Great restaurant and good food, the waiters were kind and with lots of patience

I had made a reservation in my name the day before for a special occasion and requested coffee and pastries. This was explicitly promised. Upon arrival the next day, it turned out there was barely enough pastry left. This was not resolved professionally by the owner; he had an employee handle the problem and subsequently offered nothing more to apologize.

Had a delicious meal, friendly staff, and a really beautiful place. Perhaps the nicest one in Valkenswaard!

Located right in the heart of Valkenswaard, this is a wonderful café with a perfect location. It’s one of my favorite places to stop for a drink and take a break. Especially on sunny days, sitting outside and enjoying the atmosphere is a real pleasure. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and the service is nice. I tried the oysters paired with a glass of Chardonnay, and I was surprisingly impressed. The oysters were incredibly fresh and delicious, and the presentation was beautifully done with great attention to detail. I highly recommend this place, whether you’re looking for a relaxing drink, a pleasant terrace, or simply a great place to spend some time in the center of Valkenswaard.

We stopped here on the last evening of our vacation. The service was incredibly friendly, even though they were very busy. There were one or two minor delays. But in the important situations, like getting our child their food quickly and having their basic needs met promptly, the service was excellent. The food was outstanding. Superb meat. Very high quality. And wonderfully prepared. We had absolutely nothing to complain about. The interior ambiance is also beautiful. Outside, where we sat, it was fascinating for our little one to see all the cars. We're so glad we ate here on the last evening of our vacation. A perfect ending!

As an adult, I received a children's spaghetti…

We have gluten and lactose allergy. We couldn’t fine anything lactose free for my daughter. We was planning to leave but the waiter was really helpful. They arranged for my daughter special sushi. Top service and good atmosphere. The food is brilliant. I can just offer for everyone. Thank you☺️

A fantastic café, also offering savory dishes that taste absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere, beautiful interior design. As German guests, the staff went out of their way to communicate with us, since I unfortunately speak very little Dutch. Top-notch service. If you're in the area, a visit here is definitely worthwhile.

Nice place, good food. Portions a bit on the small side for men, like pork belly or a piece of lamb... Otherwise, a nice atmosphere. Staff very polite and professional! It's also very nice that they speak Dutch.

"Disgusting Avocado burger" We always order Avocado burger as take away from you guys and we really love this burger, As today we ordered same but sorry to say it was disgusting as it has got no taste no flavors.

We stopped there today for lunch on our bike ride. The atmosphere is truly fantastic; the place is truly impressive. We treated ourselves to a few burgers, and I have to say, McDonald's would have been a better alternative :( The meat was really bad and looked like it was frozen. The fries, on the other hand, were very tasty. However, at a price of over €20, I expect the meat to be of better quality. I definitely wouldn't go back, at least not when it comes to the burgers.

Apparently, this is where Valkenswaard's wannabe elite gathers to demonstrate just how unelite they truly are. The atmosphere is artificial, pretentious, and utterly unwelcoming. The service is the worst: especially one waitress who—despite her small stature—walks around as if her father were the king of the Netherlands. Arrogant, condescending, and completely unprofessional. As if she's doing you a favor by taking your order. The food? Forgotten before you've even eaten it. Mediocre quality for an exorbitant price. Not a shred of genuine hospitality in sight.

Alone, I'd arranged to meet her, but it turned out she had cancer. We ended up enjoying ourselves, asking for the menu. We spoke to lots of nice people, and I wanted to order hippie fish. It didn't work out, so she called. There and then, I know the owner, and a woman answered the phone. With a friendly greeting, "I'm sitting on the terrace, enjoying myself, great!" So nice, I was exhausted, and they cheered me up. Thanks to the staff, the customers, who spoke to me, or vice versa. Did my dinner companion promise to come back? Metastatic cancer, devastated, probably. Praying, maybe it will help. Arrange a different dinner companion, I don't date. It has to be classy, ​​the dress code, it'll be fine. Nice place to relax after cycling

My friend and I went to sit on the terrace here a while ago to have a bite to eat. After 20 minutes we still hadn't been asked what we wanted to order. After having a drink we asked for the bill. Of course it can always happen that it is suddenly busy or that there is a shortage of staff, but this took a very long time... Even people who came later were helped first (acquaintances of the restaurant). It seems to me that as a grand café you want to help new guests, but that turned out to be too high an expectation. For us not again markt 14!!

