They deliberately make people wait (outside) to be seated. The food isn't great and the atmosphere is nowhere to be found. Great for the masses, so it seems.

I am almost 100% sure the good reviews are only for the pasta because the pizza was as flat as paper the pizza was uncut and I could almost see through it😂 we also had some bread with sauces the sauces great but tell me how hard is it to not make bread as hard as stone😂 anyway the only good thing was the pasta and the great lady with the Halloween doodles on her face she was great ooo and we had to wait 45min for the food

The prices at Happy Italy are remarkably low. That's certainly no reason to miss a visit. That's probably also why it was crowded and noisy. The fast service is also commendable. However, after the main course, no one came by. So we left without dessert. For the price, I think it's a fine restaurant. The food you get for that price is good, but not exceptional.

The service is really fast and efficient despite it being really crowded during peak days. I really like their tiramisu.

It's great for dining with a few people. The food is good/freshly prepared, but standard. It was very busy. We had to wait a long time to pay (for serving and billing staff).

The pizzas were delicious! (Doner and quarto stagioni) The tiramisu was absolutely disgusting! I ordered a non-alcoholic version. It had nothing to do with tiramisu. I don't easily leave anything untouched, but this just didn't work. A waste of money... The staff was friendly, and we didn't have to wait long for our order. A tip: get different knives. They're not great for cutting pizza; you have to use a lot of force because they're barely serrated. We'll definitely be back for the pizzas and the atmosphere.

Happy Italy is the most customer-unfriendly restaurant I've ever visited. We were forced to wait in line, even though almost half the tables were empty. The staff was busy serving tables and didn't have time to show people in line to their tables. After waiting almost ten minutes—we were the fifth in line—only one couple had been shown to their table. Like several other people waiting, we left the line and then enjoyed a delicious meal at De Beren, the restaurant next door. There, we received a warm welcome and were shown to our table. That's how it should be.

The Best pizza in Anrhem. I think people put less stars so they can have their table without standing in the line.

From the moment we entered the restaurant we were warmly welcomed by a very nice employee named Anca, I hope with all my heart that you will always find her because she will make you feel wonderful just by the fact that she has a warm voice and a wonderful smile, as for the service, it is also extraordinary, very fast around 10 minutes and the food is excellent. I heartily recommend this restaurant and I hope that you will enjoy the services offered by this wonderful Anca. A 5 STARS EXPERIENCE !!!!

Had a great lunch experience at Happy Italy. We opted for something different: the Salted Caramel pizza. A surprising flavor combination and very generously topped! Kudos for creating such a beautiful creation. And all for less than 9 euros. The staff is hard-working, friendly, and professional. I think this is important to mention, as some people have had different experiences with the staff. The restaurant is large, but clean and nicely decorated. There's an open kitchen. A slight disappointment is the hard, uncomfortable wooden chairs and the high price of drinks. A half-liter of Weizen costs 9 euros. That's the same price as a pizza. You can order via the QR code on the table or with a staff member. I will definitely come back and recommend everyone to come here.

The waiter who accompanied us to the table / reception was rude, disparaging.. since we drove there for 4 hours and the children were hungry, we stayed.. the waiter who then served us was super nice and polite.. food was mega and there was an incredible amount

We had a wonderful meal last night at this beautiful restaurant. You're asked to wait at the entrance, after which you're politely seated. We sat all the way in the back, near the bar, and the table wasn't exactly level, but that was a nice touch. It didn't hinder the delicious pasta we enjoyed. There's a wide selection of vegetarian pastas, as well as fish and meat options, of course. You can also customize your dish: choose the type of pasta and add extras. The portions are generous, but if it's too much for you, you can take it home. The desserts are also very worthwhile and not too large. The restrooms are in the very top corner of the building. For those with limited mobility, it's quite a climb up those stairs. We were wonderfully looked after all evening by Farrah, a very friendly and helpful young woman. It was a fantastic evening.

The food is being raved about, which isn't so bad. The pizzas are quite large, but they lack something you'd expect from a real Italian restaurant. However, the staff and the atmosphere make up for a lot. Kudos for their dedication and making you feel at home. A tip for the kitchen: go for quality over quantity. The pizza crust and base were tough and baked a bit too long. The ingredients taste good, though.

We hadden allebei een pasta tartuffo di pollo en vonden het beide niet lekker. Ik zelf had de tagliatelle maar die was helemaal aan elkaar vast geplakt en dusdanig rauw in het midden. Eindstand wel de drankjes gratis gekregen maar dat stilde niet de misselijkheid helaas niet. Word niet vervolgd…

Really lovely location. The terrace is a perfect choice to have a meal and also suitable for cigarette smokers which is a plus. Service by Lollie was as smooth and helpful as it gets. Can only recommend visiting!

