Geweldige locatie, gastvrijheid, ambiance en het eten (Waddenplateau) was een 10 met een griffel! Afgesloten met "Ode aan de cranberry". Zeer de moeite waard.

Ik was eigenlijk een beetje teleurgesteld, ik had alleen de dinerkaart gezien, en die sprak mij enorm aan. Maar wij kwamen voor de lunch en dat was een kaart met gerechten die ik niet heel bijzonder vond. Mijn eigen fout natuurlijk, maar ik vind het wel raar dat je als gastrobar een eetcafé lunchkaart hebt. Maar goed, we werden echt heel vriendelijk ontvangen en snel geholpen. Wij hebben gekozen voor de burger en daar ging het eigenlijk weer een soort van mis. Hij was ronduit taai, gewoon niet heel erg lekker. Aan de bereiding lag het niet want hij was licht rosé in het midden, maar de structuur vond ik gewoon niet lekker dan(en dat is smaak gebonden uiteraard). Alles was voor de rest prima, bediening was zeer attent. Ik ga er zeker nog een keer diner eten, en genieten van hun mooie kaart.

Top restaurant on Terschelling! As an islander, I am a big fan of Gastrobar Onder de Pannen. Friendly service, delicious dishes and a beautiful open kitchen. They work a lot with island products, which you can really taste. Always fresh, creative and with an eye for detail. Highly recommended! Whether you go for an extensive dinner or just a cozy evening with a good glass of wine and some bites: you are always in the right place here.

Had to wait 2.5 hours for the main menu because other tables (read Douwe Bob) got priority. This is confirmed and eventually an excuse is made that makes no sense.

A must-visit on Terschelling. Recommended by a friend who frequents the island, this restaurant truly exceeded our expectations. The place was bustling, with many tables turning over multiple groups during the evening, a sign of its popularity. Despite the crowd, we were warmly welcomed and quickly seated at a spacious round table. While the acoustics weren’t ideal due to the full house, it was a minor detail in an otherwise fantastic experience. We started with a selection of mixed platters, each bite packed with flavor, well-balanced, and generously portioned. For mains, some of us chose the cheese fondue, while others shared a côte de boeuf. The staff thoughtfully helped us determine the right portion size for our group. While we waited, we had a clear view of the open kitchen, an absolute treat. Watching the kitchen team work in perfect harmony was impressive and added a special touch to the evening. When the dishes arrived, they looked beautiful, but the taste was on another level. The côte de boeuf was smoky, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. The cheese fondue was rich and smooth, accompanied by a great variety of dippables like bread and vegetables. All in all, we can’t recommend Gastrobar Onder de Pannen enough. From the warm hospitality to the outstanding food, it’s clear the team here takes great pride in their work. We’ll definitely be back.

Voortreffelijk gegeten bij “onder de pannen”. Desondanks t druk was en zonder reservering toch een perfecte tafel gekregen voor 9 personen op het overdekte en verwarmde terras. Kaart was divers met heerlijke gerechten. Iedereen heeft genoten van diverse gerechten zowel vis, vlees als kindermenu’s. Geschonken wijnen waren prima in combinatie met de gerechten. Gezellige sfeer, vriendelijke bediening. Dagmenu (tarbot) was een toppertje.

The food here is excellent! Cosy atmosphere, friendly staff. We sat in the conservatory, if it is busy and you do not like noise then you better not sit there. The acoustics there make it sound even louder. The lamb shank here is unsurpassed!

We visited Gastrobar among the pans with four of the dinner and were initially satisfied with the atmosphere. The food was decent, although it must be said that we really enjoyed the côte de boeuf last year. Unfortunately things went wrong when we ordered coffee afterwards. The coffee had to be served three times due to problems with the coffee dispenser!! the first two cups had a strange, watery taste. Although the staff was polite and did their best to resolve it, it was quite frustrating that the problem kept recurring. What made it even more disappointing was that despite everything, the coffee was still on the bill. After having an extensive dinner with four people and having spent a considerable amount of money, we expected at least a small compensation. For example, not counting something that clearly did not meet the standard. Unfortunately, this left a bitter aftertaste after what could have been a nice evening. We doubt whether we will come back here again.

We ate here twice within 1 week. The cooking here is incredibly tasty and loving, using beautiful products. The service was also excellent. Highly recommended. One evening it was full and then the noise level went up to busy and pleasant.

Monday, March 24, we had another delicious meal at Onder de Pannen. Surprise of the evening: the beetroot soup. Now Onder de Pannen often excels with daring soups, such as the legendary pear soup. This beetroot soup was also worth it. The soup was full and pure in taste. The slightly salty breadstick provided a delicious balance. The steak tartare with pata negra is a tasty certainty. The cod fillet and sea bass fillet with garnish were delicious. Chef René's desserts and cheese board provided appropriate endings. All this, accompanied by a top Weißburgunder from Martin Waßmer, completed the culinary enjoyment.

We ate here three times during our week. Including twice the Cote de Boeuf. Wow, what quality. Cows walk on the boschplaat. Special experience, the Cote de Boeuf selected at the table. Thanks Jasper! We will come back again soon for a weekend to eat here.

