Very good Chinese but expensive

The food is truly delicious. A set meal for two people—soup, spring rolls, and a main course with rice or noodles, plus tea or coffee—is around 28 euros per person. The service is also friendly and welcoming. I recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Very good Chinese food. Prices are high, as in all of Amsterdam. Very large portions.

We ate at Golden House in Amsterdam today and we enjoyed it so much! The food was delicious and the portions were good and generous. The nasi was served nice and hot, and the chicken was wonderfully tender and full of flavor. The soup was also very tasty. The hospitality was truly top-notch. The staff is incredibly friendly and kind and really takes the time for the guests. They even came by occasionally for a friendly chat, which made the atmosphere extra warm and personal. The manager was also incredibly nice. He even came over to our table and surprised my little brother with a few free extras. A truly wonderful gesture! The starters are especially recommended, certainly if you are coming with a large family or a larger group. There is plenty to share, and everyone can enjoy different dishes. In short: delicious food, good portions, and amazing hospitality. Highly recommended! We will definitely be back again.

Best Thai chicken I ever eat !!!

I was attracted to this restaurant by nice decorations outside but after couple bites of food I regretted I chose to come here. Food was absolutely awful and staff didn’t try to improve the situation. Though I barely ate my food I was told to pay the whole bill and it that was my problem that I didn’t like the food🤬

​A decent spot for a filling meal, but with some notable hurdles for diners with specific needs. ​The Food: The Giant Spring Roll certainly lives up to its name—it is absolutely massive. While the Fried Rice was just average, the Beef and Broccoli was the undisputed star of the night. The beef was tender, flavorful, and easily the highlight of the meal. ​The Downside: The kitchen seems unable to customize dishes. We visited for dinner with strict dietary restrictions (no pork), but there was a significant communication barrier with the server. Despite our concerns, we weren't confident the request was understood, resulting in us only being able to eat about half of what we ordered. ​Summary: Go for the beef, but be cautious if you have specific dietary requirements.

I've never eaten so badly. Ready-made meals from the supermarket are better. The service and ambiance were okay, but the food was unfortunately the cheapest microwave fare. For example, I had a vegetarian dish where the broccoli was completely mushy, the entire vegetable platter was unseasoned, the sauce was slimy, and the tofu was tasteless and wobbly. My companion had tofu in batter with rice, and there weren't even any vegetables with it. Furthermore, the batter was so wobbly and soft that it could never have seen a pan, an oven, or a deep fryer. It must have come from the microwave. The vegetables also showed no signs of preparation; a pan, wok, or oven would have left a mark. The sweet and sour sauce was exactly the kind you can buy ready-made, as were the pieces of fruit in it. On top of that, the rice wasn't even included in the price. And it's outrageous that the prices inside are significantly higher than advertised outside. They served a can of apple juice for 4 euros. The portion size was manageable, thankfully, because I could only stomach it with extra soy sauce and hot sauce. And this outrageous dish is served at a price that would have gotten you a royal meal in a decent restaurant. Never again, even one star is too generous.

We received a fantastic welcome! We went there for the first time at the beginning of a seminar in Amsterdam. The food was delicious and the owner was incredibly warm and hospitable. So we went back at the end of our stay. Just as satisfied as the first time!! We recommend it 1000%!

The food itself was decent, but the overall experience was disappointing. The place felt a bit run-down, and the prices didn’t match the quality or the atmosphere. What bothered me most was being charged an unusually high price for simple drinks without any clear explanation. It wasn’t terrible, but it definitely didn’t feel fair for what we paid. I don’t think I’d return.

I’m furious. Dinner was fine, but when I asked for a bottle of water, they brought only glasses without saying a word. I assumed it was tap water. Instead, they charged almost €5 per glass and later claimed it was some “premium brand” I never saw. Even luxury restaurants don’t charge that much, and this place is definitely not one. Our bill was €100 for two, with €20 just for water served in random glasses. Completely misleading and unacceptable. I’m never going back.

Food was okay, but the place felt a bit shabby. No wine selection, and water was insanely overpriced by the glass with no bottle. They even listed it as “SPA” water on the receipt, which wasn’t true. Not a great experience.

