Portion sizes are small. Flavor is decent.

We ate at this Indian restaurant two days ago. Unfortunately, shortly after the meal, both of us became ill, which suggests a possible food poisoning. The overall hygiene did not seem optimal, and the dining area was quite cold, which affected our comfort during the meal. It is a shame, as the food had potential. We sincerely hope these points will be taken into account to improve the experience for future customers.

I understand it was busy but waiting over 40 minutes for my take-out order isn’t acceptable. And no apology when my order finally arrived? Also not acceptable.

We made a phone reservation one week in advance for Christmas Day, trusting this restaurant to handle one of the most important dinners of the year. When we arrived on time, they claimed there was no reservation for us. We were left without a table on Christmas evening, with no apology and no solution offered. This was incredibly disappointing and stressful. Poor organization and complete lack of responsibility. Our Christmas was ruined because of this experience. I will not be coming back and do not recommend this restaurant.

We had a delicious meal for a reasonable price. The service was quick, attentive, and friendly. A place to return to.

I was there last night with my father and my father's friend, we ate well, only the naan bread took a long time to arrive, but all in all a great, nice restaurant.

I'd never eaten Indian food before, a real surprise! The service was very attentive and unobtrusive, and the dishes were excellent, although the initial impact was quite strong, but after a few visits you get used to it.

Great food, great ambiance, but above all, great service, good advice, pleasant conversation, and a wonderful sense of humor from a lovely young lady who, unfortunately for this wonderful company, will not continue working here due to other ambitions.

My husband and I ate here a few days ago and it was delicious! Everyone was very kind and welcoming too. We liked it so much we came back again a couple nights later. We were just visiting the area so we would definitely return on future trips and highly recommend!

First the good. Nice place. Chicken as good as you will get anywhere. Then the bad.... Onion baajees were over cooked and dry. Either old oil, or too hot cooking temperature. Rice and naan bread completely forgotten. It was kings day ,but not overly busy. Frankly, for a simple order this was piss poor. The saving grace being that they adjusted the bill to reflect my disappointment.

I got the paneer balti and it was really good. My friend also enjoyed her dish very much. The environment is nice, well-kept and evocative, perfect for a quiet dinner. The staff is kind and attentive. Plus, there are lots of vegetarian options, which I really appreciated. Definitely the best Indian restaurant in Haarlem. We will be back for sure!

Really nice and delicious food!

What a nice restaurant! The food was excellent in this attractive location. We enjoyed the delicious spicy dishes with coriander 🌿 etc. The children also enjoyed themselves so our evening couldn't have been worse. A friendly lady in beautiful matching clothes completed the dinner.

Ordered takeaway close to closing on ubereats. Chicken Korma and Butter Chicken was fantastic. We also had the garlic naan with our own triple crème cheese from the store, which was awesome. Very friendly staff and a beautiful interior.

Being able to eat with the three of you in a very full restaurant without an appointment. I come there once a year when I'm in the area. You can always enjoy delicious vegetarian food. Due to the crowds we had to wait longer for the food, there is only one small point that they cannot do much about. A nice restaurant to visit again soon!

I have come here many times with my family. The food was always tasty and the service friendly. Ordering, on the other hand, was terrible... waiting a long time, forgetting things and not just once but several times (ordered 3 times always too late and always forgetting something, no compensation). But the one star is not for ordering, but for a time when I had dinner there with friends. I went there to eat, everything was tasty until I saw a piece of plastic in my moonbread cheese. I reported this immediately. And to my great surprise I got a big mouth in return. I made this up according to them and the plastic would have melted in the high oven so I wouldn't be able to find it if it was. The plastic will of course solidify again when it cools down, but they don't want to hear about that. I was actually told that I had made it up and that it was impossible, there was no such kind of plastic in the kitchen, they said. There was no friendliness to be seen and this was strange to see. Since I have come here more often with my parents and grandparents, but also with friends during corona times. It was pricey but I thought I would support them. They have lost a ropes customer and we will never come back here. It was the female servant who acted so rude and looked contemptuous. I work in the catering industry myself and if I were to react like this when something goes wrong I would be fired immediately. Tip on the other side there is also an Indian tent. The bread is tastier there and there is no plastic in it!

