Meat is very good. Will go back.

Stopped by here and it all sounded good. Walked in the door, just 1 and was sat at a table. And I sat and I sat and I sat. After 10 mins of nothing. Restaurant was maybe half full. I said to myself, they get 5 mins and I'm headed for the door. Well at 6 mins they finally came over and truly apologized which I thought was nice. I placed my order, Churrasco. I even asked is that the one with the Chimichurri sauce? Yes she said. 5 mins later they brought it out. It all looked good but after the first bite the steak seemed like it was pan fried, no real grill flavor and just average. It was tender and cooked correct. But then again on top of it was Garlic and Parsley and the garlic was very bitter. After a few bites I thought maybe someone would check on my and I'd ask about the Chimichurri sauce... CRICKETS. Halfway thru, I thought I'm going to wait.... NOTHING. I then finished my meal and waited for someone to come over.... 5 mins..... 10 mins..... Finally after 15 mins go by a different waiter came by. I asked was the stuff on the steak your Chimichurri sauce? Oh, no they said. Grrrrrr I said well if someone would have came by after your dropped the food off I would have asked for some! They went to get the check and I got up and met them to pay. I told them, your service is terrible. Guess I should have paid more attention to the reviews both on here and Yelp. <SIGH>

Delicious ribeye and good pepper sauce. The fries with garlic and parsley used to be highly recommended, but they're no longer on the menu. The service was okay, but the chairs were far too heavy and the noise they made when moving them. A major drawback: the smell of the toilet/sewer system throughout the restaurant. If you're sitting near the stairs to the toilet, it's unbearable.

We ate at Gauchos. The atmosphere and staff were absolutely terrible. The staff spoke little to no Dutch, almost exclusively English. We sat in a sewer-like odor while dining, which was truly disgusting, and as a restaurant, you can't do that to your customers! The chairs were metal, far too heavy, making them extremely noisy. It took half an hour before we could order anything. No one even looked at us. The price-quality ratio is quite skewed. The food was okay, the fries weren't so good. It was very expensive, though. We were given a sauce that we hadn't ordered, but the staff immediately told us it was on the receipt. Absolutely not. So you're being ripped off right in front of you, and you end up paying much more than you ordered. The staff also showed little to no interest. I don't understand how a place like this can exist. I wouldn't recommend it!

I went here for dinner with my girlfriend and two year old child. This Gauchos location's atmosphere and overall look did feel a bit outdated. (nothing extreme however) The staff were quick to help and very kind. The food was amazing as always, their steak selection is excellent. We were seated by the window and had a view on the busy street. Do note that trams pass here every ~10 minutes but the noise is acceptable.

Great steak, good value. Quite quiet on a Tuesday night.

Food was ok, not very good, we had to wait a very long time, longer than an hour, people next to us came later and got their food earlier and left earlier. I don't have any problems with it myself, but it is very annoying if you go out to eat with a hungry child. People were nice, might come back if it were quieter. But never again on a Saturday night.

This place was a really unfortunate miss. I went here alone. The ambiance is great when you walk in. That is where the good stops. I ordered empanadas to start. They took 25 minutes to come out. They were clearly burnt and were from a frozen bag. I could clearly tell these were not fresh empanadas. The shell was hard as a rock, the seam was pressed by a machine, and the filling was mush. There was no seasoning inside the empanadas. Argentinian empanadas have raisins, egg, and the meet is cooked with spices. They were served with a tomato sauce that looked like it came from a can. Argentinians serve this with chimichurri. My main was the three cut combo and I asked for them to be Medium Rare. I also ordered sweet potato fries. The steaks took another 25 minutes to arrive (45 minutes to get my food). The three steaks were all cooked at different temperatures. One was rare, one mid rare, and one well done. They had no seasoning on them whatsoever. I had to add salt. The chimichurri was not chimichurri. A base ingredient of chimichurri is vinegar. All chimichurris from each region of Argentina are different. However they all have the same base (olive oil, salt, pepper, vinegar, parsley, garlic). This chimi had clumps of pepper and a ton of oil. It also has no seasoning. The sweet potato friends were burnt with no seasoning. Inside was mush and out side was hard. They were clearly frozen. This is not a good Argentinian restaurant. Everything needed to be seasoned.

