The fries were absolutely awful. Soggy, undercooked, and not even close to crispy. The frikandel speciaal was okay. I won't be back.

The fries weren't even broken through, and the goulash was tasteless. Not recommended. I'll never come back here!

An ideal spot for your first drink in the evening. Located right on the bridge, it offers a beautiful view. Their fruit cocktails are rich in fruit. Recommended if there's room.

The food was unedible. First time in my life I had to leave food on the plate unfinished. And I am very much against food waste. We ordered fries which were bland and chewy, didn't taste like potatoes at all, but tasted like meat. The veggie loempia was tasteless, the dough was very oily and the veggies inside didn't have any flavour at all. Seasoning with salt and pepper didn't help. The ketchup for fries was very sour for some reason, and the mayo (even though we didn't order any, they brought us mayo) looked greyish. The drinks were okay, the stuff was fine also. But the food was not good at all. Such a waste of money.

It was a lovely place to sit, and the waitress was cheerful and polite. That's where it ends. We're not very picky about food, but we left a large portion untouched. The salmon tagliatelle came with a red sauce. The salmon had skin on and was bone dry. The sauce wasn't a good match for the salmon and wasn't tasty either. Another dish was a steak, which we asked how well-cooked it should be. It was medium, but it was cooked all the way through. The fries were already dried out. Nice place for a drink, but we won't be eating here again.

The food seemed simple and spartan, but unfortunately, it wasn't worth the price. The beautiful spot by the historic bridge overlooking the river was, unfortunately, somewhat neglected and littered. Note: Be prepared for restroom use, as there's a small room for men and women right next to the bar ;).

A €17 hamburger, dried out and served rock-hard, comes with fries no bigger than 3 cm (leftovers). Together with fried schnitzel, fries, and two soft drinks, €43. Do the math.

Really bad experience, customer service missed at all. We ask initially for the drinks and once it's were brought we wanted to order the food but the blond waiter said to us wait, because she got received a new table and cannot take our order. After it, waiting for some time, she come to take the order and when she brought it, she come without bringing any napkins or forks for food. When we asked for them, she asked us to go in the restaurant to take the napkins because she cannot bring them. Really bad services! Prices affordable but no customer care, neither the minimum required service. Hygiene level 0.

Scandalous. The waitress doesn't understand anything, there are 4 of us waiting for 1 hour and ten minutes and she only brings 2 dishes!!! She was wrong... there are wasps screaming and making the plate fall... One star only For the View. Go to the ones nearby

No idea what the food is like here, we didn't get that far. Away from misery. Most beautiful place to put your patio, but worse experience. Tables dirty and full of packaging. We were ignored by the staff, menu looked promising but quickly left here.

The waitress who met us on the evening of July 29th. served was impossible. We actually wanted to eat something, but after the drinks order was disastrously unfriendly, we decided to leave after the drinks. It's a shame that such unfriendly employees can quickly ruin your reputation.

Very polite staff. They spoke English and German as well. A good menue with lots of smoothie options. Fantastic balcony facing the river. I ordered a Strawberry and Raspberry smoothie which was not that cold and icy that I expected.

We have been visiting Friture for years. The food is good. But today we had to pay an additional charge of 4 euros per portion for special fries with 2 corquettes and 2 frikandels, i.e. only for mayonnaise, ketchup and onions. According to the menu, a sauce only costs 0.80 cents. This is usury and a rip-off. Even when asked, there was no insight. We won't be coming here again and can only recommend asking about the prices beforehand.

Nice place in the sun with a great view! The service on May 19, 2023 (waiter with glasses: great!!!!) was very friendly and attentive. Only the Aperol Spritz had far too much ice: This covered up the small, but rather expensive amount of drink in the glass.

1 star for the view. Staff absolutely overwhelmed and not good. Neither attentive nor polite. We had to share a glass until the end because the waiter “forgot” it the whole time. There was no sauce for the schnitzel either, not even after you asked for it. 👎🏼

Fries zoer vleisj that also contain real vleisj. They work hard and yet are very friendly.

