The food was delicious. My pasta was delicious, my sister's pizza, and she thought it was excellent too. Definitely recommended. The staff is a bit slow and they don't respond very quickly. We had a problem with fruit flies. That's why we're down one star. It's designed for a quick bite, so it's not very inviting for a late-night chat.

We spontaneously decided to eat here. After a short wait, the friendly staff member showed us to a table. We were able to quickly replace a broken chair ourselves. The drinks arrived very quickly, exactly 30 minutes after we ordered. An Aperol Spritz arrived without an orange slice or straw, but with plenty of ice. The friendly staff member promised to get a bubble tea straw, as there weren't any others available. Unfortunately, this remained just a promise. The food arrived gradually... As soon as the last dish arrived, the first empty plates could be cleared away. Pasta dishes listed on the menu with Parmesan were served without it. Fortunately, we were able to order Parmesan separately. For us, it was quite an experience...

We were asked if we had reservations, and no one else was. I had to wait an incredibly long time for my starters, which were okay, and the main course was absolutely inedible (the salmon had a strange, awful aftertaste). We had to wait another hour. The food was sitting in the warming rack, getting cold. I asked a few times how long it would take, and the waiter came to ask if we wanted dessert before we even got our food. I won't be back. The service is slow.

After a fun afternoon at the theater, my friend and I decided to finish off with dinner at Happy Italy in the Kop van Zuid district. The Pasta Verdure sounded delicious, so I went for it. My enthusiasm quickly faded when I received my food. There weren't many vegetables in the pasta, and the Parmesan cheese was also missing. My friend inquired and was told that the cheese was in the sauce, but they would bring an extra container. I was glad I'd started eating, because I never got the cheese container. Incidentally, the cheese was nowhere to be seen in the sauce; I really didn't taste it. Unfortunately, things got worse when we went to pay. I mentioned that I hadn't gotten the extra cheese container, to which the employee replied, "Oh, it does say so on the receipt, and it's already been rejected." Another employee was called over and told us it would be difficult to do anything about this because the transaction had been processed. He offered us a cup of coffee or a cola to go as compensation. We were surprised and especially annoyed that we were offered an alternative we didn't want, yet had to pay for something we never received. Very unprofessional and not customer-friendly at all. We won't be returning here again.

Went to Rotterdam for dinner. From the outside, I expected Italian food, but from the inside, I saw all sorts of Italian cans and decorative packaging. The Caprese was served in a plastic bowl, with only two types of oil, no vinegar... The pizza was average, also served on a large plastic plate, and the service was mediocre. A real shame.

I rarely give such a bad review. That it was busy was fine. That they only had pasta, no pizza, because someone forgot to take the dough out of the freezer was fine. We waited over 45 minutes for our main course. Fine by me. But after half an hour, it turned out they'd put peppers in my girlfriend's pasta and messed up the type of pasta. Fine, waiting for a new one, which was made right away. When they brought it, my food was cold. And my girlfriend's pasta was wrong again! We both went back! (I sweetly suggested I microwave mine.) Finally. Served. She really enjoyed it. Mine? Barely edible... I didn't even finish it... It's really cheap here! My girlfriend is (was?) full of praise for Happy Italy. But, I'll probably go to one of the other two.

We had a three-course menu with promotional vouchers. The starter was a delicious kind of garlic and herb butter bread. But it was very large, so you were already quite full. Then came the pizza. It was fine. The cake afterward was also good. But I didn't really like the atmosphere. The service at our table was reasonable/good, but I also saw a few sour faces from the staff. The floor could also use a cleaning. Pizzas aren't pre-sliced; a gentleman next to us asked, but it wasn't possible with a special pizza knife. We had no trouble cutting them. The drinks we ordered were worthless: a little grenadine with water and a slice of lemon. Not worth the money.

We had two pizzas – the vegetarian one with spicy meatballs and the tuna one. While the portions are large and have a fluffy crust, the dough is extremely dry and still not crispy. We were also particularly disappointed with the seating arrangements. Even though the restaurant was only 50% full, we weren't allowed to sit at the waterfront. Instead, the tables with the best view remained empty throughout our entire visit. To our disappointment, the homemade lemonade was just still water with store-bought fruit syrup. The staff was nice but not at all attentive or accommodating. Although the food is cheaper than elsewhere in Rotterdam, it wasn't worth the money. We would recommend everyone go elsewhere.