The steak is not bad and the service is great...

You can eat the best tenderloin here...always perfectly grilled.

Did not have a great experience here. It took ages to get served, and our order was messed up. Also, a strange smell throughout the restaurant (an issue with drains?). The food itself was of excellent quality although the presentation was very basic. Maybe we would have found a better experience on a quieter night.

Very disappointing, been coming to this restaurant for years in conjunction with a trade show at the Rai and always received warm friendly welcome and service to match.Unfortunately tonight it was complete the opposite. The food was excellent as always but the staff were simply not interested or attentive to the customers including us. Great restaurant let down by the service. Jeff

J ai très bien dîné. à excellente ! Sauce béarnaise à améliorer. Viandé cuite à mon goût. Très bonne ambiance avec mon gendre,ma fille et petite fille. Nous revenons à chaque fois.

Enjoyed a fantastic business dinner with colleagues at Gauchos Amsterdam. The steaks were incredible - high quality meat and cooked to perfection. We paired our meals with top notch Argentinian wines that complemented the food wonderfully. Service was impeccable and attentive throughout. With awesome authentic cuisine and a lively vibe, Gauchos is a great spot for a special meal out. Highly recommend!

Goed vlees. Sfeer en ambiance is niet heel bijzonder. Prijs vrij hoog wat wel het vlees waar is, maar minder de service en sfeer. Moesten steeds vrij lang wachten tot we iets konden bestellen. De akoestiek is niet best, en dan is er ook nog gekozen voor zware metalen stoelen die een hels kabaal maken als je ze verschuift.

Love to sneak in here around 9 after the crowd is gone and have a delicious stake and a good glass of red wine.. doesnt get much better than this in Amsterdam.

Not a fan of Argentinian steak houses but I was pleasantly surprised about the quality of the food..excellent service too

Uma carme maravilhosa e um atendimento muito bom .Recomendo a todos .

Los gouchos m o et echt oppassen. Service beneden peil. De gamba,s waren prima. Maar de kip was niet goed bereid. Te voorgebakken , geen saus etc. Enigste wat op bord lag was de rucola. Bij gerechten smaakloos. Dessert met oude nootjes. Al met al een teleurstelling. Bediening teveel met andere dingen bezig. Vwb de koks. Die zouden zich echt moeten afvragen waar ze mee bezig zijn.

Eten was prima, personeel is niet attent, is meet met zichzelf bezig en vriendin die langskomt.

Carne un po' nervosa ma saporita. Servizio cortese e attento.

From the moment I went in I knew that this was a high-quality steak restaurant. The service was very good, :-) And the food was awesome. I asked for the BIFE DE LOMO, so tender and juicy, look at the picture 😬…You can tell I loved it. Definitely coming again.

First dinner since landing in ams. Menu was straight forward and met our expectations. Service was great and was easy to communicate in English. You can taste the difference in the ingredients and how fresh the food was. Highly recommended.

We arrived in Amsterdam and was looking for a quick bite to eat. The staff were extremely friendly and although busy managed to find us a table. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was delicious and reasonably priced for the area. It was a very clean place and although full it was not noisy so you could carry on a conversation

Very good steaks and sides, with excellent, friendly staff. Our server was really helpful around my wife's gluten allergy. We really enjoyed our visit!

Years ago, they had better food. Now it's almost basic. Good vibes in there compensate

Steak was cooked perfectly, chorizo tasted so good, the chicken had great flavor just was all dry.

ate at this restaurant yesterday. While eating the watery carpaccio there was a hair in my food! I immediately passed this on, no apologies and the hostess avoided me all evening. The main course very meager layout, the steak had a good taste, only one tendon in a steak, of course this should not! The service was reasonable 1 waitress very nice. For the money you spend you can go much better to another restaurant. When we left nothing was said at all no apologies no good evening nothing at all! For us never again customer should be king!

Visiting from England and we found the restaurant close to our hotel the Delphi. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was delicious. They not only served very good stakes. We had the marginated chicken that I would recommend. All round a very excellent restaurant. They help to celebrate my birthday.
