Great for lunch. Also good with children on the terrace with a play area.

We had a good meal, but the bill didn't really match a restaurant at the campsite.

Had a delicious meal and sat outside. You get more than enough and it's not too expensive. It belongs to a holiday park, but you wouldn't know it. Wide selection.

The service was good but a bit slow, and the ambiance is excellent, but the pasta tasted bland and was a rather small portion, especially for the price.

We had a delicious meal with surprising, unique dishes. Instead of a bread roll or baguette beforehand, vegetable chips were served; besides looking colorful, they tasted very good too. The duck breast was tender and cooked just right. And a tasty cappuccino.

Cozy setting, fine service. The selection wasn't very extensive, but that doesn't have to be a problem as long as it's good. But honestly, it was disappointing, especially at these prices. We have eaten much better for less before, even with a larger group. It looks fine, mind you, but for example the carpaccio (and that's where you start) was disappointing, lacking flavor. Adding salt and pepper didn't help at all. The satay was decent, but my partner had the pepper steak, medium, and we had the same problem there, lacking flavor. With the children, one only had a starter and the other a kids' menu, and then spending 170+ with drinks and no dessert is really too much, especially for the quality. It's a shame because, as mentioned, the service and atmosphere are good.

This hidden gem is a breath of fresh air. Nice location, great friendly service, and good food at a good price. Definitely recommended.

We ate a fried egg sandwich: 3 hen eggs overcooked, 2 slices of bread; if you wanted cheese and/or ham on it, that was 3 euros! Extra The butter was missing😔

Very poor service. I sat there waiting for 30 minutes for a mint tea, only to receive nothing but brown leaves. When I pointed it out, no one paid any attention to it. It wasn't even busy, and we weren't offered a menu, but we were given a spot at the table.

Nice restaurant at the campsite with a fantastic water playground. The food is fine, but the kitchen is incredibly slow. The first time, it took 50 minutes for two toasted sandwiches and two rolls. And on top of that, they were the wrong sandwiches. The second time, it took 45 minutes, even though we were sitting at two tables on the terrace, because they had forgotten to make the risotto (the order was two main courses and a portion of fries with chicken nuggets). We found the solution offered—free drinks and a thousand apologies—a bit meager.

Beautiful place for gathering with family. Great terrace with an exciting water playground for children. And delicious dishes to share. Plus: approachable, friendly, and professional service. I want to see my family more often!

We ordered a truffle mascarpone and prosciutto pizza (The Bistro Jan special), we got served a salami and olive one (after a 45 min wait with hungry kids). When pointing out that we got the wrong pizzas the Chef came storming out saying the prosciutto was finished (at a 17.30 reservation) and he put on it what he had. He said it was either this or pizza was off the menu, and then stormed out. Half our pizzas were also not really cooked through, and the burger meat tasted a bit off so we didn’t eat that one at all. Friendly staff but this was a really odd experience for our parents 45th anniversary..

Nice restaurant, small pool, and playground for the children. I was dining here with my family. However, it took a very long time for the starters to be brought. I had ordered a "ravioli" starter, but it looked more like three deep-fried filled rounds? In any case, not the filled dough you expect from ravioli. The other starters (and main courses) were good and tasty. Subsequently, we waited well over an hour for the main course. Upon inquiry, it turned out that our order had not gone through. Unfortunately, because of this, my sister-in-law had to leave immediately after dinner to put the child to bed. We then ordered dessert, which was not brought either. When paying the bill, we indicated that all of this had certainly affected the atmosphere; apologies were made, but nothing was offered in compensation (a cup of coffee, for example), leaving us very disappointed.

Had a lovely afternoon at Bistro Jan. Sited comfortably in the sun on the terrace with a good IPA, while the children had a great time by the small body of water next to the terrace. The service was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere pleasant, and everything arrived quickly. Exactly the place where you can completely unwind. Highly recommended for a sunny afternoon with the family.

This remains such a cool spot for a bite and a drink. We had a wonderful time again these past few days. Super staff and delicious beer. We love coming back here.

