Bad service. We put our name in the waiting list and we waited for an hour. Every ten minutes the waitress told us that we just need to clean a table or were still waiting for a table to be free. We were five people and a group of four people registered after us but the waitress let them in before us. The waitress let in many groups of two when she could have saved two tables for us. She kept lying to us when clearly she could’ve let us in sooner.

Really yummy food, worth the wait

Easily the best breakfast I’ve had in Amsterdam. Worth the hype, staff were great too! Just make sure to reserve ahead of time or be ready to wait.

Heard so much about this place & wanted to check it out. Went there without reservation & had to wait a long time outside in the queue. Food is good but not a lot Service is great! Atmosphere is busy.

The carrot cake tasted very good. The cappuccino had a pleasant aroma and flavor, and the latte art was well done. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Overall, it was an enjoyable visit.

Definitely an overrated restaurant. The flavors are average — you can easily find better food almost anywhere in the world right now. The oat milk latte was ice cold even though we specifically asked for it extra hot. Also, when serving sourdough bread, they should provide a knife that’s actually suitable for cutting sourdough.

One of the best brunches I have ever had. Recommend the Navajo Eggs: BBQ pulled pork, avocado, poached eggs, mango salsa, hollandaise sauce. Absolutely worth the wait. Staff moved the line along as fast as possible.

It was close to the Van Gogh Museum, so I was able to eat right away without having to wait. After eating in Germany, which is notorious for its food, I was very satisfied with my visit to Amsterdam. The staff were also very friendly.

Very high prices for this food. Very bad service. The coffee is terrible and not tasty. We were brought Benedict on which there was 2 bacon and 2 eggs and it already looked poor for 15 euros. And it was very not tasty, my portion was larger but not tasty, the bacon was dry, the bread too. They didn't even bring water, although everyone else had water. They forgot about my coffee. The establishment left bad memories. We ate because we were hungry. But I would not recommend this establishment.

I have been to a lot of brunch places in Amsterdam but this is definitely one of my favorite or maybe my new favorite in town. The pulled pork is just amazing. We went there around 1pm on a working day and waited outside for around 10 mins, which is okay. Will definitely come back.

The servers are super friendly. The food arrives quickly and is excellent. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the decor is lovely. I recommend it for a great brunch.

Wasn’t a big fan of the food. The B&R lacked a spread on the bread and the avocado was too ripe to the point of being gone bad. The banana shake was really good. Extra points for having a virtual queue!

This place is a hidden gem — I can’t recommend it enough. I didn’t catch her name, but the waitress who greeted me on arrival was lovely and clearly enjoys what she does. The only reason I’m not giving it 5/5 is simply the price. I paid around €35 for a vanilla milkshake (which I really enjoyed), a homemade iced tea (not quite my taste — maybe skip this one), and, if I remember correctly, the eggs royale. I’ve been to quite a few breakfast and brunch spots during my stay in Amsterdam, but Bakers & Roasters has been the standout for me. Should I return to Amsterdam, I’ll definitely be coming back here.

The B&R Special and Homemade Granola were delicious, and for the first time I was able to sit down without waiting in line.

We arrived and a had a little wait once we joined the virtual waiting list, but that was okay as we just walked around the area for a bit. The staff were lovely and food was great. They have good gluten free options and everything is clearly marked on the menu. Only giving 4 stars as the prices were very expensive.

Why wait in line for this? The potatoes were salty, the scrambled eggs were terrible, the halloumi wasn't warm at all and was dry. (Isn't Holland famous for its cheese?) The chili sauce was so bland it didn't go well with any of the food. The uncooked avocado was the best.

Unfortunately I don’t think this place is worth the hype or the price. 25€ for the Kiwi breakfast that was so overpowered by chunks of garlic, there was too much going on the plate which made this such a sickly dish. The blueberry pancakes, scrambled egg and one strip of streaky bacon were nice, but that really was it. The slab of bread was just way too thick and the avocado just felt odd on the plate. Tables are also so crammed together you can’t hear yourself think, I personally wouldn’t return.

Everything from A to Z is great, the coffee is also superb – not watery, nice and strong <3 Breakfast arrives quickly and tastes fantastic. The team is super friendly and works together very well. A must if you're in Amsterdam.

A top spot for breakfast and brunch in Amsterdam! On the recommendation of friends, we visited Bakers & Roasters. Without a reservation, we had to wait about 10-15 minutes. Afterward, we were given a table right by the door. Unfortunately, it's quite drafty there due to the constant opening and closing of the door. The tables are so close together that you can hear everything without whispering. However, the food and the coffee were excellent. Very fresh ingredients and perfectly toasted bread. The coffee was superb. The service was very quick and attentive. The restaurant is on the pricier side, but the quality justifies the price.

Great breakfast and healthy options 🌸 We got early breakfast here. We ordered the B&R breakfast with side eggs and avocado with coffee and matcha. Everything is delicious and fresh, especially the pancakes. The portion sizes are good. Coffee and matcha latte was also good. Quick and friendly service. Highly reccomend and would visit again =)

The food was really good, sad we didn’t take pictures, we ordered the B&R special, and the apple crumble oats, but the food in the tables next to us all looked and smelled really good too. Our server Jasmine was really nice and attentive (that is hard to find in Amsterdam, so we really appreciate that), all the staff were friendly. I recommend this place. It gets busy after 1pm, but it’s worth the wait.

A very generous continental breakfast. It's like two meals. There's a wide variety of breakfast options. It's not so crowded on weekdays. If you go on the weekend, be sure to get there early to line up.