Fantastic restaurant, delicious food. The service is super friendly, usually done by a lovely woman. When she's there, my day is always brighter! The price is very reasonable and it is spectacular how some dishes are served: on a crackling and sizzling hot plate! The restaurant is owned by a family that runs it themselves. The food is always freshly prepared and very tasty. I have brought many friends and family members to eat here and they are always as enthusiastic as I am! Tip: their mango lassi is incredibly tasty.

Food is not good, we tried butter chicken, very water like gravy and flavor was not rich how it is supposed to be. If you would like to taste authentic Indian, this is not the place.

The good thing was that the atmosphere seemed nice and we were seated immediately without having to wait for a table because despite the Christmas market there were quite a few empty tables in this place. Unfortunately after placing an order we had to wait for over 1 hour and nobody informed us about a potential delay. Also, I ordered tap water but received mineral water instead which was also annoying because if I knew that I have to pay for it I would have ordered sparkling water instead. The main paneer curries were ok but the rice were not enough so we still had quite some sauce left and no rice and left hungry so still had to snack at home. Would not go back here again.

Lovely butter chicken, naan and nice mango lassi, staff was friendly and I really liked the ambience. Would recommend!

We were seated although being without reservation. Had some nice food and drinks. Unfortunately the grade of spice of the food was partly not transparent so had to switch some of the food between us. Besides to that it was a nice meal.

Tasty food but small portions. I was still hungry after I finished. Both dishes I ordered had very little meat (6-7 pieces).

Celebratory evening out for two families pretty much ruined. Waited 70 mins for starters (one was never delivered) and when asked learned that only one of the 8 main dishes started cooking, so after 90 mins we left the restaurant. Reason? Kitchen was busy with take-away orders! So customers with a reservation inside the restaurant were prioritised under take-away orders. We cancelled the mIns order but nail to the coffin were not offered any discounts on the starters or drinks we kept ordering to kill the time and fill empty stomachs waiting for our food. Extremely disappointing. I’ve been to India palace several times before and enjoyed the food, but will not be coming back and would advise to avoid the place on busy nights.

Title: Worst experience ever at Indian Palace in Haarlem I have never eaten as bad as at Indian Palace in Haarlem. Our experience started with a wait of over an hour and a half before we even got anything to eat. When our starter finally arrived (after asking again), it did not come at the same time but in 3 times. One had already finished and the other still had to get it. The service wasn't much better. Drinks were not brought at all and we had to ask three times if they wanted to serve them. In the end, after only having a starter, we left because they hadn't even started preparing the main course. The staff's excuse was that many orders had been received via Thuisbezorgd and that the kitchen was therefore busy. They claimed that they had stopped orders via Thuisbezorgd, but that the food would still not arrive anytime soon. To make matters worse, we received no form of compensation for this disastrous experience. We had to pay for the little bit we ate, which was almost nothing. This is absolutely the worst dining experience I have ever had. I'll never come back here again. Final verdict: One star, which is still too much for this tent. Avoid this restaurant if you want to have a nice evening out.

This wasn't their day. Service mediocre, it took 70 minutes to get the food and there was no communication in between about the long wait and whether we needed anything. Was already a choice because Taste of India was closed, unfortunately disappointing. In the end it was tasty, but portions are just barely enough.

Fantastic Indian food and great atmosphere.

What a delicious meal, but it took so long!! Especially the service surrounding it. The old man who works there has to stop, everyone wants it, only he stops it.

Not clean indoors and particularly unpalatable food. Expensive as well. To call this tandoor cooked food is an insult. Couldn't bear to eat it all as much of the meat tasted unhealthy - perhaps it had been frozen several times? Sorry for the harsh words, but find another place to eat in Haarlem.