We thought we were going out for a nice meal, but nothing could be further from the truth. Upon entering, security at the restaurant was a bit strange. We finally ordered food, but the pizza was hard to cut and the crust was incredibly hard and thick. The pizza of the person I was with, a pizza meat lover, had almost no ingredients on it. We ended up getting a drink on the house, but no other pizza. They also wouldn't cut the pizza for me, even though I'm quite elderly, but I saw others were having trouble with it as well. Finally, the receipt showed drinks totaling €11, plus the cost of things we didn't have. I'm no longer happy with Happy Italy, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The lady at the entry is not happy with her job. The garlic bread is overpriced. The pizza was ok. It wasn't possible to sit by the windows overlooking the Erasmus Bridge because that section was closed. It's a shame Happy Italy doesn't take advantage of this unique view. I think this is because it was easier for the staff to serve guests closer to the kitchen.

I'm a bit disappointed with the atmosphere at this location because there's no indoor playground for the kids. The children did get a fun puzzle/coloring book to keep them entertained. The pizzas were delicious, but the pasta salmon was unfortunately less so. The salmon was tiny, wafer-thin, and it even looked like it had bacon bits in it! Not recommended...

Upon arrival, the hostess, judging by her appearance, didn't seem to enjoy her work. After a short wait, we were finally given a table. Despite our "waiter" not speaking Dutch well, he did his best to explain the allergies. I just decided to stop over at Happy Italy at the Kop van Zuid with my daughters, because they wanted to eat pizza. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a particularly unpleasant experience. For us: never again. Upon entering, we were kindly shown to a table. However, when paying, I noticed that an additional €0.50 had been charged as a ‘High Surcharge’. I politely asked what this was for and was told that it would be for a pizza box. When I indicated that we were going to eat in the restaurant, it was dismissed as a mistake. But instead of this being resolved professionally, I was told: “Do you really want that €0.50 back?”, to which I of course replied yes. I already found this quite unfriendly to customers. The pizza was then served unsliced. My young children cannot cut this themselves and because of my rheumatoid arthritis it is also difficult for me. When I politely asked if the pizza could be cut for us, I received a particularly rude and blunt response. I was told to do this myself, and the loan of a pizza roller was refused “due to the risk of infection”. When I asked what the risk of infection was exactly, since it was about a pizza utensil, I was irritated. Eventually, the pizza was reluctantly and unprofessionally cut into pieces by the staff and returned in an unfriendly manner. I had hoped for a pleasant and carefree lunch with my children, but the poor service, the unfriendly staff and the lack of customer focus completely ruined this. The situation has also been recorded!

Voor ons: nooit meer. Bij binnenkomst werden we vriendelijk naar een tafel verwezen. Bij het afrekenen viel mij echter op dat er €0,50 extra in rekening werd gebracht als ‘Toeslag Hoog’. Ik vroeg netjes waar dit voor was en kreeg te horen dat het voor een pizzadoos zou zijn. Toen ik aangaf dat we in het restaurant gingen eten, werd het afgedaan als een foutje. Maar in plaats van dat dit professioneel werd opgelost, kreeg ik de opmerking: “Wil je die €0,50 dan echt terug?” – waarop ik uiteraard ja antwoordde. Dit vond ik al vrij klantonvriendelijk. Vervolgens werd de pizza ongesneden geserveerd. Mijn jonge kinderen kunnen dit niet zelf snijden en vanwege mijn reumatoïde artritis is het voor mij ook lastig. Toen ik vriendelijk vroeg of de pizza voor ons gesneden kon worden, kreeg ik een bijzonder onbeleefde en botte reactie. Er werd gezegd dat ik dit zelf maar moest doen, en het lenen van een pizzaroller werd geweigerd “in verband met besmettingsgevaar”. Toen ik vroeg welk besmettingsgevaar dat precies zou zijn, aangezien het over een gebruiksvoorwerp voor pizza ging, werd er geïrriteerd gereageerd. Uiteindelijk werd de pizza met tegenzin en onprofessioneel door het personeel in stukken gesneden en op een onvriendelijke manier weer teruggegeven. Ik had gehoopt op een gezellige en zorgeloze lunch met mijn kinderen, maar de gebrekkige service, het onvriendelijke personeel en het gebrek aan klantgerichtheid hebben dit volledig verpest.

We didn't have a reservation on Saturday night and were fortunately able to get in fairly quickly, which was nice. Unfortunately, the service felt distant. We were immediately asked what we wanted to eat or drink, while we were clearly still reading the menu. The wine, almost 5 euros per glass, came in a tiny glass, which is really too meager for that price. The spicy chicken pizza was also disappointing. It wasn't spicy at all. I almost had to drown it in the 'spicy' oil on the table, which also had hardly any taste. The plates were placed on the table almost like discus throwers. No smile, no interaction, and not even a single check to see if everything was to our liking. When my father was still taking his last bite, his plate was already taken away and we were asked if we wanted dessert. It all felt rushed and focused on as much sales as possible. The location with a view of the Erasmus Bridge is really beautiful and made up for something. But all in all, I wouldn't eat here again.

