Last night we had dinner at Gastrobar 1910 and it was a wonderful experience. We chose the four-course shared dining menu and were served a good mix of starters, a delicious risotto, three types of beautifully prepared meat with fries, and a dessert of ice cream, strained yoghurt, fruit, and chocolate. Everything was delicious. The service was excellent. One staff member had everything under control and was very accommodating to our request for dishes without cheese. They also politely asked if we were ready for the next course. Very polite! Four courses were more than enough – three would have been fine – but we enjoyed everything.

We had a truly fantastic meal here! We opted for the shared four-course dinner, and everything was exquisite. Fantastic service and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere.

Wat een verrassing, deze prachtige plek in het hart van Almelo! Bij de Gastrobar Almelo hebben wij met een stel vrienden buitengewoon genoten van een avond vol verfijnde smaken en gastvrijheid. Elk gerecht was tot in de puntjes verzorgd en uiterst smaakvol. Extra bijzonder vonden wij dat een groot deel van de wijn afkomstig is van Château Camp del Saltre – een prachtige wijngaard in de regio Cahors, dat nota bene eigendom is van de eigenaar van de Gastrobar zelf. Dit persoonlijke stukje maakte de beleving compleet. De Gastrobar in Almelo is een aanrader van formaat. Wij komen zeker terug!

Wij wouden bij het betalen een diner cadeaubon inleveren, echter was dit in “het weekend” niet mogelijk, dus ook niet op vrijdag. Dit staat op de site van gastrobar 1910 niet beschreven, daarnaast staat dit ook niet vermeld bij de sticker op de deur. Bij navraag werd de fout deels toegekend, echter werd er geen enkele oplossing gezocht. Qua diner werd er niet gevraagd hoe het hoofdgerecht bereid zou moeten worden. Daarnaast is het dessert veel te prijzig. Kortom niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

We hebben met een hele groep gegeten! Het was fantastisch! Eindelijk een keer wat anders! Geen tapas maar ook geen grote maaltijden, heerlijke gerechten echt een aanrader. De wijn uit eigen wijngaard was TOP. Personeel heeft het door hoe het werkt. Ga zeker vaker.

Beautiful restaurant with beautiful interior and delicious food! The staff is friendly. We were here with our two kids, they had spare ribs and really liked them. We had a mixed grill, which tasted very good.

Super gegeten, verse producten, mooi vlees en super aardige en professionele bediening/ eigenaren. Wij komen zeker nog een keer terug.

Ate here tonight and absolutely everything was bad!!! The food was of very poor quality, the service was far below par. It is not without reason that there were only a few tables occupied even though the site said it was sold out. Never again for us!!!!

Op een rustige woensdagavond een geweldige "Oma's biefstuk" gegeten. Ontvangst en keuken prima! Zelfs de rustige woensdagavond kon dat niet verpesten. Ook de voorgerechten waren uitstekend!

Great atmosphere, beautiful restaurant. Nice service. We thought it was a shame that there was only 1 bowl of fries for 5 people... otherwise little to no vegetables with the dishes.

On 19/2/25 I had a fantastic culinary evening here with 3 ladies. We had not made a reservation, were planning to eat somewhere else, but decided on this restaurant because of the attractive appearance. We opted for a 4 course (sharing) menu which turned out to be a top choice. We enjoyed all courses, the steak tartare, risotto and pork tenderloin (so tender we have never eaten before) were our favorites. Host Omar Sharif was very friendly, entertaining, attentive and gave good explanations about food & drinks. In all respects, in our opinion, highly recommended!

Wij hebben gisteren voor de eerste keer gegeten bij deze prachtige tent, ik snap dan ook de negatieve comments niet. Het eten was heerlijk, het personeel was zo ontzettend vriendelijk, het is dat wij niet om de hoek wonen maar mochten we in de buurt zijn, komen we zeker terug!

