We ate very tasty steaks! Not the first restaurant you would walk into, but it wasn't that bad. Very tasty meal!

The interior is cozy, comfortable, atmospheric. The food is delicious, especially the grill menu (the ribs and steak are incredible). The service is fast, the waiters are friendly and pleasant. Prices are affordable, portions are large.

The salon is some cheap bargain grocery store farm raised crap. For $50. Do yourself a favor and go ANYWHERE else.

Far too expensive for finished products. No recommendation! Continues. Unfortunately, the packet soup wasn't completely dissolved when it was served, and the bruschetta salad was totally dried out. And for that you should pay 40€.

We were craving meat and found this spot. Their plate of ribs is delicious! Tender meat with just the right amount of bbq sauce, perfect with a side of flavoured rice. We had steak as well, which was just ok. But we did enjoy the mashed potato alongside it which has small potato chunks and not just smooth all the way, love that. The serving is quite huge, so perfect if you're coming in hungry and craving for meat.

I was in this restaurant recently and ordered a 300 gram steak. To my horror, the waitress arrived with a 500 gram steak. At first I thought it was a friendly misunderstanding, but when I couldn't eat the entire steak, it turned out to be anything but. When the bill came, they explained to me that it was their mistake, but I still had to pay for the 500 gram steak. Incredible! A restaurant that doesn't acknowledge its mistakes and makes customers pay for their own failings doesn't deserve to be eaten there. Service, customer orientation and an understanding of fairness are completely missing here. I can only strongly advise against visiting this restaurant!

It is actually the first best steak restaurant that you come across when you step out of the main train station. Clever solution: the same owner or operator serves the Argentinian and Italian restaurant parts. San Thomas is next to San Tomaso A restaurant. The meat at San Thomas was surprisingly good and prepared correctly. The prices were quite high but for a hungry crowd like us it was actually quite acceptable. 200 g of Argentinian entrecôte for €21.95 is okay. Not the most charming operation but still: functionality over aesthetics.

Too expensive for the amount of food and the steak i got was burned

We went two nights in a row, first night, we had steak, baked potatoes with sour cream plus vegetables. Wonderful meal. Second night, I had rack of lamb from NZ with baked potato with sour cream. I was expecting 4 chops but got 8, they were so tender and delicious, could only eat half my potato, my husband had a pork chop with baked potato. The food is amazing. Stephan (not sure if spelt right) was a great host. Would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Delicious food, a mixed grill for 2 people. Lots of meat, the steak was very good, the sparerib bones fall out of the meat and are nicely seasoned. Everything served on a BBQ table.

Paid 70.00 for a Tomahawk steak that was probably the worst “steak” ive ever had. It was literally all fat. The rice was definitely microwaved as most of the pieces were still hard. The waiter had the worst attitude. Service was absolutely horrible. And the manager or whoever he was talked to his staff (a guy who must have been new) so condescendingly and with attitude. Id either save your money and go elsewhere or come in here expecting the worst. Came in here last night and definitely will never come back.

The meat was good but was poorly served ; the salad and the sauces were too expensive for the quality. The service was good/bad; one of the waiters was very friendly and helpful but then came another one who was very lazy and after we ate , without asking if we wanted something else, he just brought us the bill, even though the time was far from closing time and the restaurant was practically empty. Also the bathroom was extremely dirty.

We had an unpleasant time. The staff should definitly make an effort to hide their scorn towards the customers and better manage their stress in order to make customers confortable.

The manager insults you in his language, looks at you badly when you order something that doesn't suit him, doesn't know the dishes on the menu and if you ask him in Spanish (since it's an Argentinian restaurant and the names of the dishes are in the same language) he replies annoyed to speak in English. They gave us enormous stress, almost nervous, despite being the only table to be served. How sad. Evidently they are too busy taking salad out of cheap supermarket plastic bags rather than paying any attention to the service. The quality of the meat is good, but everything else is horrible.

Poor food and poor service, not much to say

If 0 stars was a thing it would be chosen. We sat and waiting 25 mins for someone to take even a drinks order. Once the drinks came, they messed up and got them wrong. Our steaks came wrong. Staff then told us we are only complaining to get money off and shouted at us. The staff are a joke. Avoid with every inch

We visited San Thomas - WS on a cold January evening to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. The restaurant is beautiful, the food is delicious, but the service is terrible. It feels like the waitstaff only care about getting more tips from you. We felt uncomfortable here. When we paid the bill and asked about the metro's closing time, they just turned away and didn't answer, hinting that we should leave quickly because they were closing. We felt unwanted immediately after paying. The waitstaff, for the most part, are not friendly; I would even say they are unfriendly. My husband and I felt very tense here. I tried to smile at the waitstaff, and one of them responded with something like he's too tired to smile back, implying that I should leave him alone. Compared to American service, this not-so-cheap restaurant is a far cry from it. The restaurant owner should pay attention to the service and conduct training with the staff on how to behave with customers.

Quality meat cooked well good beer

Price-quality ratio was not good. Atmosphere was not really inviting. Service was also not professional.

Tourist catcher! Exhorbitant price for more than deplorable quality! We waited forever for our food. Bottle of water at €4.20 for 50cl which was taken away before it was even finished (half remained). The toilets are in a terrible state! The icing on the cake: more than €130 per bill (4 courses, 4 drinks) to end the evening and the entire night spent all over the place at the hotel. Thank you for this food poisoning to start the year off well (I should point out that several of us were sick!) I think the worst thing was the waiter's face, disappointed at not getting a tip when the dishes were taken away from us as soon as they were finished!

This Argentine site has nothing. Of the cuts of the 10 types of meat that they had on the menu, only 2 were available. I don't usually make bad comments, many times I understand perfectly if there is a problem about the warehouse and nothing happens. In this "restaurant" you breathe Scam. I was completely wrong, you are not wrong too. The meat has previously arrived very raw and immediately burned. In comparison KFC deserves 5 Michelin stars!

I am not one to leave a review normally however my partner and I came here for dinner and the food was absolutely incredible. We ordered a grille for 2 and the meat was perfect. The service was great and the atmosphere was brilliant.

Every single part of this food was Delicious !! Cooked to perfection! We will surely be returning every time we visit Amsterdam. I highly recommend visiting this little spot! the staff are so polite and professional too! 😁 great little place to eat!

I ordered a spaghetti carbonara. It was nice but slightly lacked the extra flavour acquired from the pancetta that was made with it. The empanadas were very tasty. Defo recommend them. Overall, a rather nice experience on my final day in Amsterdam.

This was my first time at San Thomas and a very pleasant experience. I really enjoyed the ribs and they had a great rack of ribs. They are so good I went back for seconds before leaving Amsterdam. If I was living in Amsterdam Sam Thomas would be where I would regularly dine. But it wasn’t only the food. The service was also exceptional. Being a visitor the staff were great. Especially Natdine who knew exactly what I was wanting. She conveys really well with customers. Well worth dining at Sam Thomas. You will enjoy both the food and the excellent service. This service experience is rare to find.
