What delicious food, but the delivery took so long! Because we ordered food for at least six people, it took almost two hours to arrive. But afterward, it was truly delicious! Absolutely recommended.

It's certainly a matter of taste—we had butter chicken and butter paneer—it was way too sweet for us, which isn't what we're used to, and there was cumin in the rice. Otherwise, it was fine.

The food was absolutely delicious, the service and atmosphere were excellent, and the staff were friendly...we're not from Haarlem, so we don't dare dine anywhere else anymore because the delicious food at Ghandi is simply unbeatable. We forgot to ask the name of the sauces we got as an appetizer with the papadums...they were super delicious and spicy.

Delicious food, we used to eat there regularly and were always treated kindly. Ordered online the last few times. For the price, you get a lot of food (two adults eat two dishes for four days). Delivered quickly or on time. Never had a cold meal. We are very satisfied.

We exchanced a voucher from wonderbox for 2 main dishes. The mango juice, mango lassi and all the food was freshly made. The owner warned us that the vindaloo was very hot (but healthy). It was delicious, authentic Indian food. Parking was easy and very close by in a parking garage.

The food was delicious, and the owner was friendly! I had the Onion Bahjee as a starter and the Lamb Jahlfrezi for the main course, with raita and mango juice. The lamb was truly amazing in texture and flavor, beyond my expectations! It took a while for the food to be prepared, but that's to be expected (we were a group of six). I will definitely be back.

Yes, you have to wait a bit longer for your food (if you are with good company that should not be a problem)... is that food worth the wait? More than! It is freshly prepared and it is a small restaurant where they do everything themselves. So that takes a bit more time. But that is what we want, isn't it? Good quality and good service, because they are absolutely incredibly friendly, have a heart for their business and for their food. You can make it as expensive as you want because the prices are very variable, from 14.50 to 25 euros per dish. That just depends on what you like and what you choose. But I did not find it expensive at all and just really, really insanely delicious... You really have to go here!

Craving for a real Indian meal and we found this restaurant,reserving a table was quick and convenient,service was flawless and “fun” and food is great authentic.

The food was delicious. Unfortunately, the fun quickly wore off when, upon paying, I discovered that, despite the restaurant being listed on the DinerCadeaukaart website and me having indicated my intention to use the DinerCadeaukaart when making my online reservation, I couldn't. I explained that I found this a rather unpleasant surprise. According to the owner, they hadn't accepted the DinerCadeaukaart for a long time, and it wasn't their fault that the restaurant was still listed on the website; it was all due to DinerCadeaukaart's reluctance. Too bad for us. After some back and forth, we finally paid the amount without the gift card. I didn't think this was a pleasant ending to a gifted meal.

I REALLY wouldn't rather eat Indian anywhere than at Gandhi's. A great family restaurant with delicious food. As a vegetarian I can enjoy maximum and there is always something I want. When you eat here you have to go with the mindset that you have to take the time. The dear woman who does the orders cannot run. But she is doing well and the food is always delicious. Eat here, take your time and enjoy!

Very special, reserved on March 17 via Fork with an offer and then were refused upon arrival on April 12, because other guests without an offer also wanted to eat. Never experienced such bad service, shame for Haarlem.

We had reserved a table for 6:30 PM. At 8 p.m. the main course finally arrived. We had to go to a concert so we ate our food within fifteen minutes. They really need to hire more staff, I had the impression that the woman who cooked also served, it wasn't until half past 8 that we saw a man serving. So if you really have the time, that's fine, but you still have to go somewhere then it's better to go somewhere else. The food was also fine

Had a very delicious meal at Gandhi's. The restaurant is typically decorated as you would expect from Oriental restaurants. It's not big, but that makes the atmosphere even homely. The owner is very friendly and always has the opportunity to have a chat. The flavors of the food are really delicious!!! The restaurant is easy to reach on foot from the center. There is even a parking garage across the road. There are still road works at the intersection near the restaurant, but that should be completed in January '25. The window says "best curry in Haarlem". That could be possible, but for that I also have to try the other Indian restaurants 😁 But definitely worth eating here👍

