendly and hospitable. The place is nice. However I was really surprised that they sell a regular sized 'fresh orange juice' for 6 euros, but it's obviously mixed with 50% water. When I went inside to ask they if they actually have orange juice without water mixed, they told me they get it from a supplier and that they don't think it's mixed with water but that the pulp is filtered out. But that's is not the problem, pulp filtered out doesn't make the fresh orange juice taste like water. I can assure you that it is mixed with water. They shouldn't sell it for that prices as fresh orange juice and then tell you it's 100% orange juice. They were decent enough to remove it from the bill for me. Their food is decent, depending on what you choose. The poached eggs with salmon is very small compared to other similar places for this same dish. The Hollandaise sauce was medium in taste as well. The facts that msot reviews here mention the food is great doesn't mean it always is. I review this honestly as it is in my opinion. Their chicken sandwich however was a really fair portion though. All in all bit disappointed in the quality. It's not bad but definitely not worth 5 stars. Specially not when the owner is trying to tell me I'm wrong for having some point on what can be better.

Excellent breakfast platter. And also the Caesar salad is great. Only issue. Chicken has some sugar sauce in it. So not ideal personally. Avoid sugar like the plague 😁 Must go for the nice service and great fresh food. One of the only places where avocado was properly fresh!! All day breakfast place. With a lot of nice lunch options as well. And also, you will not get pork here. So safe from that perspective as well. Though a lot of beef but they are happy to replace with chicken. We have kept coming here as often as we can. And still love it ! Friendly people. Great service. And food quality remains very very high! Keep it up !! 💜💜

Really delicious food! Super nice terrace where you can enjoy people watching. Quiet street and not a lot of noise around you. The focaccia chicken & the eggs Benedict royal are definitely recommended. In any case, I will recommend this place whether you want lunch, brunch, a glass of wine or a coffee...

Excellent brunch spot in The Hague! Today we ate here for the second time and it was again very good. I think i can say one of the best pancakes i have ever eaten. We loved this little street side terrace brasserie. Food was great (we particularly liked the Chicken Caesar salad and the waffles choices) and the staff team very friendly and welcoming and flexible. Definitely recommend it.

We had a wonderful lunch at Brasserie Fred. In the middle of a shopping street, you won't be bothered by this at all. Friendly staff, a beautiful (affordable) menu. Highly recommended, we enjoyed it. If we go to The Hague again, we will plan it so that we can have lunch here again.

Brasserie has the best coffee. There are many options for vegetarians. The price and quality ratio is top. The service is excellent. Highly recommended if you want to have a nice lunch on the terrace.

Nadat ik vorige maand hier heb mogen genieten van een zeer uitgebreid en luxe ontbijt, echt fantastisch, heb ik mijn twee tantes meegenomen voor het high tea arrangement. Wat een verwennerij ! De tafel was in stijl gedekt, tot en met prachtige rozen. Alles was vers, tongstrelende sensaties van hartig en zoet. Het was bijna zonde om van de prachtige étagère te gaan eten. Het verse fruit en hier en daar een fijn bloemetje ter garnering, maakte het feest compleet. Natuurlijk ook complimenten voor het zeer vriendelijke personeel, die een heerlijke, relaxte sfeer weten te creëeren. Dit moet je beleven, echt een aanrader.

In a word, bad The American filet sandwich was so terribly hard. Filet American also not really tasty, not even a lettuce leaf. The only thing that was tasty was the glass of fresh orange juice. Definitely not a second time for us.

Delicious food at Brasserie Fred! Lunch is always delicious, but recently you can also have dinner here (until 8 p.m.). We chose the buttermilk chicken burger and the angus burger. Both very tasty! We will definitely come back.

Great breakfast/brunch spot with a good menu and good food. The decor and atmosphere are great , really nice vibe for a coffee with a cozy yet trendy aesthetic. The staff and owner were really friendly. Overall a great place to relax with good food. We were a small group, the staff were quite attentive and we felt very comfortable in the space. After previously enjoying a delicious lunch at Brasserie Fred with amazing Pancakes for Life and a super delicious Philly Cheese Steak, we now wanted to try the evening menu. The choice is also varied in the evening. A delicious zucchini soup, a rich salad, a delicious steak and super tender chicken gyros! But the success is not just about the fresh and tasty food. What a beautiful tent, what a nice atmosphere and what hospitality! We will definitely come back!

I met up with a friend after work. They were open till 8 so only served small, but amazing dishes. Our eyes were hungrier than our stomaches because we were full after ordering 6 of them. We shared fries, a burger, a dish of labnah with grilled vegetables, yakitori chicken, buratta and tomato salad and falafel. Because we were tired after work we didn't want an alcoholic drink. I had a yuzu soda I loved, and my friend had a mocktail. Will definitely be back here.

Fortunately, Brasserie Fred will be open from May 1, 2024 until 8:00 PM, so it is no longer only open for breakfast and lunch or just for a cup of coffee and a drink, but also for dinner. We enjoyed the delicious steak with pepper sauce, fries and salad, just as we always enjoy the delicious crispy chicken burger with homemade coleslaw, the eggs Benedict with salmon. The terrace is wonderful in the sun with a perfect glass of rose, Cheers!!!!!!!! Serpil and her team are only concerned with making you happy, you immediately feel welcome, you are served quickly and they are always alert to signals from the guests. A wonderful place on the Fred to enjoy the hospitality and quality of the food at the Fred. Always fresh and prepared a la minute.

Last Wednesday we decided to have dinner here with friends, and what a pleasant evening we had! The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive. The rosé was delicious and paired well with the meals we ordered. The food itself was also excellent. In short, this place is definitely recommended for anyone looking for a fun evening out with good (no-nonsense) food with a good price-quality ratio. We will definitely come back!

Tja, wat kan ik zeggen. In ons geval is een ster echt nog te veel. Op aanraden van een vriendin wilden we hier komen lunchen. Ik kan niet anders zeggen dan dat het er gezellig uit ziet daar. De jonge dame in de bediening kwam ook snel de bestelling opnemen waarna de koffie en thee snel bij ons op tafel stonden. De overige gasten werden voor hun gelukkig ook snel geholpen. En toen sloeg bij mij de verbazing toe, de overige gasten kregen wel hun lunch. Helaas voor ons moeten onze broodjes nog steeds komen. Dus helaas voor ons en ook voor jullie hebben we moeten lunchen bij jullie buren. Hoop overigens voor jullie dat dit niet te vaak voor gaat komen, want wij komen niet meer. Succes in de toekomst

Well, what can I say. In our case, one star is still too much. We wanted to have lunch here on the recommendation of a friend. All I can say is that it looks nice there. The young lady serving quickly came to take our order, after which the coffee and tea were quickly on our table. Fortunately, the other guests were also helped quickly. And then I was surprised, the other guests did get their lunch. Unfortunately for us, our sandwiches are still yet to arrive. So unfortunately for us and also for you, we had to have lunch with your neighbors. By the way, I hope this doesn't happen too often for you, because we won't be coming anymore. Best coffee in The Hague! And the menu is excellent too. I have been coming here every day since I retired. And since I've been trying to be healthy, my regular lunch is home-made granola with yogurt and fresh fruit, a wonderful ritual with the newspapers. Super nice place and lovely people, I feel at home and welcome!