Vond Gastrobar altijd goed,eten nu nog lekker,helaas qua flexibiliteit wat minder , geen enkele wens kon ingewilligd worden (erg rigide)en die waren echt niet zo groot, jammer !! Ook jammer van de stroomuitval tot 2 x toe ,maar dat lag natuurlijk wel buiten contrile van personeel

We had a delicious meal at Gastrobar 1910 tonight. The service was excellent, and the hosts were very welcoming, just what you expect when you're dining out. We sat near the kitchen, which was great to see how they organized the service. The selection is somewhat limited for vegetarians and fish eaters, but the wine selection is well-chosen, and the espresso was a perfect ending. We'll definitely be back.

10-01-2025 eaten 3 course menu. The starter was just very good main course a lot less meat entrecote, pork tenderloin was on the dry side vegetables and fries are not much. The dessert I don't know exactly what it was but 1 thing is certainly very mediocre. And super much.

Wij hebben hier met een groep van 30 personen een kerstetentje gehad, maar de ervaring was zeer teleurstellend. Vooraf was een meergangendiner afgesproken, maar dit werd niet naar verwachting uitgevoerd. De eerste gang was koud van aard en qua smaak redelijk, maar de presentatie liet veel te wensen over: saai en zonder enige flair. De tweede gang, die warm had moeten zijn, werd koud geserveerd. Mijn soep was zo zout dat deze niet te eten was en werd bovendien ook als saus bij de vis gebruikt, wat niet gepast was. Bij het hoofdgerecht hadden we een shared dish, waarbij de bijgerechten ruim 10 minuten vóór het vlees werden gebracht. Het vlees zelf was lauw en in te kleine porties, waardoor veel gasten hongerig naar huis gingen. Het dessert, waarvoor we specifiek de chocolade-eieren hadden gekozen vanwege de beleving, bleek ook een teleurstelling. In plaats van de gebruikelijke presentatie kregen we schalen met mousse en gebroken stukken chocolade. Dit was niet wat beloofd was. De service was beneden peil: drankjes duurden lang, zowel om te bestellen als om te ontvangen, en er werd niet uitgelegd wat er werd geserveerd. Ook de gemaakte afspraken over de opmaak van het menu werden niet nageleefd. Na afloop hebben we onze klachten per mail ingediend, maar hierop is geen reactie gekomen. Vervolgens ontvingen we enkele dagen later een forse factuur, waarop wij opnieuw reageerden. Ook daarop bleef een reactie uit. Sinds de wisseling van kok is de kwaliteit van deze zaak drastisch achteruitgegaan. De prijs-kwaliteitverhouding klopt niet meer. Hoewel de inrichting nog steeds sfeervol is, wegen de slechte service, gebrekkige uitvoering en magere gerechten daar niet tegenop.

Het spijt mij voor een ieder die zich heeft ingespannen om wat van het " diner" te maken. Het was helaas puur slecht. De kok heeft geen fantasie. Het eten was smakeloos en slecht van kwaliteit. Voorgerecht: bieten salade geen enkele fantasie .sausje uit een flesje!! Wat verse bieten raspen kunnen wij thuis ook. Voorgerecht : Tomaten risotto weinig smaak lauw niet warm. Een 5 Hoofdgerecht: kabeljauw: met spoed ontdooid .Taai geen smaak. Groente garnituur van bloemkool taai! De bijpassende garnie van seranoham taai ipv crunch. De ribeye was prima. Maar garnituur wederom gewoon slecht. Frietjes slap en smakeloos. Wij hebben geen gebruik meer gemaakt van de aangeboden koffie. Ontzettend jammer van een avondje uit waar wij ons op hadden verheugd.

Ate here on Christmas Day, very disappointing. We had made a reservation at 7:00 PM with 7 people. The restaurant was not full and a number of tables were simply empty. At 9:00 PM the restaurant was completely empty, not very cozy. The starter was sharing… 4 small pieces of salmon for 7 people, 6 shrimps for 7 people and a mini steak tartare to share with 7 people… A bit crazy. The carpaccio was very tasty. The table next to us was with 2 people and got as much food as we did with 7 people… The service was also not good, sat with empty glasses for a long time and eventually had to ask for new drinks ourselves. The staff was busier with each other than with the customers. Too bad, but never again🙃 Next time just go to Kreta Almelo again!