After ordering from here several times, I think I can now be clear enough about how incredibly unprofessional this place is. I really don't understand how this place has been running for so long. Let's start with what's going well here; namely that the butter chicken and saag paneer are the best I have ever eaten them. That's it. That's really the only thing they do right here. Then everything that really requires attention here: - First of all, you must assume that the delivery time (even at quiet times) must in any case be x2 compared to what is indicated. Does it say 45 minutes? Then it takes at least 1.5 hours. - if it takes a long time, you must always call to find out how long it will take, otherwise they will lose or forget your order. - the delivery person himself is usually the owner or a family member who was super offended that I had not noted my address correctly. However, he had made a mistake. Let me first say that making mistakes is human and can happen, but swearing at my door really makes no sense. - on top of that, the last time he almost gave me the wrong order. Fortunately, that went well at the last minute, but it did create an even grimmer atmosphere. - then about the food itself: it is very expensive, and with the exception of the aforementioned butter chicken and saag paneer, you don't have to try the rest. The mixed grill costs 25 euros 50 cents. And you get 2 not completely fried chicken legs and two marinated pieces of frikandel. And then two/three other pieces of meat. Which self-respecting business puts frikandel in a mixed grill? All in all: If you occasionally want to send your taste buds on a journey with a fantastic butter chicken, then go ahead! But ignore the rest. I gave it three chances, and all three times it was disappointing. I hope things will get better in the long run, but I'm pretty done with it.

Service was good. Owner takes the time for a chat and has a sense of humor. Food was tasty and sufficient. I used a deal concept. The terrace outside is small, but the restaurant is on a corner so there is a lot of entertainment (people watching). Due to a road closure, it is not very pleasant to sit there now. Hence 3* for the atmosphere. The coconut lassie is highly recommended!

Had made a reservation for today (Tuesday), but was faced with a closed door at 6:30 PM, while they should be open every day. I didn't receive an email or phone call about this, so that was a shame. We had to look for something else at the last minute.

We had dinner there last night and then went to the plant market. The fact that we could finally go there was already half gone. A crammed restaurant, tables mostly close together. We had made a reservation for 7 o'clock and finally got our starter at half past eight. The main menu at just before 11:30. Meat was good we had 4 different side dishes that looked the same (resembled olvarit) and tasted almost identical. The bill was also a shock for us, certainly never before

Na 15 minuten nog steeds geen drankje. Mensen die na ons binnenkwamen wel. 3x gevraagd of we konden bestellen, maar we moesten 3x “een momentje” hebben. We zijn weggegaan.

We waited 2 1/4 hours for the main course. Was it worth it? Unfortunately no. The Union Bhaji were finished and mushy. My Murgh Saag OK. The butter paneer is sweet. Apparently that's what they like in northern India. The basmati rice was the highlight, but definitely no reason to have to wait so long for the food. The owners should decide whether they want to serve guests in the restaurant or concentrate entirely on the take-away business. Neither works.

As true Brabant villagers, we were really surprised. A little hesitantly, we step inside and are received very friendly. The staff is very passionate, enthusiastic and very customer-friendly. After the explanation, we each order a delicious meal. One is spicier than the other, which gives us the necessary laugh stimuli. Freshly prepared with delicious herbs.

We had dinner at Gandhi's because we had received a restaurant voucher as a gift. After waiting 1.5 hours for our food, we finally had a tasty (but slightly too salty) meal, even though I am far from certain that they did not respect the request to leave out dairy products. Fortunately, there was plenty to read on the menu. However, during checkout we immediately regretted that we had not checked in advance whether they accepted the voucher, despite the fact that we had mentioned this on the reservation. When I showed the voucher with barcode, the owner informed me that they did not accept this voucher, only Tourist Vouchers and the Dinner Voucher. The company where we had specifically exchanged the voucher for a dinner at Gandhi (GiftForYou, available at all supermarkets, among others) allegedly put the name of their restaurant on the website without their permission. My friend who had received the card as a gift paid the bill to avoid causing any hassle, so we actually paid the same bill twice. I still had my doubts and said that I found it strange that a gift card for sale at Albert Heijn, for example, misuses their name. I was told that more companies do this and that they have tried to call them all without success. The owner then opened a folder with redeemed vouchers and there I was surprised to see the same vouchers that I had been waving in his face on my phone for 10 minutes. Fortunately, the vouchers were accepted after all. An app was brought up that scanned the voucher (something that could have been tried earlier) and accepted it. Before I could get my money back, I had to email the voucher, which took 5 minutes because they had poor reception and the owner also took another 5 minutes to place a description under the refund. In total it took me 30 minutes to pay because the owner did not seem to recognize the voucher. Fortunately, we came to a solution together. Recommended if you have no plans after dinner, have iron patience, are not lactose intolerant and stay alert when paying.

