My group of friends absolutely loved our visit to Greenwood’s Singel! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding; fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavour (one of the best breakfasts we had in Amsterdam). Great drinks, generous portions, and a relaxed vibe by the canal sat under a heater outside; make this place a must-visit. Can’t wait to come back! Be sure to be early at opening time as the queues can be long - we got lucky and were seated straight away.

Very cozy place. The stuff was so kind and always smilling. I had espresso, budha’s secret tea and Benedict eggs-so tasty And the espresso mugs I loved so much … so original 😍 Recommend this place .

Quality food. A bit on the pricey side but worth it for a quality meal. It can get a bit busy but there's enough seats plus outdoor ones if the weather's decent.

Just back from amsterdam and found this lovely little gem of a place for a really good "english" breakfast with a "dutch" twist. (rest of the menus looks pretty delicious too). We actually sat outside as it's quite snug inside and gets really busy but despite it being december, they have a canopy with heat lamps so was really warm and comfortable.. they even have blankets if you need some extra insulation. Breakfast was amazing, portions were generous and everything was cooked to perfection. Girls on service are lovely, welcoming and warm hearted. Will definitely be back again next time we visit.

They let me use their bathroom in an emergency. I cant say anything about the food but cool atmosphere

Really nice seating are with canal view and heating outside but no smoking is allowed. The waitress was super kind and friendly. The French toast was delicious but I think it was a bit dry. The New York pastrami order was nice but average overall, the extra potato cake was nice and crunchy . Banana chocolate pancakes were super fluffy and filling. 1 person tea was enough for 2 people and it was very tasty. I would definitely come again!

Good service, best breakfast in Amsterdam, quiet but nice vibe inside and out.

I’d passed by this spot so many times, always seeing the long queues, and finally decided to try it. We got a table almost immediately and the service was friendly and efficient. The food and drinks however were really below average. I’m sad to say that my veggie plate looked like a school canteen meal / or 1 star hotel buffet compilation. Everything- including the poached eggs - tasted as if it had been cooked a few hours ago and was just kept warm. It was dry and overcooked. My friend who chose the pancake said it had a salty taste and another’s latte was overly sweet. Pity because it looks like a cosy spot from outside.

If you're coming to Amsterdam and want a great brunch, you've come to the right place. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated, but it wasn't a problem since the service and food made up for the relatively small space. I recommend the soups; they're very good!

great Matcha + yummy breakfast!

I was walking around looking for Hiba's breakfast restaurant, and I found a line that was longer than my life, so I kept walking and went into this restaurant. There was another line too, but it was okay. I waited a bit, and they served me faster because there was only one other person there. The service was slow, and we sat outside because indoor seating wasn't allowed during breakfast and brunch, even though it was sunny. I ordered eggs Benedict with a slice of smoked salmon. It was okay, but not amazing. The price was reasonable.

Popped in for breakfast. The French toast was Devine. Lovely welcome and very cosy atmosphere even at breakfast time.

The breakfast was just okay, nothing special. I tried the egg benedict and the shakshuka, and on top of that, they added items to the bill that I hadn't ordered. When I asked for the bill and checked it, it turned out I was right... and she said, "Oh, it must have been a mistake!" 🤣

Nice breakfast. The place is very small, with tables crammed together. We were lucky that a couple was leaving just as we arrived, so we got a table without waiting. The menu is extensive and varied. We ordered two flat whites, which were delicious. Then I ordered the eggs Benedict with hash browns (it literally came with half a hash brown for an extra 3.50, not worth it) and my friebd ordered the veggie. Both dishes were tasty, and the portions were generous.

Coming here for breakfast, great taste of food with a super warm service.. little bit cramped when busy time but it's worth to coming back

Truly exceptional in every way, the food was delicious, and the service deserves 10 stars, not five. They were truly kind and punctual, and the girl who served us was always available and smiling. They even offered us extra drinks to make up for a small mistake—that's definitely not for everyone! Congratulations ❤️

Good food and good service, will definitely come back!