A truly unique and pleasant family atmosphere. The food is delicious, perfectly prepared and presented. The service is excellent.

I ordered the chicken with cashew nuts, the cha siu and fried wontons. I placed the order at 18:53. My doorbell rang at 19:06. That’s 13 minutes. While I appreciate the speed, the chicken tasted boiled/bland. It was in a clear corn starch sauce. And the vegetables were all basically raw. I think the chicken (and vegetables) really needed to sauté a few more minutes. The wontons seemed to have opened up in the deep frier. They lacked any sort of structural integrity and most were open, resulting in the meat inside having blanched in the oil. The Cha Siu was good, but since that has to roast for a long time I guess it was premade and heated up. Moral of the story: slow down, and take your time. Customers will gladly wait the extra few minutes for quality especially at these prices.

The vegetarian options are great and the Chinese babi pangang is very crispy and highly recommended.

The place looks nice, but the experience was disappointing. Food came out a minute after ordering, the main dish arrived before the appetizers. I asked for two cups of water but was charged for “Spa Blue,” only got one cup, and never even saw the bottle. The meat tasted off, with some pieces oddly tangy despite the same sauce. Overall, not great or consistent.

We liked the fried rice, but the sauce of the mixed vegetable with tofu dish seemed very starchy. Also the mushrooms were not fresh (canned goods). Portions were very big.

Read the fine print on the menu carefully... rice is extra... 1.50, which is still possible... but an extra bowl is 4 euros... a 0.5 beer 7.95... so a bite to eat is still expensive... the food was tasty... but not a highlight

The food was prepared very quickly, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the service friendly. I was there on June 6, 2025, around 3 p.m. and ordered number 37 on the menu. My girlfriend also liked it. Clearly a sweet spot for me. The drinks were also quite good. As a German, I'd say this restaurant is definitely a good place to eat.

I wish I could leave 10 stars for food, service and atmosphere. Excellent meal and lovely staff.

Great find 5 minutes walk from our hotel (Urban Lodge) the food was really good, portion sizes were great and the owner was really helpful when ordering. The waiting staff were also friendly. Definitely recommend if you're staying out near Amsterdam Sloterdijk 👍🏻

The decoration of a typical traditional Chinese restaurant in foreign countries is very similar to that of China thirty years ago. The boss and staff are very kind and friendly. If you want to eat Chinese food in a foreign country, this is a good choice. There is not much variety of food, but it tastes good. We ordered a set meal for two nights, which cost €25 per person. The food was generous, which was really good.

THEY CHARGE €3.50 WATER BY THE GLASS!!!!Everything was fine and food was good until we got our bill. They charged us €3.50 x 8 small glasses of WATER that ballooned our bill. There were 4 of us and when we ordered our food - we only asked for water as our drinks without knowing that they charge you for tap water. They came and served 4 glasses (6oz size) of water. We asked for more because we were thirsty. In a restaurant, when you charge for water - you inform your customer that you charge for it and you bring the bottle in the table. We derinitely got scammed by this restaurant, so BEWARE.

Never eaten such a disgusting babi pangang before, I called and 5 minutes later it was at the door! Reheated crap tough meat. And that for 23 euros! Never again!

First of all, the dishes were very tasty; we ate everything and loved it. Moreover, the staff indicated on their own that the chicken was halal, which shows how much value they attach to their customers. 👏🏻The dessert we tried on recommendation (fried banana split) was also very tasty. 🤗 The employee, who we believe is the owner, was extremely attentive. 😇 We would like to thank him extra for this. Although it’s not typical Chinese foods but taste good. Air quality in the restaurant is not very good.

One of the best restaurants i’ve been to in a while. We were seated very fast and got a free snack while waiting. Service was fast and attentive. Food was very good and the big menu certainly helps. When we had leftovers they were happy to box it up and give it take away. No complaints!

Eating here was not worth the money, food was expensive for what you got. Got stomach ache and nausea after eating and the symptoms also persisted. All in all not recommended.

