Een lunch genomen bij dit restaurant. Ik had een hamburger besteld incl frites. Echter de frites bestond helaas uit meer gruis dan frites. De bediening daarover aangesproken' Haar antwoord was dat er eenmaal wat gruis erbij zit maar dat het bij wel meer is. Jammer dan heeft U pech zei ze en ik geeft het door aan de kok. Daar schiet ik dus niet mee op. De volgende keer maar een ander terras nemen.

Dit is een geweldige plek! Zeker aan te raden! Het personeel is heel vriendelijk en het eten is geweldig. Ik heb de kaassoep op. Het klinkt een beetje gek maar het was heel lekker! Ook het broodje Griekse kip was fantastisch. De groente was heel lekker, en de kip ook. Het was best rustig en we hebben er lekker gegeten!

Waiters seem stressed or not happy with their lives, food was okay but you gotta ask for a simple thing for at least three times to get it done. I hope our experience was bad just because of the short staff so management can take care of that to make it better for future visitors but we are not coming back for sure. Also have to mention that the the environment was pretty cold temperature wise.

We wanted to eat something small there, but since it was after 17.00 only the big card was available. Could not even order Krokettes...but staff was friendly.

Stopped by twice. The first time, we had coffee/tea and cake. The coffee/tea was served with a small syrup waffle (“stroopwafel”). Very tasty. The cakes were by Dudok. Also, very tasty. We ordered the apple pie, lemon merengue pie and cheesecake. The cheesecake had been decorated with bits of syrup and waffle. It was a warm day and the cakes had not been kept in the fridge. As a result, the cheesecake had started melting. And, the merengue had gone so soft that it slid off the lemon pie. The second time, we had lunch. We ordered a soup and a sandwich. I very much enjoyed their special “Gouda” cheese soup. It reminded me of cheese fondue. I also very much enjoyed their carpaccio sandwich. The carpaccio was served on sliced bread. My mum ordered the chicken sandwich, which was served on an Italian-style bread roll. She expected the chicken to be warm, but it was cold. Her sandwich also had grilled veggies, which were also cold. Service could have been better. The male host was friendly and helpful, but the female hostess was a little condescending. In addition, the servers were a bit slow with taking our order and bringing our bill.

We visited for coffee & Dutch applecake. Our coffee came out luke warm even though it was ordered 'extra hot', however, this was quickly rectified but not without the waitress plonking the new coffees on the table whilst presenting a face like a slapped ass. Another waitress came along to check on us, who was lovely & friendly. The replacement coffee was good & with nice mini struuplswaffens. The applecake was lovely too. Gouds Glas has a beautifully modern yet stylish interior whilst comfortable, they have spent a considerable amount on pleasing their customers' comfort, even providing heated cushions on exterior seating. The waitress with the face like a slapped ass, redeemed herself politely & with a smile as we left .. that could be taken two ways, but I shall air on the positive & have rated our experience higher than I had originally intended too given our earlier interaction 😊

Excessive waiting time for a very simple lunch, more than an hour for two soups and two fries...The food is correct, but with 3 errors in a very simple table for 4. That is not professional. An apologies could make better, but not, that is. I think that can be much more professional if they said that are full, than offer a bad service.

A day of shopping in Gouda brought us to the attractive terrace of Gouds Glas on the market. We enjoyed the view with a nice cup of coffee, carrot and apple pie. The enthusiastic owner proudly told us about his beautiful business. In the afternoon we wanted to have tea on the same terrace. To our surprise, the seats were heated and we found a lovely (warm) spot again. Unfortunately, the ginger tea was disappointing: it only contained peels of the ginger root and this had to be picked out before a sip of the tea could be taken. The bartender did not really take this complaint seriously and responded somewhat nonchalantly. The latter ensured the 4 stars.

Aangekomen werden wij hartelijk ontvangen. Vervolgens een lunch besteld. Het was vanwege drukte even wachten maar dat was het waard.

Er stond één veganistisch menu op de kaart, een salade. Dus geen andere veganistische keus. Voor 21,90 euro. Voor die prijs verwacht je van een salade een culinair hoogstandje. Maar het was beneden alle peil. Een zak gemengde sla opengetrokken, een paar oude dadels en een paar hele kleine paddenstoeltjes erdoor en een fles zoetzure dressing eroverheen uitgeknepen. Een klein bakje slappe patat moesten we er voor 4,95 euro bij bestellen. Wel vriendelijke serveerster die van de baas gratis koffie mocht schenken ter compensatie. Daar hadden we geen zin meer in. Vooruit, toen een bakje slappe patat gratis gekregen. Voor vegetariers was er overigens een risotto te bestellen, ook geen andere keus

We had a two-course lunch here, scored with a Social Deal, on February 21, a really spring-like day. The terrace was well stocked, the staff was friendly and the cheese soup was excellent.

