IM writing this review about 2 years after I went to Amsterdam and I used to smoke a lot and went to a lot of different coffee shops on this trip and I have to say this coffee shop was by far my favourite. I might just remember to this date like if I was gonna go back. I would spend a lot more time in this coffee shop? Unfortunately, we discovered it on the very last day so only had a few smoked there, but if I was to ever go back, I'll smoke that every single day and I was just thinking, you know what I never left a review so there is thank you guys

Great cafe with good coffee and tea selection, the fresh ginger tea is great! Very friendly staff with good recommendations. Indoor seating nice for a smoke and sip =)

Beautiful place and kind and courteous guys!!! But I was really disappointed by the smoke and weed!!! One after another, the best in their opinion (Ice-o-lator)... 3 days, 200 euros spent looking for that effect that I never found!!!... for goodness sake... good flavors but I expected much, much better!!!

I bought two types of hash at The Rookies. Both were disappointing. The Kashmir hash was basically just cheaper Moroccan hash labeled as “exclusive Kashmir hash,” so I basically paid almost €15 per gram for something that’s worth around €8 per gram. The PBC Double Dry was straight-up garbage—very little hash oil and mostly plant material. I went back to complain, but they refused to exchange it for another strain or hash. I told them I would leave a negative review, so here it is.

If you’re a tourist, be aware: this is mostly a tourist trap. Prices are very high, but the quality doesn’t match. You’re better off looking for another coffeeshop. Some strains are particularly disappointing in quality.

We are French and we highly recommend this coffee shop! The server was very patient, as our English is not perfect. He was very attentive and was able to give us very accurate advice. An excellent experience, we will be happy to come back!

London tourists Had some space cake which was tasty Friendly knowledgable attentive staff Good ambience and music Clean toilets We are not smokers so being in a confined area with smoke wasn’t great so something for people to bear in mind. We’ve decided to not return to eat- in but rather to get a takeaway from here next time.

I really like this cafe. Super friendly staff. Good music, not too loud. I've been coming here for years. But today, despite the tobacco ban, there were too many tobacco smokers around for me. After 20 minutes, you smell like an ashtray and can hardly breathe easily. What a shame! Really hard to get a few points. That's why I only give it three out of my usual five stars.

The waiters were quite rude. They didn't let you use a lighter and made you buy one or ask other customers. But the worst part was that I asked to charge my phone, and they made me download an app to use some portable chargers they had, for which they also charged you (spoiler: very expensive). The stools were quite uncomfortable... all in all, there are thousands of better coffee shops in Amsterdam, I wouldn't go back to this one.

Amazing vibes, the lighting inside is great and so cozy. Great service and selection, and the bathrooms are really clean. We had an amazing time and will absolutely be back!

A large coffee shop that is both deep and wide - very spacious feeling. Has a good selection of strains of both main varieties and hybrids. The staff is friendly and service-minded. Was here at 5pm on a Friday, reasonably crowded and pleasant noise level. Has a lovely cocoa next door which works well for the munch feeling. The coffee shop is recommended.

Good coffeeshop, good weed, my wife said i was here, but i don't remember it. But that just tells you that the weed was good. So yeah i recommend this coffeeshop. Must try to come back so i can remember beeing there 🤣

Yes the centre you pay the price tag once you explore with the stress removed you can find alternatives but rookies hits the spot where home is at present. This was one of my favourite coffeeshops. Really nice inside and friendly staff. Great selection on offer. We came back a few times during our week in Amsterdam.

Loved the acid jazzy lounge music and great vibes. Warm wood tones and soft modern lighting, leather covered curvy banquets and padded low stool seating is cozy. Air quality and staff were great!!

Rookies has a soft spot in my heart as my first ever COFFEESHOP 6 years ago or so and we keep going back when we visit because the staff is super friendly and helpful. They have great music, menus and the atmosphere gives super nostalgic global village coffeehouse vibes. Plus , it’s wheelchair accessible. Rookies is always a treat.

