Honest review...; the salmon pizza was inedible and particularly sparsely topped with salmon, and on top of that, far too salty. The employee's response: "That's because it's a salmon pizza." I looked at her, bewildered. Are you serious? Apparently so. Not recommended, then. A shame.

Went there as a group of 4 adults and 1 toddler. The service was not good. I had reservation and upon arrival, we are directed to the table with 4 seats. The waitress did not offer a child seat for my son. I had to arrange the seat for my son. She only brought the menu card to our table. Therefore we were confused, where is the drinks? She forgot to brought the drink card. When we were about to order, the waitress was confused because we asked about the kruidvat menu. Apparently she did not know that we will use the kruidvat promotion. And she asked me to show the barcode to prove it. Very weird. I made reservations through their website in particular for kruidvat promotion and still I had to prove it. Bad system. When the food came, I asked for a small plate for my son. Took quite some time just to bring it to our table. The waitress was talking with her colleagues while we are waiting for the plate. Despite of that experience, the food was nice and portion is more than enough. And the payment process was quick. Do not expect a nice service there. Just go for the food.

I have been coming here for 10 years, but today was the last time. Saw mouse droppings on the floor AND 2 hairs in my pasta on the same day... very, very disappointing. In case the restaurant is reading this, there are too many droppings visible on the left as you enter, under the raised section near the shelves, and on the floor. Absolutely a waste of our money.

What an incredibly bad experience. I come here regularly and have actually always been satisfied, but what I experienced today is truly absurd. I arrived five minutes before four and was asked to wait another five minutes. Fine, no problem at all. While I was on the phone with my boyfriend, I literally said: “The boss told me I have to wait another five minutes.” Apparently, this employee couldn't handle that at all and decided to make a personal matter of it. Suddenly, I was “rude” and wasn't allowed back inside. I didn't swear at her, didn't threaten her, and didn't treat her disrespectfully in any way. When I asked for her name so I could file a complaint, she refused to give it. Next, she approached me aggressively and intimidatingly and even grabbed me. Eventually, I called the police. Honestly, it mostly came across as if this employee has an enormous need to exert control and wanted to assert her “power” over a customer at all costs. A normal situation was completely escalated by her. And this isn't even the first time. I previously had an experience with the same employee where I arrived around 8:55 PM, even though the place was supposed to be open until 10:00 PM, but she refused to take any more orders. At that point, I let it go. In hindsight, apparently against my better judgment. An employee is allowed to have a bad day, but intimidating customers and even physically grabbing them really crosses all boundaries. I have never been treated this way in a restaurant. Happy Italy: please take a serious look at who you allow to act as manager and how customers are treated here. Because if this is the standard, I would absolutely not recommend this branch to anyone. I expect a serious response and an apology for this. And definitely call the police if you experience this at Happy Italy as well!

Ordered a salami pizza and the pizza base is dry and the salami is overcooked. I won't be coming back.

What a disgrace. Pizzas so dry and tough that they were impossible to cut. You could play frisbee with them. On the pizza margarita, the cheese was nowhere to be found; it was tasteless. The salami pizza was likewise tasteless, cheap ‘plastic’ salami. The salmon pasta... it smelled strange and it tasted even stranger. Never again for us. What a shame! Years ago, the food was fine.

The food was delicious, mind you. But we had made a reservation for 2 people tonight at 18:00. We arrived at 17:55. We had to stand in line first because there was an introductory group ahead of us (who were 45 minutes early, but were being served sooner). Okay, okay. After that, we were seated (18:06) by someone at a nice table. It is very loud inside, so you almost have to shout to hear the person opposite you. This could also be due to the introductory week students. We waited for someone to come to our table, but no one came by. We just ordered ourselves via the QR code (18:27). We did see others around us being served, including the ladies sitting next to us who had sat down later. We didn't get our drinks until 18:40. The first person at our table, by the way! He brought the drinks, but there was no glass for mine; before I could ask, he was already gone. Not really a hello, or any possibility to ask him for anything. I then walked to the bar myself for a glass and a glass of water. The people behind us, who also sat down later, already had their food. Our food didn't arrive until 18:56. The person who brought it wished us the standard "bon appétit." Which I understand; it is busy. However, we still haven't received any real service. This is the type of service you expect at McDonald's. People dropping your food/drinks and then walking away. Not at a restaurant. Eventually, we finished eating at 19:09 and quickly tracked down the first available employee to ask for the bill. The waitress did politely ask if everything was in order. When I said "no" for the reasons mentioned above, and pointed out that she was the first person to actually serve us, she was shocked. She was very friendly and apologized, but did nothing else. I hope this restaurant schedules more staff for an evening. This was actually truly terrible. The first waitress who stood at our table—who didn't clear things away and then walk away—only arrived after a 1 HOUR OF WAITING. Terrible. Everyone was very friendly, but there was clearly too little staff. Edit: So I won't be coming back, and I don't recommend this place to others either. Just excuses without any action aren't really motivating you to be ignored again, unfortunately.