Classy place but not awkward. You feel comfortable. Nice music, with the right volume. Generous portions. If you pass by here, it is worth stopping.

Large cozy terrace in the sun. Nice round benches to sit comfortably. Friendly, smooth service. Enjoyed latte macchiatos, a luxurious pastry, an egg roll and finally a nice glass of wine and a ginger beer. The interior is also attractively and chicly decorated. Definitely recommended!

Delicious dinner tonight. The tournedos, the truffle risotto with tenderloin tips and the veal tenderloin were delicious! Recommended. 1x dessert Mini Magnum was also much appreciated. Friendly service. Recommended.

I ate salmon with risotto and it was very delicious. It might be the best salmon I've had in a long time, espicially with the sauce. The presentation and atmosphere were also excellent!

Located on a corner of a square in Valkenswaard where the sun rises longest at the end of the afternoon. It's wonderful to drink a few beers here with the sun on your face, have good conversations and watch people. Unfortunately it closes at 11pm on Saturday evenings. It is also nice to sit with a drink in the evening thanks to the patio heating and nice seating areas.

We didn't realize that it was a busy Saturday in Valkenswaard, but we were lucky and found a seat on the terrace at market 14. We had some snacks and a nice glass of wine. Snacks were tasty and sufficient. The service was very friendly. We'll go back again.

We had a lovely relaxed meal at Markt 14. We sat at the back of the shop, with music as background noise. Atmospheric upholstery, subdued lighting, with an AMAZINGly delicious lunch. I personally opted for the Goat Cheese salad with beetroot chutney walnuts | sweet and sour beetroot | apple | crouton | passion fruit gel. Really, super delicious. Wednesday lunchtime, the place was completely packed, and I totally get it!! The place to be 🥰

A super cozy atmosphere, very nice and caring staff, everything is perfect. If you order, it will be on the table within a minute, everything is equally delicious 😋 This owner understands how to run a business. My compliments for this. Nice and cozy restaurant and delicious food. The beef tataki was delicious. The truffle burger was tasty, but even though the menu said it was with truffle cream (instead of real truffle), there was very little truffle flavor. The high tables on the left are not very comfortable, you cannot put your feet on the floor and the footrests on the chair and the table are too high, causing you to sit with your knees drawn up. We therefore asked for a low table when booking, which unfortunately was not available, but the service was very attentive, because when a low table became available we were given the option to move.

Yesterday (8-6) the four of us just arrived after a wonderful bike ride. First on the terrace where we felt welcome so we asked if we could have a bite to eat inside. An option was offered until a certain time, which was no problem for us. Without rushing, we enjoyed what we were presented with with excellent service (chapeau) after which we could make our return journey to Capelle a/d IJssel and Zoetermeer. Top notch everyone.

Ate twice and both times: fan-tas-tic. Tasty good wines, a nice atmosphere (although I sometimes find the music a bit too busy), excellent staff and really high-quality delicious food.!!!!. It's a bit on the expensive side, but it's worth it... everything is delicious. The starters, the main courses, the desserts. (We had the tuna tataki & vitello tonato, beef tataki, cauliflower soup and as a main course the oriental beef tenderloin salad and I had the tournedos with red port gravy with grilled vegetables as a side dish. Wowwww that chicory...!!!!. And super meat. Really. I'll definitely return.!!!.

Nice cozy restaurant with nice service. We had reserved a table but it was still occupied. Of course you can't do anything about that. At the owner's request we had to wait outside on the terrace. Once outside we waited 20 minutes until the table was "empty". When we walked in, the people were gone, but everything on the table was still there, including used toothpicks.... The table was neatly cleaned and we could start enjoying it. Nice and extensive menu with sufficient variety. The dishes you get are enough to make you go home with a satisfied feeling. Although I would personally choose to serve just a little more for the price, which is on the high side and not entirely in proportion to the amount of food you get. The atmosphere was cozy and again very nice service... worth repeating.

What a beautiful and cozy grand café

Delicious food in attractive surroundings. Table for three with plenty of room by the window. Being able to chat at our leisure, staff regularly asks if we can still drink 🥂. The menu is extensive, something for everyone. At our table there was no choice, lots of goodies, but in the end we had to make a choice. Recommended. Parking behind the market, plenty of space. The market itself is becoming more and more pleasant, with a terrace at Markt14 in the summer.
