Atmospheric place, normal prices.. but a glass for Aperol is a beer glass and a lot of ice... 10€... for that, well, a lot... because apart from ice, there was no Aperol to be found). I give three stars because it's a cool place, but still, if you want a cocktail, then go to a normal grocery store😅

Had drinks and dinner with colleagues. Despite the warm weather, that was perfectly fine on the terrace. There is plenty of shade from trees and large parasols. An atmospheric location by the water. You order food and drinks using a QR code on your table, after which the order is quickly delivered by friendly staff. This restaurant has its entire logistics well organized. The food is not top-notch, but certainly adequate in relation to the location. In short, highly recommended.

This is a popular excursion spot just outside the city. You have a good view of the lively activity on the canal.

It was a very busy evening, so busy that there was a queue outside to get in. Larger groups in boats were asked not to moor due to overcrowded capacity. Those arriving became inexplicably angry and reacted rudely. I had to wait outside for a while while my husband already had a table inside. That is just how it is. Fortunately, manager Esmee let me borrow her phone for a moment to call him, as my phone battery was dead. I would like to thank Esmee and the staff for their excellent care despite the crowds; we look forward to coming back soon.

Been for corporate party there. Location,service, food is very good. I miss good🍷 and a bit of music on background. But anyways highly recommended place in Amsterdam

One of the most characteristic place of Amsterdam. Close to the station, but not turistic. Cool in summer and winter, always full of Dutch and international locals. The snacks are a bit expensive, but the place in general really derserves it. You can also arrive directly by boat.

You shouldn't watch the World Cup here. Prices triple, and you get ripped off terribly. A serving of fries, half of what's shown in the picture, for about €7? Dirty nachos (cheap and small portions) for €14.50 Cocktail for €19 Don't do it

They don't come to you, you need to go there.

Ridiculous security. Stating they won't let you in unless you go back over some specific bridge. Completely ridiculous. I love nearby, and stated I'd cycle onwards and park somewhere near my house and walk back, for which I was told I also wouldn't be allowed back in if I were to do so.

Amazing atmosphere right at the water front and you will have an amazing view of the water and boats docking by. It is walking distance from Centraal and near the city Centre without it being full and overflowing in here. The tables are individual pieces of art and there are fairy lights lit up when it gets darker. One thing I must mention are that the drinks a a bit pricey. An Aperol was 10€, a small beer (0.25l) was 3.70€ and a fresh peppermint tea 4.50€. But still the service was really nice and quick, and I would definitely come back here and enjoy a glass of wine.

Awesome spot. Plenty of tables and very nice by the water. You order via the QR code which makes it easy to stay seated. The food portions were good. Both the cheese burger and chicken burger were tasty. There is also an nice beer selection. We will definitely return.

A charming green oasis by the water in Amsterdam. The beer garden is simply fantastic. The colorful tables are lovely to look at, and there are cozy spots under the trees. We had coffee and cake, and it was delicious. It's self-service.

Super nice location, exactly as described, relaxed atmosphere. Had drinks and dessert here after a disappointing visit to another restaurant. The dessert was very tasty. If you are looking for an "easy going" spot in the center of Amsterdam, I would stop by here.

Hannekes Boom is beautifully located and has the atmosphere of a creative hotspot from a bygone era. The waterfront setting and alternative vibe make it an appealing place to visit, especially on a sunny day. Unfortunately, the experience doesn't quite live up to the image. Prices are steep, with a burger and fries costing around €22, yet neither stood out in terms of quality or flavour. Service was also disappointing, with staff appearing largely uninterested and disengaged. The place gives off a somewhat contradictory impression: promoting a progressive, laid-back image while charging prices you'd expect from a genuinely high-end establishment. You're largely paying for the location and atmosphere rather than the food or service. Overall, a great spot for a drink and the ambience, but not somewhere I'd recommend for the food.

Nice place, friendly staff. But charging €9.50 for 5 pale chicken pieces on a bed of grated carrots is really quite cheeky.

Went here on a Sunday evening and the restaurant wasn’t even that busy, but the experience was honestly terrible. The table we were seated at was already dirty and nobody bothered to clean it. We ordered through the QR code system they use, and somehow several items got ordered twice, so we were charged double. When we tried to explain the issue, the staff member barely even listened to us and offered absolutely no solution. They brought our nachos while the table was still dirty, and we didn’t even get our drinks until around 10 minutes later, only after we complained again. We basically ended up eating on a dirty table, without drinks, while also being overcharged because of their app, and nobody cared enough to fix it. Really disappointing service.

A place with an incredible view!

Cozy place, but the food was very mediocre. Hamburgers barely seared. Grilled chicken sandwiches where the cheese had melted the day before, and the chicken wasn't freshly grilled but warmed up lukewarm. Tried it twice but won't be eating there again.

Fun restaurant/bar right on the canal. Limit I door seating but lots of outdoor covered seating. Good selection of beer and other drinks.

You would go there to enjoy the view or after visiting the NEMO museum, because nor prices nor the food are appealing

21.50 euros for a frozen burger, and tasteless at that. Don't eat here! Very disappointed with the service and value for money. I wanted to have a nice evening with my wife and children, unfortunately that wasn't the case at Hannekes Boom... My tip: Don't eat here!