The poached eggs here are Gordon Ramsay’s wet dream. Absolute finesse. We ordered pancakes and pulled chicken item on the menu and it tasted great. The chicken was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The poached eggs on the top when slit open were oozing liquid creamy yolk. The blueberry pancakes a perfect amalgamation of fluffness, tangy from the blueberry compote and sweet from the maple syrup. The service? Exactly what you would need in the winter mornings, like a warm sunshine. We were lucky to get the table as soon as we arrived as people were lining up after. Even though we sat outside the heating was enough to keep us cozy.

Really nice brunch spot in the center. In the warmer months there is seating outdoors, otherwise there is a medium-size indoor dining area. There will likely be a wait during busy times, as can happen especially in nicer weather, but the experience is worth it. The place is cute and comfortable, and usually plays good music. There is a decent size menu with a good variety of brunch options both standard and some with unique twists. I have been here a few times and have to say each dish I have tried was very well done, including the presentation, which I don't see too often at such a reasonable price. On that note, the pricing is fair for a location this close in to the center of the city. I have been to several brunch restaurants in the area serving lower quality for higher prices. The New Amsterdam Benedict is a surprising combination of flavors that really works well for a hearty brunch dish. The coffee is also reliably good. They usually have some fun drink specials as well. The servers are very nice, helpful, and attentive. Really an all-around nice experience if you are near the center and looking for a tasty brunch.

THE BEST! Most delicious brunch you can have in Amsterdam! Eggs benedict on different styles, try the Amsterdam version,is fantastic or the chilli quesadilla. Always fresh bread!! We ate there 4 days in a row. Do you like Shakshuka? Look no more->this is the most yummy version with feta cheese. Staff is the most friendliest it can get! Is there a waiting line to get in? Amazing experience! A friend and I went for breakfast during our stay in Amsterdam, and what can I say except that it was perfect? First of all, the waitresses were incredibly kind, smiling, and attentive! In addition to being pleasant, the service was efficient. ☺️ Then, let's talk about the food. It was the best meal we had during our entire trip. Special mention goes to the eggs Benedict with salmon, which were divine! And the pancakes with red berries and cream were simply excellent (a few more blueberries would have been perfect). It was generous and delicious 😋 Go without hesitation, and if you go on a Sunday, arrive around 9:00 or 9:30 if you don't want to wait 😊

Cozy and fragrant, with the feeling that you’re cared for with love. The food tastes fresh and wonderfully homemade. The staff is lovely, and the view of the canal gives the place a magical atmosphere.

I would like to specially thank Claudia for her service and support! The food is delicious and the service is amazing. There was a queue and the place is small so we wanted to stop but the woman insisted we wait and arranged a table for us and the stroller for the baby. When we left it was raining heavily so she made us wait in a better place until it calmed down. This kind of service makes you come back a million times❤️

Spoiler: you need to wait outside to get a spot but hold on, do it, its worth it. I don’t know if I had better eggs Benedict in my entire life (they were so good I didn’t catch a photo of them). The place is very cozy and homy. And the staff is amazing.

This cozy little spot took about 20 minutes to get a table, but it was totally worth it! It’s a fantastic place in the lovely city of Amsterdam, with a unique vibe that really shines through in its quality and taste. The eggs Benedict are amazing, Buddha’s tea is super flavorful, and those pancakes (which I totally forgot to snap a pic of) were delicious!

I came here for a brunch ,the restaurant is a bit cozy so be prepared to wait in queue if come at popular time .I had american style benedict which was delicious and service was quick and friendly.

Don't go there hungry; go hungry. I waited in the cold by the canal for more than 20-25 minutes. (The waiting area is across from the shop). I ordered the English breakfast, which wasn't bad. I should check out their other branches. They have 2-3 more locations.

Fine tuned to British taste buds for any homesick tourists. In spite of that the brunch was excellent, filling, delicious and well balanced. Great choice and on e of the better sources of tea in the city. It's tiny so be prepared to wait. Huge respect to the staff that capably handled all the rude customers.