After ordering we had to wait at least an hour for our order, which was then brought to our table without the naan. I kindly pointed this out to the waiter and he said he would bring it right away. After half an hour, when our food was almost gone, they came with the naan. Literally mustard after the meal... we were given the excuse that it was busy. Strange since I immediately brought it to the attention of the waiter and I see in the reviews that this is a recurring thing. The food was good, but the long wait and failure to complete the order spoiled the experience.

The food is very tasty at India Palace... But what good is it if it arrives 3 hours and 7 minutes LATER (!), 187 minutes, after the order, and cold... Ordered delicacies, see the screenshots posted with this review, at 5:56 PM... Screenshots from the home episode: 21:05. !!! ?? "Yes, sorry sir, it was very busy. And we returned the amount of the order." The point is that India Palace should simply indicate that they cannot deliver orders because they simply cannot deliver. A waste of an evening when I was hoping to enjoy a nice curry. Food is fine if the normal food is delivered on time and delivered hot, BUT the service surrounding it (delivery)... Big zero because YOU made me wait 3 hours and 7 minutes.

Ok food and pricing. Too bad timing wasn't very well regarding the time in between dishes and naan bread we had to ask again when we were already halfway our meal.

Delicious food, but how annoying is it when the whole experience is ruined by equally terribly bad service. Even if I wanted to order a drink I had to get up and walk to the bar as it was impossible to get the attention of the waiter. When we had already finished eating for more than 30 minutes and no one came to ask me if I wanted some coffee or something, I got up again to look for someone who could bring me the bill. When this took another 15 minutes, I walked to the bar with my jacket on to demand the bill. Pity. So they won't see me here again.

Tasty Indian food in a good ambiance

Good food, plenty of it too. Atmospheric. Just didn't have onion bhaji. Shame. I then ordered samosas and they were very tasty.

Zeker geen aanrader. Eten is redelijk, maar van enige organisatie in dit restaurant is geen sprake. Enorm lange wachttijden. Geen communicatie. Nog nooit zoiets meegemaakt. Er liepen mensen weg.

Je moet altijd al erg lang wachten op het eten. Het eten was vroeger oké, maar de laatste tijd erg waterig. De naan is klein en bevat amper kaas. Ik was vaste klant, maar na de laatste ervaring (ik moest 1,5 uur op mijn eten wachten en kreeg een onaardige reactie op mijn review) haak ik af. Heel erg jammer dat er zo slecht wordt gepland en gecommuniceerd.

Lovely place, relaxed atmosphere with very friendly staff. Slightly slower pace that I enjoy. Just drop in, order the big kingfisher and enjoy the rich Indian cuisine.

Great service, friendly waitresses, the food is exquisite and tastes very authentic. Can highly recommend eating here. Peshwari naans are the best I've ever had but all dishes are very good.

Klein portie, mixgrill waren 4 stukjes vlees, smaakte allemaal hetzelfde, 2 waren chickenwings, voorgerecht was al op, menu kon niet. Ambiance oubollig. Vond het niet best.

The food is always super tasty, but last time it was a bit cold in the restaurant and unfortunately we sat at a different table due to a double reservation.

Much too cold, that has been the case for more than a month. Shame. Shows little respect for the customer. Then place rugs on the floor and hand out blankets, after you inform your customer about this when booking. But no, you've literally been leaving your customers out in the cold for more than a month. Once but never again. It's great that the heating is now working again, but the fact remains that you left the customers in the cold for more than a month. We were a large group, three responded, not once was there a solution/offer to improve this cold experience.

An excellent restaurant in terms of food, service and atmosphere. But sitting still on a stone floor for about 1.5 hours without heating... We were freezing on December 8, 2023 after visiting the restaurant. And after complaints about the temperature, an electric heater was installed near us that did not provide any heat.

Price/quality very correct. Good food. Smooth and friendly service.

Prima restaurantje met wat ouderwetse inrichting en vriendelijk maar weinig personeel. Eten is redelijk standaard universeel Indiaas maar zeker wel lekker.

Ik kom er al jaren, altijd lekker eten en vriendelijke bediening. Helaas stond de verwarming uit en was het nogal frisjes binnen. Dat nodigde niet uit om nog langer te blijven zitten voor een dessert of kopje koffie.

