La Place in Wijk 01 Baarn-Noord, Eemdal en Eemland

An unpleasant experience. The employee is very friendly, but it makes me uncomfortable. At the checkout, I'm being closely examined from below. He stares at me, smiles, and when I sit at a table, he just stands there with his arms akimbo, watching me. I come here to eat, not to be judged. Such a shame, because the soup and coffee were certainly delicious.

The foundation of a restaurant is really about welcoming your customers. When they opened, nothing was ready. No problem, we walked around for half an hour. After that, only one type of sandwich was ready. The middle-aged woman looked very troubled and didn't even look at us for a second. We stood there wondering if more would be ready soon. I expected the woman to speak to us or to let us know that we were there (an hour after opening time). Finally, I asked if we could order another sandwich. Another young colleague replied that we could! However, the three sandwiches were ready within two minutes, which was understandable, as they had barely any fillings. So I immediately went back to ask if the sandwiches always have so little filling (I know they don't). The woman snapped that it was normal. Too little or too little filling isn't even the issue here. But this woman really shouldn't work in a restaurant. She was extremely rude from start to finish. Maybe she was incredibly stressed. But just a quick glance at your guests, a little help, or a complaint handled properly. Reading the other reviews, I would really advise the management to change something here, because even though we live nearby, this was the last time.

The service wasn't very friendly. The restrooms are dated.

Two hours before closing time, they were already clearing everything out. And the staff who were there didn't even ask if they could help you with anything. Little to no choice. Something I wasn't used to from La Place. Not worth repeating.

I used to be thrilled with the apple pie with whipped cream. Now it's from a can. What a disgrace. It's also an old restaurant. It doesn't look clean either. It's a shame.

It says until 5:30 PM, but in reality they close at 4:00 PM. Nothing is prepared anymore.

This shouldn't be called a "la place"! You're open until 5:30 PM, and the kitchen closes at 4 PM. How do you drive customers away? I ordered a sandwich anyway, but there were hardly any options left. The bread wasn't fresh. Brown lettuce. And they dare to charge €27 for it. Two sausage rolls and a bowl of blackcurrant lettuce and milk. That was the last time I went to this "la place." We went to a TV taping, and other people had these complaints. I don't normally have any complaints about "la place." So, plenty of room for improvement.

Rolls handled with bare hands, no gloves! Flies on the cake! So gross!

Yesterday afternoon – July 16, 2025 – we entered La Place in Baarn, in the Nijhof department store, and a female employee made us wait at the buffet for a while while she, in a foreign language, had a lighthearted discussion with two other people about some bags that were being displayed behind the buffet. Finally, after a relatively long wait, we were noticed and eventually helped, but without an apology for what we considered an "indecent act." Despite this treatment, we still ordered two Latte Macchiatos and two slices of walnut apple pie. When I asked to microwave the walnut apple pie, I was very emphatically told not to do so and that they didn't have a microwave to heat it anyway. When we sat down, we noticed that the nuts on the apple pie were all stuck together and that the apple pie was dry and crumbly; not the fresh, delicious walnut apple pie we're used to at La Place. Because we were desperate for coffee, we decided to have the apple pie. Upon leaving the restaurant, we filed a complaint with the female employee, and she protested with great expression, a raised voice, and very forceful words. In our opinion, this reaction is unworthy of La Place, and it is therefore the worst La Place restaurant in the Netherlands.

The second worst (after Maarsbergen) La Place in the Netherlands can be found in Baarn! Here you can't eat anything after 13:15 and there are even no pastries in stock at this time! Unfortunately, but I think it's over with La Place (only Meerkerk is still reasonable).

No sandwiches available, while it seemed quite quiet. Having it made on the spot went with very little interest, sighing and slow pace. All energy to have a nice lunch was gone immediately. In the meantime, charging high prices.

Unfortunately, an employee did not work hygienically. Several sandwiches had to be made because there was no more stock and touched everything with his hands. I just left. The prices were also quite high. The cappuccino was tasty!

Disinterested staff and very messy

Like going back in time 10 years, visiting the V&D and having lunch after shopping. I had flashbacks!

The tables were filthy. There were hardly any sandwiches available and the prices were starting to become absurd.

What irritates is not being seen when you order something. The cups of coffee (small) were placed on the tray with a routine wave while communicating with a colleague. No saucer, spoon, sugar/sweetener, cookie. No indication where that could be found. No 'have a nice day'. However, the screen showed the price of these 'bare skinny' cups of coffee: €6. They weren't worth it. And the young man? Poorly trained......