The restaurants is seriously understaffed. All young people who work there are nice, but they cannot manage to be on time, and they do everything too fast. Pizzas were nice, but a salad was not fresh. It's too big and therefore too much noise.

The food was fine. It just took a very long time before we could place our order. It was still early and not busy at all.

The welcome was enthusiastic, but after that, it went downhill. Empty glasses were not taken away when new ones were brought. The main course was sold out and no clearing was done. The pizza was fine, but the pasta with salmon was far too salty. All in all, not good.

I didn't know it, but what a cool restaurant. Very large, but cozy; a beautiful place with plenty of seats inside and a few outside. The atmosphere is amazing with lovely Italian music and large portions. I would love to come back.

The food was good, but it was very difficult to get in touch with a waiter. It was very quiet in our section of the restaurant. Two of the three waiters spoke English. A bit of basic restaurant Dutch isn't that difficult, so it bothers me that no effort is put into that. It's a nice place, but because hardly anyone was sitting on our side (on a Saturday night, no less), it felt a bit lonely. The Italian mess is highly recommended. Fortunately, it wasn't as sweet as feared. You can adjust the level of sweetness yourself with the amount of lemon curd. The cheesecake, however, was too sweet. Ask if the sauce can be served separately on the side. That is actually a good idea for the Italian mess regarding the lemon curd as well.

The pizzas have less and less topping; soon there will only be tomato sauce on them.

Unfortunately the service is pretty bad. The umbrella was falling apart on my friend. It was visible that the umbrella was already broken before and propped up with a temporary fix, which obviously didnt work and was dangerous for the customers. The waitress had no other option but to use the same dangerous method, which of course resulted in it falling apart another time. Furthermore we were actually trying to catch a movie but it took more than 30 mins to prepare 3 pizzas, and noone informed us untill it was too late and we had to get the pizzas to go. In my opinion this is both poor safety measures by management as well as bad communication of the waiters to us. Will not visit any time soon.

We came via SocialDeal, very cheap, namely 2 courses for €12.95 (Mon-Thu). Service was nowhere to be seen; we had to walk to the wait staff to order, received food without cutlery, and eventually grabbed it ourselves. We weren't asked for dessert either, even though it was included in the SocialDeal package. The food was super tasty though, and served quickly. There were lots of children and a lot of people immediately to the right, while we were sitting in the middle with only a few people.

I was here on a Saturday during the holidays. It wasn't very busy at that moment. There was a staff shortage, though; this was mentioned politely. After reading the reviews, I was really skeptical because they weren't kind. We were there with a Kruidvat deal: main course and dessert for 10 euros p.p. together. The reception was fine; we ordered a sandwich and a drink right away. After the sandwich was brought, we were told that it was very busy with few staff, so they would order the main course in advance so we wouldn't have to wait so long. Everything flowed smoothly. Ordered a delicious dessert. All in all, we had a nice meal for 40 euros together; we didn't notice much of all the negative opinions.

I was here with a friend who has heart problems. Upon entering, we politely asked if we could sit on the other side of the room, as she quickly becomes overtired due to the many stimuli. We were told that this was not possible because no service was provided there. Instead, we were seated in a corner under the stairs, right in the middle of many other guests. Due to the crowds, we could barely hear each other, which made the dinner anything but relaxing. To our surprise, when we had finished eating and wanted to pay, we saw that guests were now actually sitting in the spot where we had wanted to sit. That made the earlier explanation difficult for us to understand and gave us the feeling that our situation was not really being taken into account. We found that very disappointing. A little understanding and flexibility could have made a big difference.

Dirty restaurant, was there salami on the menu?

