Very friendly staff and the food was delicious too!

High tea for teenagers, what a fun experience! This is not part of the standard offering, but was custom-made and specially put together for them, tailored to their tastes. For instance, they were welcomed with ‘bubbly’ and received two tiered stands full of delicious savory and sweet treats. Superbly arranged and great service! Highly recommended.

We ate here again tonight. We were going to go to another restaurant where things weren't going very well, so we ended up going back to De Heren. They were incredibly busy, but after hearing our story, she said that if you don't mind waiting a bit, you can take a seat here. We had another delicious meal. The biggest lesson we learned... Just stop trying to discover new restaurants and go straight to De Heren.

Our family had an incredibly delicious meal at De Heren van Zeist. With good service, delicious dishes were served repeatedly until we were full. Definitely recommended.

We went to eat here and I would like to share my experience. First of all: the lady who served us at the table was incredibly nice, enthusiastic, and very helpful. A truly lovely woman, and I have nothing but positive things to say about her service. ❤️ For me, the problem lay mainly in the vegan options and the communication regarding them. I had clearly indicated that I eat vegan. The menu features a special vegan section with about eight dishes. Additionally, it was indicated that there would be vegan dishes throughout the menu, including the crostini. This was also recommended to me. While eating, it still didn't feel quite right, so I checked the allergen information. To my surprise, it turned out there was milk in the crostini. I consider that quite an important distinction: vegetarian and vegan are not the same thing. I therefore wonder if vegetarian was perhaps meant instead of vegan. Later, I also suffered quite a bit from stomach upset and spent time on the toilet with cramps and diarrhea. Whether that was caused by the milk, the avocado, or something else? No idea. Therefore, I absolutely do not want to claim that the food was the cause. However, for someone with a milk allergy or intolerance, such a mistake can of course have serious consequences. That is precisely why I believe the information regarding vegan options and allergens needs to be very clear. Fortunately, I personally had mostly a disappointing experience and no severe allergic reaction, but I really hope that this is monitored more closely. Especially when a guest explicitly states they are vegan. Otherwise, the atmosphere and service were pleasant and friendly, but regarding the vegan options and the clarity surrounding them, there is definitely room for improvement in my opinion. And for 172 euros, I found all of this to be on the VERY pricey side!

We were once again wonderfully spoiled by the staff at De Heren van Zeist. There is always a cozy atmosphere. Definitely recommended. Great music, atmospheric lighting, and super tasty food.

The sound was quite loud this evening, but that was due to the Gooische Vrouwen evening. Normally, the sound level is fine.

We celebrated a bachelorette party here with the Gooische Vrouwen bingo night. Fantastic! Nice people, friendly service, great atmosphere. Prizes that make you happy. Delicious cocktails. Absolutely top-notch!

The food was delicious! The staff were often at the tables during the first hour, but after that, it took a long time to order. Eventually, we just walked to the bar ourselves to ask if we could be served, as we weren't the only table. We had to ask twice this evening if we could order something. The food portions are large, so sharing is highly recommended! We will definitely be back.

Unfortunately, everything went wrong. The kitchen couldn't handle it, too many sick staff. Everything ran late. Because of this, the atmosphere deteriorated, as customers started complaining. You had to wait a long time for your food. The food itself is good. The bingo also started later. Unfortunately, a less enjoyable evening than I am used to.

We ate here with my husband and a friend who lives in England. The friend asked if she could take a new coaster for her scrapbook. She was immediately given a whole package of pens, coasters, and napkins. The food was exquisite. Nothing was too much trouble and the service was super friendly. Thanks again for a lovely annual dinner with her at your restaurant. TOP, we enjoyed it!

Very pleasant café. There is an extensive beer menu, including craft beer brewed by the café itself. And it tastes amazing too. The bar snacks are also fine, and there are several vegetarian options. The staff is quick, helpful, and very friendly. Definitely recommended in Zeist.

Five of us attended a Mama Mia dinner show. Initially, we were assigned a drafty spot on the terrace, where the seating was extremely uncomfortable. After persuading the staff, we were fortunately seated inside. The atmosphere was great! However, the food we received was very small for five people. A table of two next to us received the same amount as the five of us. After complaining to the staff, we were later given some extra bowls of food. The same story happened with dessert one course later. We left it at that, but we won't be going back. It's nice for two people, but not for larger groups.

This restaurant is highly recommended! Delicious food, great service, and a cozy atmosphere. The food is beautifully presented, and special dishes are even spectacular! I went there with my family, and all three children loved it. It's definitely worth the price.

Normally, I have a good experience with the Shared Dining concept. But this time, I used the Christmas Gourmet for the first time during Christmas. But it was disappointing. Upon arrival, it was already quite messy/disorganized, no welcome, and tables were still being set/prepared. During the meal, the service was very chaotic. There was insufficient exhaust/ventilation in the restaurant, causing the entire room to fill with smoke. And the clothes and coats had to be sent straight to the dry cleaners. And finally, at checkout, the deposit wasn't deducted. (When I inquired, the staff replied that this was an additional charge.) Yep, that's how it is to easily fill bags. Quite misleading, and in legal terms, they have a different term for this. Not exactly a great example of customer loyalty.