If you really want to eat fries that taste like potatoes and are made in delicious frying fat, then this is the place for you. Another one of the few real Maastricht chip shops.

Nice place to relax right on the Meuse

Quaint snack bar not far from the train station and city center near the Maas Bridge. Delicious quick meals that are particularly popular with tourists. People like to sit outside in front of the shop window and enjoy the food. The fries and frikandel are particularly popular.

We ate steak here with homemade pepper sauce, it was delicious! Ordered a pastie de nata for dessert, which was freshly made. Never had such a tasty pie before. The service was knowledgeable, very friendly and fast. It's that I live far away otherwise I would definitely come back more often.

On Sunday, August 21, we came across this by chance in our search for a nice hot bite. Great that we ended up at this beautiful spot on the Maas. Delicious food at an affordable price. The service was great, friendly and helpful with adding an extra table. Recommended!

I did not expect much, but I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent fries (I am Belgian and know how good fries taste and how they should be fried) and tasty Jäger schnitzel. Is 17 Euro for the dish a steep charge? Maybe, but you also need to take into account that Maastricht is simply expensive. Service by the waitress was friendly with a smile. They obviously work hard and it is a family business.

A nice place to sit, but the quality of the food was downright poor. Salmon sandwich from €8.95. Then a day-old sandwich, some discolored lettuce, an unimaginative dressing and two small slices of salmon, which did not really look fresh, is not really recommended. We don't go there anymore

We had a drink and a snack outside on the terrace. It was busy but the service was great. It was a very nice spot against the Maas to have a drink in the sun.

I was there two days ago and everything seemed to be going well until I asked for the bill. Where I went to pay and it turns out that you couldn't pay by card. They did not warn anywhere visible, not even in English. They told me that if I wanted to pay by card I had to pay an additional €8 for the commission they charged them. So they made me go to a bank that was a 10-minute walk away. I left very upset and smelling like fried potatoes since the place stank of grease and you could tell they didn't change it.

Good service for valuable price

We cannot judge the food here, but the cocktails and the location are really great. We have regularly had cocktails in cocktail bars that were not nearly as tasty as here! Keep it up

It only gets one star because of its location, view over the river and relatively cheap prices. Everything else is a nightmare. We waited around half an hour to have 2 beers delivered, even after reminding the waitress several times. In addition to that, we tried ordering some fries and as that was even more waiting than for the beer we asked to have that cancelled. When we paid the waitress allegedly claimed that she was removing the fries from the bill and only gave me a receipt with the total amount. Typical tourist scam.Tipsy me without thinking twice, paid it. Total scam, avoid going at all costs !!!

Worst experience with staff. Language barrier exists but lack of common sense in treating guests. Not at all recommended, experience here completely killed the vibe of the place for me. Handwritten bills, with mistakes in total bill. Completely strange experience in Netherlands so far. The only plus is the view !

After the first Corona lockdown, we were happy to be able to go back to the neighboring country. Our path took us to Maastricht. ... and finally we can enjoy Dutch fries again. What joy that was! Golden yellow and with lots of mayo on it...

With the glass of wine we asked if we could get a jug of tap water. The answer; “Would you like ice cubes in it?” The wine was way too warm on this tropical day, but the water was free and the service fantastic.

Ordered a tuna salad sandwich on the terrace on Sunday, August 2. I got an open-cut sandwich with a mountain of lettuce on it and an amuse cup with tuna salad. This was not a tuna sandwich but a lettuce sandwich! I have also reported this inside. I hope they do something with it.

Tasty snack board and good service

Upon entering we noticed that there was a sour, old grease smell. Due to our intense hunger, we decided to order fries and didn't turn back, which turned out to be a big mistake. After waiting in the greasy air for 20 minutes, we weren't that hungry anymore. One fries was enough. The fries did not taste like fries but old grease. We threw everything away. Judging by the reviews, the food here is usually pretty good. Maybe the boss is on vacation and we just happened to be unlucky? Replace the grease and it will be better again :)!