First waited an hour for a cup of coffee and tea!! After we had indicated that we did not want any more, we were given the excuse that there was a wedding indoors, along with the offer that we did not have to pay for the coffee when we stayed for lunch (the kitchen would be faster than the bar). Too large a terrace opened for too few staff. Ultimately, we ordered a haloumi sandwich with avocado, which had greasy haloumi but no green avocado to be seen, and we were served our 'free' coffee and tea after 45 minutes after ordering. We will skip this terrace for the time being

Ate here last night; it was cold there (several people around us were wearing coats or scarves inside). The evening started with a list of everything they no longer had. We got the first drink after 50 minutes (forgot to tell us). Forgot to pass on the second drink again, when we asked, the wrong drink was brought. After reporting this, it took a long time for the right drink to arrive (it was busy at the bar). You also had to ask for the fries and they only came halfway through the main course. The food was good but not exceptional. The mistake with the second drink was made up for by taking it off the bill. All in all not recommended.

Bezocht via Social Deal. Een mooie aanbieding 4 gangen voor €30,50, terwijl "Heerlijk"voor dezelfde aanbieding €40 rekende. Een groot restaurant, dat het in eerste instantie van zijn verwarmde terras moet hebben, maar dat er binnen, ondanks de lange pijpenla goed ingericht was. Vriendelijke bediening, het eten was ruim voldoende, maar het gevoel van eetcafé bleef wat hangen. Vooraf tonijn tataki: prima, een klein soepje, smakelijk, maar op de kaart opgevoerd voor €8,90 en dat was ie absoluut niet waard. MET €10 bijbetaling een prima Chateaubriand, maar aangeleverd in een gietijzeren pan met 2 sausjes in plastic cupjes en veel aangebrande groentemengsel een klein bakje friet ernaast, dessert was prima.Diverse losse wijnen,maar werden niet aan tafel uitgeschonken, zodat we er maar op moesten vertrouwen, dat de juiste wijn in het glas zat. Kort, maar goed: het zag er allemaal net iets te formule-matig uit en dat was wat jammer, gezien de a la carte prijzen op de menukaart.

Eigenaar Joost is een echte gastheer!, echter is hij ook weleens niet aanwezig. Dat resulteert in ongeïnteresseerd en niet vriendelijk personeel. Kletsen met elkaar en toen ik wilde afrekenen aan de bar negeerde ze me gewoon. Verder prima koffie en thee.. dat dan wel. Tip: alleen gaan als Joost er is, dat maakt de ervaring een stuk beter.

We hebben hier met Social Deal gegeten. We konden kiezen uit de hele kaart. Voor- en hoofdgerechten waren erg lekker. Nagerechten waren erg machtig. Borden mooi opgemaakt. Alle complimenten voor de bediening! Heel attent, professioneel en gezellig.

Food is good and service is nice, but beware that they sell extremely cheap beer (like the kind you can buy from the Aldi - Steenbrugge and Brugge tripel) for exorbitant prices (€7.20!). I think that's a bit deceptive.

It was fine, it's a pity that we couldn't indicate anywhere that we wanted to take advantage of the 2nd half price offer with our card, that was a point of discussion. That gave us an unpleasant feeling but did not detract from the rest.

Huge cozy restaurant with a view of the town hall and the market on Saturdays. Delicious cheese soup with salmon. I accidentally knocked over my coffee and was spontaneously given another one without further comment while the table was being cleaned. Great service!

Overall, the rating is only for the beautiful decor. The atmosphere consists of beauty, delicious food and service - none of which I received with my family in this establishment. We came with the children, we were freezing, and we wanted to have a tasty meal. We were transferred several times, and were not warned that not everything on the menu was available (we would have immediately chosen another establishment!), They were not warned that they were having an event and we had limited time - but first they brought our order and three minutes later they said that we need to either LEAVE or sit outside with two small children. The waiters did not help reschedule the order, all the tables outside were occupied, and those that remained free were not heated, it was terribly cold. One star is too much for such an experience.