We went out for dinner together on Whit Sunday. There was a sort of DJ (an older man in his second youth) on the terrace. The music was way too loud to enjoy eating and chatting. So we went inside, despite the warm day. It was busy, so it took a bit longer. After waiting half an hour for the soup of the day and a bread roll, we walked up and asked where it was. We had already been sitting there for 45 minutes! The cook personally brought the lukewarm soup with apologies, and we were offered a free drink. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre: the chicken satay was tasteless and the green beans were cold. The service was friendly, but for us, it was unfortunately a disappointment, so we skipped dessert.

They are really great, went out for dinner last Friday and spoke to chef Hugo Scholten personally for a bit. A real top guy! I'm coming back tomorrow, hope he's working again then!

Had a great summer evening at Bistro Jan with a DJ, lots of good beats, and all the guests were clearly having a good time. We will be back next time.

2xHamburgers were lukewarm, 2x steak from Jan for 31 euros, there could have been a little more on your plate, you had to pay for the fries separately, small bowl of lukewarm fries for 5 euros extra. Price quality was very poor After the owner's answer, I would like to be the first to say that I am not Jacqeline the hunter, secondly, a waitress was told at the table that the burgers were lukewarm, thirdly, you have been to the table a few times but with the wrong order!! And we were never asked if everything was to our liking, those were our words to a waitress who came after us. And fourthly, we do not look at the prices, but we do look at the price-quality ratio (and if the price had not fit our budget, I would have I will cook at home) they were far apart, but you give a very dismissive answer that I cannot agree with at all, you try to justify yourself over someone else's back, but good luck with your business!

I have lived in Zeist for years, but ended up at the Bistro two years ago through word of mouth. Very attentive service, a good menu, and delicious food. Due to the restaurant's location, you feel like you are on vacation.

We had reserved the last table. Upon arrival, it turned out a mistake had been made meaning it was already occupied, but this was resolved perfectly with a drink while we waited. The food was of high quality and the service was top-notch. Thanks to the staff, we still had a wonderful evening here; we will definitely come back. Hospitality as you like to see it.

I celebrated my 40th birthday here with about 30 guests of all ages. We had a wonderful afternoon/evening! I visited them once to prepare. I briefly reviewed the options, and we coordinated the rest via email. That went very smoothly. There are so many options, and they're very helpful and flexible. It was also great that they could reserve a separate area. I was looking for a spacious venue for this party, with music that wasn't too overpowering. It was a great find! It was cozy and atmospheric, and everyone (young and old) enjoyed the drinks and snacks. Definitely worth doing again!

Highly recommended! We thought it was a simple camping restaurant, but nothing could be further from the truth. It's even worth making a detour specifically to go there. The menu features some truly unique dishes that have been carefully crafted. Truly delicious. And I believe almost everything is homemade. We initially arrived with a large group, and they were given a fantastic welcome and the service was very friendly and knowledgeable. So much so that we returned the next day with a smaller group for lunch because we'd enjoyed a delicious meal and wanted to try some other dishes. Highly recommended, a true gem to discover.

We walked in around 8 PM on Sunday evening and received a warm welcome. The food was excellent, and as a surprise, we got a Cote du Boeuf instead of Jan's steak. They were all gone :) A bit of a challenge to get in, but worth it.

I've been staying at the campsite for a while now and have eaten at the restaurant and snack stand several times. The food was delicious and ready quickly, but what really stood out was the staff at the snack stand. There was a rather small boy with blue eyes and brown hair who was incredibly kind and very helpful. He made it a truly fantastic experience for me. In short, a truly fantastic place!

Today I enjoyed the sunny terrace with my son, a delicious cecina de vaca shared as an appetizer, and Jan's delicious steak, the highlight. We'll definitely be back.

What a wonderful evening! We were camping and thought we'd made a reservation at a real "campsite restaurant." Later, we looked at the menu and thought, "Oh, so delicious!" We were already overwhelmed by the choice. Finally, we arrived at the restaurant and were immediately greeted warmly. They were very helpful, and the food was amazing! Delicious dishes; you could tell the chef had really put some thought into them. Very hospitable and delicious, highly recommended to everyone. Service unlike anything you've ever experienced.

We celebrated summer yesterday. And how! Every Tuesday (at least in the summer), the chef here makes a fantastic paella. Super delicious, super fresh. Enjoy it with a matching beer on a stunning terrace, and you'll feel like you're on the Spanish hills.

