Lovely aftera nice walk in the park with your dog,. Completely dog friendly. Really nice little cakes arms drinks. Also good for lunch.

Had coffee and cake. It was fine. The carrot cake was delicious. Friendly service.

The cafe looks nice; we didn't see a long line, but then again, we didn't order any food or drinks from them. We only picked up the "gourmet" tour with knapsacks. We paid 19 euros for two A4 sheets of paper, two gnome hats, and two knapsacks. The knapsack turned out to be a red tea towel, inside which they put an apple, two mini cakes, and raisins, with an elastic band around it and skewers attached as sticks. But what do children want? They constantly want to take something out of the bag, with the result that everything keeps falling out. In the end, three of the four cakes fell to the floor before they could even be put in their mouths. Those knapsacks are no good. My advice: don't spend money on A4 sheets and knapsacks, even though the gnome hat is cute—but how many children really want to wear that? Enjoy a trip to the forest and search for gnomes yourself. Bring some tasty food and drinks, and create your own gnome game (search by color or gender, or give them a camera and have them take pictures of five). There are really enough of them hidden in the trees to make up your own game. Or just take a walk and enjoy all the gnomes everywhere.

The place is lovely, especially at the back, where there's also a playground and a small field for children. A place like this deserves proper service on a terrace. In exchange for the already considerable price of a few drinks and a few bitterballen, you have to wait in line for fifteen minutes before you can serve your own drinks to your guests. Poor thing.

Today we ate the appetizer here via "Hops en Traps." It was a salad consisting of: Quinoa, goat cheese, tomato, cucumber, watermelon, curried cauliflower, spinach leaves, sunflower seeds, eggplant, a piece of carrot, and soy sauce. What kind of combination is that? Are these leftovers from the day before? This salad wasn't on the menu. This chef should probably hang up his apron. He or she isn't worthy of the name.

Had a wonderful party at Café Groeneveld. Everything was perfect: friendly staff, excellent service, a beautiful location, and delicious food. Highly recommended!

The service, particularly in response to a comment we made about a dish we ordered, was exceptionally good. The location is beautiful; you do have to wait a bit for a table if you want to sit outside, but then you're comfortable!

Lovely place, delicious high tea with good service and tasty snacks. The flavors are perfect, and everything goes well together. You get a savory and a sweet round, and unlimited tea. Prefer coffee? No problem. The service is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable; it's great that they have extensive product knowledge.

Cozy Grand Cafe. Professional chefs and service. We had a delicious high tea today. Top-notch service. They're very considerate of allergies and even make something delicious for the person with an allergy. You don't see that often. Usually, they take it easy, but these chefs really go the extra mile to create something delicious. Fantastic! The waiter was friendly and checked frequently to see if everything was to our liking. The high tea came with a pot of fresh lemon verbena tea. Very tasty. And the fresh rooibos, orange, and rosemary tea is also highly recommended. Coffee and soft drinks were also included, so we finished off with a nice cup of coffee. In short, highly recommended!

On August 2nd, we had High Tea with the whole family. It was a truly wonderful experience. It was a great idea to have a dedicated staff member for one group who kept an eye on everything and explained the dishes throughout. They were also always available. Furthermore, the atmosphere was welcoming, especially for children and pets. And then there was the High Tea itself: all the dishes were of excellent quality. We thoroughly enjoyed it. All in all: we'll definitely be back.

I booked a High Tea with my father on Thursday. One standard and one vegan High Tea. The time slots for booking a High Tea are limited (only from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM). The staff was super friendly and helpful, regularly checking in to see if there was anything they could do for us and whether the food was good. The High Tea consisted of two rounds: savory and then sweet, with unlimited coffee (also with milk, like cappuccino) and tea (choice of different types). We were asked beforehand if we wanted to toast with prosecco, which we did, and it was a delicious starter. Note that prosecco and soft drinks are not included in the price of the High Tea. The food itself was very tasty. The savory round consisted of half a mashed avocado toast, a wrap with vegetables from the garden, tomato soup, and a roasted cauliflower florets, all of which were tasty but not particularly special. The sweet round was super, super delicious! The pastries were beautifully made. Delicious, well-textured, and well-prepared. The standard menu also includes vegan options. We thoroughly enjoyed it, and I would definitely come back for another high tea! I'd also love to know if the vegan pastries for the high tea are homemade or delivered. I don't live very close and would love to enjoy them again soon 😁