Starter really was not edible for the second time, main course was okay but not really warm. Plates were not suitable for the very hot dish itself. Went there yesterday evening and left terribly disappointed. 1. My wife and I ordered the Chef's Menu, but they (a restaurant with seating for 200 persons) only had 1 serving left. (I would expect the chef to start providing options when there are 10 or less servings left). 2. When ordering our after dinner coffee and dessert (a decaf Latte Macchiato and a Dame Blanche ice cream) it took 25 minutes to reach our table. - You'd think it would take 5 minutes to prepare, no more. 3. When serving the coffee and dessert, one waitress was giving the coffee to my wife. The 2nd waitress, holding the dessert, was apparently eager to end her shift, as she threw (I realise the word is excessive, as the bowl it was served in, only travelled 1cm through the air and slid another 2cm's on the table) under the arm of the 1st waitress. Could she not have waited 5 seconds before giving me my dessert properly? I see some promises in comments below to improve the situation others complained about, but unfortunately it does not seem to materialise. Such poor service wasn't expected. Sorry, but Gouds Glas will not see us again.

Mooi glanzend ingericht restaurant waar je prettig en snel wordt geholpen. Leuke menukaart waarvan wij de specialiteit van het huis hebben gegeten. Kaaskroket, kaasbrood en kaassoep. Alle gerechten gezellig op een plank opgediend en voortreffelijk van smaak.

Not much to say, the experience was disastrous, they were not able to give us a solution with a disabled person we were traveling with, to be able to include her in the large group we had.

Ik ben ontzettend teleurgesteld in mijn ervaring tijdens het diner. Gezien de hoge prijzen had ik op zijn minst een zekere kwaliteit verwacht. Een eenvoudige Wiener schnitzel voor €26,- is al behoorlijk prijzig, maar om vervolgens de bijgerechten niet mee te leveren en voor een extra bijgerecht ook nog eens extra te rekenen, is echt ongehoord. Daarnaast duurde het bijna een uur voordat we ons eten ontvingen. Toen het eindelijk werd geserveerd, voldeed het niet aan onze verwachtingen. Toen we dit aangaven bij de bediening, werd er wel geluisterd, maar er werd verder niets mee gedaan – geen excuses, geen compensatie, helemaal niets. Dit was echt een teleurstelling. Voor het geld dat ik hier heb uitgegeven, had ik veel meer verwacht. Ik ga hier dan ook met alle waarschijnlijkheid nooit meer terug.

We thought we would have a delicious lunch on a busy Tuesday during the autumn holidays! Unfortunately this did not work out with the Goudse Glass! the large terrace was full, so it could take a little longer, we had prepared ourselves for this. first a drink and then immediately placed our order, an avocado/chicken sandwich and a rib-eye sandwich. After an hour nothing, waiter went to ask. but this service also came to an end, nothing more was heard, e.g. something went wrong, order did not go through, we are working on it, etc. Keep your guests informed if things go wrong, so they will understand! Around us we saw people coming, eating, drinking and leaving. After another drink and another 1.5 hours we paid and left. waiter could only say a soft "sorry". nothing more. Too bad, but never again

Had dinner here on the terrace last Friday evening. Atmosphere was cozy and inside the restaurant looks very nice. Food was disappointing. I had sashimi as a starter, which was tasty but a bit on the small side for 14.50. Some specialty beers on the menu cost over 7 euros, absurdly expensive! The main course was very disappointing. We had over 100 euros worth of meat on the table, but that was really not reflected on the plates (there were 3 people). It came with 1 container and a thimble of mayonnaise, for that money and for 3 people?! The vegetables present were also really negligible. Shame, the restaurant was way too expensive and we had to eat a sandwich at home even though we had paid 200 euros! We won't do that again!

Just had a quick coffee as I was visiting the city. The waiter was very pushy otherwise everything was okay. The coffee tasted very good. It was a bit more expensive but it is also a pedestrian zone.

Sep, 2024 - With the Social Deal package (lowest discount), what we ordered (cheese soup and salmon salad sandwich and Flammkuchen with salmon and a drink) was exactly the right price/quality ratio. The soup was really delicious and Flammkuchen excellent, the lettuce with the salmon roll was a lot and dry, but they would change that immediately. The outdoor terrace is nice diagonally behind the town hall. Inside you will be amazed. Beautifully decorated restaurant, beautiful kitchen that you can look into and even the toilet room is really nice. Large groups can go here. The package also included a city tour of approximately 1.5 hours and is highly recommended. Narrow alleys and many monumental houses, facades and ships in the harbor are a feast for the eyes.

