We went here for dinner. For the price you pay, it wasn't anything special. Especially considering the ambiance and the space. The food was saltier than expected. After getting home, I drank a whole bottle of water, even though I never drink much. And certainly not a liter of water. We had a mini bowl of red cabbage, spinach, about 12 diced potatoes, and 12 fries for four people. That's okay because the schnitzels we ordered were large, but then I wonder how little someone who's alone gets, or do they get the same amount? You certainly don't get your 200 grams of vegetables. And 2.25 for mayonnaise. You buy a whole jar for that. You do get such a large container of mayonnaise that you can completely cover those few fries with mayonnaise twice. Pretty ridiculous. What do they do with the leftover mayonnaise? I assume they throw it away. With that amount, I understand they can justify 2.25, but what a waste.

The Russian driver commenting below says that countries like France and Germany offer shower services, but the Netherlands doesn't offer this service. He says to stay in paid parking lots. I'll upload here 10 km away. Write the nearest paid parking lot on Monday and let's see how far it is. People with an IQ level shouldn't be drivers.

The driver's menu was €25.00, excellent value for money, the shower was very spacious and comfortable, and I personally found the bottle of Hertog Jan beer €4.50 rather expensive. The menu plus four beers was €44.00. If the bottle were €3.50, you'd be close to five stars. The atmosphere might have had something to do with my fellow diners being tired after their hard day's work.

This week, six people ate here. The food was delicious, nothing to complain about. However, the service was a bit lacking. There were only two staff members in the restaurant for about 12 to 15 occupied tables. This meant the wait time to order was very long. We spent over an hour and a half, including our food (main courses only), which is quite long for a roadside restaurant. I can imagine there might be staffing issues, but in that case, you'd have to find another solution. Again, the food was good, but the rest left much to be desired.

A very good experience. Friendly service and the quality of the food was excellent! We will definitely be back; the Goudreinet is highly recommended! Today, Saturday, February 11, 2023, we had another delicious meal, and the service was very friendly and hospitable. We had a delicious apple struddel for dessert!

A short stopover on our way to Amsterdam. Restrooms relatively clean, access via a turnstile. Currently €1 - card payment only! Snacks and drinks, as well as other items, are available. Everything you'd expect from a gas station besides fuel. The outside area was quite well maintained. Ample parking available.

Nice, large restaurant with ample parking. Extensive menu with plenty of choices. I ordered a Russian salad as a starter and the XL schnitzel for the main course. Both were very tasty. For dessert, I had a small ice cream sundae. It's great that you can also order a small dessert. My partner had the beef stew, which was a bit dry, but with the sauce and everything else that came with it, it tasted great.

When I ask twice about a burger, I need a burger, not a restaurant brochure.

Drove here again for breakfast, arrived pretty late at 10:30, but hey, I thought I'd give them some time to wake up. I got the message again that there's no one in the kitchen to make an omelet, hahahaha, hopeless. Just adjust your opening hours if you can't make it.

We didn't get around to eating. I entered with my wife and three dachshunds and saw a table for four in a secluded corner that was just being cleared. Since that's a nicer place to eat with the dogs, I wanted to sit there. But the curt manager wouldn't let me. We were told to sit at a table for two in the open space and nowhere else. We sat down, a little bewildered, but by the time I turned around to order a drink, the lady had already vanished. Taking drinks orders was beneath her dignity. "Good luck with that, I'll spend my money elsewhere," she said. The food was delicious elsewhere.

The food was delicious, although the farmer's chicken schnitzel was served in a bowl of tomato soup. Unfortunately, this wasn't listed on the menu, even though the sauce was mentioned with several dishes, so I wasn't prepared for it. A slight disappointment (because I don't like tomatoes), but despite that, the chicken schnitzel was excellent. The carpaccio appetizer was also delicious! The atmosphere was good, and the service from the staff was superb. Very friendly, helpful, and incredibly polite. I'll definitely be back!!!!!! Only then will I go for the cordon bleu (in cheese sauce). The price is also great!

Delicious food for little money. Schnitzels galore.

Ordered white bread with (grandma's) meatball/artisanal/mayonnaise. Not a single artisanal piece to be found. Grandma's meatball was a canned meatball with a sachet of Remia mayonnaise. The bread was stale. The tomato and cucumber were too. I mentioned this, but nothing was done about it. Not worth repeating.

The restaurant and terrace look very dated. Outside, the roof eaves are in need of maintenance. Overall impression: very uninviting.

We had to wait over an hour for our starter, which the kitchen had forgotten. We were immediately served a main course, and we explained that we hadn't received one yet. It arrived fifteen minutes later, and after we'd finished it, the main course arrived within five minutes. It was clearly visible that it had been under a warming lamp the entire time and had completely cooled down. We refused and left, once and for all!

It's always a sense of homecoming when we cross into the Netherlands from this side. We arrived in time for a (late) lunch and were well served by the efficient and friendly waitress.

Are very satisfied and friendly staff

We went for lunch on Monday, July 21st, and had to wait a very long time for our food. We ordered a meatball with fries, which was cold. My daughter ordered a "vonkie" (a type of "sparkie"), which wasn't even warm anymore. According to the menu, it should have pineapple, but it wasn't. When we mentioned it, we were told it wasn't possible with the current staff. NEVER AGAIN.