Leuk ingericht restaurant maar we hebben niet gegeten voor de prijs die betaald moet worden ribey wordt gevraagd of je medium wil nou vind knap als die zo dun is als je hem nog medium kunt bakken nee voor ons zijn er betere restaurants met deze prijzen voor ons 1x

What a letdown! Not worth repeating. We were there at half past seven and at 8 o'clock the starter finally arrived, although the person who had salmon had to wait even longer. Then waited until about 9pm for the main course to arrive. In the meantime, it also turned out that not all main courses had been recorded. (They found that out in the kitchen) Now 3 people had to wait longer and again it was about fish. It was also no longer a warm dish, because the fish had already cooled down quite a bit. The person who had to keep things in order on the top floor is not to blame. He was constantly running, but just couldn't finish it. A lot of money wasted on lower quality than you would expect at these prices. This was once, but never again! In Almelo you can eat a lot better at various restaurants, you have a wide choice and you don't pay the top price for mediocre food!!!!

punten voor verbetering: - geen non-alcoholische wijn verkrijgbaar (kan niet meer anno 2024) - hoofdgerecht: zalm was kurkdroog - nagerecht: creme brulee. Deze was volledig koud door een homp (kan het niet anders zeggen) sorbetijs die er bovenop lag, waardoor de creme brulee ook nog eens koud was. Bij de wok serveren ze beter. Al met al niet best...

Drama with sharing system. Starter and dessert must be shared and main course is surprise menu. You get food that you actually don't want or don't like. Dessert messy. So... Not anymore.

The food was fine, but not even remotely what it was before the takeover. Really expected more from it. Surprise menu has been replaced by sharing dinner where several dishes are served at the same time. Carpaccio, tartare, risotto starter, entrocote, pork tenderloin with a red wine and pepper sauce as a main. Vegetables and mashed potatoes on the plate. Fine, but not special at all. Dessert was disappointing with a filled chocolate basket with curds, mousse and, as a highlight, ready-made caramel cubes and mini marshmallows. Such a shame, don't think there will be a next time.

Seems like they changed the concept. The surprise menu has disappeared. And the quality of the food has gone from a big 9 to a meager 6. The desert was also very mediocre. Didn't look like a Dame Blanche in any way. Very unfortunate!!!

Beautiful restaurant, attention to nice, original details and delicious food!

Leuk restaurant met fijn meubilair, verdeeld over 2 etages. Geweest met een ander stel. Het eten was echt top, de gerechten waren wel klassiek maar de borden leken wel een kunstwerk. Smaak en textuur top. Wat beter kan is de ambiance, het was te koud en tochtig, geen muziek en de bediening was slecht en niet enthousiast, ook soms onverstaanbaar. Niet pro actief. Ook te weinig licht waardoor ik de gerechten bijna niet kon zien. Het stonk in de toiletten en de zeep was op. Als dit zou verbeteren kan het restaurant nog veel beter worden. Het was gewoon niet zo gezellig en de beleving moet beter. Jammer want het eten is van top klasse.

The restaurant is very nice. The interior design and furnishings are absolutely great! The menu is very appealing, everyone will find what they are looking for. The dishes were all very good! The only criticism is that although the service is polite, we often had to wait quite a long time for drinks. The service should be more attentive to empty glasses.

We enjoyed a 5-course surprise menu. All courses, except for the game stew, were very tasty! Unfortunately the service was a bit less. Sometimes we only received half a glass of wine and they may have forgotten our dessert, which was therefore served very late. It is an attractive building where you can sit very comfortably. Overall a great evening.

De afgelopen jaren bij dit restaurant meerdere keren gedineerd. Dit was tot nu toe altijd een hele goede ervaring. Gerechten goed op smaak, mooi gedecoreerd en vriendelijke bediening. Zodoende ook recent hier gedineerd. Echter was het nu een tegenvaller. De bediening was niet attent, het duurde meerdere keren lang voordat we een drankje kregen aangeboden. We kregen een matige tot geen uitleg bij de gerechten. De polenta was flauw van smaak, de kwaliteit van het hoofdgerecht viel tegen en de patat garnituur was gewoon al bijna koud. Heel erg jammer, dit had beter gekund.