The atmosphere and service are both good. Unfortunately, we expected more from the food. Some main courses (ultimately 4 pieces) were no longer available. This is disappointing. Furthermore, the menu indicated a sorbet ice cream with lots of fresh fruit. However, the portion contained a lot of fresh fruit, 2 blueberries and 1 raspberry.

I wanted a light dinner and a glass of wine. This was close to where I was staying and looked good. Server 1 came before I had closed the menu. I knew what I wanted. I ordered the vegetable soup, which came with bread and a glass of wine. That was just the perfect amount of food for me. It was 16 Euros. The soup came quickly, so did the wine but not the bread. When server 2 came to check on me, I was happy but my bread didn’t come. She requested it to my table via her electronic device. When she came back to see if I’d gotten it, I hadn’t and so she requested it again. It did not come. About 20 minutes later, I asked for the bill. I explained calmly that all was good except my bread hadn’t come and I was really expecting it. Had I known I would have ordered something else for my meal. She didn’t really react so I suggested they really should change the menu if they are not serving it. As a side note, you could order bread separately so I know they had some. In any case, there was no empathy. She didn’t care. Honestly, I’m a bit overweight and have been cutting calories and I didn’t eat much all day as I was saving my calories for this treat. The soup along wasn’t enough and I’m a bit grumpy. I will survive and it will probably be good for me to do without it. I’m really annoyed though that it was on the menu, the server confirmed this and asked for it twice and still, I paid for my full dinner without getting it. Sincerely, Hungry and grumpy Jo PS. What a BAD thing. Come in. No one (staff) looks up or around. We went looking for an empty table since we were invisible. No one came to help us. Finally I got up and walked away. We had the mixed grill as main, which consisted of 2 small pieces of chicken fillet, 3 pieces of meat, 2 bites of sausage and 2 small lamb chops. But you paid €33.40 per person for that... very little for the price. If you eat here you have to take it alone, but for 2 people you can probably pay €66.80

Had a drink on the terrace on Saturday afternoon. The gentleman who brings people in is doing a good job. Girls in the service could be a bit more active. Had to wait quite a while before order was taken. Quality is really good. So worth the wait.

The low point of a day in Gouda. We were pulled approximately onto the terrace. Then we didn't sit comfortably, didn't eat well and had to wait a very long time to pay.

We were greeted with grace by the host of the restaurant. The waiters were very friendly and caring. But we were a bit disappointed by the food amounts. We really wanted to like it, because the taste was gread. Sorry , but we bought a mixed grill for two people, and one mixed grill for one person, I was waiting 30 minutes for them to bring us the second plate, But there was no second plate. That was it!!!!

We went here today around 17:00 pm, which may have been our mistake because of the dinner rush. I’ve been here before, midday in December on a workday, and loved the experience a lot. But this time, staff were very rude to us. We were assigned a table outside, then we went inside to look at the colored wall reliefs, leaving our stuff at our table and when we came back we were told to leave our table and go to another one because some new clients who just came in (!) decided they wanted our table. After this, we were given a worse table (uneven, wobbly) and so we decided to just leave and go elsewhere. I don’t know why the staff here prefer some clients over others and on what basis they do this but for this reason I can’t comment on their food or portions, which were both lovely in December last year. Anyways, there are tons of other restaurants on the plaza in Gouda so just choose another one if they treat you like this as well!

Eine äußerst unfreundliche weibliche Bedienung, die den Aufenthalt in Gouda sehr trübte. Das Essen war zwar gut, aber wir empfehlen dringend, alternative Restaurants aufzusuchen, wo man ebenfalls gut speisen kann. Lasst euch eure Laune und Freude nicht verderben!

Heerlijk geluncht waarbij opgemerkt moet worden dat één van ons coeliaki (glutenallergie) heeft hetgeen in dit restaurant geen probleem was.

Food was good. We had a 3-course dinner via SocialDeal. As a starter I had Gouda Cheese Soup. The wiener schnitzel for the main course and the tiramisu for dessert. The cheese soup was tasty. The schnitzel was not perfect. The breaded part fell off. Furthermore, it was also tough meat. The tiramisu was also very disappointing. It was mainly a lot of whipped cream. Furthermore, it is a nice and cozy place in terms of atmosphere and service! Definitely worth a drink!

The food wasn't very good. Fries with the (overpriced) burger are a kind of gray color...unappetizing in any case. The burger itself was just enough. When reporting the above to the "waiter" on duty, I did not receive a really sympathetic response, in short: never again.
