What a disappointing experience. I ordered fries and snacks for 16 people for a birthday party. Upon returning home, several snacks were missing; the croquettes were soft and some had deflated. There was no satay sauce left, but no refund was given. It's clear the employee has no connection to the business and isn't suited for the hospitality industry (some items were already packaged, while others still needed to be greased). I see a lot of bad reviews here and responses from the company asking to contact me by email. I'm not going to bother. If the owners would check in more often, they could probably spot the necessary improvements themselves.

Portuguese gentleman who works there doesn't understand why people don't eat meat. Talk about religion while baking. And people who blow themselves up. Tent has always been fun. Been coming here for 2.5 years.

The fries were okay, tasty, but very greasy. Because of that, we couldn't finish a small portion per person. It was handy that you could grab the sauces. What was really disappointing was how dirty the tables outside were, covered in crumbs and grease stains. If I had seen that before ordering, I would have left.

Unfortunately, it used to be very good. Now I'm quite disappointed. I ordered a cone of "frites oorlog" (war fries) for €4.70. The fries themselves are no longer long, thick, full potatoes, but short, small, and crumbly ones. The peanut sauce is bland, and the large onion pieces are simply picked up with bare hands, really unhygienic. Too bad. The staff is too busy on the phone. The terrace is super nice in the sun, and you can choose any sauce you like.

What a poor copy of a snack bar this has become. We already have little on the menu, but we have only finished half of it. Staff is rude, continues to watch videos on their phone while the order was placed via the screen (which only takes longer to order) a few minutes ago. All tables inside and outside are dirty, the floor is sticky, cleaning is no longer possible. Do everyone a favor and close this place or replace it with a good old-fashioned snack bar, I will certainly never come here again.

What a ballpark this has become. In the beginning when frites affairs came it was really great and fun, good and friendly staff. Now there is a different one every weekend and the quality of the food has also gone down considerably. Yesterday I wanted to get a chicken satay fries, but chicken satay was not available because then he would have had to prepare it from the freezer. Therefore he did not bother to do this. It was 6 o'clock, around dinner time and the chicken satay fries or beef stew were not available for the reason mentioned above. I was allowed to choose something else and so I had a normal fries and a croquette. The milkshake I got was literally soft ice cream in a cup. Could not possibly get it through the straw..... Then when I got home I wanted to eat the fries and they were still raw, as if they had been in the frying fat for 1 minute. You were really gnawing on a potato instead of enjoying it. Then the following, a few weeks ago I was there too and wanted 2 milkshakes, but that was not possible because the machine is broken. Emailed the Amstelveen branch twice, but no response because I still get 7 euros back from you. Hopefully there will be improvement but for the time being we will not go there anymore.

What can truly ruin an experience at a restaurant is the attitude of the staff. It's disheartening when employees seem apathetic and show no interest in engaging with customers. It often feels like they're just going through the motions, as if they're being forced to be there, which really detracts from the overall experience.

Place your order via a screen, after which the employee with the phone in his hand throws the fries in the fat and gives you the food without saying a word. No receipt/paper comes out of the machine where you enter the order and pay, very inconvenient. What is nice here is that you can get your own sauce.

Stop serving snacks before closing time. I had to ask for salt on the fries because the gentleman didn't feel like making an effort. Only starts making an order when the person comes to pick it up. Lousy service.

Great place, fast and easy to order. You can have unlimited sauces on your fries- you just need to top it up yourself. Truffle Mayo and peanut butter satte mayo are great. Second one is a bit spicy but I love it. Good for kids as well 😊

The nuggets were revolting and looked green, felt like rubber and tasted like cardboard. The burger was just about edible. Mum says chips were ok. It was €50 all together. Overall the best part was the bottled water.

It's amazing that you can ruin something as tasty as fries or fries. The stew tasted very chemically. Just like the sandwiches. Service was also poor.

The man running the store is very friendly, and he takes the time to serve the food with a good presentation. The food is very tasty, I look forward to visit the place again. There's only one minor thing, not a big deal but the wooden forks are very small. Given that the food is so good, having a full size fork will definitely help the experience 😂 But again, this is just a very minor thing.

Horrible! I asked my husband to bring fries with satay sauce. What I got when he came home, the palest limp lukewarm fries with cold/lukewarm satay sauce in such a weak container, there was less than a tablespoon of quantity in it. You really don't have to go here, what a disappointment!

Portion of fries with unlimited sauces 4.95. Fries aren't anything special, neither are sauces. 6 different mayos of which only the normal one can be eaten, the nasty Gouda's glory curry and ketchup. Satay sauce is possible, but it is not included in the unlimited sauce selection (why not?). And again a shame, someone behind the counter who only speaks English. You don't have to make a detour for the fries, atmosphere and sauces.

Fries are fine, I would also have liked a veggie burger with it. But the employee couldn't tell me anything about the ingredients. So I didn't order this due to allergies. Missed opportunity.

