Al Argentino Steakhouse in Burgwallen-Oude Zijde

Al Argentino is nestled among a plethora of primarily Argentinian and Italian restaurants on Zeedijk and Warmoesstraat. We noticed that it was one of the few restaurants that didn't look like a company cafeteria, but rather cozy with wide benches and large wooden tables. The owner, who came out, was very kind and friendly. So we went in. Considering the price, the food was excellent; you shouldn't expect culinary delights in this type of restaurant. The service was excellent, and we sat in a wonderfully quiet place without any noise around us. And importantly, the restrooms were nice and very clean!

The service was fast and kind, the skewer I took cooked as requested and delicious meat both in flavour and softness of it, the very delicate and appropriate mushroom sauce, crispy and light-coloured fries, synonymous with freshly put oil, a delicious place and characteristic interior characteristic of pub or Argentine brazier.

As an Argentine, I really recommend it! 10 points. The waitress who serves is super friendly. The meat is exquisite, and the chimichurri is a must.

Excellent meat, but the salad deserves a good homemade vinaigrette and not a bottle of white vinegar and olive oil placed on our table. It's a bit short.

A great steakhouse There are many Chinese restaurants and several steakhouses on this street, but I decided to choose this one because it had tenderloin. Environment: The entrance looks small, but it's quite spacious inside. There are plenty of tables and it's comfortable. Dishes: 1) 200oz tenderloin, charcoal-grilled to perfection: tender and crumb-free, with a charcoal aroma that permeates every bite. 2) Shrimp in red wine sauce: chewy and delicious. 3) Grilled vegetables: very good.

My husband and I had just gotten into town and were out exploring when we came across this Argentine steakhouse near the red light district. We were welcomed right away and got a cozy window seat—perfect for people-watching. Our ribeyes were cooked just how we ordered, medium rare, and our host was friendly and easy to talk to. A great little find for our first night in the city.

Really friendly owner, good food, quick service, good selection on the menu. Food was well cooked and decor was funky with animal hide couches and rustic wood vibe. Service was good and seems better than other restraints in the immediate area.

The set lunch we ordered was very good – a beef steak, fries, and salad included – for €14.90. Everything was fresh, very well seasoned, and the peppercorn sauce complemented the steak perfectly. I highly recommend this place.

The food was okay. However, we wanted to pay separately. There were eight of us. The waiter calculated our bills individually, but rounded up all the prices, so we ended up paying €50 more than we should have. On top of that, everyone tipped... simply a rip-off.

We ordered the Pinchos De Agentina (Grilled beef brochettes) and Tres Carnes (Mixed Grill) to try, the meat were cooked to medium as we wanted and side salad and chips were a good portion, not too much and not too little, just the right amount. The overall meal itself is good and the only let down was the beer (Corona) was not cold. The staff were welcoming and the place have a very nice atmosphere.

Staff and Service was good. Food was blow Average, small portions and soft drink didn't taste fresh. Generally way overpriced, with 2 items ambiguously sliped in as add-on. Furthermore they will also ask you to tip.

Meh. Arrived in town late and saw this was still open so went in for steak. The meat was okay - certainly not exceptional, but better than most supermarkets. It was grilled well, to the right degree of doneness. Not seasoned at all, though, and the chimichurri was anonymous. The service was friendly, but not very attentive, and pushier than I prefer. In short, this didn't feel like an experience I would recommend. It wasn't horrible, it was just....meh.

Tourist trap! Overpriced low quality meat, the meat was chewy, rubbery no condiment, no salt. 40 euro per person for the mixed bbq is a robbery as there is very little meat, sausages and ribs… service bland and no attention to clients.

This evening, we wrapped up our birthday celebrations at Al Argentino, located on Zeedijk. The restaurant sits among many others offering cuisines from around the world. Graham ordered the rump steak, while I opted for the grilled king prawns. Our Spanish server, Francis, was fluent in English, Italian, and, of course, Danish, making our experience even more enjoyable. The playlist featured a mix of Italian pop songs, which I thoroughly enjoyed—though it felt quite far from Argentina! We were both very happy in this little corner of Amsterdam, appreciating the friendly service and flavorful food. Thank you, Al Argentino!

Came all the way from Texas just to eat here again and it was worth the travel! Great service and fresh ingredients!

My friends and I came in 15 minutes to closing and Francis welcomed us in for dinner. He ended up serving us for over an after closing and never made us feel like it was time to leave. He recommended great food, drinks, and dessert and created an atmosphere like we were having dinner at his home. Great food and even better service!

Loved the food, we started with the fish soup and Argentinian chorizo, I had the grilled salmon and my husband had the steak. This was our first meal in Amsterdam and we loved it.

TL;DR: Come here for awesome steak and fantastic service. Absolutely Delicious! As a couple of Australian tourists trying to make heads or tails of menus written in other languages, Francis at Al Argentino made us feel so welcome and comfortable. The Garlic butter and warm bread to start was fantastic, followed by shrimp, avocado and a delicious whiskey sauce which my partner raved about. Finally, an assortment of Argentina's finests beef cuts, sauce, fries and onion rings accompanied by an assortment of beer, lovely wines and cocktails. Over-all an awesome experience, fantastic service and full bellies all round. It reminded me that sometimes the convenience of home delivery food pales in comparison to a good meal and conversation.

Visited Al Argentino in November with my girlfriend, we had the mixed grill. It was amazing, as was the service from our waiter. Will definitely be back the next time we're in Amsterdam.