A pleasant and friendly roadside restaurant, where you can choose from an extensive and familiar Schnitzel menu – and much more. Side dishes are served, including delicious vegetables (kohlrabies in cheese sauce). Recommended for those traveling in/through the Betuwe region, from North to South, or from East to West (A15 / A50). A tip + a critical point: - Tip: serve a bowl of raw vegetables alongside the warm vegetables. It can be simple, but it's deliciously fresh and adds something special. - Critical point: mayonnaise isn't served free, which isn't a problem – but here they charge €2.65 for it. Bizarre! And then it's an amount you simply can't eat. A blatant profit model. I'd say, serve a small portion and just charge €1.

Drove all the way here from Nijmegen for breakfast. I arrived at 10:00 AM, assuming I could order an "uitsmijter" (fried eggs) as usual, since they open at 9:30 AM on Fridays. To my surprise, I was told they couldn't order an "uitsmijter" until 11:30 AM. How can you tell them you're open at 9:30 AM? If a gas station opens at 8:00 AM and you can't fill up until 9:00 AM, you'd be surprised, wouldn't you? I come here regularly, and the restaurant is always full of flies, which isn't very fresh.

Disappointing experience at Goudreinet – not a second time for us On Ascension Day we decided to end our holiday with a meal at Goudreinet in Kesteren. The welcome was friendly and the drinks were on the table very quickly – a good start. Unfortunately, things went wrong after that. After taking our order, we had to wait over an hour before the main course was served. To our surprise, we were only served the meat. The fries and vegetables that were listed as a side dish did not arrive. Only after asking were these brought – at that point we had already eaten most of the meat. The fries were meager – if we each had ten fries, that is a lot. The "vegetables" consisted of a scoop of spinach that not only looked unattractive, but also seemed to have been under a hotplate for too long. The top was dried out, and the whole thing was tasteless. The service itself was correct and friendly. The staff is clearly doing their best and is running fast, but unfortunately that does not make up for the kitchen experience. For us it is clear: this was the first and last time at Goudreinet. In the vicinity of Kesteren there are enough restaurants where you can eat much better for the same price, both in terms of quality and presentation.

Excellent parking for trucks. It fills up quickly and our colleagues from RO park however and wherever they want, and because of them it can be difficult to drive through the parking lot. I can’t say anything about the cafe, I haven’t been there. But colleagues who lowered the rating because you weren’t allowed to take a shower, you are absolutely wrong. You write that you stood there for 45-50-60 hours and weren’t allowed to wash. Ask this question to your management, which saves on you and doesn’t provide you with a good rest with infrastructure on the weekend. I’m not even talking about the hotel that every driver is entitled to, but at least paid parking, of which there are enough all over Holland. And the management of the establishment is not obliged to let you take a shower, since it is private property. Colleagues, value yourself first and work for good employers who will also value you and provide you with comfort on the weekend. And don’t whine in reviews and minivans when you go to work

We had coffee and apple pie here last week and it was great. Coffee is good and the apple pie is very tasty. Inside it is very cold and boring.

This restaurant is our favorite when we drive home on the A15. If this happens in the evening, we usually go here for a bite to eat. The food is good. The staff is friendly. As a small point for improvement, I would update the menu. The same vegetables every time gets boring.

We come here every week. Really tasty food . I always take medium fillet steak with mushroom sauce. You also get plenty of vegetables and baked potatoes. I only miss the vegetable soup that I have been eating there for 30 years.

Update 2024: Still delicious food and good, attentive service. The dishes tasted good again and we are still fans of the spinach a la crème that is served as 1 of the 2 types of vegetables. Spontaneously stopped for a bite to eat. Upon arrival, we were well received by a host and led to a large table where more people sat who had not reserved. Very smart and also practical! We didn't look at each other's plates. It was extremely busy, and yet the staff was able to manage the tables by communicating well with each other. Ordered drinks and main courses together and the latter came really quickly. Many types of garnish included with free refill if desired. Schnitzels were very popular and the spareribs also tasted very good! The dessert menu mainly consisted of coupes. And the portion was just right. I must say: quality was above expectations for a Goudreinet branch. The service was top notch and responsive. The layout of the restaurant was such that it gave a living room feeling. All in all: good idea to stop here on the way home. And it's nice that the host wished us a nice trip! Small detail, but gives good customer experience!

On the way home after a wonderful stay in Sauerland, we wanted to eat something in the middle of the afternoon. An older grumpy lady took our order. The cutlery was thrown on the table and the drinks were delivered promptly by a nice younger waitress. The sandwiches we ordered were not yet on the table after 25 minutes. The lady simply had not passed our order on to the kitchen. Apparently the lady didn't feel like it. My wife paid for the drinks I consumed, I was already standing outside! This restaurant should close, it offers no added value!

Had a cup of coffee. It was very dark, we thought the restaurant was closed. The operation can also be too fast. We received a friendly welcome, but before we were seated we were asked what we wanted to drink. Perhaps offer a map in advance? Only a wine list available at the table. We might want something with coffee, but that doesn't happen. They charge one euro for going to the toilet. That's a lot, especially for a toilet where the floor is sticky. I won't be stopping there again anytime soon when I'm on the road. A little more attention can help with turnover. Or you have to earn enough from using the toilet. But given the silence in the restaurant I don't think so.. The coffee was okay, nothing special with a cheap pre-packed mass biscuit.
