Walter Benedict in Wijk 28 Centrum

We had a delicious lunch here. Eggs Benedict and steak tartare. The dishes looked great and were delicious. The service was very friendly. The only downside was the acoustics. We could barely hear each other in a packed restaurant.

I have to say that the food and drinks were not up to the price. The beet smoothie had more water than ingredients and didn't taste of ginger or chili. The matcha tea, on the other hand, was not balanced, too bitter and I love matcha, They put too much of it on it. The royal toast seemed too poor for the price!! 10 euros each circle of bread for a slice of salmon and an egg, too much! Considering that is caviar substitut.. the price isn't right. The hollandaise sauce was poorly made and acidic. And the avocado toast was just plain. The waitress on the patio was really friendly and attentive, though, very good service :)

Both the food and the service were impeccable. Clams were banging, highly recommend these! I wiped my plate clean with the bread to eat every last drop of the sauce. Best clams I’ve had to date. The apple crumble with whipped cream for dessert was also good but the clams were the star of the show. Edit: I have come back a year later for these clams (last photo). The sauce is now more buttery but its essence still remains. Very comforting 🙂.

The food was pleasant but not particularly special. I wouldn't rush back, although it certainly wasn't a disappointment.

Loved this restaurant for lunch today! We sat in the garden, which had a lovely peaceful atmosphere. Our meals were both delicious, well presented and nicely-sized portions. Loved the beet, chilli and ginger juice as well. Service was faultless. Looking forward to coming here again!

Lunch with 6 work colleagues, reservation, service and food all great. Gets very busy so recommend either booking or getting there early. Small but nice garden area to the back.

I found the hollandaise sauce too citrusy. After four or five scrambles, the eggs became sickly. Plus, the price is absurd for the quantity offered...

The breakfast was awesome! The scrambled eggs were delicious, the coffee tasted great, and the place has a really nice vibe. Definitely worth a visit.

Very cosy bar. The waiters were especially attentive - a trait that is not often found these days. We had two rounds of whiskey sour, amaretto sour, Moskau mule and bitterballen. All excellent!

Wir sind vor dem reservierten Termin angekommen, da Plätze frei waren hatten wir die Wahl draussen im Innenhof oder im Restaurantbereich. Wir haben uns für den idyllischen Aussenbereich entschieden und wurden prompt bedient. Das Frühstück selber sowie der Kaffee und Saft waren hervorragend. Alles ging mit einer zauberhaften Herzlichkeit im Service. Sehr gerne wieder! Danke wir haben uns Wohl gefühlt und es war ein toller Start für einen Trip durch den Haag.

it was already a favorite for me for Breakfast. their egg benedict with salmon is amazing..... but to ignt we wanted to keep it light and just went for appetizers. THEY WERE amazing!! we had courgette hearts and asparagus, their egg were both little masterpieces both to see as well as the taste combinations. will come again soon!

This is a great place for breakfast. We went there with kids and they seated us in the back garden area and provided baby chair. The service was good, but since were in the back area, maybe less attentive. The food was amazing! We ordered eggs benedict, ham and cheese croissant and scrambled eggs. Each of them were extremely tasty with a special mention to the eggs benedict, absolutely scrumptious.

Ik hoop voor Walter Benedict dat het een eenmalige misser was, maar we moesten voor een zakelijke lunch van 3 lauwe vissoep, een rauwe burger en twee vluchtig in elkaar gemaakte Ceasar Salades en zes Cola € 120,- afrekenen. Daarnaast moesten we er veel, veel, veeeeeel te lang op wachten. Ik hoop voor de andere gasten dat de chèf 'a day off'had, maar mij zien ze niet meer terug.

Croque monsieur was worst ever! I'm used to the French ones... they are delicious! This was a thick sandwich with a little cheese and ham and barely fried.. without a tomato or green leaf

The place is beautifully decorated, with a charming little terrace filled with lush plants and a lovely atmosphere. The staff were absolutely delightful—so friendly and welcoming. They were very accommodating, even though we came without a reservation. The salmon eggs Benedict were to die for—perfectly cooked with a light, flavorful hollandaise which added a delicate touch, bringing a real lightness to the dish. And the cherry on top? The pancakes. I haven’t had pancakes this good in a long time—fluffy, delicious, and simply unforgettable. Highly recommended if you’re in The Hague!

Really good brunch place. Food is good and the staff is really welcoming. The backyard is really enjoyable when weather is good. Will definitely come back next time I Come in The Hague.

Our first time at Walter Benedict. But what a wonderful atmosphere. Dear all. And both thoroughly enjoyed the delicious Egg Benedict. We will come back soon when the weather is nice to sit in the garden.

Service was attentive. Actually too few non-meat and non-alcoholic options for 2025. In the starters (pointed cabbage, steak tartare) and main courses (cod, celeriac, kohlrabi) the salty taste predominated, so unfortunately you didn't taste much else. Portions were just too big. Dessert was very tasty (rhubarb tarte tatin).

Really nice and cozy restaurant to go to for lunch, especially on a sunny day. There’s space out front on the street side, there’s tables inside and a nice cute garden out back to feel the openness. The lunch options is a nice variety with some really tasteful dishes. I had the Egg Benedict which was a pleasant treat. I’m happy the portion was also satisfying so I could feel pleased with my choice. The cauliflower soup was surprisingly good as well. Did not know what to expect but it was really delicious. Walter Benedict is a really nice place with a relaxed and cozy atmosphere. The interior is stylish and warm, making you immediately feel at ease. The prices for cocktails are reasonable, especially considering the quality you get in return. The service was fast and professional, without feeling rushed or impersonal. I didn't eat there myself, so I can't say anything about the food, but everything looked good and the menu offers plenty of choice. As far as I'm concerned, this is an ideal place to have a drink in a nice setting.

