Grand Café LUST in Nijkerk-stad

The Lust burger and the spare ribs are really insanely delicious.

The lunch menu offered limited choices, with almost no vegetarian options except for a portobello mushroom. For me, it was more of a dinner option, not a lunch option. You had to ask twice for the lunch menu; it should just be on the table. The staff didn't have much time to answer any questions.

Had a wonderful evening with 21 colleagues. The food and drinks were delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Had a party here... Friendly service and the 12 o'clock meal tasted great.

€65 for cold ham with an overpowering sauce, a club sandwich with dry/soft bread, and a €21 burger that was “okay” but not for the price.

Always good. Too bad the terrace only has sun in the morning. On scorching hot days that is a plus.

Lust is located in a nice location in the heart of the city center. A very young team. The starters were tasty, but the main courses were a bit disappointing. The spareribs were cooked, grilled and reheated for so long that the bones were literally loose, so gnawing was not possible.

Too bad, when the atmosphere on a terrace is dominated by a number of very annoying noisy people. The service can't do anything about it, they did their utmost to keep everything on track!! My top hat goes off to the ladies.

On a weekday evening the team has a lot of attention and neatly explains what is served. For non-Dutch people there is an English menu available :). A little bit pricey but the presentation is definitely worth it! Also tastes very good and different from the standard burgers or salads in 'normal' restaurants. Definitely recommended to try.

Had a delicious meal at Lust on Saturday evening. Restaurant was almost full, cozy. Service was smooth and friendly. We were patient when we wanted a break between dishes. Provided explanations for choices. The dishes were beautifully presented, good portions and deliciously fresh and well prepared. Many different beers on tap and various wines. Delicious food, with a cozy atmosphere.

Een prachtige plek voor lunch, diner of whatever! Wij genoten er van een goede klassieke clubsandwich en van de gezelligheid met lekker bakje koffie erbij en cappuccino. En de kleindochters willen ook nog even graaien in de grabbelton v klanten. Want ook aan hen wordt gedacht bij Lust! Kortom gezelligheid voor iedereen.

Good place to eat out, but also absolutely recommended just for a drink! The service is friendly, the food is very good and they have both a beer and wine list. You look out over the central square of Nijkerk.

Tijdens prachtige lente avond genoten van diner bij Lust. We hadden een mooie plek i d serre en begonnen met een glas Ultima rosé bij de courgette soep en de tataki van bavette. Beiden heerlijk bereid en goed op smaak. Na een pauze kregen we ons hfd gerecht t.w. sateh en Veluwse eendenborst en ook daar smaakte de Ultima prima bij. Omdat we beiden vol zaten v h heerlijke eten, paste er alleen nog een bak heerlijke koffie bij. Waarmee we deze culinaire avond afsloten om snel weer terug te komen!

5 gangen verrassingsmenu van de chef met wijn arrangement gekozen en we hebben genoten. Leuke en lekkere gerechten met fijne bijpassende wijnen. Super avond

Fijne bediening heel lekker gegeten. Fijne sfeer! We hadden een leuk tafeltje in de serre. Ik kom hier graag nog een keer terug!

Service poor, we had to wait 2 hours for our lunch, it was busy but the waitress was always talking to someone. Our lunch was ready, but she was too busy talking and not very cheerful.

We hadden eend, perfect rosé gebakken, lekkere frietjes erbij en een glas goede wijn. De dames waren geduldig met ons want we hebben veel gekletst. Echt fijne bediening en gezellige sfeer!

Gekozen voor het 5 gangen chef's menu. Alle 5 de gerechten waren fantastisch, complimenten aan de chef. Fijne bediening, het was een gezellige avond.

Plezierige ontvangst en vlotte bediening. Het glas met port was krap gevuld, de smaak van de Chardonnay was middelmatig. De wisselende soep, de dag dat wij er waren was dat bloemkool en kerrie, en de steak tartaar waren prima. Daarentegen waren zowel de bavette als de eendenborst (die ten dele meer rood dan rosé was) aan de taaie kant, ook al was de smaak van beide in orde. De portsaus bij de eendenborst was voortreffelijk. Gelukkig smaakte de rode wijn (pinot noir) beter dan de Chardonnay. Als je lekker wilt eten zonder hoogstandjes tegen een billijke prijs dan is dit een goed adres, maar stel de eisen niet al te hoog.

De ingang was wat onpersoonlijk, gevoel van via de zijdeur, maar verder was alles prima. Snelle, vlekkeloze service. Prijzen in verhouding met de kwaliteit. Goede atmosfeer.

Heerlijke lunch, prijs is echt heel goed voor het eten wat je krijgt. Was hier al vaker geweest en het in zeker weten een aanrader.

Na eerdere prima ervaringen hadden we het gisteravond niet zo goed getroffen. Vooraf hadden we beide de varkenshaas carpacio. De smaak was prima maar het vlees was erg glibberig en daardoor slecht te kauwen. Wat iets hielp was het behoorlijk fijn te snijden. Bleef glibberig maar het werd wel beter om door te slikken. Als hoofdgerecht hadden we beide de varkenshaas saté. Deze was mals maar echt te droog een doorbakken. Het leek wel alsof het voorgegaard was en daarna even op een hete grill afgemaakt. Dit vermoeden doordat de buitenkant niet zover was qua uiterlijk tov de droge doorbakken binnenkant. Zonde van het lekkere stukje vlees. Ook was het behoorlijk zout. Het was wel voldoende om nog op te eten maar de verwachting was duidelijk hoger. Dit alles wel doorgegeven en we kregen een gratis kop koffie of thee aangeboden. Dat was dan wel weer netjes. Resultaat is dat we niet meer blind voor Lust kiezen als we weer in de buurt uit eten willen.

