Gustatio Oud Zuid in Museumkwartier

We were pleasantly surprised. Authentic Italian food, fresh pasta and nice atmosphere. I had a delicious Apperol Spritz. The owner and the waiter are very kind, helpful and friendly. I highly recommend it.

During our trip to Amsterdam, we stumbled upon Gustatio Oud Zuid restaurant. Despite the language barrier (we didn't speak Dutch), the owner made a genuine effort to communicate with us in English. We had a hungry child, and the owner went out of their way to prepare a kid-friendly dish. The main course was delicious and well-prepared. Overall, a positive experience!

Went yesterday for dinner, we ordered tagliatelle ragu and gnochi al manzo. Tagliatelle al ragu was nothing special. The sauce lacked flavour and made me feel I was eating something I can quickly make at home. Gnochi al manzo was different, the sauce was really good, the gnochi were soft and really big, however they werent seasoned properly and by being so big, first you get a nice bite with the meat and sauce but then you are left with a fluffy but flavourless ball of dough. Overall it was food I could eat but I would not go back for, sadly. Maybe we were unlucky with the choice? We were at the other location a year ago and we enjoyed it a lot. But this time it didn’t feel it was worth the money spent for the food we got.

Ta place is amazing.i loved the food. Authentic and basic Italian food with very good quality products! Definitely try the homemade gnocchi, they have many variations including 3 vegetarian options. The tiramisu was also really good. The server Alessandro was really friendly (and handsome:)) and really made the experience topnotch. Recommended!

Gnocchi al manzo were delicious. Prices are not low, but not over the top either. It's a small place with an excellent and uncomplicated service.

Gluten Free pasta AND gnocchi alternatives for almost every dish! Very accomodating staff and the sauce was unreal, so delicious! My husband claims it was the best gnocchi he ever had (non GF) and I had the gluten free which was equally delicious. Also very nice selection of Italian wines to match.

Everyone else who came in at the same time had dessert. I didn't get my pasta either, so I asked them to cancel and left the restaurant, paying 37 euros Then I must severely condemn the Italian salad, which costs 11 euros and does not even have olives in it! ? An all around L. Food was okay. Service was a massive L. The food took like 1 and a half hours to come and the main dish I ordered the pasta never came. What an L. I sincerely feel very disappointed. At first, I thought I was lucky to find a spot without a reservation, but after waiting for an hour and a half, all I got was one salad, an appetizer with three slices of toasted bread, and a glass of white wine. Other tables that arrived at the same time had already finished their meals and desserts, yet my pasta never came. We got lucky, walked in without a reservation and were promptly seated. The wine list is not really extensive, but it’s excellent. My spouse had a chard and I had a volpacello. Dinner was nicely paced, with time to enjoy the unique (for me) bruschetta and my wife the “side salad”. Both great. We each had a tagliatelle with a different sauce and meat, both outstanding. Save room for dessert. If the cannoli was off the charts, I can’t imagine how good the tiramisu must be. Get a reservation and come enjoy a great taste of Italy!

Really good fresh pasta dishes, the frutti di mare was off the chain. Very accommodating and friendly staff. If you’re in a rush this probably isn’t the best choice, but if you have the time you’ll be very satisfied.

This is amazing food! The service is exceptional also, I just also add accommodations for allergies is second to none. Back of the menu lists them all. Almost all (if not all) good is made at the restaurant, it tastes fresh and amazing. Details presentation and food quality ingredients are on obvious. There is no second guessing, you know it’s made at the restaurant. We enjoyed every moment of our meal, the wait staff was witty and playful but still very professional. It was a delight after a long day taking in the city to have amazing food amazing service and left feeling recharged to take on the next day.

Absolutely honest food!! And the cannoli...HEAVENLY DELICIOUS! And then you also get a Balocco to take home...! I'm a fan and will definitely come back! Multo Bene!!!

After visiting the Van Gogh Museum, I walked for about ten minutes and ended up at Gustatio in Oud Zuid, Amsterdam. The service was perfect, and the food was delicious. Their carbonara stood out, one of the best I've had outside Rome and truly original. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in Amsterdam.

We love the original Gustatio on Overtoom and so were excited to try their new restaurant, and it did not disappoint! The most delicious pasta in Amsterdam and the best tiramisu hands down! truly one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. It all started when we arrived and there are way too many tables fit into a small space. You are almost shoulder to shoulder with the people sitting next to you. Then we were told that the food would arrive in about 20 minutes and we waited for close to an hour for it to finally arrive. There is one waiter in charge of all the tables so the management is clearly not very good either. The worst part was when the food finally arrived. The portions were quite small for what you paid for, and it was completely inedible. I mean honestly, we saw two tables leave before us without eating their food and complaining to the waiter. We then tried our own pasta and it was so salty. It was completely inedible and I cannot exaggerate to what extent this was true. We ended up having to leave the food and when telling the waiter that it was completely inedible, he made a comment saying that we probably didn’t know what good pasta tasted like…. we have lived in Italy for 5 years… In the end we left the restaurant hungry after paying 25 euros each and wasting 2 hours.

Family owned Italian spot with real and authentic recipes 😍 They truly love what they’re doing and passionate about their recipes. From starters to dessert all the dishes are beyond delicious! Their special pastas are soo good. Especially the gnocchis are heavenly definitely a must try 🤩

Authentic Roman family restaurant. Best pasta in town. There are two in town, the other in old west. This one has a calm and relaxed atmosphere, the other one is more busy with a little younger clientele. They have started to serve Secondi too and have delicious deserts. Make sure you reserve in good time. We have been there plenty and the quality is always good.