We had the Ai Funghi spaghetti, tomato bruschetta and Verdure whole wheat penne. The Verdure tomato pasta did not taste very lively. It looked very tasty and fresh. But unfortunately you could not taste anything. The tomato was clearly present as you can see, but not really in terms of taste. All in all a mediocre average pasta place. The bruschetta was hard, tomatoes not fresh and the olive oil was missing. And the plates were not porcelain, but plastic (melamine). I also found that a disappointment.

I’m extremely disappointed with the way we were treated. My colleague and I were on a business trip and simply asked to pay for our meals separately — a very common and reasonable request. The employee rudely refused, insisting that each table must have a single payer, which makes no sense for a restaurant serving professionals. When we asked for a bank receipt, we were met with hostility and told we were wasting our time. The staff were not just unhelpful but outright rude and dismissive. It’s frustrating and unprofessional to be treated like this, especially when all we wanted was basic courtesy and transparency. We won’t be coming back.

I found the service very antisocial, we were sitting at a table and instead of giving us a menu, he kept talking to someone else while he had seen us sitting there for quite a while. We asked for a menu, the staff looked at us very strangely, even when we asked for something, he was quite rude and not at all customer friendly. When paying, we also asked for the bill, while he was talking, we were looked at very rudely and strangely, instead of asking us kindly how the food was or something, he took the payment and said nothing, no thank you, no friendly look, but with other customers he did. We visited on a Saturday evening. A spacious property. The place has got good outdoor views. The staff was welcoming. It seemed more like a quick service place. We tried the Spicy Tomato sauce Pasta and the Pesto Pasta. Both were good enough.

Excellent English speaking and friendly service. Fast service, almost reminiscent of a fast food restaurant. Decor is attractive. Industrial with a very high ceiling, so no acoustic problems. We arrived early (around 4:30 PM) and were put at a (high) table (with high stools) where 5 tables were already occupied in the same corner 'concentrated' (efficiency for service?). We're not difficult, but if you're not assertive enough and prefer to sit low... I had spaghetti seafood and my dinner companion fussili with salmon. She is used to spicy food. She had to pay extra for a scoop of peppers. Unfortunately they weren't spicy either. She indicated that a piece of salmon tasted a bit raw and 'fishy'. Oh dear. In both cases the pasta was very overcooked, limp and there was still quite a bit of liquid at the bottom of our plate. Comparing the portions to each other and to other tables, my dining companion's was substandard. For dessert we received 2 (chemically) brightly colored ice cream balls in a cookie container. My pistachio ice cream had a light spring green color. The whipped cream came from a spray can and tasted weak and quickly became watery (just like the ready-made whipped cream can from the supermarket). The ice cream scoop was cute with the Happy Italy logo on it. We left them behind neatly. If you are not a gourmet, the pasta is sufficient for a quick bite, especially if you take advantage of a Social Deal offer: a pizza or pasta (+ 2 scoops of ice cream) for €11.95. The pasta dishes normally cost around €16. Qualitatively 'expensive'. At an authentic Italian you pay the same for an al dente pasta and prepared with more care and more taste. But don't buy ice cream at à la carte. Tastier and cheaper to get a tub of Hertog ice cream or Ben & Jerry's from the AH across the street and spoon it together. It's a shame that the quality (price ratio) of this beautiful concept has deteriorated so quickly.

Llegamos mucho antes de la hora de cierre (ANTES DE LAS 9 PM, mientras que cierran a las 10 PM) ! ! ! , pero nos quedamos impactados por cómo nos trataron. Un hombre de cabello oscuro y barba, posiblemente un miembro del personal, fue increíblemente grosero y desagradable. Ni siquiera nos dejó entrar en el restaurante y dejó claro que no quería servirnos en absoluto – sin explicación, sin cortesía, simplemente falta de respeto. Nos sentimos completamente inoportunos y falta de respeto. Si este es el tipo de servicio que este lugar permite, se refleja muy mal en la gestión. Honestamente, nos hizo preguntarnos: ¿así funciona la hospitalidad en Rotterdam o fue solo una persona impactantemente antipática? De cualquier manera: vergüenza para Happy Italy Kop van Zuid por emplear a personas que claramente no quieren hacer su trabajo. No vamos a volver y no lo recomendaría a nadie.

It's a disgrace. My daughter and I ordered pasta without our allergic ingredient. We've been waiting for a response for three months now, and I've received all the emails. Luckily, I saved them in my inbox. You almost poisoned me! I've repeatedly requested a solution, and so far, you've come up with nothing. The person who sent the email was Liesbeth. If you call them and explain, you just get a big middle finger. My heart aches at how people can be like that.

If this were an Italian restaurant, I'd be the Pope. Any Italian would be mortified by what's served here. Everything fresh from the freezer. From pizza crust to toppings. The staff walks from table to table with their pants half-down; it's not what you'd expect from a so-called Italian restaurant. The word "disgusting" is appropriate here.
