Last week we unexpectedly dined here on a weekday. Even though the restaurant was quiet, there was a good atmosphere and it was very pleasant. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. We asked the staff why the portions were so large, and the answer was: Germans eat more... 😂 In short: nice restaurant, good food, good atmosphere. We will definitely come back.

Just had a delicious meal here. Super friendly service and a cozy, homey atmosphere. I had three sole. Deliciously prepared with fresh vegetables. My wife had the schnitzel, which was also perfect. The portions are generous, great value for money. And there were baked potatoes and salad, unlimited! For dessert, a mandarin cheesecake, which was also delicious. 😋 In short, highly recommended; we thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Dorfsicht hamburgers were delicious, and the beer menu was second to none. The Holstein schnitzel was also okay. The reserved seats were nicely located.

Worst food and service since I've been on holiday in the Netherlands. Typical tourist spot where you only go once and already regret it.

We went out for lunch for the first time with our 11-year-old son, who has significant difficulties with music due to his autism. So far, we haven't been able to have a nice meal or coffee anywhere because turning off the radio isn't an option. We thank the people at Dorpszicht so much; they have no idea what this means! What a wonderful experience for him and for us as a family. And the food was truly fantastic 🤩! Thank you so much for letting us turn off the radio for a bit!

If you have a peanut/tree nut allergy, I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant. I can't eat pasta with pesto, so I ordered the pasta without pesto... But guess what... that also has pesto in the sauce. The spare ribs... no, they were also made with a peanut marinade. I shouldn't have had the fries either... so I had fried potatoes and half a chicken. 🤷🏼 Finally, I was glad I didn't order dessert because it had a peanut "kletskop" mashed into it! This restaurant is completely unaware of the dangers of having such an allergy!

The atmosphere was decent, but the background music was a bit loud. The food (vegetarian) wasn't good. The veggie burger was overly seasoned, and the fries were decent. They also looked strange, as if they'd fried defrosted fries. The taste was decent. In short, I wouldn't go back.

You can taste the quality and attention to detail in every bite. The atmosphere is also simply fantastic. The location is a real eye-catcher, with stunning decor and a feel-good vibe that immediately makes you feel at home. Sweet details, cozy yet elegant – you immediately notice how much heart and soul has been put into it. The service was equally top-notch: super friendly, attentive, and always with a smile. You really feel welcome here. For me, it was an all-around perfect experience – Dorpszicht is a restaurant you absolutely must visit. I'll definitely be back!

The beautiful weather that evening allowed us to sit outside. We had the village side platter, which would have easily served two people, and the fish platter with delicious, spicy fried potatoes and a side salad. To finish, we ordered a delicious schnapps, a juttertje. It was a lovely evening.

The price is okay, but the food is nothing special. The pepper steak was very tasty, and the refilling of side dishes was a good idea. Unfortunately, the fish platter was disappointing, and the enchiladas, or rather, the enchilada, were simply wrong. Anyone who's ever eaten Mexican food will wonder what they're being served. The worst, however, was the curry spice mix used for the meat in the enchilada...for people who don't like curry, it's simply disgusting. The portions are okay, the enchilada is huge, and you get unseasoned rice and red beans with it, along with some salad. The service was nice, if not always attentive, but it was also busier.

The pepper steak was good, but the fish platter was unfortunately very disappointing. The smoked salmon was cold and didn't taste right with the overall dish. The cod was too bland, and the plaice only managed to stand out somewhat in terms of flavor thanks to the fried spices. The enchilada(s) on the menu, plural, are unfortunately far from true Mexican cuisine. Furthermore, there is no non-alcoholic drinks menu, either online or on-site. On the positive side, the two types of potatoes and the salad, which can be ordered later if desired, are worth mentioning. However, these also tasted quite okay. Another major criticism is that smoking is permitted at the tables outside, when you could have smoked freely two meters away without ruining someone's meal. The ambience inside is pleasant, but the outside was a bit lacking. Another major negative point is that, according to information provided, the Wiener Schnitzel is made of pork. A Wiener Schnitzel is made of veal and can only be called that if it is. When paying by card or separately, you have to go inside, where it's so narrow you get in the way of other people. We probably won't be coming back.

We sat in the conservatory overlooking the street. We had made a reservation well in advance because we were eating there on the weekend. The bread platter was fine. Then it took a very long time for the main courses to arrive. It was very noisy in the conservatory because of the large group, so it was impossible to have a normal conversation. The food was tasty, but we wouldn't go back.

Eten was prima. Moesten na de deluxe broodplank erg lang op ons hoofdgerecht wachten. Bediening kwam wel geregeld langs om te kijken. Zodra je drankje op was stond de bediening er om te vragen of wij nog iets te drinken wilden. Zaten in de serre deze was erg vol/druk met grote groepen. Hierdoor moest je bijna schreeuwen naar degene tegenover je. Het is redelijk aan de prijs.

After a day at the beach, I visited Dorpszicht. It has a lovely garden where you can enjoy the evening sun. It's a truly intimate spot. The service is super friendly and everything runs smoothly. Simply delicious food without any fuss. Excellent value for money.

