Grand Cafe Levels in Wijk 00 Harlingen

We booked a boat trip through Levels (at Vinida boat rental) and received a picnic basket. Before the boat trip, we had a delicious lunch and enjoyed some delicious snacks in the afternoon. After the boat trip, we enjoyed a delicious dessert in the restaurant. A perfect day with threatening skies, but dry weather.

We had a wonderful meal here. Good value for money and friendly staff. The tables aren't too close together and the lighting is pleasant. The menu offers a wide selection. Allergies are well-considered, and there's a wide selection of gluten-free dishes. There's plenty on the plate, and everything is truly delicious.

The Cheesy bun is highly recommended

The food was good, but the tables could have been cleaned more. The service was very friendly and took care of all our needs immediately. We'll be back.

We sat on the terrace for a quarter of an hour and were repeatedly overlooked, with other tables served before us. It's a shame, because good service always keeps an eye on their tables. To be fair, the food looked good.

Well, where do I begin? We waited 50 minutes for our appetizer, which was probably forgotten somewhere in the kitchen. Just as we were about to leave, bread finally arrived. Less than 10 minutes later, we received our main course, which looked and tasted like it had been reheated twice. The meat was bitter and had thick, raw onions in it. As if that wasn't enough, the staff were clearly gossiping. We've often really enjoyed our meal here in the past, but this was the last time. We won't be back, unfortunately!

We've eaten at Levels before, but unfortunately, this was the last time. It was so awful! We waited almost an hour for our starters, and then the food arrived 10 minutes later. The tenderloin had clearly been reheated, had black onions in it, and the taste was really nasty/bitter. There were raw red onions in it, and the fries were fried twice. I expressed my displeasure, but no one really offered a solution. I saw the staff making excuses. It was awful! I won't be coming here again.

It was okay. The food was good, but nothing exceptional, just a bistro. Nice outdoor seating under large umbrellas. Service was friendly, I would have liked to order more drinks, but unfortunately the service wasn't very attentive. I wouldn't go back for a second visit.

Afgelopen week hier heerlijk geluncht. Mijn vrouw was vooral heel erg te spreken over de fish & chips, die buiten de gebaande paden gaat en zeer smakelijk was. Verder vriendelijke bediening en een mooie zaak die her en der enige aandacht verlangd.

Come from elsewhere, but regularly for a day out to Harlingen, for an event or whatever or just for fun. Always take a brisk walk through the city. This time I enjoyed my lunch at Grand Café Levels and opted for Carpaccio/brown bread. Excellent for that price! Personally, I would like to see some more 'decoration', such as more fresh vegetables, sun-dried tomato segments, olives, etc. Additional price of approximately € 3.50...? Top! Conveniently located on the Grote Bredeplaats in the center. Large attached terrace. Pleasant, attractive interior. Everything tip top clean and tidy including the toilets. Friendly and smooth service. In short, a pleasant introduction. Definitely worth a repeat visit. Ed Jansen

We were recommended the restaurant across the street when we were spontaneously in Harlingen and wanted to eat a good burger. You can put together your own burger here (you are given a card to tick off the respective ingredients). We ordered a fish burger and a meat burger with different dressing, both were really tasty. As usual, there were also fries that were nice and not too greasy, plus mayo. My dry white wine, however, was a bit boring and tasted a bit watery, but otherwise we were satisfied with the food and the price-performance ratio was also good! The service was quick, all the employees were very pleasant and attentive, overall a good burger shop with a good selection and a cozy atmosphere.

Very nicely decorated restaurant and a nice atmosphere. Had a High Cocktail tonight which was tasty with a nice variety of cocktails. The only point of note is that the service was a bit distracted tonight by 'friends/acquaintances' at the bar and that they were mainly talking and standing with their backs to you. We wanted to order something else, but after more than fifteen minutes we left it at that and went home.

Food was delicious but unfortunately very lukewarm when it arrived. You saw it standing on the kitchen counter for a long time while the staff chatted. It was resolved nicely with a drink from the company. Location and interior very attractive. Recommended!

Spontaneously made a stop in Harlingen and discovered this restaurant while looking for a chip shop. We had burgers, which I highly recommend. You can put your own burger together so everyone can have their own burger the way they like it. The service was very good and quick, the burgers (medium) were very good, the fries were as they should be: crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. For €15 you can't complain.

So that turned out to be a bench where the three of us had to put a plate on our laps to eat? That seemed strong to me, but there was no room, they said. Had dinner with you on Sunday, a winter plate. It was inedible, a lump of tasteless cold rice, a container of beets and tough strings swimming in the oil. 3 carrots that were not properly cleaned. Bij binnenkomst is het inderdaad wel erg gehorig en redelijk rumoerig maar daar wen je ook wel aan. Het is tenslotte een grand cafe op een zaterdagavond 17.30. Een enkeling praat lacht of gilt harder dan nodig is maar dat heb je overal. Wij 2 (46) en zoon (18) hebben er echt voortreffelijk gegeten. Voor hoofd en na. Voorgerecht ribvingers en proeverij voor 2 en als hoofd hadden wij biefstuk/Scandinavische meats/levels kapsalon. Nagerecht proeverij voor 2 en warme cheesecake. Daarnaast diverse heerlijke cocktails en drankjes. Alles was goed gekruid, heerlijk gebakken en lekker warm waar het warm moest zijn. Wachttijd was naar ons idee prima voor hoe druk het was. 0,0 klachten. Wij komen zeker terug❤