What an atmosphere, so cozy and the pizza is also delicious, it felt heavenly, it is also child-friendly with a playground for children and they ask if you want something to drink and the wait was not that long even though it was quite busy. Dear owner who is reading this now, you can give your employees a big thumbs up because it is just so delicious and even the makers dance Italian and play music while making the pizza. I heard Italian music and happy employees, there was also a birthday and that is why the atmosphere was good... they started singing when people started singing too, really good. If you continue like this, you can earn more money and invent more things. Big thumbs up, I will definitely come back!!!! I see you soon !!!!!😃😃😃😃😃

Delicious food, affordable and large portions!

We both had pasta carbonara here. Way too much pepper, the penne was overcooked, and the aftertaste wasn't pleasant. Unfortunately, it's gone downhill enormously. Where we used to give 5 stars, I now give it 3 because 2 is a pittance. But it's now like an all-you-can-eat restaurant, shoving food down as quickly as possible in a factory hall with screaming kids. This will be the last time for us.

After a few years, I decided to try eating here again, since our previous experiences with you weren't great either. This time, you did a pretty bad job as well. The penne was way overcooked, there were too many peppers, the staff barely spoke Dutch, and they were curt. Tip for everyone: go to a real Italian restaurant.

August 2, 2025 I visited this restaurant for the first time today. Perfectly friendly service, great atmosphere, and delicious food. Great combination! I really enjoyed it. I'll definitely be back. The iced coffee with ice cubes was only tasty at first. Once the ice cubes melted, I didn't like it as much. Maybe it would taste better with vanilla ice cream? and, above all, last longer!

The food was terrible. The Margherita pizza barely had any cheese on it. The pasta wasn't tasty either.

We had a wonderful meal with the family. The pizzas were delicious. The tiramisu, however, is mostly whipped cream. Happy Italy deserves a special mention for staff like Fayona. We were pleasantly surprised by her demeanor and hospitality towards us and our children.

What fantastic service we received here! 👌 There are no long waits here, the service is fast and customer-friendly. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Madalon, you always have such a beautiful smile.

Today I had dinner with my daughter and a friend. Upon arrival, we were helped by a very grumpy woman. She would rather see us leave than come back. We received two children's menus, both cold and tasteless. The food was very salty, so we were thirsty, but our drinks never arrived. She was busy with all sorts of things. We had finished eating, and I went to pay, and the same woman who had taken our order asked. "Didn't you have any drinks?" I said, "No, you didn't bring them, but you don't need any more because we're leaving." I couldn't even apologize. So I went and had a drink somewhere. What a waste of money.

Birthday dinner for my son who turned 11. The food was delicious, the service was excellent. Fayona made it complete with fireworks for dessert.

Not a very warm welcome upon arrival. The lady stood 5m away from us and spoke to us, then walked 5m ahead of us to the table, threw the menus on the table and nodded. Ordered 2 pizzas and a truffle pasta without mushrooms, because that was possible. Then got the pasta with mushrooms. Reported this, the lady came back later with the message that this dish was not possible without mushrooms. My daughter wanted to look at the menu again. The lady did not keep an eye on us anymore to take a new order. 10-15 minutes later, had to speak to someone myself and then placed the order. We indicated that we did not have much time because of our booked film. However, no apologies yet. We still had 20 minutes until the film would start and still had to walk to the cinema. The pasta was eventually brought. Still no apology. Immediately paid and asked to pack the pasta to take with us. When paying, I thought the amount was a bit high. Asked if the other pasta was still on it. She had to get the receipt... and indeed, it said. It can happen, again no apologies. The same 'cheerful' lady gave me back the overcharged amount via her colleague. And no apologies. You understand, rightly, a very unpleasant experience. My daughter was sitting in the cinema seat eating her meal.

I've been there twice, and both times the staff were very rude. The second time, I didn’t enter through the main door but through a side door about 1 meter away. The staff immediately told me they were closed. I checked my phone—it was 12:10 PM, and their Google hours showed they opened at 12. When I asked again, "Didn’t you open at 12?" she finally said, "Use the other door." It was clear she didn’t want to serve us, so I just left with my friend. The food is nice, But they should train their staff.

If you want to eat out cheaply, this is the place to be. Pizzas are prepared in a pizza oven and the service is generally very friendly. It is a pity that after placing the order, no one walks past our table. We would have liked to have another drink, but everyone was so busy that we could not signal. At one point we walked to the entrance to get someone. The knives are really terrible, so blunt. Please give us a steak knife or a pizza cutter :) But all in all definitely recommended!

Unfortunately the food was below par, staff doesn't help you when you say something. They act smart or just laugh at you. And to top it off I saw mice. Well great, money wasted.