Eten is redelijk maar we hebben ons geen moment welkom gevoeld. Na binnenkomst 20 minuten gewacht en toen maar iemand geroepen voor een aperatief. Ecxuus en welkomstdrankje was “voor het huis”, maar stond natuurlijk wel gewoon op de rekening ( en ik ga niet bedelen om zo’n drankje). Hoofdgerecht voor ons neergezet zonder enige uitleg wat er op het bord lag. Ons uitgebreide kopje koffie gedronken terwijl alle tafels om ons heen stevig afgesopt werden….dat ze ons liever zagen gaan dan komen was toen wel duidelijk. Snel afgerekend en we waren pas echt opgelucht en blij toen we buiten stonden en ons voorgenomen hadden hier nooit meer te willen eten.

Rebeye and ternado dishes are in the visual. The restaurant is first class, a little expensive but you should definitely eat here.

First time visiting Almelo. So dinner had to be had. Based on the reviews, we decided to have dinner here. The choice on the menu is more than sufficient. But opted for a 4-course Chef's Walk. This was a perfect choice! Nice variety in flavors and a lot of respect for the layout of the plates. Of course this is important, but without good service it is worth a lot less. But the service was also very knowledgeable and friendly. Furthermore, the sanitary facilities are excellent. All in all a TOP!!! Will definitely come back again. Food is good, but sometimes the vegetables lack some flavor refinement. Fries could be fried a little harder, lamb exceptionally good.

The two of us enjoyed a surprising 6-course menu from the chef in a beautiful ambiance on the first floor. Only the bread in the beginning made my taste buds dance and an amuse-bouche on the house set the bar very high for the rest.. Staff very friendly, attentive, a good eye for the guests, neat and tidy, what you hope to expect and so it happened. Top service! Interesting wine list and the choice for a bottle of Boschendaal Savignon Blanc was the right choice in combination with the food. At the end we opened a delicious bottle of cava and considering our entire list of surprises, the price/quality ratio is excellent and the antourage very inviting. All in all, a successful evening and the 5 stars are more than justified. Gastrobar 1910 thank you very much for an unforgettable evening and see you next time...!

Amazing food! Loin of pork and belly steak was fantastic. And the deserts are delicious.

Very poor price-quality ratio. 35 euros for main course with tiny piece of meat, spoon of puree, half a carrot and 2 asparagus. Really scandalous.

The food and service were top notch. Only the knife was not a problem for the lamb tenderloin. Toilet was also not clean.

Everything is there to give 5 stars for the food...beautiful dishes and good ingredients! I only had trouble with the fact that the different items on your plate had different temperatures...and nothing was really hot so you really had to keep eating otherwise it would be really cold.....everything was almost perfect, but not quite close to perfect. ...and we thought it was a bit too mildly seasoned...but I realize that that is a matter of taste.... and a cheese board with 5 pieces of cheese weighing 10 grams and 1 slice of bread the size of a melba toast... .for €14.50 it really has the potential to be super good, a bit of fine tuning required