During a long walk, I refilled my water and ordered lunch. I got a beef croquette sandwich; I think €9 is a bit pricey for one croquette, and a brown bread sandwich with some salad. The 0.0 white beer wasn't a hit with me. What bothered me most was the (I suspect) managerial staff member in a blue suit, who was publicly yelling at a young person to hurry up. It wasn't that busy. I think these days you should be grateful you have staff. Give new and young staff the opportunity to learn and offer them a safe environment where they can do so. Give them space to make mistakes; that's how they learn and grow. Then I was served by the same staff member in her most unfriendly way. I have no idea what was bothering her, but it couldn't have been work pressure. Fortunately, the rest of the waitstaff were friendly and hospitable.

QR codes on the tables, yet still making guests queue inside to place their orders. This can hardly have been conceived by someone with a solid background in hospitality. Then, with the aforementioned in mind, charging exorbitant prices for subpar food (and the incredibly meager portions—€9 for a single meager croquette with a single bland slice of bread—is truly laughable). It's a great place for kids to play, but otherwise, it's a very pretentious establishment. With working QR codes and a few minor gastronomic improvements, the experience could be closer to 4-5 stars.

I'd heard some horror stories about the food here, but you only truly know it when you experience it yourself, right? Well, let me put it this way: the stories weren't just urban legends. The first impression was great: beautiful place, lovely building, good vibe. But uh... Free tables? Those were rare. Everything was either reserved or taken. Luckily, we found plenty of room inside. We waited patiently for someone to come and help us. And waited. And waited. Until we saw other guests walking around with menus themselves. Surprise! Self-service. A small detail that was mentioned somewhere on the front of the menu. We ordered two croquette sandwiches for €9, so expectations were high. For that price, you'd expect at least some fries with the croquette. The juices were between €4 and €6 each. That sounded like a well-filled, freshly squeezed cup packed with vitamins, but it wasn't. We made it clear that we were inside, so our lunch wouldn't accidentally go on a world tour outside. We saw our order being prepared. Yay! And then… the lunch disappeared outside. So it was going on a world tour after all... A few chaotic minutes later, we finally received our lunch. Cold. And what else? Well… nothing special. Except that the slice of bread was partly soggy and sour. Not a pleasant surprise. After this pricey tapas portion from the snack bar, we decided to quickly escape to the Boerderijcafé. Luckily, the food there is always good, the service friendly, and you really get your money's worth. Plus: we were still hungry.

We visited this place during our Happen en Trappen route. We had no menu choice, but were served a vegetarian salad. This consisted of a large plate full of lettuce leaves, some cucumber and tomato, hardly any dressing or herbs and a brown sandwich with butter. We thought this was a bit sparse and not particularly tasteful. We also heard this from our fellow Happers and Trappers who we met again and again during the route. The spot on the terrace was beautiful and the service friendly, but unfortunately we found the dish disappointing.

15€ for a Burrata salad which includes couple of tomatoes and salad leaves. I never had so little salad let alone for this price. The place itself is very pretty and cozy.

Beautiful place with a nice children's playground. Self-service with a long queue if you are unlucky on a busy day. The price/quality is completely lacking here. 9eu for one croquette on bread and 2.50eu for a glass of children's limo (concentrated juice but it was just lemonade). Also no healthy options for children except soup.

It's a nice place to sit. Both inside and outside, but the interior design is super clumsy. Staff who have to walk through the self-service queue. People who want to order, people who want to pee, people who want to go outside all have to go through the same small hallway. This makes it very tight because it was very busy. The price-quality ratio was also poor. 10 Euro for 6 bitterballen (not particularly tasty or of a good brand) is really excessive. I can laugh about the prices, a nice story to take home.

This Grand Cafe is located in a beautiful location in the Baarn forests. A great place for a nice lunch. The employees are very friendly and the menu offers enough choice. I think the price is a bit too high, but the food is fine. Dogs are also welcome. This is very pleasant for us as dog owners. Highly recommended this grand cafe!