The location is really great, a stone's throw from the station. We shared two pizzas, but found the amount of kebab on the kebab pizza rather pitiful, especially considering the fact that this is not exactly the cheapest pizza. You can add döner for an extra three euros (which is also remarkably mentioned directly under that specific pizza). Afterwards, that almost felt like a harbinger that there would be little on it. The staff is friendly, but they don't check in between whether everything is to your liking or whether you want something to drink. Too bad, and it confirms the fast food feeling that is already hanging around here. Given the price increases in recent years and the decreasing quality, I think that for a few euros more you can better go to a real Italian. This is not cheap, and you are left with a hangover feeling as if you had an AH fresh pizza. No repeat for us.

I bought a sweet pizza fragola and it didn't arrive after 30 minutes, then I asked the waitress and she said that the pizza wasn't even made yet, I had to wait almost 1 hour, unbelievable, then when I went to open the pizza, the pizza was small with a very small amount of that white stuff and a lot of strawberries, in the past it was always with a lot of white stuff and a lot of strawberries and the pizza was always big. can't believe i got scammed for €9.50

They said there’s no place to sit unless you have a reservation, okay. So I made one for 40 minutes later and waited. Then I ordered a pizza, but it took 30 minutes to arrive. When I asked them about the average preparation time for a pizza, they said 5–10 minutes. I saw something in the restaurant that said “Fast Italian” or something like that — just made me smile :) The pizza wasn’t bad tho, good value for money.

Today I went to Happy Italy in Arnhem with my boyfriend, but unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience. We arrived at 17:30 and were initially asked politely if we wanted something to drink. Unfortunately, the service stopped after that. We tried to place our order several times, but could not get in touch with the staff. When we spoke to someone, they said: "I'll be right there", but then nothing happened. It was not until 45 minutes later that someone finally came to take our order. This employee promised that our order would be treated as a "VIP order" and that the food would arrive quickly. Unfortunately, that was not the case either: we had to wait another 50 minutes before the food was finally served. In total, we waited an hour and a half for our food, which is really unacceptable. I personally did not like the food either, the pasta was very bland. The overall service was bad, there was little attention for the guests and it felt like we were completely ignored. This was our last time at Happy Italy Arnhem. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant at all.

Delicious 4 cheese pizza eaten. Took quite a while before it arrived. Definitely worth repeating.

The food was.. ok. The pasta had a lot of oil and a pizza was not pre-cut; that would not be a problem if the knives were a bit sharper. Service was fine and as expected from a restaurant of this size. Unfortunately we found out too late that there is a good cinema + food deal, that is certainly attractive if you also want to catch a movie!

Nog etende aan de heerlijke voorgerecht (carpaccio) werd het hoofdgerecht gebracht. Bediening wou het gerecht er neerzetten waarop ik aangaf dat we nog aan het eten waren. Hierop werd met schouder ophalen gereageerd. Op mijn reactie dat ik het niet aannam kreeg ik als antwoord ‘ dan wordt het eten koud’. Uiteindelijk is bediening met maaltijden terug gegaan. Half uur later kregen we de (opgewarmde?) maaltijden weer terug waar ik later nog een haar in vond.

We had a reservation for 6:30. We arrived at 6:25. At 6:45 someone came to us to show us to a table. We were given no menus and no help. We left at 7:00. Reservation for 6:30, and 35 minutes of absolutely 0.0 service. We went across the street to Taco Bell. Much better! Food within 5 minutes.

This was absolutely a terrible experience, Me and my friends were so hungry and we reserved a seat here. We had to wait for more than an hour and when we decided to ask where our food was they told us that they were preparing it! The food was delicious though, and the workers were also helpful and polite.

Simple, fresh, italian. What else does one need .