As regular 'out-of-town eaters', we visited Gastrobar1910 for the first time this time. And as a former chef, I am quite critical and sharp on certain matters. A beautiful restaurant, in terms of design, atmosphere and entourage. It was quite dark upstairs, so you couldn't see the beautiful compositions properly. That's a shame because a lot of attention was paid to this, which meant that the smell-color-taste experience was somewhat less. The map looks ambitious. Nice challenging dishes alternated with a few 'golden oldies', so something for everyone. The prices are slightly higher than average, so expectations are somewhat higher. As a starter we had the Tataki Style and the salmon, which is 'house smoked', with citrus, carrot and tarragon. The Tataki was tasty, good flavors together. Only the 2 dollops of 'cream/sauce' were particularly spicy. This lingered for too long and did not benefit the other flavors. A little less sharpness would have been nice. The other starter consisted of a nice piece of salmon, but the citrus flavor dominated here. This made the whole thing quite sour and the taste of the salmon almost completely disappeared. Flavors should not be overpowering, but should be balanced. The sour, salty, sweet, etc. should be in harmony with each other, present but certainly not heavily in the foreground. A matter of 'fine tuning'. The main courses, my wife had the tournedos with brisket, seasonal vegetables and red wine sauce. I had the ribeye with seasonal vegetables and herb butter. Both pieces of beef were cooked to a fine medium. My ribeye was slightly saignant, which I didn't mind at all. Both pieces also had a good taste and excellent quality, top! (It was also nice that the plates were properly preheated, which is sometimes forgotten elsewhere.) We also had some kind of potato biscuit. This one had a very high flavor. A bit too salty for us. Some brisket was also served with the tournedos. If we are talking about high taste… this was really way too salty. We reported it to the waiter and it would be passed on to the kitchen. The waitress did indicate that their food is saltier than at other restaurants... For desert I had a cappuccino with really delicious sweets and my wife had a scoop of creamy strawberry ice cream, which tasted more like cream than strawberries, in a nice glass. Make sure that the glass is not full of greasy fingerprints. Deep respect for the ladies at the service who always had to walk up and down 2 flights of stairs. They are professional, look neat, know what is on the menu and what components the dishes consist of. The dishes were beautifully presented and attention had clearly been paid to the visual effect, compliments. There is no accounting for taste. That's right, but 'too' is not good either. If the kitchen balances the 'salty and sour' a little more with the main flavors, then everything will be fine. As figures we would give a 6.5 to the kitchen and an 8 to the service. Will we come back sometime? We have to think about this for too long... Keyword: balance!

Very nice thing. Atmospheric through and through. Service very inexperienced and not very friendly. All courses also served quickly. We indicated that we wanted to wait for the main course. Every 5 minutes they came to ask if they could prepare it already. If you order game, you really had to look for it on your plate. Very pricey!

In my opinion, a restaurant tries to imitate a Michelin star restaurant, but it just doesn't work. The food was simply delicious, but if you look at the price-quality ratio then ... Yesterday we had a wonderful meal with a group of friends. Unfortunately for us, the portions were a bit on the small side, but after consultation this turned out completely fine. As a result, we still went home with a full feeling. The service was also great, in my opinion the best restaurant we have eaten in Almelo so far.

The food, in addition to the delicious wines, is unprecedentedly top-notch; combination is sensational, delicious and beautifully designed on the plate. Very nice experience and highly recommended!! Nice restaurant, good food, nicely served. I ordered ravioli as a main course, and there was exactly 1 piece of ravioli on my plate (homemade, about 10x10 cm filled with only cheese and asparagus sauce-like something), supplemented with some vegetable decoration. This is literally bite, swallow, gone and you're done eating within 1 minute. When I kindly asked the waitress about this, it came down to the fact that it is normal and that is how they serve it... But if I really had to, I could get some extra. I then received 6 pieces. That seems to me to be an acknowledgment that they also understand that this is not sufficient as a main course, if you suddenly get 6x the main course extra.

A real asset to Almelo. Very nice establishment, atmospheric! Good friendly service, you really feel like a popular guest. We opted for the chef's surprise menu, this way you eat things that you would normally not choose, but it is often the standard steak or something similar. Here you can be surprised because they can cook! I think they can even make a log of wood taste good. I can't think of any negatives and will come here often.

As many have written here, it is a more 'fancy' restaurant than the other establishments in the area, but certainly no less cozy. The staff is knowledgeable, the chef walks around the place a few times and the food is delicious. For the four-course menu, including a few wines and coffee and a drink, we spent approximately 75 pp.

Fresh, original and excellent quality. Immediately helped upon arrival and received our own baked bread, butter & olive oil, and sweet and sour crudité. We chose a 3 course menu, but if you want you can take 6 courses. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, the service is very friendly and attentive. Price-quality is fine. Nice and good chef who also stopped by. Great tent! We had a delicious meal there.

Nice place in the center. More exclusive than an average restaurant. Tasty snacks in advance and attention is paid to everything (including serving coffee). The chocolate dessert is a nice experience. Restaurant is slightly more expensive than average, but definitely worth it.