Had lunch with you again last week and ordered a Tuna Melt Sandwich for € 9.95. I didn't get a sandwich/bread for that money, but I did get an ordinary grilled cheese sandwich with tuna. I love a toasted sandwich but I think it's a bit cheap to sell it as a "Sandwich" and charge a ridiculous amount of €9.95 for it. I have been coming to your Brasserie for years, but in recent years I have found the price/quality ratio to be poor. Next time we'll go to the Hoge Erf again. Too bad!

They don't serve you on the table. Prepare to wait long on the line. Why not use a QR code on the tables, at least? Fries were definitely from many hours before. Our soup was cold. Brownie was too sweet, and the nachos came straight from a supermarket sac with almost no topping. See the pictures. Coffee was good, though.

Wonderful excursion destination even with a dog

Mooie omgeving en sympathiek personeel. Ze waarschuwden ons van te voren dat het een half uurtje kon duren. Netjes. Toch besteld maar wat een teleurstelling. Ik bestelde een salade caprese. Dit werd een bord vol tomaat met droge goedkope witte kaas (geen echte mozarella) en een kwak pesto uit een potje erop. Dit kostte 13,50. Niet opgegeten. Het was te druk om er over te klagen want de keuken was onderbezet. We zijn ergens anders gaan eten.

We had high tea on the top floor. 1x savory, 1x sweet dishes. Delicious in taste and more than enough. Service was perfect. Requested coffee several times, no problem. There was also a small party that made a lot of noise.

Due to the crowds, we sat upstairs and it has more of a canteen feeling. The staff was extremely friendly and the "12 o'clock" menu was more than large enough and very tasty!

Visited in the winter months, nicely decorated with a large Christmas tree. Food took a long time, but the “12-hour meal” (cheese sandwich, egg salad sandwich, croquette sandwich, soup and lettuce) was very tasty and well priced. Grilled tuna sandwich was a bit “standard” but fine. Drinks relatively expensive, but that's almost standard nowadays. Service very friendly. Enough things for the children: different coloring pages, colored pencils (after asking, they even went to get a pencil sharpener for the many broken pencils) and a play corner. In the summer it would also be nice on the terrace with a view of the castle and garden.

Een mooie omgeving en zeer sfeervol. We hebben hier met z'n vieren heerlijk kunnen napraten na een conventie van de Lions in Soest. Genoten van een glas wijn en bitterballen. Alleen de dubbele espresso viel tegen. Maar dat heeft de pret niet gedrukt.

In de zomer is het een leuke zaak omdat er een groot terras bij zit. Aan de voorkant kan je leuk op de binnenplaats van het kasteel zitten en achter heb je een groot grasveld en een speeltuintje voor de kinderen. In de winter vind ik het minder want de ruimte beneden is beperkt en ook nog eens in een richting verkeer afgezet. Waardoor je soms als je met je hond bent weer langs andere honden moet. Ik zelf heb een labrador maar laats was er een hele grote hond binnen die ook nog een nat was en met zijn staart in de pas van de keuken stond te zwaaien. Over duidelijk dat de mensen zonder honden ernaast het niet prettig vonden. Het is een losloop gebied met water maar er kunnen wel bepaalde regels komen over de komst met een hond. Een hele grote hond past gewoon niet binnen. De tafels staan dicht tegen elkaar aan en er is niet veel ruimte voor zulke grote honden. Maak dan buiten een terras met wat heaters en dat de mensen daar met een grote hond kunnen zitten. Verder had ik een warme chocolademelk maar die was niet warm. Ik vind de zelf bediening ook wel heel jammer. Aangezien er mensen met kleine kinderen en honden komen. Als je dan alleen bent zou service aan de tafel wel handig zijn. Ze hebben wel altijd lekkere taartjes en het eten is snel klaar en goed.

A nice restaurant with green views and nice food. The self-service moment that’s not clearly indicated on the menu and the broken toys for little ones spoil the experience a bit. Left me wondering if a self-service solution where you scan a QR code on the table so the staff can focus less on taking orders and more on service would be a possible solution.

Wie bij een wandeling of een evenement (bijvoorbeeld de Kiwanis Paleizenwandeltocht) bij Grand Café Groeneveld belandt, treft een vaak drukke locatie voor een goede bak koffie en bijpassende versnapering, een broodje, salade of lunch. Wat je wellicht over het hoofd ziet is de evenemententak, waarbij je een privédiner of lunch kunt organiseren, met een groep samenkomt en kunt genieten van nóg hoogstaandere gerechten. We hebben er met onze Kiwanisclub een heerlijke lunch genoten met fantastische gerechten en natuurlijk een top service.