With 3 people and 4 stabys we were more than welcome. Food, top 10, service also top 10. The dogs lie down and are not a bother to anyone, but a waiter does not know that in advance. These people were super friendly and we enjoyed it from start to finish. Used a dinner gift voucher and that was no problem. Absolutely recommended if you value conviviality and delicious food.

On my birthday, during our holiday, we ate at Gastrobar Onder de Pannen for the first time. We felt very welcome upon arrival. We were received very hospitably and congratulated on my birthday. Efforts had been made at the table by arranging various decorations. Great fun! In addition to the hospitality and good service, the food was also fantastic. Disappointing experience. Hospitality is more than just providing a service; it is also listening, thinking along and showing understanding. Unfortunately, that was missing from my recent experience. Of course, not everything always runs perfectly – I understand that. But when an obvious disappointment is dismissed with a rather nonchalant response, it not only feels impersonal, but also disrespectful. It is precisely at times when something does not go according to plan that the added value lies in how it is handled. A small gesture, a little empathy, an attempt at a solution – that could have made the difference. Unfortunately, that did not happen, which ultimately left the experience with an unsatisfactory feeling. This also made other small imperfections stand out, such as a truffle sauce that tasted surprisingly little of truffle - yet a distinct taste - and a dessert menu without any really appealing choices. Too bad, because hospitality is not only in what you offer, but especially in how you treat your guests. Addition: After posting this review, we were contacted by telephone by a gentleman who introduced himself as Pieter. In a very unprofessional and intimidating manner he demanded that I delete my review. He used words such as "I know where you live" and "we are coming after you". This experience confirms my previous impression that the restaurant seems to be short on empathy. Now I'm even intimidated into reconsidering my opinion. During the week that I was on Terschelling, I ate twice at Onder PANen. Both times the food was very delicious and the service and hospitality were also pleasant. Even if you are on your own, like me, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcome.

May stay on the island in West aan Zee from 7 to 14 December. We looked at restaurants in the area and ended up at Onder de Pannen in Midsland. Ate here several times and in my opinion one of the best restaurants on Terschelling. the metamorphosis from cafe to gastrobar was enormous, not only in terms of cooking, but also the open kitchen is an eye-catcher. The enthusiastic crew of the restaurant ensures that mouth-watering dishes come to your table, with the turbot (a whole not a fillet) being the big tempter.

Made a reservation online and indicated that we would come with a stroller. Upon arrival it was clear that it was unknown. Were placed in a corner in the conservatory. Table had not been cleaned, that was seen, would clean it. When the drinks were served, we asked if the table could be cleaned. Food was not what we were used to, have been there several times. Price quality varies. Conservatory was draughty, not clean. Unfortunately for us this is no longer worth repeating.

We had a delicious meal at Onder de Pannen. The menu consists of nice, bistro-style dishes with an emphasis on fish, seafood and shellfish. The atmosphere is casual and the service is excellent. Moreover, the price/quality ratio is really good. All in all highly recommended.

We chose the appetizer tasting and it was an excellent choice. All dishes were tasty and a pleasure to taste. As a main course I went for the gnocchi. A delicious dish, a beautiful palette of flavors on the plate. I also tasted the lamb shank, a nice tender piece of meat. For dessert we have the flan on “ode to the cranberry”. In addition, two chocolates. (Next time I want to try the panna cotta, it looked really good too!). the service was cheerful and helpful. We drank nice wines and tasty whiskey with dinner. It is a beautiful, atmospheric restaurant, where you can sit both inside and (semi) outside.

Last Thursday, I walked in in the afternoon to ask if they still had room. And luckily they had that. After a warm welcome, a table for 2 in the middle of the shop. And what a delicious meal we had, the starter was a board for 2 people from the various starters on the menu. Surprising flavors and combinations. As a main course we both had the classic mussels. And to be honest, I have never eaten such delicious mussels... In combination with a good glass of wine, it was the perfect end to our week on Terschelling. A big congratulations to this wonderful restaurant... And you can't beat the price either....

Arrogant owner does not wish to comply with the dietary wishes of a celiac patient. We have never been treated in such a rude manner. Too sad for words.

After a question about Gluten Free, the owner freaked out. I should have worried about the war instead of gluten (celiac patient). This gentleman has hurt me so much with his words. That I was going to pay for two wines, he started cursing again "seemed like a bad movie" that I had ended up in. Will save you with which words. I am now also very curious whether Mr. Sjoerd will also respond to this and politely!

Top mussels with fresh local greenery such as oyster leaves from the mudflats. Cooking here is done with love. And friendly service. Tip: some nice cozy cushions on the terrace.

HIGH TEA IN THE HEART OF SUMMER. We have been to Terschelling for the 20th summer in a row and had never been to Onder de Pannen. So, let's be crazy and book a high tea there, on a sunny and warm day at 3 p.m. This high tea exceeded all expectations. It was very tasty and very surprising. We started with a reception with (possibly non-alcoholic) bubbles. Then came a 'sweet' platter with delicacies that incorporated local flavors. The next 'savory' platter was so surprising: a South American chef had prepared local products in a very special way! We ended with a platter including chocolates and macro lens. A matching local tea flavor was served with each platter. The service was extremely friendly and took all the time to explain and answer questions. His passion for the profession and his beautiful stories have significantly contributed to this culinary highlight. High tea at Gastrobar Onde De Pannen? Certainly do!!!