Bad service, small portions, employee was constantly gaping at us, very expensive. We left hungry, spent a lot (€92 for very little food) and were not asked if everything was to our liking. We don't recommend it to anyone :(

We ordered at home. Surprised again by the freshness of the food. Delicious too! Order via their own website. It arrived 15 minutes before appointment, hot... and we don't live around the corner.

ordered 2 servings of chicken tandoori at 6:32pm, and only got served at 7:38pm. we asked about the progress of our dish 50mins in, and was told that it is made fresh thus the wait. but to be seated at a place for an hour with no tap water provided, and no warning that it will take this long is frustrating. other patrons also look annoyed by the long wait for their food -- the place is not packed.

Het eten is goed maar helaas het duurt zolang voordat het op tafel kwam, het voorgerecht kwam na anderhalf uur (!)..het hoofdgerecht na drie kwartier dus na ruim 2 uren wachten konden we beginnen en dan heb ik het nog niets eens over het nagerecht. We zaten zowat tegen sluitingstijd 22:00 aan. Jammer dat het zo moest lopen, had wel de indruk dat take-away of bestelde maaltijden voor gaan op klanten in het restaurant. Zal niet meer teruggaan.

Wat hebben wij genoten het de verse mango sap het eten en niet te vergeten de na gerechten super lekker wij komen zeker terug!!!

We really eat a lot of Indian and this was one of the best (vegetarian) we had. We visited it with friends and even though we live a bit fortwehe away in Zandvoort we ordered there this weekend to pick up food. And the dishes had the same nice, rich taste. We live it. Anytime we pass Haarlem, this will be our preferred choice😀👍

Prima gegeten , prima service en een warm welkom. In dit familie restaurant kom ik al jaren en ook nu ik niet meer in Haarlem woon kom ik er weer naar terug!

Was er nog nooit geweest, maar wat een heerlijk eten. Wil niet zeker of hij beter of slechter als andere indiaanse restaurant is. Maar smaakt super lekker. En komen zeker snel weer terug. Vriendelijke bediening. En om even terug te komen op de vorige recenties. De sfeer is heerlijk, typisch indiaas zoals je het graag ziet. Je waant je echt in Mumbai. De ruimte in het restaurant is prima, je kunt beneden lekker zitten en boven zijn er ook een tafel of 12. Helemaal niet "te" dicht op elkaar. Precies goed, zoals je vaak ziet in dit soort restaurant. Ga je na een 5 sterren restaurant daar zit je buurman 2 meter bij je vandaan, maar dat is een anders soort restaurant. Hier is dat anders, en moet je ook niet om zeuren. Het is geen balzaal waar je zit. Dus de buurman zit op een normale afstand van jou. Wij konden ons ook niet herkennen in de vorige recenties dat het lang duurt. Alles wordt vers gemaakt en dat proef je. Daar wil ik graag 15 min voor wachten, want dat is de tijd dat het duurt tussen de ene gang en de andere. Al met al zijn wij 2 uur binnen geweest. Prima tijd voor een avondje eten. De prijs is prima. Wij hadden 3 hoofdgerechten en 2 voorgerechten. En een grote fles water voor 75 euro. Dat vonden wij een prima prijs. Wij willen dit authentieke indiaanse restaurant een dikke 10 geven. Mooie plek(Centrum Haarlem) Fantastisch eten Vriendelijke bediening Authentieke restaurant En bestaat al van af de jaren 80. Wat een beleving! We komen in 12 jaar tijd regelmatig bij Ghandi. De eigenaar voelt als een liefhebbende vader, een grapje op zijn tijd maar absoluut; heb je het naar je zin & is het eten naar wens? Verwacht geen high end aan interieur. Verwacht een smaaksensatie & huiselijkheid. Drink de Indiase wijn. Verwacht eens niets. En proef het eten & de unieke sfeer. En waardeer de passie van de eigenaar.

Heerlijk gegeten, goede porties, niet duur!