This is a great breakfast place. We came by on our last morning before boarding a river cruise ship later in the day. We both had the classic Benedict but they have a good selection of other Benedicts and other items as well. Ours was excellent. The place was crowded. We got here right before several others came by. We had a small wait. It's a small place but there are several tables inside and more outside. Because it was raining, we sat inside but the outdoor seating, right beside the canal would be great. Great service.

The food was amazing. The girl who served us was very friendly and fast. The place was crowded so I guess booking can be a good idea. There are vegetarian options and lactose free options. The menu offers big plates for brunch which can be considered a lunch. Matcha latte with oat milk was supe good. It's in front of the canal so nice view outside

10/10 fantastic experience. The food was great and not too pricy for the location and the portions were quite big too. The menu is small but the dishes are really well made with locally sourced ingredients and the staff is an utter joy! The service was incredible and the atmosphere was great. One small downside is that the place is quite small so it might get a bit crowded/ you may need to make a reservation.

Super breakfast!!! Given the excellent reviews, we decided to try this place for breakfast. It offers a wide selection, from sweet to savory. We had truly excellent royal eggs: poached eggs covered in cheese on a bed of salmon. The carrot cake was also delicious. Not to be missed...

Wonderful brekkie with super friendly service! Tables by the canal and it gets busy even on a weekday. Eggs were cooked perfectly and sour dough is toasted just right. Coffee is not the best I’ve had but standard with typical European prices.

We went here on a saturday morning and it was quite full. Be prepared to wait 10-20 min depending on the line. We wanted to sit outside but there was no place. You can also not make reservations it is walk-in only. For the food we ordered english breakfast and something like eggs royale(one with salmon). I liked the english breakfast it was very filling but the home made bread really disappointed me. I also believe the dish could have been more flavorful. Eggs royale was good.

Cute little cafe that doesn't take reservations and only accepts walk-ins. Great food, well made and nicely presented. Good coffee, too. It's quite popular so come early.

Great location and such a friendly staff

The cafe is cosy and the service was initially very prompt and friendly. The food and coffee was just what I expected, was reasonably quick to come out and of good quality. Why have I knocked a few marks off…. Because when it came time to pay she put the machine in front of me which prompted me to tip, I clicked no tip (not because I thought the food and service were bad but because I don’t like encouraging the tipping culture in countries where it isn’t expected and people earn a living wage) and when she noticed I didn’t tip she tore off the receipt, dropped it, turned her back then walked off in a huff.

It's a shame. I was eager to try the breakfasts I saw in the reviews. However, my partner, who is on a strict diet as an athlete in training, asked if it was a problem if she ate her own food and would only have a glass of plant-based milk. They simply gave us a negative response, not even bothering to ask or try to reach an agreement. Terrible customer service.

This is a super cute little cafe! The coffee was wonderful! The eggs Benedict was a bit odd as it wasn't served on an English muffin, but the hash browns were some of the best that I've ever had! It was definitely on the pricey side, but I would still go back for sure! Our server was really nice and she did a good job.

My dish was eggs with mushrooms. The dish was big and filling, enough for two people, but it was very, very normal. I see people ordering more pancakes, they might be delicious, but I haven't tried them.

Every time we’re in Amsterdam, our family makes it a point to visit Greenwoods in Singel for breakfast. It’s hands-down the best breakfast we’ve had in Europe! There’s always a line, so come prepared to wait, but it’s absolutely worth it. I would give Greenwoods more than five stars if I could. Their Full English Breakfast, Eggs Benedict, and Shakshuka are all highly recommended.

Our server Brian was amazing. Actually he was kind of like superman effortlessly serving the entire crowd on his own! The food & drinks were perfect (great selection of teas too)and the view of the canal exceptional!

Du choix dans les plats proposés même s’il manque du « vert » pour moi, un accompagnement salade ou plus de legumes aurait rehaussé l’assiette. Prix entre 15/18€. Un peu d’attente car la salle et la terrasse sont petites. Service rapide.