We waited over an hour for the food, it never came... around 30 degrees in the shade, dogs, no water. The main thing is that I understood the thing about the wine. We got up and I just asked if they didn't like Germans anymore because all the Dutch people had already had their food. I asked for it to be medium rare, but unfortunately, it was cooked through when it arrived. This made it very tough, which unfortunately detracted from my experience. Dorpszicht is a quaint restaurant, beautifully decorated, and with a lovely winter garden and glass-enclosed terrace. The staff are all very friendly and attentive, and service is fairly quick. The food wasn't a culinary highlight for us, but overall it was good and, in our opinion, a solid 4 stars. Unfortunately, we lose one star for the lack of a drinks menu, although the wait staff can list all the drinks upon request. So, for a quick overview: the bottle of water already on the table costs €6.50, and a small beer costs €4. Conclusion: A lovely restaurant with friendly staff and good food. Visit on June 26, 2025

The place is really nice and atmospheric. We ordered schnitzel and ribs, both items really good but average, classic schnitzel and ribs could have stayed a little longer in the oven. Plus for unlimited potatoes, salad and a large portion of food. Prices are okay. A slight minus for the fact that not everyone on the staff speaks English, which makes communication a little difficult. Ultimately, we are satisfied.

Der Zweite Besuch und immer noch nicht enttäuscht. Klar in den Niederlanden ist es etwas teurer als in Deutschland, wobei sich das in den Ferienregionen glaub ich gar nix gibt. Wir hatten Reserviert 2 Personen mit Hund Sehr aufmerksam das bei einem Vierertisch ein Stuhl gefehlt hatte, so das der Hund abseits vom Gang genug Platz hatte. Sehr schöne Aufmerksamkeit. Bestellt hatten wir Kippelig mit Pommes Salat und Dip und einen Gemüse Curry Burger mit Pommes und Dip. 2 x Radler 1 Flasche Wasser alles zusammen 53 €. Alles in allem ein gelungener Abend 👍

Today I had a nice dinner with my parents. Upon arrival we were quickly helped by a friendly young lady. We had reserved a table in the conservatory, but decided to sit outside because of the heat and the noise. This was no problem at all: we got a nice spot at the front in the sun. Great! I wanted a glass of wine and eventually chose a rosé. However, the waitress did not know whether it was a dry or sweet rosé. She would ask, but a little later we got our drinks — including a bottle of rosé — without any feedback. It was apparently assumed that I wanted a dry rosé. I really like the concept where you can pour wine per glass from a bottle. However, I do wonder whether you can really get five full glasses from a bottle, as mentioned. In my experience, this usually just doesn't work. The shrimp piri piri were unfortunately disappointing: if you expect a spicy taste, it is a shame when the dish turns out to be bland. The garlic mushrooms and tomato soup, on the other hand, were very tasty! My main course was a schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce. The sauce was served cold, but after I commented on it, this was immediately addressed: apologies were offered and a warm sauce was quickly brought. Very neatly resolved! However, it was noticeable that the side dishes that are standard with the main course were missing — not only for us, but also for two other tables next to us. If we had not asked for them ourselves, they probably would not have been brought. Quite striking, especially since it is on the menu. The nachos with minced meat were either fried for too long or had been under a heat lamp for too long: the cheese was almost burnt. We reported this to the staff, who indicated that they would pass it on to the kitchen. Unfortunately, we did not receive any further feedback about this and no compensation was given. I thought this was a shame; with a less than successful experience you expect some kind of service or at least a reaction. This gives the impression that the staff is still inexperienced and that there is still room for improvement in the area of ​​hospitality. All in all a nice evening, but there is certainly room for improvement.

Heerlijk gegeten met vrienden. We hadden een proeverijtje vooraf van 5 gerechtjes en ik had tagliatelle vegetarisch (ik ben geen vegetariër) als hoofdgerecht. Porties waren zeer rijkelijk. Gezellige ambiance en er liep genoeg personeel. Ik zou wel reserveren !

The bottom line: A place with potential, great service, and a lovely atmosphere. If the kitchen gets some fine-tuning, I'd be happy to come back—until then, more of a place for a pleasant evening with drinks than for a major culinary highlight.

De bediening was zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam.Ik heb Coeliakie en daar werd perfect op gereageerd.Maar het eten was gewoon beneden de maat en zeker voor die prijzen.Ik had een zeer vreemd gerecht van een combinatie zalm met gebakken seranoham met een megaklodder room en mijn dochter de snitzel wat zeker geen 25 euro waard was.Daarbij wou ik een glas Chardonnay die in een emmer geserveerd werd en met streepjes op de fles werd afgerekend.Slimme glazen waarbij het optisch een redelijk glas moet voorstellen maar als je het echt in een wijnglas schenkt is de hoeveelheid echt beneden maats zeker voor die prijs!

What a wonderful surprise on our last evening in Callantsoog. You enter a very colorful interior and are warmly welcomed by very friendly and knowledgeable staff. It was very busy, but we couldn't fault that, the service was fast. Deluxe bread board in advance with delicious raw ham and generous spreads. Then the main course, the plaice fillet and schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce. Just as delicious with salad, seasoned potatoes and fresh al dente vegetables on the plate. Beautifully presented and tasty. The schnitzel could have been a little shorter, but oh well, someone who pays attention to that. We are fans!