Very packed place - sits were so close to each other with other people that you could barely feel comfortable. Food is okay, but nothing special. Service is fast, but there was a problem with my food and guy didn’t even communicated it to me but to my partner. They forgot about us and after I paid and we kept sitting they suddenly started coming and asking if we need something more.. it’s ok, but I would not say it’s a great place :)

At Bakers & Roast I experienced something very disappointing. If you order a dish that includes pork, you can’t swap it for chicken without paying extra. You’re essentially charged as if you’re adding an additional portion, even though you’re actually leaving the pork out. That just doesn’t feel fair. For people who eat halal or simply don’t consume pork, this makes the restaurant practically inaccessible. When I raised the issue, the only response I got was: “This is Bakers & Roast policy.” In other words, they knowingly exclude a large group of guests. On top of that, the place feels very cramped and uncomfortable, and you often have to wait a long time just to place an order or get your food. In a city where more and more restaurants are flexible, welcoming, and considerate of different dietary needs and beliefs, it’s disappointing to see Bakers & Roast remain so rigid, slow, and unaccommodating. This is not what hospitality should look like. For me, it’s a clear reason not to return — and to caution others who don’t eat pork to think twice before going.

What we ate Vegete brekkie Navajo eggs It was delicious. We skipped the line on a Monday morning. The tables are uncomfortable close together. Another table is within arm's reach of you, something I hate most about Amsterdam. Even though we ate inside, we were still cold. There are two open doors on both sides. I wanted to point out the negative aspects, so maybe some action will be taken. The breakfast is great. I might come back.

The banana bread French toast was quite delicious and the portion was large, my wife and I could have easily just split one order. The bacon was great!! Came on a Friday morning about 8:45am and fortunately didn't have to wait at all!

Very tasty and nutritional balanced meal, we ordered two new dishes on the menu, beans and tempeh on za’atar toast and cherry coconut Bircher, truly enjoyed them. Suggest to have better beans for the coffee though.

Every time we come to Amsterdam, Bakers & Roasters is a must-visit — it’s honestly one of our best memories of the city. The food is by far the best we’ve had here: you can really taste the quality of the ingredients, and the menu is full of smart choices like the protein shake alongside perfectly balanced dishes with generous portions. The staff are always super friendly, the service is quick and well organized, and the whole experience just makes you want to come back again and again. Highly recommended!

I was there alone, without a reservation, and was seated after a brief wait. It felt like the place was always full. The coffee was excellent, with a rich, full flavor. I had toast with scrambled eggs, bacon, and avocado. The eggs and bacon were cooked to perfection, and everything was freshly prepared and of excellent quality. I especially want to highlight the service: extremely friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The restaurant also had a wonderful atmosphere—cozy and stylish!

Amazing! Best food, drinks & service we had in all of Amsterdam. So good, we had have brunch at both Bakers & Roasters cafes in the city. Favourites are the Navajo Eggs, Cubano Sandwich & Tall Stack Pancakes. All were just melt-in-your-mouth perfect! The coffee, cakes & Turmeric Juice were all just beautiful as well! 100% would recommend!

Very filling and varied breakfast, friendly staff, the atmosphere does not disappoint. I did not find any queues, at 11:00 it is quite possible to find a place for one person or a couple. Convenient location if you go to the Rijksmuseum or Van Gogh Museum later. The price tag for breakfast is impressive, but you can treat yourself. They accept cash, but there are problems with change.

Arrived Monday morning on a local friend's recommendation. Despite being a weekday, there was a queue, but service moved quickly. The Huevos Rancheros offered a nice Mexican breakfast twist that I preferred over their more traditional options. The only minor issue was the tortilla getting soggy from the salsa, but the flavours were still excellent. The tempeh and bean dish was equally good and well-seasoned. Worth the short wait for quality breakfast fare with interesting twists on classics.

We’ve discovered this place from a travel app called HolidAI - AI Trip Planner & we loved it! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was overall great. We had to wait a bit because it’s not a really big place but it was worth the wait. Prices are a bit above average for Europe in general but not surprising for Amsterdam. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re planning to visit De Pijp since it’s really close to everything there.

The pancakes were quite dry, served with just a few banana slices on top and some blueberries inside. They really could have used more fruit and a proper amount of syrup or sauce to bring them together. The Huevos Rancheros were also underwhelming ☹️ basically a simple tortilla with beans and toppings, and the guacamole unfortunately wasn’t very good. The bacon was probably the highlight of the dish. On the positive side, the staff were very friendly. However, the food overall didn’t stand out, and the interior felt uncomfortably crowded.. tables were so close together that there was no sense of privacy. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend it. There are definitely better places in Amsterdam for a Brazilian-style brunch.

My first brunch in Amsterdam took place at B&R. I loved the ambience, super friendly staff. A special 5 stars for the music list, if I would love to punch your playlist! This is very lively place located in a charming neighbourhood. I had BR special and it was of a good quality which included a toast , eggs , and an avocado. Pancakes were soft and tasty. Staff went extra mile to accommodate my dietary requirements. Matcha was really good.

Open early on Sundays- worth getting up for! Excellent varied menu. We had florentine and BR special. Both very well executed. Super garlicky spinach and yummy think bread. Friendly efficient service.

I was at the Baker’s & Roasters in Amsterdam recently ! I tried the Power Breakfast and Fruit Bowl, and both were delicious and full of flavor. The service was outstanding, making the meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a tasty breakfast!

You have to scan a QR code to join the queue. If it doesn't work, the staff reacts very unfriendly, as if you're asking a very difficult question.

I recommend the B+R Special, which combines sweet and savory dishes. The blueberry pancakes are very good. The server was friendly and even used a few French words.

For anyone travelling that wants a 'traditional' Aussie Breakfast and a nice smooth batch brew coffee, this is the spot. Superbly Poached Eggs, Sausage and the best home made GF Toast. Loved it all.