Ordered one cone of fries and 2 beef croquettes today. The owner asked if I wanted a drink, but I didn't. Finally he listed: 2 fries and 2 beef croquettes. I corrected him and said 1x fries. Then paid by card (without checking the amount). When the food was ready, the tray contained 2 cone fries and 2 croquettes. I said I only wanted 1 fries and asked if I hadn't paid too much. He denied that and said that the system showed 1 pepsi. To avoid making things difficult, I added the Pepsi. While eating, the croquettes turned out to be veal croquettes instead of beef croquettes. Not our preference, but we accepted this. After eating I neatly returned the tray to the counter. While there were no other customers, the owner was talking to a young employee. He looked at me for a moment and continued talking. A thank you or "see you later" seemed a bit more customer friendly to me. At home I checked how much I had paid, just to be sure. €14 had been debited. I don't know exactly what triggered it, but it was certainly more than I ordered/received.

Ridiculously expensive for the kind of small fries you get at McDonalds. You used to be able to get those big fries here. Not anymore. Hard skip this, overpriced food with a logo stuck on it to sell it for 3x the price. Employee behind the counter cannot speak Dutch in the city center of Amstelveen. Really a shame, the previous place here was better. The price: 3/10 Quality of food: 4/10 Portions: The "small portion" isn't really super small, so that was reasonable, 7/10 Atmosphere: 5/10 Hygiene: 8/10 Can be exchanged with literally any other chip shop without worrying about it. A shame about the beautiful terrace. Ultimately, I would give this a 5.4. You only get sauce if you pay a euro more under the excuse that you get unlimited. If it weren't I might give it 3 stars.

Today I went to Frites Affairs for the 2nd time for a Loaded Fries Chicken Satay. 1st visit was great, today was a big disappointment. The last time for me. Too bad to see that the quality is not kept high. The satay sauce was rancid and judging by its thickness, it had been sitting all day and was also served as if you were standing in line in the school canteen, the prawn crackers were not fresh and crispy. Not what you expect from a fries jeweler.

Are you in such a place with a nice concept menu content? Nice? If the execution is not good, everything is worthless. I'm just hungry and just want a burger, fries and a drink. Your system doesn't work, I can't order, your staff doesn't understand it, it's all frustration, not worth it for a simple burger with some fries, that's a shame.

First it looks nice from the outside, then you walk inside and the first disappointment are the 2 ordered devices THAT YOU CANNOT USE, BECAUSE none of the things you want are called "out of stock" bruh! While it WAS in stock! Then the font of the devices, bruh, you want people to be able to make choices SIMPLY AND QUICKLY, or am I being rude? Then you have to order in English from the employee who doesn't even understand English himself, but oh well! And then you indicate 100 times that you want a menu with cheese on the burgers, you don't get any cheese... and then the menu says 8.95, but with drinks it becomes 9, then just put 9 and then we know what we have to pay. . Doesn't Febo put MENU 8 euros and then you have to pay 10 euros?? Please stop doing business or connect with me and I will teach you what entrepreneurship means.

I was really looking forward to fries today, really hungry. I walked into the shop in good spirits, on my way to my fries. To then find out that this place that actually only sells fries had no fries at all... very disappointed.

Fries were okay, but this chip shop doesn't exactly have the friendliest employee. The mayonnaise was also very disappointing, it tasted of nothing. Shame.

The food tastes perfect and the price is not expensive. I went with my friends and ordered 3 cones and we got 1 extra. Highly recommended.

Good fries for a fair price, what really surprises me is that they have a sauce station where you can choose as many sauces as you like, this means you never run out of sauce and can try many different flavours, I really like this system. Definitely check them out and try some of the crazy sauces like mango or avocado mayo.

According to the information online, it is open until 7:00 PM, but when I arrived at 6:30 PM I could only order 'take-away'. Shame.

Today I had a conference meeting in Amstelveen, I didn't expect there was delicious food, something like chicken satay, and another one was beef, it was really tasty, I never tried this before, the chef there suggested us to try these items. Different staff every week. Personnel often do not speak Dutch, which means that the order does not go through properly. Too bad it started very strong but is now sprinting backwards.

The gentleman behind the cash register doesn't feel like helping us when we are the only customers. He is calling in his own language, the place is dirty, there is a lot of rubbish such as used napkins, etc. He does not want to bring the food and calls from the kitchen that the food is ready. Closes the kitchen door to finish the call. Really too bizarre for words.

Employee is seriously on the phone for 10 minutes and barely understands English. Not Dutch at all. Outrageous service. Never coming here again.

Delicious food but a bit uncomfortable to sit in

I went to grab a portion of fries and milkshake. The fries were made right with a wide choice of sauces. I asked for a small portion, but it was sufficient for me. Ordered Strawberry milkshake. The serving portion was appropriate, and the taste was nice (though a bit more sweet than my liking).

Excellent fries, friendly service, clean and a wide choice of sauces (unlimited) for 85 cents. The terrace overlooks the Amstelveen city center. Nice place to sit and have a nice meal.