We didn't feel welcome. I was expecting the bar staff to recommend something, but unfortunately that didn't happen. We were very polite and pointed out that it was our first time in a coffee shop and if they could recommend something. It was like: Can you roll? No? So that's all we have and good luck. The weed we got was good, so I won't give it just one star.

I can’t say enough good things about Rookies. We came in for a mellow night—split a lemon space cake, smoked a pre-roll, and enjoyed the effects of the mushrooms we had taken earlier. We would’ve stayed longer, but the bar closes at 1 a.m., so we made our way out. Just a few steps out the door, my boyfriend suddenly collapsed—his head dropped under his neck and he went straight to the ground. It was terrifying, I wondered if he’d had a seizure, if he was dead… I had maybe two seconds to process what was happening before the staff were already there. The bar had just closed, but a team of employees materialized with water, sugar tablets, a trash bag in case he vomited, chairs, clear directions to the bathroom, and seasoned paramedical advice. When he became conscious, my boyfriend was scared and disoriented, and thought the men were attacking him. They spoke to him in gentle French and stayed close, making sure he didn’t try to get up too quickly. I was so embarrassed—we were tourists who’d overdone it—but not once was there a flash of frustration, annoyance or anything. They monitored him, reassured us, and waited until he was steady again, even though the bar was closed. If you’re in Amsterdam and want a cool and also safe place, Rookies is a really great one. Best staff ever. Thank you guys.

Great coffeeshop. Flower and hash were really good, especially the Parvati Cream and Forbidden Fruit. Staff were very attentive and great table service. Good play list too, proper chill vibe just how it should be. I visited every day on my trip last week. Went to a few other coffeeshops but kept going back to Rookies.

Been to Amsterdam 3 times and this is by far my favourite spot, menu is great, prices are fair, all servers are extremely friendly and the only coffee shop I’ve been in with table service, never felt pressured to buy drinks constantly in order to keep your place. Great vibe and top tier place to relax and enjoy a smoke, will be returning 100%.

Its a really chill place to smoke. Big windows, nice interior, good ventilation. The staff is super friendly and the product is fun and strong :) Its also in a nice neighborhood so walking around after is fun. Of all the coffeshops in Amsterdam this is my favorite

Underrated gem! I stayed nearby in January and Rookies had was a regular hangout most days. This place has amazing decor, furniture, art, dim lighting and great music playing and it’s all very clean so it’s easy to get comfortable. The drinks, service, staff, smokes were all tops like really no complaints. How am I the first review to this place?

Great place, Super friendly and knowledgeable staff! Spent a lot of time here and recommend to anyone who prefers a quieter and more chilled environment. Very well ventilated and the hot chocolate is the best I've had! Everything is really reasonably priced too. Also lots of menu choices and great quality products.

Came in here on a whim and was annoyed I didn’t come sooner! Really chill place with lots of seating and drink options, and I liked the fact it was more like a regular coffee shop :)

I was sitting at a table and a guy propped open a door to let all the cold in. I went to close the door to not let the cold in. The guy standing at the front yelled at me and told me I do not have permission to close the door (apparently he works there although was not working at the time and wears no rookies sweatshirt). He then proceeded to put his hand on me and told me the door would not be shut. I asked if he was joking and he said no. He then proceeded to put his hand on me and I asked him not to touch me and he did not have my consent. He then cussed in my face and then told me to sit down and he would close the door. I went to ask for his name at the check out counter, as I thought his behavior very aggressive, and that’s when they informed me that he actually does work here. No one would apologize to me for the outside behavior or reaction until I said I was going to do a review. Do not bother spending your money here- there are plenty of other coffee shops that will not verbally harass you or put their hands on you.

Nice place. The biscotti mintz was very nice, we went back a second time for more. Definitely the best weed of our trip and we tried 6 strains in total. Generally friendly place. But loses a star for the crazy trip hop/rock genre of music they were blasting out. Thank the lord I hadn't eaten some truffles before I visited it would have truly twisted my brain. But would definitely recommend and visit again 👌
