Our experience at this restaurant was terrible. This is the biggest scam – WE WERE CHEATED❗️ Our bill was €227, including fries that were supposedly “free” and extra cheese we didn’t order or receive. We accidentally overpaid €300 instead of €250, and the waiter pocketed the money, returning only €23 at first. When confronted, he reluctantly gave back the missing €50. The owner or manger eventually came over, apologized to us, and admitted that this wasn’t the first time the waiter had done something like this. The waiter tricks customers by offering “free fries” that are actually included in the price. Cocktails were undrinkable – pure alcohol – and unevenly served. The food was low quality and not worth the price. We live in the Netherlands and know tourists are often scammed, but we chose this place based on good reviews. This is NOT an Argentinian restaurant. Avoid it at all costs!

The steak was not cooked correctly. I requested a medium-well rib-eye steak, but they served me one that was mostly rare. Also, there was a long hair on the plate. I'm sure that the waiter noticed it as well when he put the plate on the table but he didn't say or do anything. I had high expectations for the food as the reviews for this restaurant are very high but I was very disappointed.

We found this place after looking to eat some steak. We got very disappointed with the food. We ordered two portions of the Chorizo sirloin steak and what we got was comparable to a very cheap steak sold from a supermarket. Nothing close to the description of the dish. Additionally, we got beers without glasses - which was not a big problem - but even when we asked for them, we never received any, we just drank from the bottles. Tables upstairs feel isolated and at times there's no service available for long. (Just to be clear, in the picture the fries and rice we had to get seperate and share as it was not included in the price and the steak was not sliced, we did it ourselves)

I had dinner at El Torado today and the food was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere in the restaurant is also fantastic; the Argentinian music provides a pleasant atmosphere without being too loud. It is a place where you can really enjoy a relaxing evening. Unfortunately the service was not that good. The staff can sometimes seem a bit rude, and some servers do not speak English or Dutch well, which sometimes makes communication difficult. This detracted from the experience a bit. All in all, I would definitely recommend the restaurant for the food and atmosphere, but I hope the service improves in the future!

The cut of meat we ate was incredible, you could tell it was Argentine meat, if you want to eat a good steak come to El torado in Amsterdam. Valentino waited on us and is the only one who speaks Spanish, a genius! We ate delicious and at a good price!

I have been coming here with my parents and brother for several years. Excellent service every year. Michael in particular helps us every year. I can especially recommend the spare ribs.

Food was okay, nothing special, but they definitely need to work on their service! Waiter was not polite at all, basically pushing us to order. Three orders were not correct, clearly he didn't even bother to listen what we were ordering. Cleanliness is really poor. I would suggest to avoid.

The food was a little disappointing. We had the spare ribs (the meat wasn't really tender and the BBQ sauce was just OK). They forgot to take out the onions from the burger. The fried egg we ordered was forgotten with the steak. The unwanted BBQ sauce was still poured over the chicken. The food per se was ok, but rather inadequate for the price. The advertising here is “best spare ribs in town” - the reality is far from that.