Ordered soldier egg and truffle: I was shocked how they presented it. Given fork and knife, so Im thinking that’s how we were supposed to eat - if we dont specifically asked for spoon. Also some egg shells pieces when eating the egg, because it’s not opened smoothly. I think the only plus point is that they make half boiled eggs nicely.

Yesterday we had lunch for two. Avocado toast and Caesar salad. Toast was great and it looked very good on all the neighboring tables. The Cesar salad was frankly disappointing for 18 euros. The ingredients were all there, but bland, not enough dressing, anchovies were on the bottom of the plate. Service was very good and friendly. Ambience good

A favorite in town. Warm and comfortable interior. Consistent quality food, drinks and good service. To name 1 dish: I tried many, many Caesar salads all around and Walter Benedicts is #1. Well dressed lettuce, crispy homemade croutons, succulent and well seasoned skin-on chicken, fresh finely grated parmesan cheese, crunchy bacon, well balanced dressing with the perfect amount of anchovies.

I stopped by Escher in the Palace and went there to eat, but it was full when I went during lunch time. I already like it from here haha. After waiting a bit, I ate a hamburger, fries, and an open sandwich(?) with mackerel on top. Since I like seafood, I was very full and it was delicious. The portion was a lot bigger than I expected and the price wasn't bad. All the waiters were friendly, so it was a pleasant lunch time!

If you are in the Hague, and you need brunch, you have to go there. I dare to say that their eggs Benedict are simply one of a kind. And the pancakes we got, I'm sorry but I drooled a little bit. I will go there again when I am come back to the Hague.

“Culinary treat at Walter Benedict” Last Sunday we enjoyed an extraordinary dinner at 'Walter Benedict' in The Hague. From the first dish to the last bite, everything was taken care of down to the last detail - a combination of refined flavors, excellent preparation and attentive service. We started with fresh oysters, a beautiful start that immediately set the tone. The shared starters were impressive: the ray wing & halibut ballotine was perfectly balanced and delicious for autumn & winter, while the sweetness of the langoustine & crispy sweetbreads offered a combination of tender and crispy textures. As a main course we shared a 900g pre-sliced ​​Côte de Boeuf, perfectly prepared with a beautifully grilled crust and a juicy, full flavor. Definitely recommended for lovers of quality meat. Dessert was a true finale: a refined mille-feuille with Meyer lemon cream, Italian meringue, white chocolate and caramelized pecan nuts. A beautiful balance between fresh, sweet and crunchy. Walter Benedict is without a doubt a place we would like to return to. An absolute must for lovers of a refined, but casual culinary experience!

The food was very average, so dark that you couldn't read anything on the menu. But the worst thing is that they ask you for a deposit when booking online, which means that when you come there, they give you back this amount, only it is below the jrej. So generally you already pay a certain amount up front. This is very unfair. I absolutely do not recommend this place!!

Egg Benedict was very sub-par and too much sauce than egg and some kind of rusk. If they had given us the card first, we might have had a choice. Stay or go!!!!! There was no flavor in the too much sauce. There were no vegetables and no Advocado like at Hotel New York in Rotterdam. Plus a nice A location and a lot cheaper. They make a Killer Egg Benedict, as long as they deliver it on time. And most expensive: 2x Egg B and 2 mini drinks for 45 Euro 😳. If the amount of food and drinks was still a good amount and tasty, I would not have written this review Highly inadvisable if you want to keep some money in your wallet. But if you're willing to spend your money on low quality, then go for it. The price tag was also not on the table as standard, I wonder why?🤨.

We came there for the egg benedict but that was a disappointment. The egg was not on a bun but on a rusk and it was very dry food. Quite little taste. The sauce took up three quarters of the plate and egg was really small. Sauce was not tasty in my opinion. And there were no vegetables in sight. We spent over 45 euros for 2 x egg benedict, a lipton and a regular coffee. We also indicated that we found this a disappointment: quite dry, no taste and why on rusk? Compared to other restaurants that serve egg benedict, we think the price-quality for this food is not good. The staff was very nice and friendly.

It was very busy, but a spot was made available at the bar and after a while we were moved to a table. We were regularly asked if we wanted anything else. All in all, fantastic service! Mega tasty food and good coffee! This was really great

W🤩W, we were able to get a table here on the last day of the year 2024 and that made us so happy. As soon as we entered we were assigned a high table, which we always found to be a bit more cozy. The service (especially the lady who is soon going on a world trip is great) is super friendly and thinks along with you. The place was packed, but we never felt like we had to wait long for a minute. All dishes (we ate no fewer than 3) were all DELICIOUS. All in all a very nice start to our New Year's Eve; this requires a repeat visit next year.

Op de laatste dag een tafel geboekt bij Walter Benedict en dat was maar goed ook. De hele zaak zat stampvol; wij kregen een hoge tafel waar wij altijd heel blij van worden. Zeer attente en meedenkende bediening, met name de dame die binnenkort op wereldreis gaat; zij is echt een topper. Wij hebben echt heerlijk gegeten, alle gangen was niets op aan te merken. Dit is dan ook zeker een herhalingsbezoekje waard.

The woman in the bar was rude. When we got there, she told us everything inside was reserved and wouldn’t be available until late, if we decided to sit outside and it rained, she couldn’t guarantee we’d be able to move inside. The point is, we decided to sit outside, and in the two hours we were there, no one ever showed up inside. The food is good, we got eggs Florentine, eggs Benedict, blueberry pancakes, croque madame, the bietwnsap and wortelsap yummy, koffie verkeerd and americano Our waiter was nice.