We thought we'd have a nice drink at the Christmas market. After sitting there for half an hour, we were finally helped. Two chocolate milks with whipped cream, served in a paper cup, couldn't even manage a spoonful. We got up and left...

The steak was disappointing: lacking flavor and very soggy. The vegetables were decent. The tempura-battered salmon sauce was good, but couldn't save the dish. The cheese and onion nachos were fine, though the chicken was barely there and consisted of only tiny pieces. Fortunately, the service was good.

The service wasn't very fast, but it was friendly. The food wasn't that good. The prawn crackers were half-cooked, and the sushi and rice weren't fresh. At the end of our meal, we discovered a dead mouse under our table. When the staff heard this, we weren't allowed to say anything and had to be quiet. We asked for compensation for this incident. The owner told us it was normal and that all restaurants had them, and could only offer us a drink on the house. I found it very unprofessional and very arrogant. I strongly advise against this business!!!

We had a lovely meal in a charming setting. It's been a while since we'd been to De Heeren van Zeist. A fun new concept with lots of delicious dishes. The desserts and cocktails were also very good. One minor drawback: the chairs were less comfortable than they looked.

I've heard a lot of good things about the patio. Apparently, it's completely covered if needed, and they have patio heaters everywhere, nice lamps on the tables, a wide selection of drinks and snacks, and very friendly staff. Outside, you can have a wonderful dinner there! 5 BIG stars from me 💪🏻🫶🏻

We had made reservations for a Dutch evening. The atmosphere was fantastic, the service excellent and friendly, but unfortunately, the food was very poor. I don't think they cooked anything themselves; we had mashed potatoes and meatballs, and so on. The dessert was also strange, all from one plate and eaten out of a beer glass. A real shame, otherwise it would have been a great evening. It's also not cheap.

The atmosphere is good and the staff is excellent. The two singers also sang well. The food was poor, except for the appetizer. The main course, in my opinion, wasn't homemade and was so bad I'd fire the chef. Dessert isn't based on the number of people at the table.

Yesterday, November 1, 2025, we went to dinner with friends at the Gentlemen of Zeist. It was a fantastic experience, with delicious food and perfect service. We wanted for nothing. The menu is varied. We opted for a sharing dinner, and that's when it really happens... The wide variety of dishes and the delicious preparation. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly, and the large outdoor terrace was packed even in these temperatures thanks to the use of radiant heaters. Yesterday, the Ladies of Zeist took over the name "Gentlemen of Zeist," and they are every bit as good as the Gentlemen of Zeist... Highly recommended for all ages... top-notch. Definitely worth repeating... Ruud and Maris Elders.

We initially thought it was too cold to sit on the terrace. We deliberately got VIP tickets so we could sit inside.

Last night I went to the Gooische bingo night with my daughters. Unfortunately, we didn't win anything, but the atmosphere, the food, and the service were fantastic! We had a wonderful evening!

The dishes look completely different in the photos on Facebook and the menu. They sprinkle a different type of herb on each dish in abundance. The hygiene is also very poor; the toilet was dirty, as were the chairs. AND NO SOAP IN THE loo! I asked for soap at the bar, but they simply didn't have it... apparently, no one washes their hands there! Tables were cleaned with a dishcloth that looked like it had been used for three weeks.

Went for dinner for the third time last night, and the attention they give my daughters is truly appreciated. And besides, the food and service are excellent.

Today we had a fantastic shared dinner at the super cozy "De Heren van Zeist." A truly large selection of wonderfully fresh dishes (both hot and cold) with many Asian influences. We really enjoyed the Beef Bali, Prawns, Scallops, Yakitori skewers, Sushi, Duck, Dumplings, etc. The staff were also extremely friendly and professional. We will definitely be back.

We had a delicious meal in a very cozy atmosphere. The service was also excellent. The five of us shared a meal; the portions were generous. And there were plenty of options, even for vegetarians.

The service and atmosphere were excellent. For our taste, there were a few too many fried dishes, like dumplings and gyozas, but that's mostly a matter of personal taste. The food was otherwise excellent.

The food was delicious, the service very friendly and polite, but the pressure in the kitchen was really too high, which meant we had to wait a very long time for the food, and some of the requested dishes were not delivered.

We had made a reservation for a shared dinner. It was a bit of a shame that we didn't have one when we arrived because there was a themed night, which we hadn't been aware of when we made the reservation. Ultimately, we had a very enjoyable evening.

Unfortunately, this place isn't a place I'd want to return to. I found the atmosphere rather flat: people try their best to be friendly, but it didn't feel entirely natural. The food was okay, not bad, but certainly not something to specifically return for. The general atmosphere of the place mirrors this: simply mediocre. What I found most unpleasant were the restrooms (at least the men's ones), which were quite filthy. The fact that the door couldn't be locked made it even more unpleasant. It was a rather unconvincing experience.

Spent a few hours on the terrace because the weather was bad. The service was friendly, and it was very pleasant to spend a few hours here on the covered terrace with my partner. The snacks were delicious, and the decor inside and out was inviting.

We've eaten here four times in the past two and a half years, and the food remains delicious, as always, and the staff is very friendly. It's just a shame the menu hasn't changed all that time. This time, we also sat on the terrace for the first time, and the table wasn't as clean as inside the restaurant; the table and menu were a bit dirty and sticky. There was also a lot of shouting and noise from the kitchen.