First, we stood waiting with several other groups for 10 minutes before a staff member could take us to a table. Meanwhile, the other staff were busy serving, but no one noticed the line. It didn't come across as a welcome. The spot we were assigned was very noisy, had poor acoustics, and it was difficult to understand each other. Because this was too much auditory stimulation to be able to eat, I asked for a quieter spot on the other side, where other people were eating. Initially, I was simply told no, despite asking what was possible. I spoke to them again later, as it turned out to be the manager himself. The solutions I offered—picking up our own pizza and not needing service to spare the overworked staff—were not allowed. The question of whether we could eat the pizza outside was also not accepted. Due to a staff shortage, nothing was possible; could I have known this because it is peak hour on Fridays, according to the manager? Personally, I didn't feel heard or understood; there was no empathy whatsoever, no alternative, and just a 'deal with it' attitude. Above the dining room was also the unsupervised children's area with a play paradise, which provided extra dynamics and monkey noises. The table was sticky, and the menus were past their prime and had many sticky spots and stains. Hygiene? Many tables remained served with plates, etc., long after the customers had left. Do not come here for atmosphere, service, or a relaxing evening. We were here because of a Kruidvat coupon. The price-quality ratio is reasonable/good. But for the same price, I could also sit in a restaurant with more atmosphere, experience, and peace. This was the first and last time we have been here.

It took a long time before the order was taken and served. The order for both drinks and the main course had not gone through. Dessert also took a very long time. In the end, we sat for well over two and a half hours. Only one apology was given for the food being delayed.

We had a delicious meal for three of us, consisting of pizza and pasta with a dessert from the Kruidvat promotion. What a great deal! So cheap considering everything you get. As far as I'm concerned, you can repeat this deal!

Staff were running back and forth and playing with water pistols while the food took 40 minutes to arrive—two pastas. The service is also truly ridiculous, and the food ended up looking like a 3-year-old had made pasta. Never again for us, and I will definitely be spreading this word.

We found the pizzas dry and minimally topped, with very little sauce as well. A large part of the crust is just dough. The restaurant has music playing, but the kitchen has its own music playing. I have been to Tilburg, Nieuwegein, and Groningen before. It was much better there. Ordering via QR code. The staff doesn't come to ask you anything and doesn't come to check if everything is in order. After the meal, we wanted to pay, but after a while we just walked over to a staff member ourselves because no one came. Not that it was busy at that moment; 75% of the tables were still empty.

The food was fine but the service is so so so slow, each time im here I tell myself I'll never come back here, but each time I come back and each time im disappointed. This time was the final straw for me. We tried to be smart and order foods and drinks at the same time, that arrived fast. But after we got our food no one came to check up on us anymore. I wanted to order some garlic sauce but no one even looked our way. So we never got to order it. After we finished our food it took around 20 minutes for someone to come to our table. We ordered a desert and paid our bill so we wouldn't have to wait an extra hour in order to pay. But after 30 minutes we still didn't have our desert. When some staff finally looked up we could ask them what was up and they completely forgot our desert? It was really frustrating because we had to catch a movie after this.

Ate at Happy Italy for the first time. Good food, but not inferior to Domino's or New York Pizza. They were severely understaffed with too few personnel.

The staff was very nice and pleasant, but unfortunately the food was not really tasty: industrial dough, sauce, and cheese.

We celebrated our daughter's birthday party here, but unfortunately, it was very disappointing. Based on the information on the website, we expected the children to decorate their own pizzas. Upon arrival, it turned out that this was no longer offered. The staff seemed unaware of the children's party package, and there was no supervision. Additionally, our table remained full of empty plates for a long time. The ice creams were forgotten, and only after we asked for them multiple times did the children receive their ice creams towards the end of the party. Some children also initially received no ice cream at all. Fortunately, the children enjoyed themselves in the play area, but that was the only real positive point for us. For a children's party package, we had expected more organization and attention. Unfortunately, our experience did not match the expectations created by the website.

The most delicious food in Arnhem

During our visit to Happy Italy, we had a very positive experience. The restaurant is spacious, making it feel pleasant and relaxed despite the crowds. We arrived on time and were able to take a seat immediately without having to wait, which is always a nice start to a meal. What stands out immediately is the ease of ordering via the QR code on the table. Within a few clicks, your order is processed, and you don't have to wait for a staff member to come by. This is a major plus, especially when you are in the mood for a quick meal. Additionally, the service was remarkably fast. The pizza was on the table within a short time, without compromising on quality. I chose a spicy pizza with salami and red pepper and was pleasantly surprised by the size. The pizza was generously topped, had a nice thin crust, and a good balance between cheese, tomato sauce, and toppings. The salami provided plenty of flavor, and the red pepper ensured just the right amount of heat without being overpowering. The quality of the pizza was simply good: fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you expect from an accessible Italian meal. No complicated culinary masterpieces, but a tasty, well-prepared pizza at an attractive price. In my opinion, Happy Italy is an excellent choice when you are looking for a quick bite in an informal setting. The combination of a spacious restaurant, fast service, the simple ordering process via QR code, and a great pizza makes this a place I would undoubtedly return to.