Bad service. After waiting 2 hours, we left WITHOUT FOOD. And a dirty and unsafe playground equipment that is not looked after! Yesterday evening my husband and I chose this restaurant to have a nice meal with the children (3,6 and 7 years old). Especially because of the play equipment available upstairs. We reserved a time slot in advance, but upon arrival we still had to wait in line for about fifteen minutes before we were assigned a table. After 10 minutes our daughter came downstairs crying because she had fallen into another child's spit. So the play equipment was dirty! Shortly afterwards our son also came down with a bloody lip. Hard building blocks that should be in the block corner were piled up in front of the slide... Obviously, a child sliding down cannot slow down and in doing so he hit his face on the blocks. This was reported twice, someone would be sent upstairs to clean up both the spit and the blocks... 45 minutes later, still no one had been here! After about an hour and fifteen minutes we saw several people complaining about the long wait and after 1.5 hours the first people started to leave the restaurant without having eaten. In the meantime, drinks from the company were offered to various tables to prevent customers from leaving. "Your order is now being prepared," it was promised. Fifteen minutes later this was repeated again. "It's really there now." (We are now 1 hour and 45 minutes further!!!) In the meantime, the youngest of us started crying from the trek and the oldest two were also unable to do so. After waiting another fifteen minutes for our pastas and pizzas that were supposedly already in the oven, we discovered that was not the case at all. My husband angrily walked to the kitchen and our orders were nowhere to be seen?! In the end we also left WITHOUT EATING. The funny thing about this whole story is that while there is a restaurant full of people waiting, home delivery people, etc., just kept walking in and out? It seems to me that if you can't even serve the people in your restaurant, you turn off the online ordering option?! We are very dissatisfied with this restaurant, but we still want to put Joost in the spotlight. Amidst all the chaos and hustle and bustle, we constantly saw him running wild. He also neatly accepted all complaints and criticism from the guests, even though this poor boy could do nothing about it. And because the "manager" was too busy to keep his word and send someone to the playground equipment, this sweet Joost took a look himself and made the playground equipment clean and safe between orders! JOOST YOU ARE A TOP :)

My pasta dish had almost no taste. The food was served in a plastic plate and the drink was slammed onto the table by the service. In general you can tell that the service is not there. The ambience is nice but the rest, well.

Food was extremely salty, when you raise your hand to pay/order you are simply ignored while they look at you straight in the eye. In short, mediocre food and extremely poor service.

Last few days my family and I had eaten there, it was terrible, the food was not tasty and the employees were unfriendly when we left. A few years ago there was very good food and nice employees, but that is no longer the case.

Restaurant? Nope, a food shed with staff that could use some training. Okay, they take you to the table, throw down the menus and leave quickly. If you are lucky and someone from the staff finally comes to your table, you can order exactly the same drink. The staff often comes by your table, doesn't see or hear anything and doesn't ask anything. After 1 hour the pizza is finally delivered and no one asks if the empty glasses need to be filled... Atmospheric restaurant nice for a quick bite? Not if you have to wait an hour for your pizza.

Mijn god, wat slecht. Normaal gesproken ben ik niet zo moeilijk qua eten, maar dit sloeg nergens op. De bodem van de pizza was van heel oud karton. Iemand had ook besloten dat de pizza's niet meer worden gesneden. Op zich niet erg, maar geef dan fatsoenlijk bestek en geen bot botermesje. Het excuus voor de betonnen bodem was dat één van de ovens kapot was... Dus? Dan leveren we maar rotzooi. Zo jammer, vooral voor m'n dochter.

We wanted to eat here but they gave an awkward seating so we asked if we could get another table (the whole restaurant was almost empty) we were told it wasn't possible because they wanted everything close by. which we thought was very special

We come in with a lot of baggage. The employee sees this. Are led to a small area where almost all customers are seated. I ask if we can sit somewhere else where there is more space. No, we find it easier not to have to use the other rooms. That was it, another missed opportunity to approach a customer as a customer.

Vandaag Happy Italy bezocht, maar helaas was het allesbehalve happy. Omdat het meivakantie is, wilde ik mijn man en dochtertje trakteren op een etentje. We kozen voor Happy Italy, maar dat bleek achteraf geen goede keuze. Na lang wachten werd onze bestelling eindelijk opgenomen. Vervolgens kwam de ober na een kwartier terug om te melden dat mijn drankje niet beschikbaar was. Geen probleem, ik bestelde iets anders. Maar daarna begon het pas echt: Het duurde drie kwartier voordat de pizza’s op tafel kwamen. De pizza zelf? Keihard en de kaas was taai als rubber. Nog eens drie kwartier wachten op het dessert dat bij de bestelling zat. En toen het ijs eindelijk kwam, was het al gesmolten. Ik sprak de manager hier vriendelijk op aan, maar in plaats van een oplossing, kreeg ik een snauw terug dat het ijs “niet gesmolten” was. Geen excuses, geen service, wél een onaangename toon. De chaos, het inefficiënte personeel en het gebrek aan gastvrijheid zorgen ervoor dat dit voor ons echt de laatste keer was. Happy Italy? Voor ons nooit meer.

Had a great time. Food was great and there was something for everyone in my group. It's also really big so it was easy to find a spot with my group without reservation. It does slightly feel like a mass production type place because it's so big but the food definitely wasn't like that. All around, we had a great time

Pretty okay food for a good price, always good service.

I went to Happy Italy with the Etos vouchers. First asked for an explanation, and then everything I wanted to choose was included in the deal, with the exception of a thinking dish. Fine. When I wanted to order, a lot was not included at once or I had to pay extra. I'm just a student and thought I would have a nice outing with my girlfriend that was somewhat affordable. In the end it cost me even more than without a deal. I'll never go there again.