Bad experiences! Was told at 4:00 PM that the kitchen was closed and nothing could be ordered anymore.

Nasty and dirty Everything you touch is dirty, everything you see is dirty Cutlery has run out, the staff is all eating together, we will bring cutlery in 10 minutes, sir.. Ok... but now my hamburger sandwich is still warm. Just be patient, man, they say Sad intention, la place Baarn used to be a lot better than it is now...

The quality itself is consistent so you will find good food here. Unfortunately always the same with little variation. What they have is fresh and that is also worth a lot

Located in Nijhof. With the LaPlace app you can get discounts. You can certainly take a break from shopping for a cup of coffee and cake

What a hopeless intention. Standard is pushed here. Of course, that is not the restaurant's fault, but it is also not being properly monitored. You are ignored by default. There are very nice signs saying 'if something is not there, we will make it fresh for you'... nope. You are ignored and ultimately spoken to bluntly. And when you see the prices of things that have NOT been looted, you are still shocked. When I used to take such a tone with guests in the catering industry, it was an immediate dismissal. Apparently 2024 is the year of bad service.

Strange age discrimination. When I'm at the cash register, they suddenly start paying with an elderly person who was far from the cash register. Must have been someone he knew. This disrespectful action caused me stress and took me out of my comfort zone. And that made me drop the food. This is not refundable or replaced.

We have now visited this La Place for the 2nd time in 2 weeks and have only good experiences. It is a nice place to have a meal and/or drink coffee while shopping in Nijhoff. The focaccia with chicken, the apple strudel and the chowder taste fantastic. The staff is friendly. Food that still needs to be prepared is neatly brought to your table and the restaurant looks very clean. Nothing but praise from us.

No more hamburgers at half past twelve. The employee was virtually inaudible, I think she was from Spain. Never again La Place

Staff speaks angrily to each other, very unprofessional. Rolls are getting smaller, but the taste is excellent.

Nothing special. Just handy for when you want to quickly eat or drink something.

Offer was limited but good, tables and chairs not clean. Staff not very assertive and helpful.

De keuze was zeer matig. En weinig beleg. Een broodje zalm kost 6.50 en er ligt maar 1 plakje zalm op het broodje. Erg duur voor weinig.

Weinig keus uit broodjes. Het broodje met zalm was lekker. Ik had alleen voor de prijs van €6.- wel meer zalm verwacht op mijn broodje dan 1 plakje.

Erg prijzig, maar dat is geen geheim. Gember in de thee was erg dik en zo uitgedrood dat er geen smaak meer af kwam. Veel gemiste kansen. Helaas een terugkerend item bij veel La Place restaurants. Als de prijzen lager zouden zijn komt het meer in verhouding met het gebodene.

Gezellig zitten met thee en gebakje Altijd leuk

Koffie en cappuccino waren goed van smaak evenals de appelbol. Het restaurant is schoon en goed ingericht. De bediening is prima.

Het eten is heel lekker en het is een leuke sfeer

Wij waren met een groep en op een doordeweekse dag, het was op dat moment heel rustig. Eten goed en volop keuze, vriendelijk personeel en alles schoon. Aanrader

Leuk restaurant met heerlijke hapjes! Ik had zelf een appeltaart met pistache noten en die was heerlijk! Wel wat hoge prijzen maar dat is te verwachten van La Place! Personeel is super vriendelijk en er is genoeg zitplek!

Heerlijk en rustig gegeten voor een betaalbare prijs

Te weinig op voorraad, zodat er zeer weing keus was. Niet klantvriendelijk.

Kaas- en saucijzenbroodje waren lauw, koffie was ok maar alles bij elkaar zeer sterk aan de prijs. Misschien daarom dat er maar 6 personen in de hele La Place zaten.

Enjoyed our visit and especially the food service and atmosphere stayed slightly behind. Over-all good value for a lunch

Het was erg druk maar toch snel geholpen en alles lekker vers. Was weer super.

Lekker gebak broodjes zacht niet zo lekker uit

Voelt als een bedrijfsrestaurant. Saucijzen waren oud,slap en melig. Dat kan veel beter!

Heeeel triest dat er zoveel al niet meer te krijgen was rond 14:30 uur. Temperatuur was ook niet echt uitnodigend om langer te blijven.

Altijd lekkere broodjes, helaas (voor ons) niet in de buurt.