Gezellig en sfeervol restaurant in het centrum van Nijkerk. Vriendelijke bediening, lekker en voor een goede prijs gegeten.

This Grand Café is a feast for the eyes in the middle of Nijkerk along a small canal. Trendy and classic at the same time. Good Burger and striking club sandwich with sourdough bread. In the market heart of the town of Nijkerk lies 'Lust': lust for coffee, lust for food.

Het meest bezochte grand café van Nijkerk, waar je uitstekend terecht kunt voor een borrel, lunch of een grandioos diner. Maar je kunt er ook prima een feestje geven, of gewoon genieten van een broodje beenham met Dion mosterd, lekker pittig. Top team aangestuurd door Robert, tot 1000 man kan hier terecht!

Ik vind de sate super ! En niet te vergeten de Tripel d'Anvers van de tap is heerlijk!! Mooie serre met uitzicht op het marktplein.

Was heel gezellig, erg fijne sfeer, vriendelijk personeel, snelle bediening en niets was ze te veel, aanrader dus!!!!

9/11/24 Enjoyed a delicious dinner here with my brother-in-law, there is a delicious game menu. And that's fantastic. Started with a deer rillette, followed by a deer brisket, super prepared and well flavoured. Matching dessert, a good glass of French merlot and rosé, what more could you want, that's enjoyment! And this can also be seen with 100% of the restaurant's staff. Robert has an excellent team in all facets, with attention to every customer. No competition at this level in the center. Keep it up!

Heerlijk gegeten en de bediening was opvallend goed en attent. Wij vroegen een ander tafeltje op een iets rustigere plek omdat mij 85 jarige moeder erbij was. Deze was niet beschikbaar, maar later na het voorgerecht kwamen ze melden dat wij nu wel konden wisselen, heel attent.

Just walked in for dessert, simple but delicious, apples with caramel, nice home-baked crisps made it complete. Friendly service that pays close attention. The homemade orangecello is highly recommended. Will definitely come back again

Hebben hier even geluncht, een curry soep en een club sandwich. Met een lekkere earl grey en cappuccino, die zijn hier wel goed. Hoewel de thee iets anders smaakte, zei mijn vrouw. Maar de soep en sandwich waren heerlijk. We komen hier regelmatig , vanwege de kookkunst en sfeer.

I was disappointed with the steak tartare. It was actually just seasoned minced meat and an onion. It should be made from freshly cut steak. The promised egg was also missing. The hamburger sandwich was delicious. The waiter was quite on top of the drinks. As soon as you put your empty glass on the table, he was next to you again asking if you wanted to order something. Came across as a bit pushy and unpleasant. I heard several people around me telling him that they would call out themselves. Furthermore, there is a pleasant terrace on the square.

Atmosphere and service very good. Unfortunately the food was not. I had a delicious starter and it boded well. That was a pulled pork sandwich and as a main course I ordered a surf and turf. I think, if I'm not mistaken, it's the most expensive dish on the menu. The plate was beautifully served with vegetables, shrimp, steak and a sauce. The steak was too well done (I could return it if I wanted) but I was too modest for that. Finally, I also had the shrimp. The shrimp tasteless...actually it was both a bit rubbery and I didn't eat it. After paying I went to the toilet and walked past the kitchen. They had the most fun there and in the toilet adjacent to the kitchen you could hear conversations through the wall. Then I thought for a moment, well, if you focus more on cooking, it will probably taste better. Anyway, we won't go here anymore. Waste of money

Had dinner here with our niece and friends last night. Sirloin steaks were ordered, and I ordered the steak. That was a disappointment. Taste what it should be like there. Not worth repeating for us. Downright substandard.

Great Beers, served by nice Ladies

Before I start talking about the food. The beer list has no prices. Unsuspectingly, I just ordered half a liter of weizen. In the end they turned out to be more than 10 euros per glass. Although they did fall off the bone, it wasn't very good. The taste of the meat itself was not really present, nor was it a good grill taste or anything. Very average, nothing special. Moreover, it was not spicy at all. Furthermore, it is really a nice and cozy tent, but there is really more to it! For this time I was in doubt between 2 and 3 stars, but the beer price really brought this to 2 stars. Shame.

The former Regthuys, but now a real Grand Café. New owner, new look, new menu... Everything about LUST is new. The atmosphere is great and there is plenty of space outside, in the conservatory and inside to enjoy all the goodies they have to offer. Beautiful central location in Nijkerk on the square and easily accessible wherever you come from. Definitely worth experiencing! And a truly deserved 5 out of 5 stars. Update: 6-6-2024: After not being here for a few years, my wife and I decided to have dinner here again to celebrate our 16 year wedding anniversary. Changes: the menu had now changed, but nothing else. Still the same top quality food, service and atmosphere. The food was finger-licking good, I chose the ciabatta with ham, topped with a honey mustard sauce. Well I can tell you, it is more than worth it. My wife had a ciabatta with salmon, super fresh, super Eijk topped and also superior in taste (she told me). In other words: still 5 out of 5 stars! Not only worth a visit but almost a must if you want to eat something in the center of Nijkerk!

We ended up here based on reviews. The restaurant looks neat and it is pleasantly busy. We were disappointed with the dishes, pricey and of poor quality.
