Grand Café de Smidse in Schagen (woonkern-Midden)

6 personen gegeten. Voorgerecht en hoofdgerecht. 3 personen een aspergemenu, wat een tegenvaller. De asperges waren gedrenkt in een zure onbestendige saus. Na een waterig aspergesoepje, viel dit bij 3 personen behoorlijk tegen. Bij navraag of dit wel klopte, kregen we een kopje koffie aangeboden. Duur kopje koffie want wij komen niet meer.

Eind februari in het zonnetje op het leuke terras kunnen zitten. Prima lunchkaart, vriendelijke bediening. Lekker gegeten. Zeker een aanrader.

Nice place to eat. I had the steak menu, definitely recommended. We were a group of 6 and received our food at the same time. There was plenty of choice, both vegetarian and meat dishes.

We ordered a hamburger, all of ours were so DRY that I almost CHOKE on it, I said something about it, the waitress saw it and agreed with me, so did the chefs, I indicated that I no longer had confidence in a new hamburger. + that if I were to get a new one, my company would have finished a long time ago, so I'd rather not calculate the hamburger for my person. Does the waitress say that that is not possible, or a new one will be baked or I will get a drink from the house.....The hamburger costs €18.50!!!!! After some resistance on my part, I had to take the hamburger again... I wasn't really looking forward to it, because what is in the kitchen if they can't even fry hamburgers... but then I got the new hamburger. and this one was completely RED on the inside and not WATM warm, so I say something about that, she says you can just eat it, it's organic???? The white “WIRES” were in there??? This afternoon the misery started: SPITTING and DIARRHEA, which is what I was afraid of, thank you all!!!! It's bizarre that if it is admitted that the hamburger is very dry, cooked too dry, that I won't get my money back, while the others also thought it was way too dry, but didn't want to complain...

Come here regularly for coffee with our cycling team. Always served quickly and friendly. Large selection of pastries from the bakery and still normally priced. In short, a top tent and our regular coffee address in Schagen.

My grandfather was always a big fan of this place, nice atmosphere and very nice staff, always nice to sit down and have a drink

Lekker geluncht. Hete kip, curry worst en warm vlees waren alle drie erg goed. (Kip is erg heet) Mooie plek naast de kerk.

Nice girls on the terrace, nice spot near the church in the village. Cappucino was a weak dish. It's not really a Grand Café. Gastrobar Soho (the neighbors) radiates much more in that respect. But overall nothing wrong with that. Didn't eat so no review on that. Most reviews seem positive about this.

Hi, I'm really not happy at all...I ate a pork tenderloin...And then got sick and thought I was going to die. So the meat was definitely not good. Food poisoning. Nice store.

We stapten hier binnen voor de lunch. De tent bleek zo goed als vol te zitten, maar er was nog wel een tafeltje vrij. We werden vlot en vriendelijk bediend en de drankjes stonden snel op tafel. Het eten duurde wat langer, maar het was het wachten waard. De salades die we hadden besteld smaakten prima. Je kan hier dus gerust gaan lunchen.

Great food, great atmosphere, acoustics not quite right, now just a little more variety of beer and you are a grand café.

Hier neergestreken (ofja: naar binnen gerend vanwege regen) tijdens ons vakantiebezoekje aan Schagen. Het grand café is groots opgezet (dat verwacht je ook van een grand café) met een mooie bar in het midden. Bediening is zeer vriendelijk en snel. Wij hebben een warm broodje pulled pork en een broodje tonijnsalade gegeten. Mooie porties, en het smaakt ook nog eens prima. Zeker een aanrader als je in de buurt bent.

Nice place with good atmosphere and good food

Went here for dinner this evening during our holiday. Opted for the steak menu at €42.50 pp. The dish consists of carpaccio as a starter, steak as a main course and a surprise dessert. We can be brief about the carpaccio, it was good (maybe a bit too many Amsterdam onions, I'm not used to that), but a la. Next came the steak, a small piece of super salted and peppered meat, which I'm not yet sure what kind it was. The gravy was equally unrecognizable, grimy and had bits of it floating from the bottom of the pan...and I think it was watered down too. In short, not a recommendation and not worth dipping the two pieces of bread that came with it. To our surprise we also received fries. That one was okay. Just like the service. Finally, the dessert...again a disappointment: some kind of cookie with whipped egg white and three raspberries on the side. Was it supposed to be something like lemon pie?? Now I don't mind paying more than 100 euros for a dinner for 2 people. In fact, I would be willing to pay (much) more for that, but it has to be good. This wasn't that.

Hier avonds gegeten. Wel gehorig. Tonijn vooraf en zalm hoofdgerecht prima. Carpaccio oke. Tournedos met jus en wit brood, geen frites erbij. Affligem blond en skuumkoppe op de tap naast heineken. Ligging centraal aan de markt

De mexikaanse Gehakt was lekker pittig, de Kip ook een hele boel.

Slechtste restaurant waar ik ooit ben geweest.

ik heb heerlijk daar op het terras gezeten en een broodje hete kip besteld. deze was echt perfect! enorm grote portie en ook lekker pittig. Dat is bij de anderen meestal niet , hier dus wel. Top! lekker met verse paprika, courgette, noem maar op . ik kan niet anders dan positief zijn. De bediening was oke, de bezorging van de kaart duurde te lang en moest er nog een keer om vragen, daarom 1 ster minder en Oh ja, nog een ster minder voor de service omdat er geen toiletpapier was in het toilet. Dat was erg lastig.

Beste Spare Ribs ooit. En ik heb er verstand van. :)

Leuke sfeer. Vriendelijk personeel. Heerlijke lunch met genoeg keuze.

Het was erg druk en het duurde lang voordat we konden bestellen en voordat we ons eten kregen. We werden niet ontvangen dus zijn maar gewoon gaan zitten. Het broodje carpaccio had welgeteld drie pijnboompitten en verder andere zaden. Erg weinig truffelmayo

Der Kaffee war lecker, aber teuer und das Personal war nicht das freundlichste. Vielleicht nur einen schlechten Tag gehabt, aber trotzdem sollte man danke und bitte.

Nettes gemütliches Kaffee direkt am Markt von Schagen mit Blick auf die Kirche, freundlicher zuvorkommender Staff, gemütliche Sitzgelegenheiten vor dem Kaffee, ebenso im Inneren, guter Cappuccino und Latte Macchiato, wir kommen gerne wieder.

Lekker gegeten op een gezellige locatie!

Prachtig terras aan de markt en regelmatig gegeten, maar dit keer zeer matig. Vrij duur voor hetgeen je krijg. Serveer er een lekkere salade bij en het ziet er al veel beter uit. Moesten echt om extra frietjes vragen (op de rekening), omdat het simpelweg te kort was. De surf en turf met slechts 3 zeer kleine ossenhaas puntjes en 3 gamba’s en een kwakje warme doorkookte groenten. Echt niet nodig!

Hele mooie stek op het plein in Schagen waar je altijd iets lekkers kan scoren. Vooral een schumkop gaat er wel in.

Heerlijk eten. Duurt vaak wel even.

Zeer lekker gegeten. Zeer vlugge en zeer vriendelijke bediening. Prijs/kwaliteit vonden we het zeker oké.

Wat een leuk Grand Cafe. Vriendelijk personeel, snelle bediening en lekker eten.

Ein sehr gemütliches Café mit schöner Aussicht auf den Markt. Wir wurden sehr freundlich bedient und hatten super, leckeren Apfelkuchen. Wir können dieses Lokal sehr empfehlen.