Gisteravond hier voor het eerst én voor het laatst gegeten. Wij moesten extreem lang wachten op het eten: ruim vijf kwartier. Afhalers krijgen voorrang. Na de eigenaar te hebben gemaand duurde het nóg twintig minuten. Toen onze maaltijd eindelijk werd opgediend, bleek de bestelde madrassoep te zijn vergeten. Dan maar alleen de hoofdgerechten. Droog kippen- en lamsvlees. Kleine porties (voor ons, één normale en één kleine eter, nipt genoeg). Bedroevend beetje saus voor ons beiden. Kortom: echt niet OK. Het prijsniveau ligt daarentegen op hetzelfde niveau als bij Indiase restaurants waar je wél behoorlijk eet: € 65,-- voor twee personen. De eigenaar had wel door dat ons misnoegen steeg. Hij vertelde bij het afrekenen spontaan waaróm wij "een beetje" langer hadden moeten wachten. Volgens hem staat het eten bij andere Indiase restaurants dágen te sudderen in warmhoudbakken. Wie daar bestelt, heeft dus binnen no time een bord met (naar zijn zeggen) opgewarmde oude meuk voor zijn neus. Bij restaurant Gandhi is alles daarentegen vers bereid. Vandaar de wachttijd. Dit vonden wij het dieptepunt: de concurrentie zwartmaken om te verhullen dat men de eigen logistiek niet op orde heeft. Foei!

We hebben eten besteld en thuis laten bezorgen, wat een zalig eten! Het eten werd bezorgd in Heemstede door een heel vriendelijke meneer. We hebben erg genoten , porties waren ruim voldoende en zeer smakelijk. We gaan hier zeker weer heen. !

Dit restaurant stond al jaren op mijn bucketlist. Ik heb bij heel veel Indiaanse restaurants gegeten. Dus heb best wat vergelijkingsmateriaal. De dame die ons hielp had een beetje moeite met de extra s die we wilden bovenop onze vouchers. Uiteindelijk goed gekomen. Voorgerechten waren heerlijk, madrassoeo uien beignets en samosas. Hoofdgerechten een aardappelgerecht was te zout, butterchicken te veel suiker, 1 hoofdgerecht met doperwten was wel prima. Raita was te waterig en ook te veel suiker. Service: dane lijkt onvriendelijk over te komen maar is dat vervolgens weer niet…en dan weer wel. Sfeer valt tegen qua gezelligheid. En neem je tijd als je hier eet zelfs als je een van de laatste gasten bent moet je heel lang wachten op een simpele drankje. Tenslotte eet hier zonder social deal voucher, prijstechnisch niet de moeite waard. Eten vraag of ze minder suiker en zout in het eten doen of wellicht weet de kok het verschil niet tussen een eetlepel en theelepel. En als je haast hebt geef dit aan tijdens het reserveren.

Erg lekker gegeten. Vriendelijk personeel. Goede service. Ik kom er graag weer.

Ordered Dal Tadka and Onion Kulcha with Aalo Paratha and it was nice in taste and delivered within 30mins. They maintained Indian authentic taste which is good. Recommended dishes:- Dal Tadka

Mijn vrouw en ik hebben gisteren weer heerlijk Indiaas gegeten bij deze familie restaurant. Met heel veel liefde de gerechten voorgeschoteld gekregen. Ik heb in tijden niet zo lekker gegeten als bij restaurant Gandhi, het eten was super, het personeel was heel vriendelijk, en nogmaals het eten was het beste wat ik in tijden heb gegeten. Ik kom hier zeker terug!

Prijs eten verhouding is waardeloos. Eten was ok op zijn best. Bezorging duurde bijna 2 uur. Waardeloos aangezien ze adverteren met binnen 30 minuten bezorgd en als je dan belt krijg je niet eens een excuses. Voor ons nooit meer...

Heerlijk, smaakvol en kwalitatief goed eten. Goed gekruid en ook het naambrood was vers en lekker. Zeker een aanrader. Hele lieve hostess. We hadden een speciaal verzoek of het eten op een specifiek tijdstip geserveerd kon worden ivm het breken vasten en zij hebben het keurig op tijd opgediend. Dank je wel Gandhi voor de mooie belevenis.

Heerlijk authentiek Indiaans eten. We hadden lekkere voorgerechtjes (lams samosa en uien bajee) en als hoofd butter chicken en butter paneer. Deze was heerlijk romig en goed op smaak met lekkere rijst erbij. De bediening is ook authentiek; lieve mensen. De oudere mevrouw hoeft niet naar de gym voor legday, zo vaak gaat ze het trapje op en af. We zouden hier weer gaan eten. Echt lekker!

Het restaurant ligt aan de rand van het centrum, vlak bij Carlton SquareHotel. Heerlijk menu gegeten, echt indiase smaken, indiase kok. Bediening was heel aardig.