At first the place comes across as a nice place with a menu that revolves around good fries. The unlimited sauce is also a nice concept. Unfortunately, I did not experience quite what I expected at a chip shop. Just before 6 am I came in and tried to order on the machine next to the cash register. After trying several times it didn't seem to work, which the person next to me also noticed. A few minutes later it was possible to order from an employee (or branch manager?). While waiting, I noticed that the fries served by other customers did not look like the advertised photo. On the contrary, apparently the fries are not cut by hand, but come from a freezer bag from Albert Heijn. The doors were also closed while I was still inside and the tent was supposed to be open until 7 p.m. Several customers came by, but stood in front of a closed door. The reason turned out to be that it had to be refilled first. You could order fries, but the doors remained closed. A remarkable experience that I wanted to share. In this case I might as well have gone to Albert Heijn instead of paying €3.70 for a small fries.

On Thursday, July 13, I visited the fries affair. The boy with the apron works super hard and was very customer friendly. I would hire in a heartbeat too!! I will definitely come back for this service

Ordered last Monday, July 3, our grandmother stayed for dinner. Ordered a family bag of fries, 1 beef hamburger + bacon and 2 chicken burgers. Plus peanut sauce. The beef hamburger was missing and so were the containers of satay sauce. Tried to contact us, but given the extremely long delivery time, this company was closed again. I left a voicemail asking for an urgent call back, heard nothing all week. Perhaps they will respond to this. Very bad to treat customers like this and a shame too, hiring better staff will help, because the food itself is quite ok. Naturally, I demand a suitable solution for this.

Frites Affairs does not take cash that might be easy for them but in the time I was there at least 2 people complained about that. You need to put your order in on a screen which might be hard for older people.

We ordered several meals. The food came slowly bit by bit. The burgers took 30 mins and were over cooked, tasteless and hard. The chicken nuggets were greasy. The only good thing was the fries. We won't be going back.

The fries are very tasty and it's great that you can have unlimited sauce. The mayo with truffle is highly recommended.

Fries good. But you're not very comfortable there. Because they are high stools and we old people would like to sit on a normal chair. So it is better for us to eat the delicious fries outside on the large square.

Excellent fries (some with skin) and there is a nice choice of sauces that you can get yourself. Frikandel special comes without a slot for the onions. It all takes a bit of time to make - it wasn't busy. There are some places to eat your food while sitting or standing. The service is worthless, the staff has zero experience, you can easily wait half an hour for a burger with some fries and pay the top price.

I was surprised by the quality and how tasty the fries and burger were. Definitely a dark horse sitting on the street and worth a visit. The limited sauce topping for 0.75 euros made the fries very enjoyable to finish.

I passed by this place many times, but yesterday I finally found the opportunity to visit this place. The atmosphere really tells you that it is all about the love for fries here. It is clean and there is a nice sphere. I ordered the normal size fries with sauce which will cost you 4,25. Not really cheap but for that price you got yourself a decent portion of fries. So it’s not too bad. The fries look very nice. Golden color and very natural since they leave the skin on. Fries are quite crunchy and hot, but what surprises me the most was the very rich, creamy taste. Very pleasant. And there is a choice of 9 sauces which you can get yourself from the sauce bar. Overall I would say a nice experience and I will come back for sure.

Potjandrie: what a great chip shop this is. Walked by by chance and everything looked very inviting. Beautiful design, beautiful presentation, everything was perfect. And then ordered fries. The only 'mistake' was that I ordered regular fries. That's a whole bucket full! But tasty! Insanely delicious. Much better than friesboutique, fries from Zuyd, etc. And then the sauces. For 75 cents you can choose from an unlimited number of 9 sauces. (The vegan seaweed is highly recommended). In short: addictive. It's even worth a drive to the City Heart.

My mother is a big fan of the satay sauce. Unfortunately I don't come to Amstelveen very often, but if I'm in the area again I will definitely visit again!!

unfortunately none of the vegetables for burgers had been delivered so i settled for frittes. they were bountiful they only accept cards no cash.

We and colleagues regularly have the loaded fries for lunch. Those are really large portions and they give you plenty of topping. Tasty fries too.

Good hamburgers at a good price

First and immediately last time! Unfortunately the Friet factory was closed, so I tried this once. Arrived half an hour before closing, only fries were available because they were already cleaning. There was a very greasy air of fries in the shop and you couldn't sit on the terrace because the chairs were already secured with chains. Prices are high! Normal portion is small and expensive, large portion is comparatively a better deal for sharing. Asked for well done fries, first portion was too little, so had to wait a long time for a second one. As a bonus a few cheese soufflés, which was neat. But the fries themselves were nothing at all! Just undercooked on the inside, probably not properly pre-baked, or maybe not at all! If this was well done, the normally fried fries would be completely limp. There was no taste except too much salt, we couldn't taste whether the fries were fresh and our stomachs were not happy with them either! The Fresh potato that was there before had much better fries for normal prices and delicious Holtkamp croquettes! Too bad this has been exchanged for an over-priced place with undercooked fries. Next time Friet factory or just eat at home!