Leuke plek, vriendelijk personeel

Erg mooie plek, maar “er wordt nu geen eten geserveerd omdat het te druk is”, vreemde bedoeling op een zaterdagmiddag.

We zijn echt wel vaker geweest, zowel voor als na corona, maar de service is echt heel slecht geworden nadat het sinds coronatijden een zelfbedieningsrestaurant is geworden. Nog steeds prachtig gelegen, maar inmiddels omgeven door grasvelden vol hondenstront. Voor wat te drinkem of gebak sta je ruim een kwartier in de rij om daarna zelf je dienblad vol waren mee naar je tafeltje te brengen. Ok, ok, zelfbediening. Maar als je daarnaast ook je lunch daar wilt genieten, zit je aan je tafeltje een half uur, 3 kwartier te wachten voor het eten komt. Je drankje is dan óf op óf koud, maar voor een nieuw drankje mag je weer de rij in. Voor een tosti ham/kaas, gewoon casino wit een tosti kaas, gewoon casino wot een meergranen bolletje eiersalade een gegrild broodje tonijnsalade uit een bakje een Cola een espresso twee appelsap Betaalden wij €50,- Conclusie: veel te duur voor slechte service en magere kwaliteit.

Jammer dat je niet bediend wordt, zeker als je slecht ter been bent. Daar kwamen we jammer genoeg ook vrij laat achter omdat dat nergens aangegeven wordt. Ook jammer dat er geen kaart op de tafel ligt... kwaliteit was prima, prijs wat aan de hoge kant

Hele mooie locatie op het terrein van kasteel Groeneveld, met mooi weer ligt het terras in de tuin heel goed op de zon! In het weekend wel erg druk en vaak zoeken naar een tafeltje.

Eten: perfect. Service: heel goed. Maar...sfeervol was het niet echt. Wel de locatie op zich, maar het is niet heel sfeervol ingericht.

Zelfbediening verwacht je niet in een grand cafe. Erg duur. De worteltaart was droog. Tosti is blijkbaar alleen 'voor de kleintjes' en moest maar liefst 7,95 kosten! Er staan waterbakken voor de honden maar die waren leeg terwijl het 28 graden was.

Took a walk around the nature and end up having coffee with a lekker broodje in this Cafeteria, what a wonderful place to spend time with a friend specially on sunny days that you can sit outside and enjoy the view.

Eten wordt raar bediend. Frieten zijn het eerst klaar en moeten wachten tot de rest klaar is. Dan zijn ze taai als het onder de eten lamp blijft staan.

We hadden wat gewandeld en een bezoek gebracht aan Kasteel Groeneveld. Daarna lustten we graag een kop koffie met wat zoets erbij. Het was een mooie zonnige voorjaarsdag. Café en bijbehorend terras en tuin zaten bomvol. Toch maar een poging geprobeerd, maar na ruim een kwartier zijn we toch maar weg gegaan. Het was buitengewoon rommelig en ongeorganiseerd. Vergeef mij mijn woorden. Onder rustiger omstandigheden zal het etablissement best wel veel te bieden hebben, want je zit er zonder meer heerlijk. We komen het zéker opnieuw proberen.

After a biking trip I met a friend at the grand cafe next to the Groeneveld castle in Baarn. Kind of semi self service system. Good coffee, nice lunch options, including vegan and vegetarian. The cakes looked good, too, but I had enough with my vegan sandwich and two coffees. Nice place, good location. Several options for a walk around. Toilets clean and for free.

Zelfs in de winter is het er druk. Je mag je hond gewoon mee naar binnen nemen. Prima service, koffie en lunch.

Mooie omgeving, heerlijk zitten met lekker drinken en een heerlijke taart

Mer een grote groep (ca 20 man) hier gelunched, gewandeld en geborreld. Hiervoor is op zolder een grote zaal beschikbaar. Alles stond keurig klaar en de meneer van de catering pleegde keurig overleg met de organisatie van de bijeenkomst. Eten was lekker en voldoende. Adresje om te onthouden!