Unfortunately, the prices on the menu in front of the restaurant do not match the prices on the menu in the restaurant. Paid a lot more! The beer is on the outside for 2.95, on the menu for 4.20 and we paid 4.50. Impudence! We won't be coming back again.

We were a party of 6 including kids and a vegetarian. The experience was fantastic - there were so many options for everyone and the food was lovely. The service went above and beyond our expectations and we were all really well cared for. The venue itself is also really nice with some fun Chinese decor. The meal was really good value for money with very generous servings.

First day on our travels to Amsterdam and after a very stressful day we found this delightful little Chinese restaurant. Food is fantastic, the staff are so welcoming, kind and funny and the atmosphere is so nostalgic and cozy. What can I say... after tasted so many asian food around the globe, I found this restaurant is the best in serving chinese food with so many variety menu you can choose. And when what I ordered being served... wow they came in large portions! Really worth your Euros here! We really appreciate the owner also who was so helpful and friendly and he asked me wether I like my food more spicy and he served me the spiciest vermicelli beef which I loved so much! One more thing, as I come from Indonesia, I found the "pisang goreng" (fried banana) on their menu and tried it as our dessert. Just a little tip : the fried banana was less crispy to my taste, guess it should've cooked just a little bit longer. Perfecto!

The spring roll was floating in the fat. Bean sprouts not cleaned properly. There were many green caps in the spring roll. Only bean sprouts. No other vegetables but filled with scrambled eggs? And lots of big hunks of ham. Tasteless and thrown away.

- Tomato soup (you would think a classic, right?) has surprise ingredients: noodles and chicken! Terrible taste, could not eat. - Szechuan Beef - stinks of chicken, for some reason. Absolutely inedible. I think the worst tasting food I have tried in my life.

A Chinese restaurant in a residential area, close to the train station. It tastes really good, and the boss arranges every dish very thoughtfully. The environment is also clean, even the place mats are from Dream of Red Mansions. The fried noodles are particularly delicious and are of a very high standard in China. The price is also reasonable. Five-star praise.

We found this place close to our accommodations at Urban lodge. Ultimately we all decided ( 4 of us) that this is the best Chinese food we have had. I would say we have a good amount of experience coming from Canada and nothing back home or over here has compared. Add in the incredible service and friendly staff I truly hope more people will check this place out for themselves. Wish we could convince them to come home to Canada with us!

Calm and so nice. The food is good for a pretty good price ( the price outside is different if you eat inside, but the difference is acceptable). The service is very, very, very nice. We are tourist and were very surprised to be welcomed with a good English. Would 100% recommend. The amount of food is HUGE. Definitely a must 👌.

As a Taiwanese people, I am shocked for the traditional chinese word in the menu. The 宮保雞丁 is good, i think it is not spicy enough, but I know it is made for local flavor. The 麻婆豆腐 is weird because it seems like no 豆瓣醬 anymore, it tastes like a 紅燒豆腐

Best Spring Roll I've ever eaten!

I was very disappointed. I ate there ipkerry today, the menu said that my order was €17.50. After eating I had to pay a lot more because with every Chinese soy sauce on Tafelstaat&Sambal this is always included in the price. I was really amazed that I had to pay for the had to pay for soy sauce, thought it was strange, didn't enter into a discussion, just never come again, very disappointed, chicken was also strangely not cut well, thought it was not good for so much money.

Good food . Too much was obtained and it was still fine the next day. Receive a bag of old tough prawn crackers for free. Don't do it anymore costs one star. The spring roll could also use a little more chicken.

Heerlijk gegeten. De bediening was erg goed en leuk.

Via thuisbezorgd eten besteld hier. De Nasi zat maar heel weinig extra door de rijst heen. Ook vind ik het jammer dat er al jaren geen gebakken ei en dat rode stuk vlees erboven op ligt. De babi kepjap vond ik iets te taai vlees en de kroepoek lag volgens mij al 3 dagen daar. Was helemaal zacht. Zeer grote teleurstelling. Hoorde er goede dingen over maar niet waargemaakt

Erg lekker gegeten in dit klassieke Chin. Ind. restaurant met fijn interieur en idem bediening. Aanrader!