My friend and I had walked to this neighborhood only to find that the Italian place we had sought was a pick-up only situation. This turned out to be for the best because we already had our hearts set on Italian and stumbled across this unassuming place. The food was absolutely outstanding. I had the Parpadalle ‘Nduja with Burrata and it was outstanding. The pasta (made in house) was fresh and perfectly al dente, the burrata was also incredibly fresh and matched the heat of the spicy ‘nduja perfectly. I had an Limoncello spritz which was good but I think next time I would skip the cocktail and ask for a wine recommendation to pair with my meal. My pasta was €22 and the drink was €12. If I remember correctly, wines started at €7. My friend had tagliatelle which was also excellent. She went for Tiramisu to finish and it was amazing. I’m not really a dessert person but I had to stop myself from eating my friend’s entire dessert, it was so good.

In the middle of Amsterdam a genuinely Italian restaurant!!! Made by Italians. With excellent food and good wine options. The service was excellent, but a little slow, nothing that ruined the experience.

Heerlijk gegeten en wat een gastvrijheid! Ontzettend vriendelijke mensen, die je een hartelijk gevoel geven. En het eten is ook nog eens heel lekker en vers. Alle pasta's zijn zelfgemaakt, evenals alle desserts. Ik wist niet dat panna cotta zo hemels kon smaken. Ik kan niet anders zeggen: dit is een dikke aanrader!

Oke, het leven is duur. Uiteten gaan is duur. Dus als ik de keuze maak om buiten de deur te eten dan hoop ik gewoon dat het mijn geld waard is. Dat was nu niet het geval.. en dat vind ik zo jammer want deze ervaring had ik bij de andere locatie niet. - achterin de hoek zit je in de tocht.. - we waren nog niet klaar met het voorgerecht maar deze borden werden al weggehaald voor het hoofd.. - de pasta was niet meer warm toen het werd geserveerd (omdat het al lang stond af te koelen vanwege ons voorgerecht) - het duurde mega lang voor ik oogcontact had voor nog een glaasje wijn of peper en zout kon krijgen - na het afruimen van ons hoofd.. is er niemand meer naar ons toegekomen (ruim 1,5 u) voor nog een toetje, koffie, thee? - eerst stond er house muziek op, daarna rock muziek.. niet echt sfeerverhogend - het hoofdgerecht (carbonara) was veel te zout en moest ik thuis nog 2 liter water drinken om weer op peil te komen. - het opruimen en schoonmaken van de zaak was belangrijker dan de gasten. Al met al.. het was mn geld niet waard. Zonde!

As an Italian-born seasoned international traveler, a foodie, and someone who is passionate about cooking, I don’t usually eat at Italian restaurants other than in Italy. I made an exception for Gustatio in Amsterdam, and I couldn’t have been happier. In a week that I was in Amsterdam, I in fact came back to Gustatio 3 times. The food is excellent and 100% authentic. The pastas, made daily in house, are incredibly fresh. The gnocchi, also made fresh daily, literally melt in your mouth. The pasta options are all amazing and one’s left truly with the embarrassment of choice. The heart shaped bruschettas are clever, delicious and truly make you fall in love with them. The desserts are sublime and the wine selections are excellent. In a nutshell- This restaurant is a true gem, make the time to come!

I can say with no doubts that Gustatio is the best Italian restaurant in NL. Delicious, everything fresh and tasty! It’s always a pleasure to come back.

Pasta is amazing and some of the best I've had in Amsterdam and Italy. The dough is homemade and soft without being overcooked. However, in my opinion, it is too pricey. Pasta is around €20 which is still doable, but three pieces of bruschetta for €15 and one tiramisu for €10.50 is way too much.

Fantastisch Italiaans eten met veel vega(n) opties, voorgerechten zijn ook lekker licht. Echt een gezellige avond gehad met goede sfeer en super vriendelijk personeel!

The pasta was good. The rest not so much. I ordered hot ginger tea and the ginger inside had already been used for somebody else’s tea. I had never experienced something like this, let alone in a restaurant. The bruschetta was underwhelming and they forgot to bring 1 of the main courses to one of the members of our table, so she only ate 1h later once we the rest of us were already done. On the restaurant’s behalf I’ll say that at least they did not charge for her main dish. They did charge for the re-used ginger tea though. We will not be back.

For a recent 3 day visit to Amsterdam, I ate dinner at this restaurant for 2 consecutive nights! I loved their house made pasta. It is of high quality and the sauces were just delicious! The portion sizes are ample too. I also tried their classic Tiramisu and it definitely did not disappoint either. It is scrumptious and not sugary. The service is friendly and attentive and you are made to feel welcomed. This is a must try!

Best pasta in town! If you want to impress a pasta lover, look no further, Gustatio the place to be. Classic dishes, executed in a traditional way. Italian staff and they know how to take care of people. Interior is nice as well, an upgrade over the other Gustatio on the Overtoom. Highly recommended!

Sono venuto ieri a cena per la prima volta in questo ristorante. Il cibo è fantastico, gli gnocchi alla Gricia sono migliori di quelli di moltissimi ristoranti in cui ho mangiato a roma. Anche dolci e antipasti top, soprattutto la Focaccia con Burrata. Grazie a tutti, compreso lo staff, per avermi fatto sentire di nuovo in Italia. Tornerò presto.