Gyros ate was not good, no right solution and paying full price was very bad.

The menu looked promising BUT the service was slow, the fries were inedible and the frikandels were not well prepared: €28 for 2 portions of fries with sauce, 2 x 2 frikandels and two beers. A chip shop does not have to have the class of a restaurant, but still quality.

Became considerably more expensive. Cheaper options removed from menu. Smart, because good location. Too bad, because I'm going elsewhere.

worst place to get your fries in town... awful service with two young people talking about us in dutch (they thought we didn’t understand). the young blonde guy touched his hair THEN touched our fries with the dirty hands. when we asked about that, he didn’t see anything wrong with that, they obviously don’t hygiene here. beautiful view is the only thing positive about this place...

Great terasse! Food quality ok and service miserable. The young blond waiter guy taking care of the terasse came to take our order after 25min wait. He was quite rude, but we just decided to ignore him and enjoy the sun in the terasse. But when we asked for the bill, he just left and never came back So we decided to go inside to pay and they just told us to go back to sit. Then after 15min waiting for any sign of life from them, we went back inside where this waiter was talking with his colleagues, ask him the bill again and he answered us " don't you see I'm busy now ?". He finally just said an amount and refused to give a receipt because it's too much effort for him as he said "no I would have to put all the other bills in order and I don't have time. I think this guy should not work in the hospitality if he doesn't want to give at least a little effort. Very bad experience and don't recommend at all.

Real Maastricht traditional chip shop.

We had the WORST spare rips ever ... The waitress even recommended them. It was old and bad meat and even the fries were old ... The view is nice ... If u go there, just have a drink, but dont eat

What a fantastic place with a view over the Maas and the Sintservaas bridge. Where you can eat delicious food and enjoy a nice drink or beer. Very friendly staff despite being very busy. Best frituur in Maastricht if you ask me. They make the best zuurvlees. It is prepared fresh every other day. The fries are really great quality and I recommend this place over Reitz which I perceive as overrated. The staff is also friendly and very helpful.

Very few staff We had to wait almost an hour for our soup and if you say anything about it the boss gets angry and says that you have only been there for 10 minutes And when you get the soup, it is not clean cutlery either Definitely not recommended, we won't go there again

Excellent local fast food. I would say best in town!

If you order an ice tea green you will receive a nestea green. I don't want to send it back straight away without trying it. It really didn't taste good, but the owner doesn't seem to have an ear for it and you don't get anything else in its place. What a bad way to treat your customers! You really don't get lasting customers this way.

This cafeteria with large terrace is located in a beautiful location on the water. However, there were (far) too few staff for the many tables, which resulted in a young lady and gentleman running around, which created a chaotic situation. Big compliments to the staff, hard workers. But the boss should be ashamed!

After a long journey I end up on a nice terrace on the Maas. But what a disappointment that I can only pay in cash here. Really out of date these days. I could just let my coffee get cold and go look for an ATM on the other side of the Maas!

We sit directly on the Meuse and the bridge. The sun is shining, it's free here. Maastricht seems to have geared itself towards high level customers. This chip shop serves food for just over €10 per person. The food is of a good standard and if you don't want to eat next door at CINQ for a much more expensive (and upscale) meal, this is the place for you. The restaurateur is very friendly and you can ask questions. Basically very pleasant, a bit too expensive for me, but probably normal for Maastricht

SUPER; cozy warm delicious Best pickled meat and fries from the region (Bottle of cola/lots of majo/sour meat/large fries=6.5€ bargain in Maastricht city) And this review comes from a Belgian! You can sit at several locations, both indoors and outdoors. Toilet available. Large range. Recommended, I will definitely come back next time!!!!

It was really great😊 Prices were great, you were totally full and the nice Dutch lady was the icing on the cake, she was really lovely, spoke German and explained everything really well. Always go back when we're back!!

Price-performance ratio was ok. But Wiener Schnitzel was pork and not veal.