1x cappuccino and 1x coffee, bill was 8.50 euros. They added an extra cappuccino for us. 😡😡😡 We only saw this at home when we checked the website to see if it was indeed 8.50 euros. There was a man sitting behind us who also received a cappuccino, but had not ordered it, so it was easy to just order it from someone else. table to add 😡😡😡😡

Definitely five stars for Levels restaurant! My experience here was great, despite having read some poor reviews before, and I'm very glad I went anyway. The food was nothing short of fantastic. The chicken thigh was so tender it literally fell off the stick - perfectly prepared and full of flavour. And the kapsalon was an absolute surprise: the addition of Parmesan cheese and truffle gave the dish a luxurious twist and a unique taste that you don't find everywhere. The cocktails are also recommended; every cocktail was flavorful and beautifully presented. What also stood out was the fast and super friendly service. The team works with attention and you really feel welcome. This restaurant definitely deserves more praise! I recommend Levels to anyone who likes good food, great service and a cozy atmosphere.

De serveerster die ons in eerste instantie hielp was niet erg spraakzaam. En toen liet ze tot overmaat van ramp ook nog een vol dienblad vallen, rode wijn over mijn jas. Kan allemaal gebeuren, maar er kon geen sorry af. En ik moest maar witte wijn over mijn jas gooien, boos ben ik naar de bar gelopen, daar ben ik vriendelijk te woord gestaan en de stomerij kosten zouden worden betaald. Alles netjes door gemaild maar tot op heden nog niets ontvangen. Jammer ik ben erg teleurgesteld in Levels.

Excellent restaurant in the heart of Harlingen. In addition to a cozy and attractive indoor area, they also have a beautiful large terrace. The menu is simple and small (but with very reasonable prices). My carpaccio and schnitzel tasted excellent. I only didn't like the sauce with the schnitzel (it was not a pepper sauce as indicated). Staff is very friendly and hospitable! Recommended if you are in Harlingen!

Tijdens de visserijdagen op aanraden hier 's avonds een diner genomen. Leuke zitjes. Jammer dat de DJ de volumeknop op maximaal liet staan. Heb gevraagd om binnen te zitten met 3 personen. Had gezien dat er een tafeltje vrij was. Volgens personeel bezet. Dus buiten plekje gezocht. Apart is dat de rest van de avond de tafel in restaurant leeg bleef! Menukaart met verrassende ingrediënten. Het duurde eventjes voordat de gerechten op tafel kwamen. Van de 3 verschillende gerechten was alleen de kapsalon Levens die er mee door kon.

Had dinner here in the evening on recommendation during the fishing days. Nice seating areas. Too bad the DJ left the volume knob at maximum. I asked to sit inside with 3 people. I saw that there was a table available. Busy according to staff. So looked for a spot outside. What's strange is that the restaurant table remained empty for the rest of the evening! Menu with surprising ingredients. It took a while before the dishes arrived on the table. Of the 3 different dishes, only Levens' hair salon was successful.

Met in a beautiful new meeting room at Grand Cafe Levels. Very comfortable with a warm appearance. Friendly staff. Everything very well taken care of. And yes, Harlingen is of course also just beautiful!

Ate for the first and last time. Waiting 1.5 hours while the staff in the kitchen look at each other. Giant schnitzel was a mini variant. Reasonable to eat. Fries brown and fried too hard. Not to be eaten. Salad was decent. There's a stump in there. Had to pay 20 euros. 10 was enough. Tip; if.you want good food, run past this restaurant.

Sat on the terrace at Levels during the day in Harlingen. Just a nice cozy terrace with nice service and a pleasant atmosphere. Had a pulled pork sandwich for lunch. This was a delicious sandwich.

Nice ladies in the service. Nice spot outside on the terrace with a nice sun and cozy atmosphere. And absolutely delicious food. We had the "Kapsalon" (with sweet potato fries and pulled pork) and "Truffle Chicken Waffle" (Waffles with pulled pork and truffle mayonnaise). Definitely highly recommended!

The food tastes very good! However, the quality of service today was very slow. (Hope it was a one-off, because we would like to come again for dinner) We waited almost 45 minutes for service to come again. There was also more than 30-35 minutes between the starter and the main course. The very heavy humming sound of the beer installation was also a pity. We sat at the tables at the front of the store, next to the installation. You could just feel the windows around the installation shaking. Very annoying and disruptive!

A lovely pavement restaurant where we stopped for drinks in the morning. In the afternoon we returned for lunch. Not speaking Dutch, we had to have a guess with the menu. We ended up with a chicken burger and fries, the chicken having a tasty coating. Also a pulled pork burger which was also delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was shelter round the tables on the pavement, leading to comfortable outside eating. A great find.

Food (Lunch) was ok, but service could be much better. Friendly enough, but not very efficient/experienced. Don't ask what you want to order or clear the tables. We sat there at the table between 4 empty tables with all the rubbish still on it, which had not been cleared for more than fifteen minutes. The same with our own table. The food was fine but the experience was unfortunately not great.

We visited this cafe yesterday and drank 2 coffee specials (with liqueur and whipped cream). The ambience was very inviting and there is an outside terrace, protected from the wind and protected by parasols. The service was very friendly about our requests and quickly came to the table with delicious coffees. I can definitely recommend it.

Levels is a modern and very attractive grand cafe in the center of Harlingen. For us it was the start and end point of a game walking tour through this beautiful, historic port city, but we stayed for lunch afterwards. Delicious dishes, cozy atmosphere and - not unimportant - friendly, happy service! I think that's a real plus.