De India Palace is een fantastisch restaurant met super lief en begaan personeel. Wij komen hier al bijna 20 jaar. Het eten is heel divers en topkwaliteit. Wij houden van de India Palace.

We really like the food so hesitate to write this but be prepared for really long delivery times even if you order from their website. It usually takes 1-1.5 hours. But this time it has been 2.5 hrs and we still haven't received our food. Update: we received the delivery after 2 hr 40 mins

Fabulous place in Haarlem. Nearly always has a table free. For me the best is that the staff are friendly, the menu is classic Indian/English curry, well prepared. Three tables are not cramped, and even when full you can still have a conversation with the people at your table.

100% authentic Indian taste. This is the place to go if you wanna try Indian food. They do make customizations like lactose free version of a desired disk, if possible. Price is reasonable and pretty good variety of dishes and drinks. Owners are north Indian and their spices/recipes are from north India. Highly recommended for dinner dates. Ask for recommendations / specialities from the staff. Parking spaces are limited in that area.

Absolutely scrumptious. The food offered the most perfect balance of heat and spice. Yes, we had to wait but it is absolutely worth it. I rarely write reviews but this food is so good it would be rude not to. The young woman serving is incredibly professional, thoughtful and courteous.

Besteld bij India Palace. Eten was heerlijk en warm, bezorger was van het restaurant zelf en was mijn cola vergeten bij de bestelling en is toen heen en weer gereden. Al met al een geweldige service en super smaakvol eten!

La comida es autentica Indú, esta bien ubicado el restaurante, no tiene terraza , es para comer dentro .

India is een groot land en de gerechten hebben vaak de zelfde namen maar als je het eet dan kan er toch een andere smaak naar boven komen. Dat komt doordat er net iets andere kruiden gebruikt worden. India Palace heeft een Punjab achtergrond. Als je ooit daar bent geweest en je hebt daar gerechten geproefd dan herken je direct dezelfde smaak. Voor mij is het de smaak dat alles in balans is.

This Euro trip I have been to few Indian Restaurants. India Place Zwolle is one place I reminisce having food at Delhi. It has a grande ambience and sitting area both open and closed. We ordered both veg and non-beg dishes and assorted breads. I was elated by the authentic taste of Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Paneer Masala. Keep up the good work Amit.

Heerlijk eten en vriendelijke bediening. Wilden een lassie proeven. Geen probleem. Uiteraard ook lassie besteld. Interieur is wat gedateerd, maar het lekkere eten maakt dat ruimschoots goed.

First time; last time. We have lived in Haarlem for more than 20 years and eaten in many of its marvelous restaurants. This is not one them. The staff is incompetent. We can’t comment on the food because we were never served. We waited for an hour and finally gave up, as did another couple. The service was sporadic with people being served in no particular order. The excuse offered by the waitress was that they had delivery orders to tend to. She also said that there was only one chef. The restaurant itself is dated and could stand to be refreshed. Anyone who reads this, please please please walk a few doors down on the same street to Taste of India, where the service is super fast and the food is great.

Good food but can take forever.

Ik ben vaker bij deze eet tent geweest met familie. En heb hier een paar keer besteld, dit nooit meer! Bij het bezorgen werden dingen vergeten en bij het bellen werd verteld dat dit bij de volgende bestelling gecompenseerd zou worden. Dit is nooit gebeurd! De druppel was echter toen ik met vrienden hier ging eten en plastic in mijn naan had gevonden. De bediening keek verwaand op en vertelde mij dat dit niet niet mogelijk was. Hierbij ging ze naar de keuken om nog even haar in te dekken dat dit soort plastic in de over zou smelten dus dan zou ik het nooit kunnen vinden… Mevrouw heeft dan niet goed opgelet dat wat smelt ook weer stolt. Ik tref eigenlijk ze nu op tripetvisor met een te hoge rating en heb al op elk ander platform een slechte review geschreven door mijn ervaring. Ik hoop van harte dat meer mensen er achter komen dat ze hier ook een slechte recensie kunnen schrijven!