Beautiful view. Fast service. The French onion soup was great. The nachos for me personally, I would not order again. But they are just like nachos every where here. Drinks were nice and cold. We will be back. We had a chicken sandwich which was good as well. Loved this place.

Had a cup of tea and a coke for €7.25 on Friday at 8:30 PM. Great tea, great service, great price. We did have to dry off our own spot outside after a rain shower. On Friday evenings, it's incredibly busy and therefore very noisy. There's no music outside (which is nice), but inside, the music is quite loud. Too loud for my taste (57!). The location is enormous. Inside, there's a rooftop terrace, two large covered patios, and a patio along the water. Very lively!

Hannekes Boom is truly a top spot in Amsterdam! 🌞🍺 Located on the water with a lovely terrace where you can enjoy the sun and a cold beer. Many expats also know where to find this cozy spot 🌍🙌. An added bonus: you can even moor your boat there 🚤⚓ – perfect for cooling off and relaxing after a boat trip. Our dog Frenkie 🐶💛 was also made very welcome and enjoyed himself just as much as we did. A wonderful spot for a relaxing afternoon by the water in the heart of Amsterdam! 🌿🌊

There are lots of people here. They recommend a visit. Aside from the beautiful view, there's nothing special to see. Everything is old and broken, with dirty tables and self-service lines.

This place is really a cool spot, good cold beer, good food and if you come by boat you can pull up to the dock, scan the QR code and the servers will bring your food and drinks right to your boat! It got a little crowded after we were there for a while, but all the locals were very friendly and welcoming, I was sorry we didn't make it back there.

Located close to central station (next to the booking building) is a atmospheric little bar/cafe called Hannekes Boom. It has many trees covering the terrace which gives it its character and vibes. The tables are all decorated differently with paint. It’s a nice place to hangout with friends for drinks or snacks but for dinner or lunch it’s nothing special. You order through QR codes on the table so interaction with personnel is limited to them delivering and picking up plates and glasses. Overall this is a great place to hangout with friends for drinks in the evening, but for lunch or dinner I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Exceptional place by the water, very pleasant for a coffee. The staff is also very pleasant. However, be careful: do not sit under the trees, at the risk of receiving bird droppings (and not just a little)

Perfect location is being wasted by the incompetent management! I have been here a couple of times already in the last years but my final visit made me to review eventually. Prices are high for what you get as a food/service. We ordered 4 cheeseburgers and 3 of them had cartilage pieces in them. How low is the meat quality. You order Cola and it tastes worse than the machine ones in McDonald's. Plus, the food and drink are served with paper/plastic cup and board. I am not visiting here soon. There are already better places by the water in south. The management team needs a fact check.

Grabbed a couple drinks here and sat by the water to watch small boats coming in to Amsterdam Sail festival. Nice atmosphere and location next to the water. Would come back here in the future.

Convenient ordering with a QR code. Of the 5 fries I ordered, 3 arrived at the same time. The 4th arrived 15 minutes later, and the 5th was "forgotten." The quality was poor; fried way too hard, refried (?), and dripping with grease. Prices were very high.

The WORST TOILETS ever!! And you have to pay for it, even if you sit at the table and order: nachos, 2 meatballs, 2 fries and a plate of snacks... Don't recommend it at all!

Fantastic waterfront location, easily accessible by boat, with its own jetty! Ordering with QR code is quick and easy. Friendly and helpful service. Clean restrooms, plenty of choice. Enjoy a wonderful time both indoors and outdoors!

Great staff. But... About the nachos. Based on the looks, expectations were high. But soon questions arose: Where's the salt? Why are they cold? Why doesn't the guacamole taste like avocado? Why so little cheese? It was disappointing. The fries were also very small, and all for €5.50. Such a shame!

We were served half a beer, and when we mentioned it, they just shrugged. The same thing happened with the fries, which were old and soaked up by oil, and only half full. Really, way below par. It's a shame, because the location is nice, but you just don't get your money's worth here.

Bunch of scammers! Spent over €50 on food and drinks (no decent plate or glass). It's like getting takeout at a festival. The toilet also costs €1, even if you've already paid for the food and drinks. The toilet is part of the restaurant, so it's just a money grab. It's a shame that places like this always focus on people getting their money, not on actually having a good time and coming back. Absolutely not recommended.

I came to Amsterdam to celebrate my 30th birthday during SAIL, and we booked with Hannekes Boom who promised we could enjoy the event together from their venue. The deposit was paid and the booking was confirmed, but just 5 days before, they canceled on us. What they offered instead was poor and nothing like what was promised. No call from management, no accountability an incredibly disappointing experience on what should have been a special trip.

One star for charging paying customers one euro just to use the toilet, and they weren’t even clean or working properly. Highway robbery. Otherwise great location but to extort your customers like that is wrong.

Terrible, terrible place. My friend had a birthday event planned here, and after paying a deposit, we were called only a couple of days before and were told the reservation was cancelled with little to no explanation. Leaving us to plan and find an alternative last minute with friends and family flying in from the UK. Genuinely left us panicked and stressed.