The ambiance is chic and the staff were friendly. The food, however, is nothing special. The Margherita didn't taste good and was a bit too hard. The cheeseburger was good, I'd say. Overall, for the price, I'd go somewhere else.

I was sitting at a table covered in ants; I really saw an ant at least every fifteen minutes (I was sitting inside). The food was okay, it was served quite quickly, and you could also make a reservation fast.

We had to wait about 45 minutes for our order, which is far too long. Such a waiting time is unacceptable. Additionally, the toilets were dirty and poorly maintained. There was no hand soap available, which should be a basic requirement for hygiene in a restaurant. Due to the long wait and poor hygiene, this visit was very disappointing. I hope that management addresses this and implements improvements.

The prices at Happy Italy are remarkably low. That's certainly no reason to miss a visit. That's probably also why it was crowded and noisy. The fast service is also commendable. However, after the main course, no one came by. So we left without dessert. For the price, I think it's a fine restaurant. The food you get for that price is good, but not exceptional.

The pizzas were delicious! (Doner and quarto stagioni) The tiramisu was absolutely disgusting! I ordered a non-alcoholic version. It had nothing to do with tiramisu. I don't easily leave anything untouched, but this just didn't work. A waste of money... The staff was friendly, and we didn't have to wait long for our order. A tip: get different knives. They're not great for cutting pizza; you have to use a lot of force because they're barely serrated. We'll definitely be back for the pizzas and the atmosphere.

Happy Italy is the most customer-unfriendly restaurant I've ever visited. We were forced to wait in line, even though almost half the tables were empty. The staff was busy serving tables and didn't have time to show people in line to their tables. After waiting almost ten minutes—we were the fifth in line—only one couple had been shown to their table. Like several other people waiting, we left the line and then enjoyed a delicious meal at De Beren, the restaurant next door. There, we received a warm welcome and were shown to our table. That's how it should be.

From the moment we entered the restaurant we were warmly welcomed by a very nice employee named Anca, I hope with all my heart that you will always find her because she will make you feel wonderful just by the fact that she has a warm voice and a wonderful smile, as for the service, it is also extraordinary, very fast around 10 minutes and the food is excellent. I heartily recommend this restaurant and I hope that you will enjoy the services offered by this wonderful Anca. A 5 STARS EXPERIENCE !!!!

Had a great lunch experience at Happy Italy. We opted for something different: the Salted Caramel pizza. A surprising flavor combination and very generously topped! Kudos for creating such a beautiful creation. And all for less than 9 euros. The staff is hard-working, friendly, and professional. I think this is important to mention, as some people have had different experiences with the staff. The restaurant is large, but clean and nicely decorated. There's an open kitchen. A slight disappointment is the hard, uncomfortable wooden chairs and the high price of drinks. A half-liter of Weizen costs 9 euros. That's the same price as a pizza. You can order via the QR code on the table or with a staff member. I will definitely come back and recommend everyone to come here.

The waiter who accompanied us to the table / reception was rude, disparaging.. since we drove there for 4 hours and the children were hungry, we stayed.. the waiter who then served us was super nice and polite.. food was mega and there was an incredible amount

Delicious food and friendly staff

We had a wonderful meal last night at this beautiful restaurant. You're asked to wait at the entrance, after which you're politely seated. We sat all the way in the back, near the bar, and the table wasn't exactly level, but that was a nice touch. It didn't hinder the delicious pasta we enjoyed. There's a wide selection of vegetarian pastas, as well as fish and meat options, of course. You can also customize your dish: choose the type of pasta and add extras. The portions are generous, but if it's too much for you, you can take it home. The desserts are also very worthwhile and not too large. The restrooms are in the very top corner of the building. For those with limited mobility, it's quite a climb up those stairs. We were wonderfully looked after all evening by Farrah, a very friendly and helpful young woman. It was a fantastic evening.

The food is being raved about, which isn't so bad. The pizzas are quite large, but they lack something you'd expect from a real Italian restaurant. However, the staff and the atmosphere make up for a lot. Kudos for their dedication and making you feel at home. A tip for the kitchen: go for quality over quantity. The pizza crust and base were tough and baked a bit too long. The ingredients taste good, though.

Really lovely location. The terrace is a perfect choice to have a meal and also suitable for cigarette smokers which is a plus. Service by Lollie was as smooth and helpful as it gets. Can only recommend visiting!