Does not serve tap water. Food ok. There was no other place nearby, hence we did eat something. Since they did not serve tap water (also not for kids in warm weather), we decided not to order anything else but the necessary. Food is adequate, nothing special.

Great! You think a camping restaurant, but it is so much more than that! Delicious wines (think Rioja and Chardonnay, or ask for the wine from the Ardèche - amazing!) combined with delicious food and a fantastic terrace. We had the Cecina as a starter (wow!) and as a main the Gnocchi and the Burger. All very tasty. Combined with their special beers and delicious wines it was a top evening.

Went here for dinner with a group of 21 people. We didn't have to tell them in advance what we wanted to eat. I assume you can keep up with such a group. Unfortunately, this was not the case. We had to wait almost 75 minutes for our starter (which consisted of 2 cold dishes). The children were starving in the meantime. Asked for a roll with herb butter for them, to which the waiter said: sorry, that's not possible now because they are too busy in the kitchen. Carpaccio without truffle mayonnaise (with pesto) with very little cheese. The rest of the food was cold. The dessert was very tasty. It's a shame that this evening had to end like this.

My brother with an intellectual disability and autism had to cough and huffed in a planter with mint plants in it. Then the manager came to my mother and was very rude and angry at her, insulted her and threatened to kick her out. My mother also explained what was going on and he kept acting angry. It's just a plant :l

Unbelievable how the owner (?) raged at me and threatened to evict us from the building after my child with a disability did something uncomfortable. My child is 10 but has the developmental level of a 2 year old. He had spit on the bottom of a planter between the mint plants. Gross of course and uncomfortable. I thought I had resolved this with a lady at the counter. Suddenly that man comes up to me white hot and starts ranting at me. I hope he never treats customers like that again. I tried to explain that this child had an intellectual disability and could have unpredictable behavior. I received no understanding, only the message that I could only stay because I was part of a party. We were sitting there with a large group spending a lot of money on a 50th wedding anniversary. The gentleman managed to make me feel so unwelcome that I immediately left with my four grandchildren of the bridal couple under my arm. I went to the waiter, now also angry, to explain why we were leaving, but again I received no understanding. I don't understand how a few plants are worth more to an entrepreneur than the goodwill of the customers. And I find approaching someone in such a tone completely inhospitable and indecent. And as for the food; When it was my turn, the bowls were empty. The guys at the counter were very friendly. I hope that the bridal couple did not notice anything else about this incident, because this child is the apple of grandpa's eye, precisely because he is who he is.

Unknown despite living in Zeist for more than 20 years. More than excellent. Very fast service and the food was excellent. The Royal Eggs with poached eggs on a brioche with salmon and hollandaise is highly recommended. Will definitely come back

I live in Zeist, 10 minutes by bike to Bistro Jan, but I never knew about the Bistro. Nice cozy Bistro, friendly service and good, food was excellent.

Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing, despite the positive reviews. The bacon in the club sandwich was not well done, the grilled chicken was slices of chicken fillet (sandwich filling) and the pickle was too dominant. With the flammkuchen, the cream cheese was not distributed properly and a bite of salt would come through the cheese spread. The feedback on the flammkuchen was received 'lukewarm'. It was discussed with the kitchen, but there was nothing they could do about it. Friendly service though.

After a first disappointing visit to Bistro Jan, the crew handled it perfectly. They gave us a gift certificate to make it up to us next time. And they did! We spent a weekend in Zeist and had dinner at Bistro Jan twice. It was really delicious and the service is extremely friendly. Jan (Jacob chef and owner) came to the table a few times to ask how we liked it and to talk in detail about his dishes and options outside the menu. It was a pleasure to stay and talk to Jacob. From a disappointment to two nice evenings. It can be done that way! Compliments to the team at Bistro Jan in Zeist.

Last night I had a delicious, fatty snack on my cheat day, at the snack bar of the Bistro, namely a war of fries and a satay sauce fries. There was a friendly light blond boy behind the counter, with refined round glasses. When we got our food, we saw a generous portion of fries in the containers, and there was even an extra portion next to it! The sauce, on the other hand, was very mediocre, as it was a bit on the creamy side. Regardless of what happened, this young man was very friendly and definitely deserves a raise!! Delicious fries with good mayonnaise. The service was also very friendly. All this while enjoying a beautiful location. If we are ever in the area again, we would love to come back.