We (my wife and I) are here for the first time, we are surprised by the atmosphere and the whole story is well rounded. Overall, the food was okay (8 out of 10), not outstanding but consistent with the pricing. The service can be rated as very good service. We haven't been here for the last time.

Very unfriendly service, especially the blonde "lady" nacho cheese ordered, mainly nachos, cheese you had to think about it, very unfortunate, also ordering drinks the second time took at least 10 minutes.

This was our third time eating there and we are still impressed by the wonderful ambience. The food was again very tasty, but today it was a bit unseasoned, but that could be ironed out with a little salt and pepper. Unfortunately, what ruined what was a wonderful evening in the Dorpszicht today was the fact that an employee unmistakably and continuously gave us the feeling that we were unwelcome guests there. Yes, I know, a very subjective perception, but that's how it came across to us. We (two adults) were there with three small children and needed three high chairs. Even though we had stated this when we made the reservation the day before, we were now literally shouted at - "there is no room for it in the aisle", that would "hinder and disturb everyone else". This was pronounced quite loudly in Dutch, but unfortunately I also understood it. The children's chairs were provided to us, but it was up to us to place them at the table. The scolding employee undoubtedly loudly “reprimanded” a much younger employee. In the further course we were asked for drinks exactly once (when ordering food) - otherwise we were skillfully ignored by the lady. I have to emphasize that the other employees were nice, friendly and extremely accommodating as usual - especially towards our children. I really hope that the lady just had a bad day and that this doesn't happen again for other guests. We won't be going there again, at least on this holiday. Too bad!

When we visit my boyfriend's family, we regularly come here from Julianadorp. There is room to sit both inside and outside. The sandwiches are always a great success and also different from what you see here in the Randstad. Definitely recommended for lunch. Staff is also always very friendly and the prices here are very nice too! Tip for a quiet lunch: park a little further outside the blue zone, so you don't have to look at the time.

Ik had het gevoel terug te keren in de jaren 80. Normaal gewend te eten in een stad met allerlei fancy menu's en over de top gerechten. Hier niet. Dit is een rechttoe, rechtaan menu, dat eenmaal op tafel er smakelijk uitziet. Ze proberen chique te doen en dat is heerlijk oprecht, maar het is vooral de dorpse sfeer en het betaalbare menu dat het bezoek bijzonder maakt. Het was een genot en daarom gingen we 3 keer.

Large and very cozy restaurant with a winter garden. The restaurant was full and the air was correspondingly stuffy. The windows or doors in the winter garden could not be opened. The dishes are very tasty and the portions are quite large, especially since you get “all you can eat” potato side dishes. But it is also at the upper limit in terms of price.

Of course, it always remains a personal preference, but in my opinion a great restaurant. In terms of dynamics, it has something of a cafe, but that does it a disservice. The atmosphere is cozy and busy, as is the decor (vintage and antique), quaint and very nice. Nice, smooth, accurate service from young people with whom you immediately feel at ease or even at home. I ate there alone 3 days in a row (was there for work) but it was fantastic. I was there at 6 p.m. and it was completely full in no time. Strangely enough, the audience is usually 40+. Yes, then the food, wide choice and all delicious, sufficient, excellent quality, fresh and variety. I've had something different 3 times and it was all great. 1st Holsteiner schnitzel 2nd Steak 3rd Tagliatelle Highly recommended also for our eastern neighbors because the menu is also in German (service also speaks German)

If what is on the menu is not served and what is on the menu is served extremely poorly, 1 star is still too much. The enchiladas with “vegetables” were mainly filled with soggy mushrooms, the rice was undercooked (rock hard) and the beans were dumped from the can onto the plate. The salad with “beetroot and goat cheese” came without beetroot but with cucumber and tomato 🤷🏻‍♀️. The “plaice fillet with grilled tomatoes and white wine mustard sauce” came as a breaded dry fish fillet with a thick mustard mayonnaise. OK. It's all probably a matter of taste. But to then just shrug your shoulders and say “you can’t write everything down on the card” is more than unprofessional. At least the question of a small compensation for the guest would have been the least. Actually, you should have actually spoken to someone responsible. But I didn’t want to do that to my kids. By the way: I've never written a review before...but I think it's really appropriate here.

Delicious food. The satay is highly recommended, as is the pork tenderloin with brie red wine sauce with shallots, a real feast for the human tongue. Definitely a place to eat more often when we are in Callantsoog.

Extensive menu, lots of choice for vegetarians, fish dishes, Mexican, meat, pasta, burgers. In the photo you can see the Dorpszicht burger, which was very tasty, as were the fries. We also had enchiladas with and without meat, which was also very good. The waitresses were very attentive, friendly and quick, even though it was packed. I can't confirm the criticism from the other review. The prices are a bit high, hence 4 stars, but otherwise everything is really great! We would visit the place again at any time and can only warmly recommend the restaurant! Almost forgot: the menu is also in German and the waitresses also spoke German, which was of course nice! ❤
