Amazing Turkish restaurant with delicious food and outstanding service. Everything was excellent, but I especially want to mention the dessert Kazandibi. It was absolutely incredible! As a chef, I have tasted countless desserts throughout my career, and honestly, I have never had a Kazandibi this good. It was perfectly made and unforgettable. I absolutely do not recommend it. From the moment I arrived, the staff's attitude was extremely rude and disrespectful. They definitely don't know how to talk to customers. When asked questions, they give dismissive and condescending answers, making people uncomfortable instead of helping. It was truly surprising to have such a bad customer experience. The business needs to teach its employees to treat people respectfully first. I will never choose this place again. You don't talk to customers like that, 1 basket of bread for 10 people????? It's also not normal for employees to argue in front of customers. So I give it a full 0.

I took my guests there for a job interview. It was our first time. The portions are small, and the prices are high. While we waited for our order, we didn't get the small appetizers or complimentary starters that are standard in Turkish restaurants. The head waiter seemed to attend to us, but he wasn't very attentive; we asked for tea but it didn't come. The restaurant was also empty, not crowded. I wasn't satisfied, I won't go again, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

They used to have delicious yaprakdoner sandwiches and yaprakdoner kapsalon. Since 2022, the new owner wanted so badly to turn it into a restaurant as if there wasn't a single other Turkish restaurant in Slotermeer.

Unfortunately, the service was substandard. The waiter came across as unfriendly during the ordering process and appeared irritated. While ordering, we were asked if we wanted anything to drink. When we indicated that this was not necessary at the moment, he reacted visibly irritated. After the meal, we went to the restroom to wash our hands, and the same waiter walked us briefly towards the toilet area. This came across as somewhat awkward. The food was average and the portions were on the small side.

The spread breakfast is wonderful. I go there for breakfast every time I visit, and honestly, I go there for lunch too, unless it's something special. The sausage and egg dish was very good. The menemen (Turkish scrambled eggs) was also fantastic, and the thermos of tea was enough for 5 people. The tahini and molasses ratio was well-balanced, and the cheeses were quite good. For dinner, we went to another fancy place, but we weren't completely full, nor did we enjoy anything, and it was expensive. When we left, everyone said, "We wish we had gone to Göreme Restaurant for dinner too."

The food was fine, but the price of the mezeler was really ridiculous for what you get. They brought 3 types of mezeler and 3 small side dishes all at once, but it was all just a tiny portion. Moreover, everything was simply charged separately. €6.95 for one meze?! That really should be indicated more clearly, and for that price, as far as I'm concerned, you could serve bread with it too… The servers, on the other hand, were nice; I have no complaints there. The food was also served quickly, which is a plus.

The atmosphere is good, the service is fast, but the meat was Michelin Cross Climate Level dry. I also got salmonella from the chicken fillet, which gave me terrible stomach cramps the next day. Such a shame.

Unfortunately, my visit to this Turkish restaurant was anything but successful. The service was disinterested and took ages, even though it wasn't even busy. The mixed grill, which I had been looking forward to, was a major disappointment. The meat was dry, tough, and clearly overcooked. Some pieces were even lukewarm instead of hot. The seasoning was almost entirely absent, making everything taste bland.

Their breakfast and dinner were very, very good. The breakfast, "serpme kahvaltı," was very reasonably priced at €35 for two adults, and our children (4-8 years old) ate free. The meal was very well prepared (a plate of rice, salad, vegetables, and chicken wings for €22); it was truly a pleasure to eat there. The only slight drawback: the staff could be more cheerful (they are kind), but not overly friendly. Otherwise, nothing to complain about.

But good as food should be: consistent, pure, no-frills, and no excuses. Believe me, I've had many. Too many. At Göreme, it never changes, and that's perhaps the greatest compliment you can give a restaurant. Everything is perfect. Literally everything. The meat is fresh—not just fresh, but fresh to the taste. The vegetables have a story to tell. The kitchen is clean—not kitchen-clean, but hospital-clean. The staff isn't friendly because they have to be, but because they should be. The owners aren't entrepreneurs, but guardians of something bigger than themselves. This is Turkish hospitality without theatrics. Without a raised voice. Without an Instagram shout. Here, they cook with love for Turkish cuisine, not for likes. And then there's that chicken soup. Always order it. In advance. Without hesitation. It's not soup, it's a comfort. A reminder of how food can hold you without claiming you. Clear, deep, and warm, as if someone is saying: sit down, you're safe. Göreme isn't a restaurant you talk about because it's trendy. You talk about it because you miss it when you haven't been there in too long. And just as Göreme in Kapadokya isn't a tourist gimmick but a place where people live, work, and cook, Restaurant Göreme on Burgemeester Vlugtlaan isn't a concept but a promise. A promise that is kept every single day. Without fuss. Without change. Without compromise. Perhaps that is the highest form of civilization.

I honestly don’t believe the ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ratings at all. Last week we came from Germany to Amsterdam for vacation. We had Adana kebab for dinner and it was a big disappointment. The kebab was dry, hard, almost like a rock. No tail fat at all, zero real Adana flavor. Not filling, not worth the money. Portions on the side were very poor. Service was terrible. You ask the waiter something and they don’t even look at you. Calling a waiter feels like you’re bothering them. The place is also not comfortable or spacious. We ordered tea and they even charged for it. What came was not tea, just colorless, tasteless hot water. Around the same area, especially near Plein 40-45, I’ve had much better kebabs. The difference is huge. I will never come back. Definitely not recommended. If I could, I’d give 0 stars. My advice: urgently find a real kebab master who actually knows how to make kebab, or change your chef or recipe 😅

My boyfriend had the chicken pasta and he was very happy with it as well. The atmosphere is very pleasant and cozy, making it a nice place to enjoy a meal. The only small downside was the service after we finished eating: the empty plates stayed on our table for quite a long time, even though the restaurant was almost empty at the time. Overall, great food and a lovely place. With a bit more attention to clearing tables, it would be perfect. Definitely worth visiting
